Thanks, We are really happy with them. Honestly it was the best part of the trip for me, as we haven't had family pics done in quite a while.
I think my post was a bit confusing though. Our pics were from a photo shoot. The cost for this is between $49.99(for a picture package) and $99.99 (for pictures and CD), but if you preorder the CD you get 1/2 hour shoot, a package of prints, and a CD with all your pictures for $70.00. If you need extra time you can add on 1/2 hour for $25.00 for each additional 1/2 hour. We booked 1 1/2 hours as there were so many of us, and we wanted several individual pics. We got about 150 pictures. The free pics are available in the lobbies of the resorts during the evenings. I think they do them at WL as well as AKL, Beach Club, Poly, and GF.
Sorry this was so long.

So if you pre-order a regular photopass CD, you can get the $99 package plus 1/2 hr photoshoot for $70?
Do the pics appear on your photopass CD or is it a different CD?
And do you tell them when you reserve the slot that you have the pre-ordered photopass?

The $99 package incldes 1/2 hr photoshoot, and I've heard different answers to the photopass question. Our photographer added them to our photopass, but I've heard some don't. But you do get a separate CD of the photoshoot after the session. If you want additional time with the photographer it is $25 per 1/2 hour added to the package. I did tell them when I booked that I had pre ordered and was told to be sure to bring my confirmation.
Hope this helps

Great photos.

We did one last Dec at Poly and had so much fun. We are hoping to book soon to visit the World in Sept next year and we defo want to do another shoot. Next choice would be AKL as we going to be staying there for the first time and thought a shoot there would be good also. What locations do they shoot you in?

HEEELLLLPPP!! I AM SO CONFUSED! I preordered my photopass cd, and i made a reservation for the portrait session. I asked if all I had to do was bring my email confirmation for the photopass cd to get the 70 rate and the gentleman on the phone said i needed a special code???? I dont see it on my confirmation.

Can anyone tell me how much photo pass Cd is if you pre order? I've read somewhere that you can get a discount if you pre order, if this is true where can do I order this.

And while I'm posting I've read people talking about an offer with resort photos and photo pass cd, again is there somehwere I cna look for this?

Thanks!

Here's a few from our photo session at Animal Kingdom Lodge in early June. It was hot. But, the photographer worked with us and was very patient with my little kiddos. She also accomodated all our ideas. She took family shots inside on the stairs and sitting in a few areas and then outside. Then we did the kiddos together and by themselves. The Lodge is beautiful and the pictures turned out wonderfully. I wish we'd had some with animals behind us, but I forgot to ask and she didn't bring it up.

I posted some of these in a different thread but I'm not sure where that one went...

Has anyone just got the $50 package and was that worth it? I really don't need a ton of pictures or a CD, just a few good shots is all I'm looking for so I would definitely just go for the $50 package..... I think I am going to call tomorrow and book this at Poly for our September trip.... and I am going to be sure to ask if you can pay for it with the Bday Fun Card because that would be awesome!

When you get your CD and edit them on the Photopass website you can make any of them black & white.

We did the GF photo session in June and it was $99 for the session plus 7 5x7 pictures and the CD.

I don't know if the prices are printed anywhere but it seems to be different pricing all the time. When I called to schedule it was a different price and back in December they quoted me a different price and I see from other posts all different prices. Weird.

Hi All……..I’m not sure if this info has been posted. But I did call Disney/POLY and Beach Club and was told the following information (I called both resorts to make sure I wasn’t going to be getting conflicting info)

There are many choices now for a photo shoot and also regarding the Disney Photo Pass.

If you choose to do a private sitting at one of the resort hotels Here are some options

$49.99 + tax (6%) it includes 20 min with the photographer it about 60 to 80 shots
1 of the following Choices
Two 5x7 + 6 poses 2 of each 4 sets of 4x6 so that would be 10 prints all together

Or

Seven 5x7’s

Or

Two 8x10’s + Three 5x7’s

2nd Option
99.95 + tax (6%)
You get the CD of ONLY your photo shoot plus one choice of the above.
This has changed because your no longer allowed to add you park photo’s you take in the theme parks to the CD

There is a different option NOW with the Photo Pass while being in the park
$149.99 + tax (6%) and that includes all your pics in the park you can take your CD home and edit the pictures if you wish (add borders, black & white ETC) this doesn’t include any photo session. This to me doesn’t sound like a very economical option. Because you still get the photopass card and can go home a pick your pic’s and edit them. They did say thou that prints start at 12.00 or so.

I hope this info was helpful :flower3:.

So I booked the Poly resort shoot this morning for early September at 5:30pm, which is the last time slot..... and now I'm concerned about lighting.... I'm really worried that the pictures will turn out too dark but I believe the sun doesn't set until around 7:30 in September.... has anyone else done the 5:30 in September and how did your pics turn out? I'm really thinking of calling to change it and make it earlier in the AM..... also, I had planned on dressing up and wearing my new black dress but other posts I've read had said they suggest to wear light colors, can I ask what is wrong with wearing black? Also, if you don't like any of the pictures taken, do you get a refund? And if you want an extra half hour, do you have to decide that before the shoot, or while its going, can you make the decision to add time on? Thanks for any info!!!

Cant speak for the poly specifically, but we had our photoshoot last September at Beach Club at 5pm - they were taking pictures until about 5:45 and we didnt have any darkness issues! Hopefully you wont either - although I would suggest getting there a bit early just incase they can take you early to really avoid any concerns!

Yes we did the poly last Sept at 5:30 or 6pm and it was good outside, except when she took us on the hill past the beach, the sun was in our eyes.
The pictures outside were not dark at all. This year we are trying the Beach Club resort for the photopass session.

I just booked a photo shoot for 4:15 at the Wilderness Lodge on Aug 24th. I'm worried that it's going to be too hot, but that time worked out perfect since we have a 6pm ADR at Trails End at FW. Does anyone have any insight into this? Do they take pictures inside if it's too hot and humid outside? Does anyone have any WL pics they could share with me? I didn't want the typical beach pictures as both my parents and in-law recently got beach photo shoots done in Myrtle Beach and we wanted something different. I'd love to see the way the WL photos turn out.

Thanks!

Ok- about the black dress thing- I don't see a problem with it- I know when we get pictures down the shore its either white/khaki/black/jean ...some combination of that.

We had a shoot at the poly on August 14th and it was wonderful! we had it at 930 am and although the sun was in our eyes for the outdoor photos she just had our eyes closed until the count of three and they turned out wonderful! I am sorry, I cannot remember the girls name, but we had 139 photos that turned out great with eight of us in the group no less! She also gave us a photopass card beside the cd. We were very pleased!

Ok so have gone through this whole thread again, great pics :)

Me and DF want to do another shoot and can't really narrow it down. We are not really keen on GF or BC as we find that they are not to our tastes (but don't take that the wrong way because the ones we have seen on here look great, they are just not for us).

We feel AKL doesn't have alot of locations and may not be interesting enough for us (again please don't take offense to my comments they are not directed at anyone who has done these shoots).

Last but not least is WL, I noted down someones post on locations and others shoots looked pretty good, but again does it have enough locations to make it fun?

We did a shoot at Poly last year and had so much fun, our PP photographer had alot of fun with us too and was fantastic (Shannon was her name). The locations we posed in were different each time and didn't look too same-y.

So would WL be a good location for us? We like natural shots, get involved with the PP photographer etc.

Thanx
Stefy x

Oops nearly forgot. I wanted to share some of our fav PS pics with you guys :)

We stayed at AKL last December and loved it. Not so sure that there would be a ton of places for photos those.

We opted to have pictures made at WL. The photographer was a grumpy old man who didn't want to honor the $25 coupon I had for the session. It took about 15 minutes (and several managers) to get that worked out. He turned into a grumpier old man after that. There were a lot of places to take pictures though....inside, out by the waterfalls, ,by the rocks and then on the beach. Some of them turned out GREAT!

Thanks for the response. We are staying at AKV for our upcoming trip and I have a toddler so I wanted to do the pictures there for convienence, however I was not crazy about the exterior photo's so I was hoping there were some nice interior locations....I guess it is just wishfull thinking.

Thanx for that, looks like AK is out for a shoot, as much as I love the look of the resort. I'm sorry your experience was bad :(

The WL shoot does sound good, but I don't know if I could put up with a grumpy photographer. I think I would have to request someone else if that happened because these pics are kinda once in a lifetime for me and DF, as we couldn't really have a fun photoshoot in the UK that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

My understanding is that if I pre-order the CD I will get one photo session for $70 and an additional time slot for $25, correct? Do these have to happen consecutively, or can I book an additional session at a different resort on a different day?:confused3 Thanks in advance!

Awww thanks guys!! Ya I'm very satisfied with them.... in fact, I had originally purchased the $50 package before the shoot, and then after seeing the pics, changed my mind and did the $100 cd instead! It was just too hard to pick just a few! I wouldn't have even known about doing the resort photo shoot had it not been for the wonderful disboards! :)

We did the last session of the day, 5:30pm and it worked out perfect! It had started to rain a little beforehand and I was worried I'd have to cancel bc I wanted pics outside but the rain held off and the lighting was great! Have a great trip!

Well, we did our photo shoot at 9:15 am yesterday. As I said, we picked am based on poly's recommendations. I'm not sure why he did though because for all the pix on the beach, the sun was in our eyes which made us squinty. And with the brutal heat, humidity and a 19 month old, it was a much tougher shoot this year than last year. We got some shots but not as many as I would have liked. I'll post some and compare between last year and this year when I get home. Also, don't be late to your shoot! They turned away a family reunion who was 20 minutes late to their shoot because they were so booked. Boy, was that a scene!

I have pre-purchased the photo pass CD but there is no mention of getting the photo session for $70. Do I need a code or certificate or is it just an automatic thing that they do?:confused3

This is my question as well. I pre-ordered the CD last week and am booking our photo shoot on Monday, I think that's the 30-day mark. How do we get this discount? Anyone?

When you call to book it, just tell the CM that you preordered the photopass CD. They will tell you to bring proof with you and you'll get the discounted price. I just brought the email with me.

I booked our session this morning. I spoke with Tom at the Poly and he was helpful. I mentioned that we had preordered the Photopass CD and he said, "Great, you'll get a discount then." It's nice to talk to someone who has a clue, I've called before and talked to people who were less than helpful.

We booked a 10am extended session since there are 10 ppl in our party. I'm hoping the angle of the sun won't be an issue.

So, are PhotoPass pictures from the parks on the Disney's PhotoPass Portrait Session PhotoCD? And is there a separate fee for just the sitting? (is that the discount of $70 that was being referred to?)
I've just read a TON and I'm so confused!!

Anyone do this at WL and have photos to share?
Just booked this today for our upcoming trip. Thought I would do something nice with the kids for some holiday pictures. Now to figure out what to wear. Was thinking of the girls wearing their holiday dresses, but now thinking that may be a bit much? Should I go for something more casual?

Does anyone have any new info on the photo sessions? New prices? How long is the sitting? Where is the best place to do them if you want to see the Castle in the background? I'm a professional photographer so I will be able to get plenty of my kids but I would love to have some great family shots.

We did an "hour-long" shoot at Polynesian last week with Tom as our photographer. I recommend him!

We had a 10am appointment. We started with photos inside the resort lobby, then moved to the beach with the castle in the background, to a pier overlooking the Grand Floridian, had a brief stop at a giant tiki head, and finally to a spot near the Luau location. We had 10 people in our group so we booked an "hour," which is supposed to be 45 minutes of shooting and about 15 minutes of review/ordering. We had about 115 photos shot in that amount of time. There was a bit of walking between locations. My dad has mobility issues so it was slow going between some of the sites; as a result, we were out with the photog a little over an hour.

We did preorder the Photopass CD for $99 (before the new preorder stipulations and restrictions), and I had the confirmation # on email in my cell, which was good enough for a photo session discount. Our total was $101.18; I don't have the receipt at hand so I'm not sure how the prices break down for the first session, the second session, and the discount.

That price included a photo package (we chose 7 5x7 prints) and a CD of all the photos. They were also able to add those photos to our parks Photopass account.

Our attire is by Lands' End. Almost everything we chose was on sale, plus we used a free shipping offer (btw, didn't know this, but you can go into a Sears store and place your Lands' End order with them and get free shipping always - great saving tip!). The nice thing about Lands' End is color consistency across styles, so we could get different tops for the ladies and the colors matched exactly.

Just back - did a photo session at Wilderness Lodge on the 1st.
We did the $99 - got the cd, and 2 8x10's, 3 5x7's we chose.

Our photographer, who I can't recall his name - was FANTASTIC! Very patient with my autistic son and took TONS of pictures and really spent the time with us and got us a lot of variety, too.
The kids really enjoyed doing this, they really had fun with it!

Was going to do my typical holiday pictures at the mall - and then after reading about the photo sessions on here, said you know what, let's try something different! we were staying at WL, and thought oh, that would be perfect for family holiday pictures!
We were also very happy with the quality of the pictures, too!

Here's a few - we also took some indoors at the Christmas tree and other indoor locations.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/tylerjenna/DisneyPhotoImage67.jpg

I like the above shot - but my son was peaking into it! We did get better shots at the bride, but posted this one to show how pretty with the bridge and the lodge in the background.

Back in 2005 my DH and I booked a photo session at Epcot. We were taken into World Showcase prior to the park opening. We got a leather bound photo album. I know this was more $$$ than the current resort photo sessions.

My question is: Do they still offer the theme park photo sessions? I'd love to do one in the MK this summer with my DH and our kids. We're celebrating our 10 year anniversary and this would be such a great way to commemorate that!

Thank you for your help!

We're thinking of doing this in January with our 6-month old. Did those who have had this experience feel that this would be a good idea? We'd be doing portraits of her as well as family shots. And where do you recommend doing it? We're staying at AKL but I like the shots at the Poly and GF so far.

CinBride - You can book your session 30 days in advance I believe. What resort are you doing the session in?

Cinbride
01-17-2010, 12:21 PM
We are staying onsite. I believe if you are staying onsite you will get an email from disney destinations w/ the link inside. We are staying at WL.

So then I can go ahead and book a session and preorder my photopass, then use it at the session? Is there any extra costs?

Stefy
01-17-2010, 12:35 PM
Oh right cool, we are staying on site too so hopefully will get it before we go. Thanx :)

If you preorder the CD, that is just for park photos etc not the photo sessions. Those cost extra, but you get a good discount if you preorder the photo cd. In 2008 it cost us $50 for our session at the Poly.

With regards to booking the session, if you are going within the next 30 days you should be able to book it now.

Hope that helps/clarifies.

We did this last week. Had the basic session which was usually 100-ish dollars, but since we're DVC it was $20 off. Really enjoyed the Beach Club despite the 40 degree weather. We got the pre-order discount through DVC Member services but didn't place the order until just now. After photosession, was given card with session photos which I added to my CD successfully so will have park photos as well as photoshoot photos on same CD.

Can you elaborate on what is offered for DVC? I think I read somewhere about a price break on preordering cd, but what we would be the total cost if we preordered cd and did a resort photo session?

DisneyRN51207
01-26-2010, 10:45 AM
The discount for preordering the CD is over from what they told me when I asked about it. For DVC you get 20% off the 199.95 or whatever package it is. This includes the shoot and photos. There's an option with an 8x10, a few 4x6's and 5x7's one with 7-5x7's and i don't remember what the third package is. All of the photos are put on a CD with high resolution and you get the rights to the photos to make whatever copies you would like. I did order a single print from our in-park photos and get 20% off that as well.

We did this back in May as a big family, and i'm hoping to do this in August with DH for our anniversary. I haven't skimmed all the pages, so have they added any resorts lately? I was thinking the BC would be best for us since we'll be at the BW. Is it still only offered at GF, Poly, WL, BC, and AKL?

I called DVC member services on 1/25 and was given a code for the photopass CD for $50.00 discount. It is not a preorder, but a discount code for after you upload your pics. This is in effect a substitute for the preorder recieved by other resort guests. I was also told that as a DVC member I would get 20% off the resort shoot making it $79.99, close to the preorder price. Call Member Services and see what they can do for you.

Doing research on the photo sessions & just came across this thread!

I love your pics...they are great! I'm glad you mentioned that your kids were tired...I'm worried about my son because he will be 2 1/2 at the time of our photo session at the Poly or GF...I haven't decided yet. (going for Christmas so I want a mix of beach photos & Christmas decor photos!) I'm worried that my son will be too tired (even though I'm going to book in the morning, his nap time is completely random...he used to nap everyday at 12 or 1...now its anytime btw 11:30 and 2pm...) I'm also worried from the reviews I read on here that the photographer won't be good with kids. I'm going to request doing all the indoor photos first because once my son goes onto the beach & sees sand & water, we'll be lucky to get him away from the sand an hour later! lol

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that your pics were great! The kids took great pics even though you said they were tired! Your outfits were great too...I've been trying to decide for months now what we'll wear & am stressed about it more than anything else about our trip! I was leaning towards a light blue & now I think I definitely will go with that! Thanks for sharing! Great pics!

I wonder if thats what I got in the mail also??? I got a coupon that said 20% off a photo session (in the fine print it stated that it excludes the photo cd, prints, etc). They sent it in a booklet that said "since you recently visited, here are some planning tips...etc" (we went last year). Is that the current price? the 199?

I called DVC member services on 1/25 and was given a code for the photopass CD for $50.00 discount. It is not a preorder, but a discount code for after you upload your pics. This is in effect a substitute for the preorder recieved by other resort guests. I was also told that as a DVC member I would get 20% off the resort shoot making it $79.99, close to the preorder price. Call Member Services and see what they can do for you.
What if you aren't a DVC member? Any discounts? I got the 20% off in the mail (just because we visited last year & Disney Destinations sent us a "visit us again" booklet) but if the regular price is $199, thats still pretty expensive...still over $150 and I was planning for it to be $75-90.

Hi all...
I'm slightly confused...
We might be interested in this for our honeymoon at ALK.
Do we just call the regular reservation line? How far in advance can we book? Is it true that you CANNOT add photopass park pics on if you buy the cd?
Thanks

Hello heatherandnick...you are able to book the Private Photo Sessions 30 days prior to your trip. You can call the reservation number (407) 824-1700 to schedule your session. I believe this number is only for photo session reservations. They say that the sessions are available from 8am-7pm (or sunset whichever is sooner). You can schedule at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Someone else will have to back me up on this one because I'm not 100%...it seems that everyone has a different opinion on it. But I'm pretty sure you are able to add your Photopass pics from the parks onto the Private Session CD for $50 extra. I've heard people say this & I've also heard them say that sometimes the photographer will give you a Photopass card with your entire session on it (so you are able to go back into your photos later & add borders or enhancements to them).

So, lets say you are on vacation for 7 days...on the 3rd day of your trip, you have the private photo session...you can give the photographer your photopass cards from the parks up to this point...then they will add those photos to your CD for you. I was told this is free...BUT if you come back on day 7 and want day 4, 5, 6 and 7's photopass pics added to the CD, they charge you $50 extra. Can someone please confirm this is true? I'm confused as well & don't want to give out false info. I've done tons and tons of research on this, but it seems like everyone has a different price & procedure for the CDs!

When we walked way from our resort photo session, we had our CD with photos taken that day in hand. So there would be no way to add later trip photos without burning a new CD.

With regular in-park Photopass photos, you order your CD after the trip, or I suppose you could take one home from the parks the last day of your trip.

Our photographer added our session photos to our Photopass account, so we got the resort session CD that day, and then the photos were also available on our Photopass account so we could add borders, etc., and came on the CD we ordered after the trip. So we received the resort session photos two ways.

I'm hoping they still do that...I've heard so many different things about it. It seems to me it just depends on the CM you get for a photographer. I know that you get the CD right there & then, but I'm hoping our photographer will also add them to PhotoPass...did you have to ask or did they just do it? I figure if they don't do it automatically I will just ask...the worst they can say is "no" right? I would love to have the pics on the CD & PhotoPass so I can add the borders to them, especially because we are going for Christmas & I'd like to add the holiday borders or characters to the photos.

Thanks again for the info!

I don't know why it would be a hassle for them -- seemed to me like he scanned a PhotoPass card and handed it to us without our asking for them.

If you're at the Poly, ask for Tom. He was our photog and he was GREAT!

I had 2 photopass sessions a few years ago ('07 and '08) but things have changed. Can someone please tell me the current costs for:

1) Regular Photopass CD (~$150?)

2) Photopass Session + CD (~$50 + ~$100?)

Is there a discount to combine #1 and #2 together?

I am a DVC Member so I will also call 30 days prior to my trip to see if I can get the extra discount mentioned by a PP.

Finally, if we have a group of 6 adults and 4 kids, will one 20-30 minute session really be enough time to get all the assorted photos (kids only, adults only, 3 individual families, full group, etc).

It seemed to me that the 20 minutes went extremely quickly when it was just the 3 of us.... For those who did this with a large group, would it be better to purchase an additional time slot ($50?) but still get all the photos on one CD?

Many Thanks!

Marshay, we were a group of 10 and purchased an additional half-hour for our session at the Poly. It worked out well. If we'd have only booked the one session we would only have had time for one or two settings, but with the longer session we had photos at 5-6 places.

no, adding the second "half hour" (not quite) was less than the first booked hour. Sorry, I don't think we have a receipt, and it's probably changed by now anyway.

Thanks! I'll just give them a call closer to our travel. If it's not t-o-o much more for the 2nd time slot, that would make the most sense for our group of 10 (3 families).

alright, so am I reading this correct? If you purchase the photopass CD, the photoshoot is not longer included. If you want to do the photoshoot, it is $150 alone. Then if you want the photopass CD from pics from the park, ect, that is another $150? If you did the photoshoot and also got all your other photopass pics it would be $300?:confused3:scared1:

PLEASE HELP!!! What are the prices?

Stefy

If you preorder the CD you get a discount off of the photoshoot. If you decide not to preorder the CD then you would have to pay full price. Hope that helps :thumbsup2

If you get the resort photopass CD, they include a photopass card in the box. When you get home, you can just add the code from that photopass card along with your others from the park when you order the Parks Photopass CD. The resort pictures will then be on the same CD as your parks pictures. The photopass photographer doesn't "add them" to your photopass.

Ok. Thank you for clarifying that for me! There is sooo much information on pricing & the photopass card out there that it gets overwhelming. I still don't understand what the final costs will be once I pre-pay for the photopass CD and then get the private session.

Thats great that they will just give you the photopass cd of the pics from the session (if you purchase the cd). Thats what I wanted to hear! :)

FYI, I just talked to Dan a Photopass portrait CM at the GF. I called about a coupon I received today in a Welcome packet for 20% off any Disney's PhotoPass Professional Portrait Package. I asked him how the 20% off works if you pre-order the regular PhotoPass CD (i.e. getting the $70 price instead of the full price).

He said the preorder discount had been discontinued and that this new 20% coupon was its replacement. My coupon came in the mail and expires 1-31-2011. You must give them this paper coupon to get the discount according to them.

Just thought I would let all of you know about this information.

I just back from Disney and had a session at the Poly. We went with the extra 20 minute session and used the 20% coupon and our total was $106. We got the photo CD, a photopass card which I was able to add online to my photopass CD, and 7 5x7s. Our photographer was able to get about 120 shots some great, some good, and some not so good. Here are some of my favorites. Sorry for the size, I couldn't figure out how to make smaller.

Just back... had the toughest time deciding between Poly, GF or BC for our photoshoot. Figured go with Beach Club, wanted flowers in pictures, and we like the blue of the resort building. Then came what for girls to wear? After figuring it all out finally, here are the results! The pink shirts matched the pink flowers, then my son in blue matched the BC itself.

oh, and appointment was for 12:00 - yep, very sunny and tons of squinting. Whenever we visit BC we like walking out to the bridge that leads to the bus stop and always seem to get a shot of my daughter out there. So since sun was terrible, I asked the photographer if we could go out front. Said he never did before, but okay, let's try it! When we came back and were viewing the shots, another photog was like where did you take these? I am assuming they never thought to go out front before? Our photographer seemed happy with the results we got from going out front. He was wonderful, by the way!
our best shots came from out front - and no sun in our eyes, and great backgrounds! Only ones from out back are the beach shot and the butterfly shots.

So here goes:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/tylerjenna/Disney/DisneyPhotoImage2.jpg

My son is autistic and running around a ton, tough to photograph. He's actually sitting in the stroller and the photog posed the girls around him to block the view of the stroller.

LOVE this next one! - and love the villas in the background, just the color of the building!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/tylerjenna/Disney/DisneyPhotoImage18.jpg

I wanted the banners in the background!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/tylerjenna/Disney/DisneyPhotoImage19.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/tylerjenna/Disney/DisneyPhotoImage74.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/tylerjenna/Disney/DisneyPhotoImage80.jpg

wanted more on the beach, but can see from above shot, the sun was an issue. most pics had a lot more squinting than this in them.
I didn't want the Boardwalk in the background... wanted beach, flower gardens, BC in background... so it all worked out great, LOVE how they came out!
We really wanted the Poly at first, but felt we didn't want tropical type flowers, wanted more springy flowers and feel to the pictures than tropical.

My only problem is I wanted a Saturday so they may be a little busier, but I'm flexible so I have a few different "free days" or days where we don't know which park to go to yet, so I could always schedule it for one of those as well.

But we are going in December which do you think would be better for Christmas shots? Or do you think we should do a half hour at 2 different hotels?? Does the Prepaid Photopass cd work with discounts anymore??

Christmas photos at Poly could be really cute. :santa:

You could have your family wear red and green hawaiian shirts and dresses to make the photos more christmasy :santa: (there are tons of hawaiian clothing online stores).

I haven't had my pictures taken at the Poly yet...but we have stayed at the Poly over Christmas and it was very Christmasy:) Think Christmas in Hawaii

I think that would be a great idea. My uncle's mother lives in hawaii and they have tons of hawaiian outfits i could shop in my aunts closet :rotfl2: I cannot wait to go for christmas time i have never been out of all the trips i have taken.:santa: We are trying to decide if we should do an hour photoshoot at the poly since we will each be on a seperate pkg or go with 2 different hotels. does anyone else have ideas, comments, or done two different hotel shoots in one trip?:yay:

We didn't go at Christmas, but I thought I might want to use one of our photos for our card (I didn't end up doing it though), so we all wore red. DD wore a red dress, I wored a red top with khaki capris, and DH and DD wore red polos with khaki shorts. Red looks really nice with the Poly landscaping! And even the beach pics really popped! We've done the all white or white/khaki at the beach a few times, that always looks great. But this was nice for something different.

Without reading through 145 pages...where can I find the latest info on prices of photosessions. I thought I read awhile back that they no longer can be added to you photopass, or if so it was some really high price to do so. Is that right?
Any info would be great. Thanks

Ok, went to this website and still confused about adding resort photo session to photopass. I guess basically if you buy the $49 resort package you can add them to the $99 photopass cd when you purchase that also? Are they charging a sitting fee? TIA

the resort photopass session is completely different than the park photopass.

I was told when I made my appt that it's $99.95 for a resort photo package and a CD of all my picutres on it.

So, to sum it up... you can pre-order you park CD and then you buy your resort photos and CD when you get your pictures taken. If you don't want the CD then I believe it's $49.95.

Does anyone know if they will be adding OKW to this. We are not sure of the dates for our trip yet. Will probably be either Mid March or 3rd week in May. Would love to have done at OKW as that is our favorite resort but if they do not add it then BC, Poly, or GF would be okay with me. DS is 23, DS21 & DD15. Will be interesting Oldest and youngest are both SN.

I didn't inquire about how far in advance you can now book but the girl said they just changed it and can now make reservations "that far out" talking about October (I am now 79 days away :cool1: )

Just thought I would pass it along. I called 407-824-1700

Cost - $99.95 includes photo CD and a small print package # of photos depends on what sizes you pick.

I am going to stop by Sears today while out doing my running around and see if I can get them ordered there with free shipping.

I booked our session today at AKL for 26 Dec at 4:00PM! :) The latest time they offered me for that day was 4:45PM. The package options the CM offered me were $124.95 for 40 minutes, a CD, and the print package, $99.95 for 20 minutes, a CD, and the print package, and $49.95 for 20 minutes and the print package.

She told me we would decide what package we wanted when we got there, which sounded odd to me since it seems like they would want to know if you wanted 40 or 20 minutes. I asked twice, though to be sure. We know we want 40 minutes. Should I call back to make sure they know we want 40 minutes?

Hi,

I have just booked our session for my fiancee and me, I was given two options when I booked either a £49.95 package which gave us a 20 min sesh and up to 7 7x5 prints or a £99.95 package which is a 20 min sesh up to 7 7x5prints and the CD.

I told the CM I was going to pre order the photopass online for the parks and could i combine them or do i get any discount for having the two and she told me No that they were completley seperate and I do not get any discount!

Does anybody know if this is right as i thought you got a special price if you prepaid a CD? have they stopped doing this?:confused3

Based on what I've read, you could easily do a 9:00 session and arrive early to your ADR. I think you could book the session for as late as 9:45 and still make your ADR if you do the session at the Poly. We haven't ever been to Kona, but we usually plan on about 2 hours for a sit-down meal.

Hope this helps! :)

Hey LL - as far as what I know, I don't think they can. It's only when you get the CD package that they add the pictures to your Photopass and then you can add borders. Otherwise the CD and the prints are just the straight up pictures.

You pick them out after the shoot and they print them right there. We did the $99 one and received our CD, a photopass card with all the pictures and the prints that we picked out.

Nope, they don't add borders but will give you the pictures on the photopass so you can do it yourself (at least with the $99 package, we got them on photopass as well).

I would do the session before you eat (just in case something spills on your clothes). When we did ours, they said it would be about 20 or 30 minutes while they upload the pictures before we could view them. So I would suggest doing the session, eating and then going back to view them and pick out the ones you want. The photopass location is right across the lobby from Kona - very easy :)

I am assuming this is a separate Photopass card to the ones you can use in the parks. But what is the point of the card if you have the images on the CD already? Is that so you can add the pics to your PP account if you are ordering PhotoPass (the regular park one) anyway? :confused3

Is it a physical voucher or a code? J&C@Disney would have booked through Disney UK. It is very likely that they are not sending out the same promotions / benefits with booking as the US are being offered. I wonder if I should just take a pot shot and ask them, since I also booked through Disney, albeit the Disney UK office.

Did you book through Disney? If so you should have received a little welcome package, including a little brochure directed just to you, including info on when you're going and where your staying. On the last page there's a little blurb about the photo session which tells about the 20% off. At least, that's where I got mine!

Did you book room only or a package? I have always booked a package in the past at a value and never got the bookelt before. I have now booked 2 nights for a deluxe, room onlyn and the rest at a value, package. I got the booklet all about the deluxe and the discount, but nothing about the package again. so I don't know if it's because I booked a deluxe or room only this time around.

They might not be shooting that late. I think I read that the last appointment in Dec is like 4...maybe 5. so I know they don't go too late then. Of course sunset is probably earlier then as well.

Thanks. I'm going in October so hoping they will be doing it a little later, but if not it's no sweat. I would rather have the shoot than none at all, even if it isn't my first choice of time we have a 'free' day to play with so it won't be to our detriment. Thank you for your help.

We booked through Disney UK, so I guess they don't send them through the UK, I think i'm going to be a bit cheeky and ask at the desk when we arrive, the only thing they can do is say no!

I had a similar plan in mind :rotfl: It has occurred to me that perhaps these discounts are being offered to guests actually staying at one of the Deluxe resorts that host the photo sessions, which I am not.

Nope, I'm staying at a moderate and the offer was in the back of my welcome booklet. Actually ended up with 2 because I changed dates of reservation and got a second booklet.

Hi there, I'm staying at the Contemporary. I booked online, with the deluxe dining plan and celebrating our anniversary and dh's birthday. I recieved a little book welcoming us and telling us all the things we could do and places to eat. On the last page of the booklet was a discount coupon for 20% off a Photo Session. Good through Dec 31st I believe.:goodvibes

For those of you who have received the 20% off coupon, do you have to have it when you book or do you just present it at the time of the session. I have already booked our session, but we haven't received our welcome packet yet.

I booked it at the GF for December, and he told me just to bring it with me when we go. There's no code to give them, so you just have to remember to bring it!

Seriously though, we were wondering if it was a hard voucher or a discount code. I am still going to ask when we get there though. I think it sounds like it is thrown in with the US welcome pack.

We got an actual coupon in our welcome booklet, not a code. We are staying at a value resort this time, so you don't have to be staying where they do the actual sessions.

Thanks for the responeses. I don't think I've ever made it through a meal without something on me! LOL! Definitely a good idea to do the photoshoot first. Thanks!

A couple questions about that coupons again (sorry, I'm confused)
The 20% coupon comes in a booklet - is this when you arrive or sent before you leave for your trip? Is it for those who book a package only, or do plain room reservations get one too? Thanks!

I got mine right after I booked AKL, which was a few weeks ago. The booking is for Dec. I have Pop also booked for later in the trip and booked that back when free dining was announced and never got anything for that. My AKL is a room only resevation. Pop is a package. Teh booklet was about AKL and on the back page it says I can get 20% off a resort photosession, but it's not an actual coupon or code.

Perhaps they are giving out discounts in different forms for different types of reservations :confused3 If DD goes to sleep at a reasonable hour I will call them and ask this evening. Anyone know what time they close the phone lines during the week?

How do you guys all decide what color to wear in your photos? We will be doing a photo shoot in November to use as photo gifts for Christmas, and I can't decide what color we should all wear, or how to make sure the colors really match.

We'll be at the Poly for the shoot. I see a lot of people choose white, but I have never liked how I look in white...I was thinking Navy...???

I also thought of blue as a back up color. We are doing a Poly shoot and someone posted that they were advised against wearing white by one of the CMs. Apparently it is very reflective (makes sense). However I had gone and bought two nice tops for DD and I in white as it is one color we both look good in. Now I wonder if I made a mistake. I thought blue would be the next best. Pink would suit us better, but I don't know how it will go with the backgrounds at the Poly. Navy sounds like a great choice.

Thanks for the reinforcement...I think we are really leaning towards navy since my DH and DS will be in the picture. A nice deep pink like fuscia is actually my best color, but not so great for the guys :rotfl:

I guess we'll go with navy polos and khaki shorts for the guys, a navy top and khaki capris for me, and a navy sundress for DD...

Now I just have to find all of that :rotfl2:

When in November? I similarly have the opposite dilemma: I WANT to wear blue jeans (hence the white shirts which I thought would go nicely), but will mid October still be too hot for jeans? Perhaps I will put some shorts in my backpack and we can change if need be. We will just need to be sure to arrive at the Poly early in case.

That's funny that you were told not to wear white...Barry at GF said white was a good color. But we're going with varying shades of darker blue. And jeans. We'll be there in December, and with the shoot at 4 I'm sure it'll be cool enough for jeans.

I love my jeans! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I look for any excuse to wear them since my work dress code would not allow for them

I wasn't told directly not to wear white. Someone posted, on another thread I think, that this was the advice given to them when they booked their shoot. It wasn't mentioned to me when I booked mine, but it seems the odd person has been told this. It may depend also on the time of day. Standing in the glaring sun in white may not be the best idea and I do get this, but I am hoping that a 4.45 pm timeslot in mid October will not pose too much of a problem - just hoping not to have too much afternoon glare.

This is a family trip with me and my daughter, my Mom, two brothers, SIL and niece . We're having our photoshoot at the Poly 9/27. I did one previously at the Grand Floridian and they came out great. I wanted matching polos but in the end couldn't find anything at Disney that was the same color in womens, mens and childrens. My then husband wore maroon, my daughter and I wore pink. It was beautiful. GF was nice because there were so many different places for pictures! But I wanted something different this time.

My CM advised me to wear something bright at the poly. She said that a lot of the backgrounds are brown and dark colors can blend into the scenery a bit. I've been told white isn't a good color a few times. It reflects light and sometimes in the pictures it all blends together.

But you know what? I'm sure it's FINE to wear whatever color you want! We choose Red as a theme this time. I figured the boys would want marooon and the girls would choose various colors of red and pink for the girls. Well, seems like everyone wants to wear pink now! Too funny, lol.

I was worried about the "no white" advice I heard earlier, as we were planning on white for the girls and blue for the guys.

The very nice CM (I think it was Michelle?) I called told me that it depends on the time of day and the place you are having pictures done, but it really didn't matter, as most of the pictures turn out great. She said the main thing is do not wear patterns, especially if they are all busy and different, because it is visually distracting. But she added that there was a picture done of a family all in "paint splatter" shirts that was gorgeous!

I wonder if, as pp said, white is worse in the mid-afternoon sun? We are having our done at the BC at 9am, and she said white would be fine, and that it is a popular color. Now I am thinking white pants for myself and a royal blue shirt. DS and DH will have blue polo shirts and khaki shorts. (although DS wants to wear a Hawaiian shirt - sheesh. I'll have to "forget" to bring it)

Would the blues at the BC "blend in?"

I would have thought that blue and white or red and white would be perfect for the nautical theme at BC. But then I don't know a whole lot about photography or I would be doing the pics myself

Just a note from an amateur-plus photographer . . . white is generally NOT a good choice for portraits--it is hard to see the shadows and highlights, ie. it can look washed out. Everyone in white standing close together can easily look like they are wearing one great big shirt :goodvibes (There are whole books on How To Take A Brides Picture, it is that difficult :confused3)

That said, if the people aren't close-up and are spread out , it is usually OK (for example, a family beach scene with everyone in white-tees and jeans is a classic).

So do you think if it is just me and my 8 year old DD and we have white tops on and blue jeans that it might be okay? Much as I would like us to use the ones I bought, it is still cheaper to buy 2 shirts than to 'ruin' a photo session, if you know what I mean. It will be about 5 pm in mid October. I don't know where the sun would be relative to where they are taking photos so it's hard to guage.
