Has anyone done the photoshoot for $25 that was also doing a PhotoPass Share CD? (Going in with other people to get a discounted PhotoPass CD)

Yes I did in October and my share person deleted the code off of it just to be on the safe side. They asked me about it at Poly and I just laughed it off and said that I would want to lose the paper and have someone else get a hold of my code and they said smart thinking....LOL!!

Ugh! I have to admit that I have been worried about this happening just because of the email saying it is for GF only. I hate having to argue when I'm on vacation. Sorry you had that experience-it really sucks all the joy out of things.

I feel bad that MomtoAlexnWilliam had such a bad experience with her session because mine - on the same morning just before hers - was fabulous. My session was at 9:30am at the Wilderness Lodge. We checked in at 9:25am and handed them our confirmation email. He stamped it, kept the copy and told us to go pay $25 for the session in the gift shop. We did and off we went.

I was surprised at the end of the session that we only got our photos on a Photopass card instead of the CD as I figured I would have to argue to get that. There was no mention of a CD however and I was fine with that since I didn't need/want one anyway as I wanted to add embellishments before getting my CD.

There was absolutely no confusion whatsoever regarding the $25 pricing. I'm not sure what happened after we left as our photographer told us he would be there until 10:00pm that evening taking pics.

My best advice to you is to call your resort and have them add a note to your record regarding your offer email. There was a note on our appointment and the guys at the PP desk were expecting the email when we arrived. I hope that helps!!!

Has anyone done the photoshoot for $25 that was also doing a PhotoPass Share CD? (Going in with other people to get a discounted PhotoPass CD)

I am hosting a share and both I and one of the participants had a photo session and used the email to get the discount. No one questioned her and the confirmation had my name on it.

We had a photo session at the GF on Dec 17. We had Evelyn as our photographer and she was wonderful. We had a total of about 80 pictures taken. We did prepurchase the CD, and we were able to use the $25 photoshoot price that was on our email receipt. There was no problem at all.

After the shoot, we were given a cd with all our photoshoot pictures on it, plus the photopass card for those photos. Now that I'm home, I am combining all the cards and will order my cd.

Our pictures came out wonderful! There is one of my kids that looks tons better than the photo of them taken at the 'professional photographer' in town, which cost us a small fortune!

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Richard happened across this thread? :rotfl2: :lmao:

Wow, I know that this particular part of the thread I am quoting is from July (page 45 I think?) but I was reading the thread and on the last page and accidentally clicked back and found this! While it would indeed be funny if Richard from Lakeland, FL himself were reading this it is a bit funny that I, Jamie, who am his daughter clicked into it! Haha. I'm glad you all like my dad's photographs and that they made your family happy!!! I'll be sure to pass along the appreciation! He truly does love his job. :)

I'm going to apologize in advance for asking a question that's probably already been asked. :flower3:

I am getting close to scheduling a photo session for the WL. We have an 8:45 ADR, and a 5:15 ADR. Both are at Whispering Canyon (this is our "break day" and as tempted as I was to go to Boma for breakfast, we decided we are not using transportation that day). So, considering sunlight/weather conditions, would it be better to schedule the session for shortly after breakfast, or shortly before dinner? I want to keep the middle of the day open for swimming, Sea Raycers & the like.

IMHO, Im thinking schedule for after breakfast so you dont have to worry about swimmer's hair or having to get dressed and getting to your appointment.

hi everyone, I've lurked on this thread from page one and would like some opinions. my family and I will be in WDW in late April, and I am wondering which location to get this photo session at, if God willing when I pre-order my photo CD the $25 offer is still there.

Here are the pictures from our Sept photo shoot. We did two, one with my husband and I at the Grand Floridian, and one with my in laws at Wilderness Lodge. Both were great. We got the deal for 25, but would have paid 75.

We had our pics done last week at the Polynesian, and I would highly recommend them. I think our photographer's name was Beth.....and she was FANTASTIC. A real gem (she made it FUN for all of us :thumbsup2 )

Pics turned out very well, and we got 53 in total (of course, I've since tripled that or better with the borders on the photopass site :rotfl2: ). She used several different areas of the resort (along the docks, on the white sand beach, inside by the waterfall, on the hammock, against the trees, with the castle in the background, in front of the resort, in front of the coloured sails, etc.) so we had a nice variety of shots. We had the pictures done at noon, so it was VERY bright and sunny (we were kind of squinty in a some of the photos as a result) but overall, it was a great time and a fantastic value for $25.

Having them done at the Poly was very convenient for us, as we had a late breakfast reservation at Ohanas and just popped over for pictures afterward. They only had 3 sessions booked that day......I was amazed! Apparently they are not really busy there so you might have a good selection of times to choose from.

I will post some pics as soon as I read through the tutorial on how to do so.....guess I'll be making a Photobucket account soon. :scratchin

I'm thinking about doing this when we go back in August . It's been a few years since we've had family portraits done. But my problem is which resort? I've seen some really good ones at Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge! :confused3 Any suggestions? It will be Me (36) , DH (37), DD (14),
DS(10).

I can tell you that we did the Poly shoot and were totally disappointed. Had I paid more than $25, I would have been upset. The photographer was absolutelly awful. Now our shoot at GF came out awesome and we had a great photographer there. I think the shoots have less to do with the resort choice (because they are all beautiful) and more to do with WHO will be shooting your pics. It would be nice if you could request a photographer, that probably would have helped us avoid the wasted session at the Poly.

We just got back from our stay and had this done at WL. The photos came out great and we had Julie as our photographer. She made sure that the photos came out as she said that she had not done an afternoon shoot at WL before. We were able to get it for the $25 rate as we had pre-ordered the cd and had a copy of the email with us. We booked while at WL and were able to book one day out. They had it completely open from what I saw on their appointments book. We chose red for the photos and I'll try to link one a bit later. If we do this again, I think we'll go with white as it seemed to look better. It just happened that between all four of us red was all we had in common. We were pleased and ended up with close to 70 photos and received a cd and the photopass card so we've been adding borders to a few, but most stand out on their own without needing a border. :thumbsup2

I totally agree. We did our session at the Poly and were thrilled with the pictures. Had a FANTASTIC :thumbsup2 photographer (Beth) who made it a ton of fun, even for my 13-year-old son who would normally rather have his eyeballs poked out :crazy2: than sit through a portrait session.

Question

We are planning on having a photo shoot at the Poly on our trip that will be from April 25th - May 3/09. We were considering doing the photo shoot and then breakfast at Ohana's. How much time between each should we leave?
Should we book an 8am photo shoot and a 9am breakfast or later? We are a family of 6 going (2 children, 2 grandparents and us the parents). Or should we book the breakfast first and hope the kids don't spill and then book a photo shoot..

They tell you to allow 30 minutes for the photo shoot, give or take a few. I think you'd be fine for 8am photoshoot with 9am ADR's. Just arrive a few minutes before your photoshoot to take care of business ($$). I'd also tell your photographer you have 9am ADR's, just so they don't dillydally during the shoot. Usually it takes about 15 minutes after your shoot is done to quickly review the photos and then for them to burn your disc. You'll probably have a few minutes to spare before Ohana's (and somebody in your party can just run over and check you in there while your waiting for your disc).

We are going to be having ours done on Monday the 26th at GF, I pre ordered the cd and book and I did not see anywhere on the email about $25 sitting fee, when I booked our session the cm told us that it would 75 since we pre paid for the photo pass cd......am I missing something?? Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying the $75 but if I could get it for $25 that would be even better kwim???

Can someone who has had their photos done at the GF tell me if you were able to use the gazebo for pics? I have enjoyed looking at everyone's pics but I don't remember seeing any in the gazebo. I'm debating between the GF and BC but the BC doesn't have a gazebo (it's on YC grounds apparently) so if I can get gazebo shots, then I will have to pick the GF.

Thanks.

where are people getting the email with the $25 offer and the option to pre-purchase the CD? There is nothing on the photopass site about it so I'm wondering if I'd need to call and try to book it to get that information or how it works. We are only 15 days out from our trip and may be out of luck anyways but I'm definitely thinking about it!

My bigger challenge would be figuring out where and when to do it since all of our ADR's are at night and it'll be too dark for a session then!

Thanks

If you prepurchase the photo cd only, the $25 offer is at the bottom of your confirmation email in the fine print. You have to bring a copy of your confirmation email in order to get the $25 session fee at the resort.

Yes. The castle is in the background of many of our pics from our Poly shoot.

Can you still get the photoshoot for $25? I didn't bother booking one in Dec because they said after Sept they were charging a small fortune for them. We did it in Sept at Wilderness Lodge with the pre-ordered photopass and would love to do it again in May if they still offer it at the discounted rate.

Curious as well!! How early in advance can you preorder the CD? We're going May 1. I'm expecting our tax return this Friday, will pay the trip in full and then want to do some of the extras.

Also, is it still the case that you cannot preorder the CD AND Photobook and get the $25 email? I read where someone placed 2 orders - just the CD and then the CD/Photobook and cancelled the just CD order for a refund. But they had the email with the $25 offer. Would that work? Is it nuts, LOL?

I ordered mine 2/4 (just the CD, not book) and it still has the $25 language. It still just says Grand Floridian, so we'll see if they will honor it at Wilderness Lodge. I know they have for others, but I'm not counting on it.

We did the Wilderness Lodge and they turned out wonderful. They only asked to see a print out of the photopass confirmation and they honoured it there even thought it only said the Grand Floridian.

Do they honor the $25 CD at all locations (AKL in particular), or does it depend on the CMs working? I did the photoshoot at the WL back in Sept and want to do it again in April at the AKL, but I couldn't afford it if I couldn't get the $25 offer...so funny, because there was such a big to do back in Sept because I just barely made the cutoff where the prices were going up and I just happened upon this thread and saw the $25 offer still being honored. I'm crossing my fingers that I get to do this again. Our pictures came out so fantastic last time!

They were honoring the $25 sitting fee at AKL at Christmas. Just make sure you mention that you have the email offer when you book and they will just tell you to bring a copy of your email showing it. Otherwise, it is $75.

I love the idea of the beach and the castle in the background, but our son's room is going to be a jungle theme and we thought AK would be nice. Any thougts? Suggestions? I just called 407-824-1700 @ grand floridian and was told everything including sitting fee is $149.95 and that it includes 6 resorts to choose from. Average amount of pics taken 30-60. Has anyone gone lately?

Ok, I just ordered the photo cd, for $99.95 and the very small print is still there. If I had not read others post this morning, I would have missed it. I also was informed if you want to add another resort to your potrait sitting , you can pay an additional $50.00 for a 1/2 hr. session.

You must present a printed copy of this email to purchase a Resort portrait sitting for $25 at our Grand Floridian Resort location.

I called today to make my reservation for the end of March and I was told I had to wait until 30 days out. It would be $150.00 for 1/2 hour and I would get the CD with permission to print the pictures anywhere. If you are a DVC member, there is a 20% off discount according to our "perks". It just says to bring your DVC card.
When you call the number it will ask you which resort you would like to book and you are connected to the photo pass desk at the particular resort.

I hope this helps!:)

The offer is only on the confirmation when you order the CD only. Those who did the CD and photobook in the past did not receive the $25 offer.

I've read where folks have purchased the CD + photo book in one order and then just the CD in another. Then they cancel the "just CD" order, but still have the email confirmation with the $25 verbage.

Hi, I am doing a photoshare and was wondering how it is that this works if we want the discounted price for the photoshoot. I spoke to the person who is administrating the photoshoot and asked for a copy of the confirmation email, and she said that someone else in the share had already asked for it.
Can only one person benefit from the email, and does Disney actually keep track of that order number so only one person can use it? Or have families shared the CD order number and set up 2 different photoshoots with that same CD confirmation email?
Thanks...I hope this post isn't too confusing! :)

It can be used more than once. We did a solo photoshoot and then a photoshoot with another family using ours and encountered no problems. So if they are keeping track, they surely dropped the ball with us.

The offer is only on the confirmation when you order the CD only. Those who did the CD and photobook in the past did not receive the $25 offer.

I called the PhotoPass folks. They wouldn't let me cancel my CD/book order and reorder just the CD. They would, however, let me cancel the book portion of my CD/book order now or when I return home from WDW. Apparently, some folks don't get enough good photos for the 20 page book, and Disney is nice enough to refund the book portion of the order even though the e-mail with the CD and order codes indicate that you won't get a full or partial refund if the codes are used. I don't think that I would end up with the $25 private photo session offer if I cancelled the book portion of my order.

So, you can all learn from my mistake. Don't preorder the CD/book combo if you're trying to get the e-mail with the $25 private photo session offer.

Hi Melissa,

Does the $25 offer have a exp. date on it? Just wondering I don't go until the end of april.

Melissa

The email does not have an expiration date for either the code for the CD purchase or the $25 offer. However, having read through the boards, it is my understanding that the code will expire after 60 days. if that happens, I am willing to go through the hassle of getting the code reinstated when it's finally time for our trip. I had the $100 from tax return for the photopass cd and wanted to order it now.

Word of warning...if you pre-order the CD AND the photobook together, you will NOT get the $25 session offer. I guess it remains to be seen if they will still honor this $25 portrait session as we get later in the year. I think they will honor it...at least I'm hoping they will!

Good luck!

I just set up a photoshoot for the Wilderness Lodge with my $25 offer and there was no problem. All that the photographer said was make sure you bring the email or they will have to charge us the full amount. And I first called the Grand Floridian, since it was the only one mentioned on the email and she said the same thing and told me that it would be honored at all 6 locations, so that is why we opted for the Wilderness Lodge.

Just wanted to share. And the main photopass number for the professional pictures is 407-934-4004 and you press a number based on what resort you want the session.

The problem with the sessions is that you never know what photographer you will get and IMO that is the deciding factor in how well your pictures turn out. We had one amazing photographer at GF and if I had to, I would have paid $75 for the session. At the Poly, our photographer was awful. I was irritated I even had to pay $25, so it really is a gamble.

You summed up my hesitation perfectly! I'd be willing to take a gamble for $25 but $75 is making me think twice. I'm trying to decide if I should take the money I'd pay for the session and the PhotoPass park CD and put it toward hiring a photographer here at home. Although there is something special about the resort as the backdrop. Good thing I have a while to decide because I still don't know what to do :confused3 .

I'm thinking about skipping this now that it's $75. Just go with the PhotoPass CD (which we haven't done before) and try to get some nice family photos in the parks. I'd love to do the Poly shoot, but just don't know if I want to spend that much and then still pay to get the actual photos printed in larger sizes, etc.

I totally agree that I'm not sure it's worth $75--I wasn't even sure it was worth $25 :lmao: --we got them done at GF @ they were ok- not great and certainly would have had better ones if I used my tripod--but whe we went it had just started & it was free--so not big deal...but like the other posters said -you never know what you are going to get. Does anyone have any SSR photo session pics? I tried to look through the whole thread for some, but with as many pages as there are, I had trouble finding any... My family is staying there in May and would love to get some type of family pictures done while we are all together. If anyone has any to share or knows where I can find some i'd greatly appreciate it!

I have a couple questions about the photoshoots.
So is the price 75.00 at each location? Is there a location where its cheaper?
I am doing a photopass share is the photo shoot session an option for someone who is in a photopass share?

Thanks

I think it's possible that people would have different experiences (better or worse photographers) and different opinions (more out less picky about the pictures). We had ours done at Wilderness Lodge on 3/4. I had the $25 email, and I'm personally really glad I did. The photographer did not seem to have ideas for where to take our picture or how to position us. After a while, we started telling him "how about this". The other issue was it was very sunny at 10am and we had trouble finding spots where we could manage to keep our eyes open. And a lot of the pictures are white-washed. I had specifically asked when I booked whether we should go earlier or later and they told us 10 was perfect. The next day, I saw another family doing all their pix with sunglasses on. I wanted a nice family picture, not sunglasses, but I can certainly understand why they did this. Anyway, I probably ended up with 2-3 good family pix and a couple nice ones of the kids individually. That's out of 85. But, I am admittedly very picky. If it were $25, I might do it again, but not $75.

Hi!!

I have tried looking through most of this thread but keep losing my place!!:goodvibes Anyway, does anyone know the current locations available for the resort photo shoots?

We did one in 2007 and it was great but they were only offering GF at the time.

Thanks!

I am also curious about what if you are not happy with the shoot? I really don't want to be making suggestions to the photographer... I would hope they would be "choreographing" the session. If you have it done early in the trip... and truly are unhappy with the results... could you call someone and ask for a takeover??? I am not overly picky.. (although I do admit I do not like photos of myself) but as all mothers feel... I think my children are very photogenic but if they dont turn out I don't want to pay 75 dollars for photos I could have taken with my own camera.

Question

Do you book 30 days prior to arrival or 30 days prior to the day you would like your photo shoot? I am arriving on April 25th but would like to have our photo shoot done on May 2nd. So is it 30 days before April 25th or 30 before May 2nd?

30 days before the day of the photo shoot. I went to the website where you plug in the dates of your ADR's and it tells you what day to call to make sure of the correct day to call.

what is the current price for the shoot? $75? IF you prepurchase a CD, is it $50, or some other discount? I know the $25 isn't offered anymore, but was wondering if there was something else with the CD purchase.

I booked a photo session at the GF on Friday for April 3. The girl told me that they were making some changes to the packages. I have preordered the CD and she quoted me a price of $70. I was told that it included a photopass with all of the prints so I can add them to the CD, a CD of the prints that I will get at the end and also a package of some prints that they would print while I was there. She said there are 3 packages to choose from. Not sure how all this works but wanted to share what I was told. She said the changes were taking place in the next couple of weeks.

I'm still really debating on this, and I have about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks to decide! I'm leaning towards doing it, even though I think the $75 is pricey. Does anyone know the times it is available at the Poly? I'm thinking an evening, before dinner. I'd like to not be squinting if at all possible. Do you pay when you reserve the time, or on that day? I'm thinking red tops and either khaki or denim bottoms for all of us. We've done white our last two beach trips so I want something different. I'd like orange too, but I'm thinking red might give us a nice Christmas card photo.

We did a photo shoot for my DS's 3rd bday less than two weeks ago at the Wilderness Lodge. I had the $25 rate, which they did honor, but there was some drama. At first they gave me the $75 rate and I went to pay and I was like no it's not that much and I went back and they re-read the email and was like oh they have stopped doing that rate, so we got rid of our cards that had the upc code on it. But it was really no biggy. They went on with the shoot and then found the upc code from another location and all was fine.

The photographer was great and she took 110 pictures. However, there were a few pictures that were blurry, several that were too light (problem with the sun), a few where my son was looking away, one or two that were too dark and one or two with red-eye. But those types of pictures happen, that is why you take so many. However, these issues are what I expect when I take pictures of my son, not when a professional does it. All in all it was worth the $25, since we also got pictures of all 3 of us, which is hard to do. However, I don't think I would pay $75 and I know I wouldn't pay the full price of $150 or whatever it is. I know that I could have taken pictures very close to the quality of the pictures they took. That is why I wouldn't pay more.

But we did get some good pictures. Here are just a few.

http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/oo336/clapooh/DisneyPhotoImage49.jpg

In this one you can see some of the issues with the sun. This one looks good, but we have some pictures where my son looks really washed out. I have been able to fix them a little bit with photoshop, but I shouldn't have to do that to professional pictures.
http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/oo336/clapooh/DisneyPhotoImage64.jpg

And to compare, here is one I took myself last November at the Poly of my DS. I swirled part of his shirt where his name was.

I just booked mine for May 2nd at the Poly for 8:30am with our character breakfast at 9:15am at Ohana. I told the lady that I had already purchased the prepaid photopass CD and it states 25.00 on it. She told me they don't offer that price any longer so I had to explain that when I purchased it back in November there was nothing telling me it had a 30-60 day expiry(can't remember which one) and that it wouldn't be valid for my trip. They told me to hold on to my emails and to call them 2 weeks before my vacation and have it re-set so it will be valid. She said 'Oh bring your papers with the $25.00 offer on it and we will proceed from there"

I told him I preordered the CD (part of a share) and he said Oh, OK, and the bring the email.. etc. I guess there must be some package with a set number of prints you get. No idea how much that is. And I guess the "with the CD" one is the $200 one folks have referenced before I think.

I'm not 100% sure, since I didn't try to do this. But when I got my card, they didn't say that you couldn't use it for that. When you do the photo shoot you pay for it in a store at the resort and I know that you can use your card in those stores...so that is why I would think you could use it.

ok I had to find a better one of DS

they took our pix inside
then outside on a bridge
on the beack
by a palm tree on a hill
hammock
by some other trees with the kids in the tree
those orange-pink flowers
back inside right by the door

they did family groups
kids alone
kids with me
kids with dh
girls alone
little guy alone
girls and me
girls and dh
little guy with me
little guy with dh
dh and I

we ended up with alot I believe it was 91 pictures maybe that was why they ended up dark because it took lots of time?

ok last one unless anyone wants to see any certain background I could add more later if I have them sized down enough? here is ds still making faces but not as bad

I may be in the minority, but I don't think the new prices are so bad. When I called sunday, the lady mentioned nothing about a "sitting" fee, but told me what the options were for purchasing pictures. $50 for a print package, $100 for the print package and CD of photoshoot pictures, or $200 for the print package and photo CD of both photoshoot pictures and photopass pictures from the parks. I know the photographers aren't professionals, but it would cost at least $200 to go to a professional studio to and get family pictures done with the rights and a CD of all the pictures. I tend to like the backdrop of the GF better than a plain colored screen too ;) I would also assume that if we didn't like the pictures, we wouldn't have to buy anything since the lady said we could decide what we wanted after the shoot.

Ok here's my long story in short. I pre-purchased my CD in November for my April trip. I called Photopass after reading someone posts here stating they expired after 60 days. The people at photopass told me it was correct and it did indeed expire in 60 days. I had mentioned that I hadn't seen the expiry on their site etc, she just told me to call back 2 weeks prior to my trip and have my current purchase re-activated. She just said to keep the paperwork and call them back. So I did and took my paper work from November with me. The photographer didn't even fuss when I showed it to him, he just said ok, it's 25.00 are you ready?

I just got off the phone with 2 different photopass cast members. I made an appointment to have our pictures done at the Poly at 9am on the 20th. He quoted me a price of $49.95 for the session and a print package, or $99.95 for the session, print package, and the CD which you cannot add other photopass pictures to from the parks.

The packages were described as Package A (7) 5x7's, Package B (2) 8x10's (4) 4x6's or Package C which was all 4x6's I think.

Just to be sure, when I hung up, I called back and talked to another cast member to verify the prices and she gave me the same exact information. Hope this helps.

Can someone please post the number they called to reactivate their pre-purchase code? I purchased the CD in February for our trip next week and guess I need to get it fixed?? Didn't know they expired until I was reading this since we just scheduled our picture session for our vaction!

Thanks!

I can't tell if this has been mentioned or not, but do any of the new "packages" include the ability to put the photos on the photopass card like they use to? That's all I really want since i'll probably just pre-order the CD anyway :confused3

Disney sure took a relatively simple thing and has really complicated it :scared1:

When I called, the lady I talked to said it was $199 for the session, photo package, and cd with prints from session and from the parks. It really doesn't save any money if you wanted all your photo shoot pictures on a cd since the cheapest package for that is $99. You might call and ask just to make sure.

Do they do sessions at the CR??? Does anyone have any pics from there?? I really want to get this done in September when DH and I go. It would just make our anniversary trip so much more memorable.

Thank you for the information! :thumbsup2

We did the photo shoot at the Poly on Wed, May 6th at 4:00. I was in a photopass share, took the confirmation email. We paid $70 + tax - $74.55. We got the shoot, CD with all the images, a print package (which I wasn't expecting!) and then also all the photos on a photopass card to upload, can add borders, etc. I don't remember all the packages specifically - but you can choose from different combinations of 8x10's, 5x7's and 4x6's. The larger the pics, the less you get. We got a package of 7 5x7's.

I'll post some of my pics later. Overall we were satisfied, our photographer was Justin. Were they exceptional professional photos - no, but we're still happy with them, and for the cost.... One disappointment, they will not ask anyone to move for a shot. Some guy had dragged a lounge chair to the top of the "point" at the Poly, where you have the castle in the background, and was completely blocking the area. So, we could not get a family shot there. I think it would've been nice there, but oh well. We got a lot of other nice shots. Just the 4 of us, but he took all combinations and asked if I wanted anything specifically. I'll post them later...

So are you able to add the borders, etc to the park pics and the photo session pics by doing it this way?? I have heard that you can't edit the photo session CD, but if you did this package and could edit, then that would make a difference in what I decide to do. Does anyone know for sure?? Did that even make sense...

You can't add anything on the CD itself, but they put all the same photos (all they took) on a separate photopass card too. So I was able to upload them just like any other PhotoPass card and they're the same on there.

We did a photo shoot at the Polynesian on September 21, 2008. I'm going to finally try to post some of our photos. It was worth the $25, but I don't think I would pay the higher rate now. If this one works I will post more in another post.

im really surprised by these photos. i'm used to disney creating quality memories and i don't see these as being high quality. I don't think that disney should offer a service that is not up to the Disney Standard. I'm not expecting them to hire professional photographers but they should at least teach them the basics of low light photography and offcamera flash techniques. They should not pick someone off main street usa photopass duty and let them be in charge of taking something as important as a family photograph. Granted you're not paying that much but still...

No help with any of the other questions, but wanted to say that we decided to use 2 of the shots of my DS alone as his "7-year" pics instead of going to Portrait Innovations or something. His birthday was right after we got back, and things are really busy. I was like, why do I need to do that? We got some Great shots of him alone, I'll just get them printed. So I did. Our photographer asked if we wanted all different combinations, I said yes. We got just a couple of DH and I alone, kids solo, kids together, all 4 of us (a bunch of those) and each of the kids alone with each of us which was nice.

i think you could definitely use them for her senior picture!

We did a photo session at the GF on Tuesday the 26th at 9:00 am. Overall we were very pleased. Our only complaint was that the sun was in our eyes outside and made the outside pictures difficult, but out photographer counted and we opened our eyes right in time for the pictures. Of course since we had my nephew and 7 adults, it was hard to get a good family picture where everyone looked good, but that is the same anywhere. We did get some great shots though, here are a few of my favorites.

For $99.95 we got the CD with all the prints and a print package (we got 5 5x7's, but you could also get other print packages that included some 8x10's or 4x6's.) It was definitely worth the money for us since we aren't together as a family like this often, and we got lucky with a good photographer as well.

Everyone has been so helpful here. and I hope that this question has not bee asked too many time, but, We are planning a photo shoot with the whole family(9 of us) but were wondering about doing a separate sitting for our twin boys woh will be seniors next year. I read somewhere that additional sittings were less expensive, and if that were the case we might be able to save some money on senior pics. We have pre-purchased the CD already, and I think I read that additional sittings were $25.
Thanks in advance

Has anyone done this with a bigger group? There will be 12 of us total. I really want to do this because it will be my parents 40th anniversary that we are celebrating and my dad has been battling cance for the last 4 years, so this trip is extra special.

We are thinking about having them done at the Poly after we have our must have every trip breakfast at O'Hana. It would be at about 10:30 or 11. Anybody know if that is a good or bad time?

Do you get a discount for the buying photopass CD - I keep getting conflicting info

kalikat420
06-05-2009, 05:25 PM
I called the PhotoPass desk at the Poly today (6/5/09) and asked a few questions. I hope this is helpful for everyone - it certainly was for me!

If you are NOT planning to pre-purchase the PhotoPass CD, there are two options:
$49.95 - includes one package of photos and the sitting fee (the print packages include 7 prints in various combinations of 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10s)
$99.95 - includes a CD of all the photos taken during your session (no extras or borders, etc.) as well as one photo package
With either package you have your choice of which photos are printed - the package does not have to be just one pose

If you ARE pre-purchasing the PhotoPass CD:
$99.95 package is discounted to $70. He did confirm that the session photos are on a separate CD from the PhotoPass CD.

All prices above are before tax.

You can book the session up to 30 days in advance; you pay when you arrive for the session, so you can decide then what package you want. The phone number to book is 1-407-934-4004 - you will be prompted for which resort you want. The choices are GF (option 1), Poly (option 2), BC (option 3), WL (option 4) or AKL (option 5).

The session lasts 20-30 minutes, which gives you between 30 and 60 images, depending on the size of your group, cooperation of children and such.

He said the best time for a photo session is anytime before 10 am or after 4:30 pm - lighting is key. He also suggested wearing solid, light colored clothing. Stripes and colorful patterns can be distracting.

Lastly I asked what happens if we have the session and are unhappy with the photos - he said we would be issued a refund.

I thanked him profusely for all his time and the details he provided. I asked if he was a photographer and he said yes. His name is Alex if anyone wants to ask for him - he was very nice and very helpful!

I pre-ordered my Photopass CD in time to get the $25 offer at the bottom of the email. Our trip is not until Nov/Dec and I know I'm going to have to deal with the hassle of getting the code re-instated, etc, but I'm wondering...do you think they will honor the $25 price even in Nov/Dec?? I really hope so because I think that is the only way DBF will agree to us doing it!!

Is the $25 photo session still available?

It was not offered to me as an option when I called the Poly today. My guess is that if you have a confirmation email from your PhotoPass CD purchase that states in writing that a $25 session is available, Disney will most likely honor it - as long as it's not past the expiration date. If not, $70+tx seems to be the least expensive option.

Good luck!

When I booked an appt with GF I was told that the packages were $49.95 (sitting fee & prints) and $99.95 (sitting fee, prints & CD). I was told if I bought in my e-mail as proof that I pre-purchased the CD that the $99.95 package would drop to $70. Regarding the prints, all they guy told me was that there were various packages with different size prints. Of course none of this is in writing. I was just told this verbally over the phone. I don't even have a confirmation number nor e-mail to confirm my reservation. I'm crossing my fingers that the info the guy gave me is correct (and that there are no thunderstorms during my photo shoot).

stitchfan18 - those are truely wonderful photos! Thanks for posting them! We have a hard enough time getting descent photos of my little family of 4, I am always amazed and impressed with the larger groups getting great photos-not an easy task ;)

We did our session at the Beach Club on June 14 at 10:30. The sun was bright, but we got some good shots. I pre purchased the CD and the price was $70 for the sitting, the CD, and a photo package. Here are some of my favorite shots.

Does anyone know if there are any photopass photographers at any of the resorts just taking random pictures for you, no photo sessions or anything, just a few random photos?

There are no random roaming PP Photographers at the resorts, they are only there by appointment for the resort photo sessions. If they did roam I would think nobody would bother booking a session or buying those packages.

We actually had photos taken by a PP photographer who had her camera set up on a tripod in the back of the Wilderness Lodge lobby two weeks ago. She wasn't "roaming" but the pics were definitely free. Just handed her my PP card.

I love looking at these great family photos! I always look at our pics after vacation and wonder if I was even on the trip. I'm always the one behind the camera. One of these trips we're going to book the photographer! :thumbsup2

We did a resort shoot yesterday, and was told by the photographer that al the resorts that have photoshoot options als have a photographer set up in the lobby in the evening for family photos. You will only get a shot or two depending on how many people are waiting, unless you are like the family we waited for about 20 minutes while they orchestrated many shots of several different combinations of members. The photographer appologized for the wait, as he was trying to accomodate them, he said he didn't thimk they were going to take so long.

How much is it for just a couple shots? Is it set up like a package?

If you catch a photographer set up in the lobby in the evening your the shots are free just like any photopass pic. We did this at AKL, but also booked a photoshoot at the Poly to be sure we got some great pics. Let's see if I can post a couple from our shoot

We had a lot of fun with this. It did take over 1 hour. We planned an hour and a half. The charge is $25 for each half hour after the first.
We got about 150 pictures, and some for the youngest boys senior pictures as well.

What wonderful pics!!! And these were "free" and attached to your photopass?

We are staying at WL in 2 months and now I cannot wait to get some pics of us at the resort like that. Especially since this year is mine and DH's 15th anniversary. I am hoping to get a nice picture of him and I.

Thanks for sharing and hope you enjoyed your trip.

Thanks, We are really happy with them. Honestly it was the best part of the trip for me, as we haven't had family pics done in quite a while.
I think my post was a bit confusing though. Our pics were from a photo shoot. The cost for this is between $49.99(for a picture package) and $99.99 (for pictures and CD), but if you preorder the CD you get 1/2 hour shoot, a package of prints, and a CD with all your pictures for $70.00. If you need extra time you can add on 1/2 hour for $25.00 for each additional 1/2 hour. We booked 1 1/2 hours as there were so many of us, and we wanted several individual pics. We got about 150 pictures. The free pics are available in the lobbies of the resorts during the evenings. I think they do them at WL as well as AKL, Beach Club, Poly, and GF.
Sorry this was so long.

I think they are there from 8-11 pm. We were there about 9 pm. The photographer we had at Poly said they are at all the resorts that do photo shoots. GF, Poly, WL, AKL, and Beach Club. I've seen several photos from these resorts, and they are all great.
Hope this helps

Does anyone have any pictures of a photo shoot at AKL?? I really love the beach ones at GF and the Poly, but we're staying at AKL for the first time, so I'd love some shots there. But, I'd like to see some first... the beach ones I've seen here are just so beautiful.

Thanks!! :)

We are interested in doing a photo shoot at the polynesian in August, if it rains that day would they allow us to reschedule, time permitting? Also, do you schedule the extra half hour at the original booking time?

One last question, where do I call... is the number resort specific or is it a general number who then coordinates with the resort?

Thank you!!!

Just wanted to let you guys know, when we were at Downtown Disney last week, we went in to where they take the BBB photo shoot photos, and I asked them if they would take some photos of us since they were not busy and the photographer ended up taking 32 photos of us for free and putting them on our photopass card for us! YAY!

We called 407-824-1700, they ask you what resort you want and they will connect you to the photo desk at the resort. You may have to leave a message and they will call you back within an hour or so. I booked the extra time initially when I booked the package. We did a shoot last year with just the 4 of us, and 1/2 hour was plenty of time. We did book the extra time because there were so many of us, and wnated to get individual shots as well as group shots. As far as the rain, I have read that the shoot happens inside if it rains. I would suggest booking for morning(we booked at 9:00). Usually if it rains, it doesn't rain until afternoon. Remember I said usually.
Hope this helps.

We had purchased the photopass card so the first half hour was the $70 and each additional half hour was $25 as long as it was at the same resort. We did our photo shoot at the Polynesian. It was threatening rain the entire time and they did say they would reschedule if necessary so I would schedule early in the trip. We were lucky that they were able to get the outside pictures and then everyone rushed to the lobby to finish. We only had 3 people but did 1 1/2 hour as I wanted family & indiividuals. My oldest DD is a senior so I wanted special ones of her to use for graduation purposes. They turned out lovely! Brian was our photographer & I can't say enough about how great he was! I tried to tip him but apparently this isn't allowed so I wrote up a glowing report of his work. We were at BC one night & saw the photographer so she added a couple nice pictures to our photophass. We explained Brian had done a package for us earlier. The girls had specifically gone there as we loved to get gelatto there so she even took one of us eating our gelatto as this is our special thing to do at the BC! We love that picture!!

At AKL, WL and the Poly, they were all in the dinner hour (6-9). Not sure if they were there at other times, but that's when we were there. We ran into the YC/BC photog around 3, I think. We were headed back to YC from Epcot to rest before our last night and MVMCP, so I know it was mid-afternoon.

ETA: Here are some pics from the YC/BC photog. I can't seem to find the other pics. Please excuse the "We've been in the park all morning" look.
