If I make these big lists and accomplish 2-3 things than I can reward myself w/ a little DIS time throughout the day... What's funny is that is just the little stuff.. there are still a dozen more things that I need to add...

Now you gals can explain to DH why I'm tried when he comes home.. I do actually do work being at home!!!!

OK for today we shall keep it short and easy -

1. Get DD8 off to school on time! done

2. Do last nights dinner dishes. Unload, load and run dishwasher

3. I am sure there is some :laundy: did put one load into the dryer.

4. Maybe attempt to write thank you cards.

DH is out of town and of course the night before he leaves DD of 6 months is diagnosed with RSV.:scared: So it's breathing treatments every 6 hours for me. Have to find things that even though they are not priority they can be done with DD on lap or with a minimum about of mess. :) I have enough mess around here already with the scrapbooking orgnizing and chair reupholstering projects going.

 Maybe I will sneak in a nap!!:cool1: done

Are you EVER going to sew those towels? :confused3

Can't really be throwing stones here, I STILL haven't cleaned that fish tank. I just won't put on my list, 'cause I'm embarrassed.

Yeah, I guess I should be too embarassed to keep putting it on the list...

AlexWyattMommy
01-31-2008, 10:35 AM
But then how will we know when you finish them?

Will you post pics?

I can't sew to save my life, so I am envious of that skill.

I figured you kept putting them there to see if anyone really reads the other lists.

:rotfl2:

I just keep putting it on there in hopes that I'll finally do them...I'm tired of looking at them, and I won't let myself do any fun projects till they are finished. Really, it's just cutting about 4" off each side and hemming...they are "too long"...

I just haven't been in the sewing mood...but once I start I have a few fun projects, like a Tink cover for my Cricut, and some quilted totes (like Vera Bradley) that I'm going to reward myself with :teeth:

Maybe today really is the day :rotfl:

If I send you some material and Jolee's [these are for you to keep] would you make me covers? Just tell me how much material and how many Jolee's.

Some people are making them like a pouch that the cricut goes in. Mine doesn't really travel (yet) so I'm planning on making one with an open bottom, kind of like a tea cozy... I'll post a pic when I get finished... and I'll know better about fabric amount...

Covers? more than one?

AlexWyattMommy

Mine don't travel, so the tea cozy idea would work for me too.

You know, I kept seeing the towels on your list and everytime I think to myself "You can sew your own towels?" It never dawned on me that you could do that. How *do* you do that? Do you get towel material from Joann's or somewhere and then hem the edges? :confused3

Talk about embarassing. My cleaning ladies came this morning and while trying to clean my s/b room (which all they can really do in here is make sure there are no cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and vacuum since I don't want them to touch anything else :rotfl: ) Anyway, one of them tried to throw away a Wendy's cup that's been sitting here for almost 2 weeks, when I practically snatched it out of her hands and showed her that it has a code for a free music download. As soon as I did it, I felt like the biggest loser. Time to actually download a song and throw away the darn cup.

Yup, you can sew your own towels. When the kids were little I was too cheap to buy the hoodie ones for them, so I made them...

I've also done beach towels, and stuff like that, I think that's why my friends mom thought I would be able to hem hers...I'm just being sooo lazy about it...and I'm feeling guilty so I better just get that sewing machine out...

PrincessNancy96
01-31-2008, 11:50 AM
Ok, Debbie... we need a lesson in sewing towels 101 and where to buy the material... (blonde here!).... I could so use some more towels but hate to buy them... and if I can make them at a better price w/ 7 of us..that may be the way to go.... I can sew a straight line!!! :)

You're a better seamstress than I.

My sewing machine make the prettiest stitch, on the top. Underneath, it looks like a fuzzy caterpillar. I'm sure it is something simple to fix, but I'm too simple to fix it. :rotfl:

Terry fabric runs like $5 per yard and up...45" wide... Only skill involved is sewing a straight line.

I used to make ones like these...with store bought towels

Sounds like your tension is off. That is how I fixed my fuzzy caterpillar. Of course, someone who sews more than I do would be able to diagnose better.

OMG! I cleaned DD's dresser... LOVE finding them notes... learn a lot... She does have a good head on her shoulders though.. the response back to one boy about kissing was priceless.. She told him that if he really liked her he'd be willing to wait... if not..that it was his loss... He responded with.. he'd wait...good thing.. if not some little boy would be in big trouble w/ 4 brothers!

Finished the laundry and have it all put away.. that won't happen again any time soon! DD is finishing her homework just in case there is school... I need to check the boys' bookbags both said they didn't have homework.. I hope not or there are going to be some disappointed boys when they return because there will be no TV tonight if I find homework..

then you haven't seen my house.....:rolleyes1

You should see MY house at the moment. I'm not allowed to lift anything due to the level of swelling in my knee and the doctor doesn't want me standing for any length of time so that means that DH is doing most of the housework and all of the laundry since I can't negotiate the steps into the laundry room at the moment.

He ruined three of my favorite shirts last week. :sad1: It is going to take me three months to get the house clean again when I am better as his spot checks are barely adequate. :scared1:

ARGH! I just broke one of my favorite candlesticks! It was in a set of three, now what am I supposed to do with 2??? Stinkin kitchen that needed to be cleaned. :headache:

Household items like favorite candlesticks are DEFINITELY exempt from the BAN. Time to shop!

3. Call doctor's office to follow up on MRI. It's been a week and I've not heard a thing! DONE

4. Pick up Prevacid prescription. Almost out of samples. Not done - the pharmacy didn't have it filled even though it was called in on Tuesday :headache:

5. Finish last 4 pages so I can make my page total for the month. DONE - but I only did 3 so I made my exact goal

6. Take pics of last several completed pages so I can upload and post to appropriate galleries and threads. DONE

7. Sort all of the cardstock I bought yesterday into the appropriate holders/swap bags. Not Done - I took a nap instead.

Today has been a very painful one with my knee. I took a long nap when I got home so I didn't finish my list but the pain is a bit better.

I finally found out what was going on with my MRI today. The referral was sent over on Tuesday but they still haven't called me to schedule. It took a meltdown over the phone to get some info. I still don't have my appointment but they promise they are going to call me first thing in the morning. If they haven't called by 10:00am, I am SO calling them. I am so sick of being constantly in pain. This is ridiculous!!
