View Full Version : Last Minute Reservation failure??

I have often posted that I have had good success with last minute reservations so I thought to be fair I would post my latest experience.
I have some downtime next week at work and found a "deal" on the airfare so I decided to "run away" for a few days.
Started this yesterday and so far it is not looking promosing. The best we could do was one night at VWL in a one bedroom. (I passed on that one)
I will keep checking up until Tuesday when I fly to Disney but if I don't get a DVC I do have the Hampton Inn LBV on my Hilton Points on hold...... I am hopeful that they may "release" a cash room to the points again since there are cash rooms open. If not......
So my luck may have run out.
(And since I am using some points that are in the last 60 days of the use year I can't try for a moderate which is usually my "last option" )
I am not the least bit upset by this, but posted it to provide an honest "other side of the story" to my usual sucess.

I hope that something comes through for you. Nice of you to tell both sides of the "last minute" story!

pixie dust to you. we are also hoping for last minute, have the last three nights booked, but our first ones, the tenth to the 13th nothing available. might have to pay cash at a moderate, would I be sad but we will be on vacation. hoping somehting opens up.

Good luck Carol! I love how you take everything in stride! DVC seems to be really, really bustling this year! Feb, Mar, and Apr are pretty much all sold out! YIKES--what will that mean for the parks!:confused3

You know some people would be bent right out of shape because of that! Fortunately some people may learn more than what you shared and that is.......if you have reasonable expectations it will all work out. Nice to see a DVC'er accept whatever comes her way with grace! No matter what happens you will have a great holiday with your positive attitude!

UPDATE!
Called again today. Got BCV 1 bedroom for my two nights next week!
It's just me so I don't NEED a 1 Bedroom, but as I say when you travel like this, you sometimes have to be prepared to burn some points!

That's great CarolA! It does help that you have them and are willing to spend your points so freely! It's so highly unlikely that DH or I would ever do a spur of the moment trip like that. I tend to spend points freely by using them for myself and friends for weekend stays on either end of "family" stays for the seeming customary 5 night weeks at DVC.
Congrats on getting the air deal...I think they are hard to come by.

Sounds like a fabulously decadent trip....last minute luck to spend all by yourself in a one bedroom.....hopefully use the jacuzzi (always say we are going to, hardly ever do) and able to walk around Cresecent lake and over to Epcot.....have a wonderful time!!!
