I am thinking about arranging a surprise cruise for DH, the kids and me for our 20th anniversary, and have been trying to get info from this board. However, I can't seem to get general, overall information on the Disney cruises. I don't want to have DU or DCL send anything to me, because it would ruin the surprise aspect. Are there any websites, or part of this site, which will give me good general info? I have looked on the Disney site under cruise line, but am not finding what I want. Thanks.

You need to download a copy of the Magical Cruise Guide. Someone help with the url, I can't remember, but I do have a copy and it has been extremely helpful.
Also, when the search is enabled on this board, you can find answers to whatever questions you may have. Keep checking the boards, too. I feel like I'm an expert and my cruise is not until May!

I think Dav'es site has a link to the guide; go to www.dcltribute.com

Also, www.***************** has a link to the guide and to Dave's site (and a few others).

DU also has some info at their website.

Have you been to Disney's cruise site? It really is pretty nice. DisneyCruise.com And there you can get a quote online. Good Luck! :)

Also, check out www.dcltribute.com, which is maintained by Dave from Marietta; and www.*****************, which is inkognito's site. Both have great info. on everything from menus to excursions, and much, much more. Have fun!

Can you pose specific questions here? I am trying to imagine what you can't find from the Disney Cruise site and can't figure out what you might be looking for.

I agree about downloading the Magical Cruise Guide and looking at Dave and Barb's sites for a start, but we are very amiable and I'm sure someone here could give you the information you need.

Another thing you could do is call DCL or go online and order a cruise brochure. Just have it sent to your work address or something like that so DH doesn't see it.

If it were me, I would ask specific questions on this board. We are all more than willing to help in general areas and if you need more specifics- there are experts on this board also. This way- you don't have to read tons of stuff to answer one question or go from board to board wondering where you read that one detail that you can't remember.
Once you get the answers to your main questions and you book, then I would go on to the other sites for all the great details. There is a wealth of info out there.
Good luck to you.

The “Magical Disney Cruise Guide” contains pages upon pages of very valuable information – and it can be printed out also!

And here are sites with really great pictures from both the magic and the wonder ships:

All great suggestions above. And, don't miss out on the DCL video that they will send you. As was suggested above, just send it to an alternate address.

A surprise DCL cruise...GREAT IDEA! We did this for our kids for Christmas and I think they would both tell you it was the best gift ever (and they are 5 and 9).

Oh! And look around the posts here, there have been lots of people who have suprised their families w/ cruises and you can get some great ideas on how to unveil the big secret! I wish I could do a suprise cruise, but I would NEVER be able to keep my mouth shut:D

We are planning a surprise for our DS this Sept. We plan to tell him we are spending the night at the beach and then going to WDW. On "the way to WDW" we will pass the pier and say that we are going to check out the jetty. I guess that will be as far as we get with the suprise once they ask us for our ID and why we are there, though. ;)
