Sorry if this is already answered somewhere...and I am new to this posting stuff so I am apologizing ahead for the posting etiquette rules I am sure to break :-)

My question is...we will be at WDW in April '09 on the MYW Platinum Plan which includes the photopass CD as part of the plan. Does this mean we only have to pay the $25 for the GF photography session? Does anyone know what our cost for the session will be?

Thx!

From stitchkingdom.com
Grand Floridian Photo Shoot - You can arrange for a private photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer at the Grand Floridian Resort. The session includes around 40 photos taken around the picturesque resort and its beach. Pricing is as follows: $49.95 for a Disney's PhotoPass card containing your photos which can then be added to your disneyphotopass.com account; $124.95 which will get you a PhotoCD with your images. If you choose to get the PhotoCD, you can save your receipt and CD and exchange it later on during your vacation for a new PhotoCD containing all of your Disney's PhotoPass images. The only catch is you won't be able to make enhancements to any of the photos; or bring the required proof that you pre-ordered the PhotoCD and the cost is only $25. Reports from guests who have participated in the photo sessions are overwhelmingly positive. Call 407-824-1700 to make reservations up to 30 days in advance or for additional information. These sessions may be extended to other deluxe level resorts in the future.

From what I understand, the price has gone up from $25 to $75 if you pre-order the CD. I called the 407 number yesterday and this is what they told me. I was a little disapointed because I had thought that it was going to be $25. Your best bet is calling the 407 number yourself and explaining that you are on the Platinum Plan.
Good luck!:thumbsup2

There is a big difference between daytime light here in the summer vs. the winter. The sun is blinding in the summer but much milder during the winter months. Does anyone know if that is true in Florida as well?

The reason I ask is that I am trying to figure out when to schedule our shoot. We are planning for our non-park day which is Dec. 11 at the WL. I would like to do the session after our late breakfast so probably around 11:45ish.

Thoughts? I'd appreciate any input. TIA!

Any thoughts on this?

iluvwdw4ever....BEAUTIFUL pictures!!! Everyone did such a great job...I am planning to have the whole family (5 members) pictures done on our next trip but I am so worried about getting at least one good pic of everyone. My husband & I just had ours done at GF on our "adult only" anniversary trip and it was hard enough with just the two of us! Again...WONDERFUL JOB, you should be very proud!

I just booked our Family Photo Session..
:woohoo: Nov 14th at 4:30 pm at the Poly...:woohoo:

I hope I picked a good day.. This is the Day we fly in.. Our flight should have us landing about 11:30, and I figured time to chill, grab a bite to eat and then get "cleaned Up" a bit.... and still have time to hit Epcot after for a couple hours, or just chill if we like...

Planning on Jeans and red polos for DS & I... DD wants to wear a denim dress... DH has a cute red plaid"ish" that looks nice on him.....Does anyone think DD will need tights in November??? She does here now, the dress she wants to wear doesn't look that great with them.....

Just tickled that it's all coming together.... Getting SOO excited !!!!

hugs

Thanks for the info!

Congrats on wonderful pics Staci!!! Altho, I have to disagree with you. I like the GF ones better. You don't like tired in the GF ones and it looks like there was some light/shading problems with the Poly ones. How wonderful they are of all parts of your family! Priceless! And the one of your sis with your son kissing her made me want to cry - Hallmark photo. If mine looked like that, I would have paid double the $75 fee!!! (unfortunately they didn't)

Loving all your wonderful family photos...your spouses, your children, grandparents, etc. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I can't wait, just booked 2 late afternoon sittings for our grand gathering Poly shoot, right before our Spirit of Aloha dinner show :goodvibes !! I pre-purchased my CD in Oct, however was lucky to get in on the $25. sitting fee. Scheduled appt through PP photographer, Jeff, who said my 2nd shoot will only be $50! Swwweeeetttt :teeth:!! He even requested ages of children so photographer can have a heads up! I'm so excited that we're only a month out and all our planning is falling into place! :lovestruc

I just booked a session at Wilderness Lodge for Nov. 16 @ 4pm.
I did pre-purchase the photo CD and am going to pay 74.95 for the photo session. The CM told me I just needed to bring a receipt. I realize from reading earlier posts that the price did go up significantly. I can see where that would urk people that paid the $25 before, but I feel like $175 (session fee +photo card) is still worth the price (as long as I get a few decent pics), any private photo session in the country would charge you atleast that, maybe more. Maybe if I had paid $25 in the past I may feel a little ripped off, but since this is our first trip ever, I cannot pass up a chance at some professional (even if some are semi-professional) family photos! I am hoping for some good ones to choose from for our Christmas card.

The CM I spoke with told me that on that date the last session is at 4:30 due to the sun going down. I figured 4 pm would be a good time, but I've never been to WDW, and never to Florida in November. Is this going to be a good time to do the photo session?

Another question I had for the CM, was will there be Christmas decor at WL by this time? This would be perfect since I'm wanting to get a christmas card photo out of this whole deal. He said it is possible but obviously cannot guarantee it. Does anyone know if by Nov. 16th Christmas decor is usually going up?? Thanks for any responses!:thumbsup2

i didnt even see anything on any email regarding this 74.95 deal, not even the order confirmation from purchasing the photopass cd. I only mentioned it to the CM when I called to book the private session. Even on the Disney Photopass website, it does not say anything about it, atleast I couldnt find it. But the CM said all i need was my order confirmation from purchasing the PhotoCD and the photo session would be 74.95.

If you pre-purchased and have the $25 on your confirmation e-mail they should still honor the price.

Just set my photo shoot up yesterday! If you preorder your CD then the photoshoot is 75.00 and they will give you a cd and a card with all of your pictures on it so that you can put all of your photo session pictures and your park pictures into one order when you go home and add all of the borders you want. If you don't preorder, then your park and photo session package is 200.00 versus the 175.00:)

My question to all of you veterans is if there is a whole group of 9 can we take seperate photos of each family or do they all have to be together. I have seen pics of just the kids and then parents so I am assuming that can be done but you know what happens when you assume. The group is going to consist of a friend, my sister and family and then my girls and myself.
TIA,
Michelle

Michelle,

It can be done but just know what groups you want together ahead of time so that its easier and doesn't take up a lot of time.

Ok, so my preorder CD email said $25. . .so will it be $25 or $75? Does anyone know if they are definitely honoring the email price? The CM I set up the photo shoot just told me to bring the receipt with the pre-order CD with me to the shoot, but said nothing about the price.

I am so excited- thanks folks for posting your pictures. . .I don't know that I would have done this without seeing the great results.

JUST MY LUCK!!!!

So me and my DS are going to see MICKEY for the holidays:santa: , and I wanted to schedule a photo shoot at the Wilderness lodge. So The very nice photo pass CM said wilderness Lodge wont have there decorations up until 11/20. So she offered to call around to the other resorts and let me know which of the hotels would have there decorations up. So here is what she told me. Just so you know we will be staying at SSR 11/14-11/18

Wilderness on the 20th it will be complete and they will start to decorate on the 18th
Grand Floridian decorations will be up 1 week before Thanksgiving
POLY, doesn’t have a tree I’m shocked
AKL After thanksgiving
SSR will be the first to get there decorations this year at least 2 weeks before.
Beach Club doesn’t put there’s up until after Thanksgiving.

Now this is not the first time we went during this time of year, we usually go to WDW during the 2nd week in November and I remember seeing the big gingerbread house at the GF.

OK so this is a bummer!! I think I have to plan later for next year.

Hope this info was helpful to anyone

If you are doing a photo session at WL you can still get a warm holiday feel if you get a picture done by the fireplace that is in the lobby.

Please help me. I went on the Photopass page and saw all the info on it, and saw where you could order the cd - but you have to have a photopass number to order the cd. It wont let me 'preorder' it. Im thinking maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Can someone post a link to where you can preorder the photopass cd.

Any little bit of $$$ that it saves us will be so worth it. We are not going until spring, but hopefully they will honor this $75 price if they raise it again.

Yes we are doing the photo session at WL, I will definitely make sure we get atleast a couple photos near the fireplace. Maybe I could even bring some Santa hats for us to wear in a photo or two..that will atleast make it more Christmas-like. :santa:

I've lurked long enough, viewing the wonderful photos of others, so I suppose it's time to share my own pictures. DH and I were originally supposed to have a photo shoot on Friday Oct. 24th at 8:30 am. Due to a drizzly gray morning, they suggested we reschedule, so we did for Saturday October 25th at 3pm. Gino was our awesome photographer, and he spent about 50 minutes with us taking 77 pictures. He took a lot of pictures in some non-traditional areas I would not have thought of. Here are some of our end results...

My next dilemma is what to wear.

We'll be there in Dec and want to get photos for a holiday card. We want to plan our photo shoot the second day that we are there & then from the cd print some cards at Costco in Orlando and mail from there. The parks close early during our stay, so I think its possible.

I dont know what we should wear. I was thinking jeans and black tops. But looking at the photos people have taken, wearing lighter color clothes looks really great. I just dont want the picture to look to summery.

Does anyone have any holiday pictures to share? Or suggestions on what would look good. We are going to try to do our photos at the Grand Floridian, if that makes any difference.

Ah just wondering because the price increase is what is making the difference for my family doing a photo session or not. If we were sure we were going to get the $25 dollar price, we would probably do it. I bet if we order before Monday, we might get the $25 price - itll probably be fixed on Monday!

I know in the past you would get a CD at the end of your photosession and then if you took more photopass pics during your trip you could bring it back unopened and they would burn you a new CD with ALL of your pictures. Is this still true since the price increase?

The photographer gave us both. We were able to take the photopass card from our photo shoot and add it to our other account. We were also able to add borders and special things to the photo shoot pictures. We weren't ordering the cd until we came home anyways, so we took advantage of that and added all sorts of borders to our pictures. So, we left with a cd and photopass card of the pictures, but we will also be receiving another cd once we get it back in the mail. It's wordy, but hopefully this clarifies it a bit.

I wanted to let you know that I pre-ordered my photo pass cd today and the $25 GF language is still there.

Will they honor that offer at any resort or must you have your pics taken at GF?

I answered my own question, other resorts will honor it. I specifically booked WL because of the Christmas decorations there. I was told on the phone that I should not assume that there will be any christmas decorations other than the tree in any of my photos - most will be outside. So now, I don't know whether I should stick with WL or go to GF or BC. We are staying at BC - any thoughts?

Thought it might be helpful for me to relay what I was just told on the phone by the WL photopass person. They don't usually do pictures by the fireplace b/c it is too dark and doesn't come out right. I was specifically asking about holiday pics. We will be there the first week of Nov. and I was hoping for a fireplace shot to use for my Christmas cards.

Just returned from 8 days at WDW. :sad2: We did the photosession at the BC and did get the $25.00 price. We had scheduled the session for 8:30am... it figures that we picked a morning with record breaking low temperatures for Orlando!! It was in the 40's during our OUTDOOR photo shoot!!!! Our poor kids... DD2 wouldn't smile and only wanted me to hold her or she started crying. DS5 was a real trooper though, even after he had spent the last two days throwing up, he managed to smile for the camera. So we didn't quite get the great shots that I'd hope for. I'm just glad it still only cost us $25. I would have been really bummed if we had had to pay the higher price.

Will they still honor this price? We aren't going until April but I wanted to pre-order my cd before the trip and any potential price increases, so I am wondering if they will still honor the 25.00 5 months from now..Or have they maybe decided to change it back?
At 25.00 for the sitting fee, I can most defintely get my husband to agree! Quietly doing the happy dance if they honor it!

I had to look for this post lol - I read this earlier on a webpage and wanted to share it. I do think this just made me rethink paying for the Photo Session and just doing my own.

Disney Resorts Private Photo Shoot - You can arrange for private 30 minute photo sessions with a Disney's PhotoPass photographer at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge or Saratoga Springs Resort. The sessions includes around 40 photos (limited only by time) taken around the picturesque resorts and their beaches. NEW! Please note that as of September 1, 2008, Portrait sessions at the resorts are a separate entity from the Disney's PhotoPass system in the theme parks. While both Parks and Portraits use the same system for their photos, they are separate products. As such, the pricing structure has changed dramatically. There is no longer a discount specifically for guests who pre-order Disney's PhotoPass. Guests who pre-order the PhotoCD or purchase it within the theme parks can reserve a Portraits session for $74.95 with proof of purchase (either email or receipt). Guests wishing to purchase only the Portraits session on CD can do so for $149.95. Alternatively guests who purchase the Portraits session but then wish to combine photos from the Parks may do so by bringing their CD and PhotoPass cards to any resort location for a fee of $49.95 (bringing the total to roughly $200). Note that Disney's PhotoPass enhancements will not be available for Portrait session photos or any photos from the theme parks combined with it. Additionally, guests will no longer have the option of receiving their Portrait session photos on a Disney's PhotoPass card. However, any guest who had booked their session prior to September 1 or pre-ordered the PhotoCD prior to September 1 will be able to continue to take advantage of the lower rate and be able to add Portrait session photos to their Disney's PhotoPass. Reports from guests who have participated in the photo sessions are overwhelmingly positive. Available times are seasonal, starting daily at 8 am until 7 pm or sunset, whichever comes first. Call 407-824-1700 to make reservations up to 30 days in advance or for additional information

This is Disney's official spiel. However, many of the posters on this thread have indicated that they received the lower price AND received their photos on a card instead of a CD. More specifically, many have reported recently that they have pre-purchased the CD and received the offer verbiage on the confirmation. The Photopass desks have been consistently confirming that this price will be honored as long as the confirmation is brought to the session.

What site did you snip this from?

I was told 60 days some have been told longer, for more on this see the link below

long story short, they did reset my expired promotion code after I contacted them and I was pleased with the turnaround time but do not wait till the last day to order you pics or you may run out of time.

The GOOD NEWS is that we are booked for December 10, at 9:30am at the Wilderness Lodge for our resort photo shoot. This is the exact date and time that we wanted and the CM confirmed that we would get the $25 price if we bring a copy of our confirmation. SO, we are ALL SET on that front.

The BAD NEWS is that the top I ordered to wear at the photo session is backordered and there is NO WAY I will have it by the time we leave. I'm really p****d about this as it was due to ship last Friday and I got the email this morning AFTER I had to email them for an update.

My dilemma is that I really like this top and think it looks darling on and would look super cute in the picture. So now I'm trying to figure out the color thing. We were going to do royal blue polos but this top (polo babydoll) only came in sky blue so I ordered that. Now I can't get that and I'm not sure what color to try. I can't do green because of all the green at the WL. I can't do white because we both look scary in it. I look great in red but DH doesn't. I thought about maroon but the CM said that might be too dark.

I guess you could say that I have absolutely no idea what to do. I can go with a different style of top in a royal blue but then DH and I won't have the matching polo look. I honestly don't know which is more important - same type of shirt or same color? :confused3

PLEASE HELP!!!

So, has anyone pre-ordered after the Sept. 1 cut off and still had the verbiage about $25 on their confirmation? It seems like there is conflicting info all over the place! And the expiration question above, do you mean that the pre-order code is only good for 60 days, or once you get back from your vacation you only have 60 days to purchase your photos? Like the PP, I am travelling 8 months from now in July and want to buy the CD now if possible. TIA!!

I preordered our CD on Aug. 28 so I have the confirmation with the "$25 photo session" wording and we aren't going to be there until the first week of December. I just looked through the order confirmation and the Photopass CD Instructions and nowhere on there does it say anything about the code being good for only 60 days. I seem to recall that others have said that the $25 photo session wording is gone from the email so it is possible that they've added an expiration to the preorder.

Ok, yay, just pre-ordered the CD and got the $25 offer. Says for GF but I've read on these boards they will honor it at all resorts participating in the photo sessions. Hopefully that is true because we want to do POLY! As far as the code expiring, I will order the CD ASAP when we get back next July so there is plenty of time to go through the hassle of getting a new code if needed, so I'm prepared for that at least now. Thank you so much for everyone posting so much info on this topic!

TIA!!

The 60 days starts from the day you prepurchase the CD I purchased Feb 29 but didnt vacaction until Sept so the code expired sometime in April, WAY before I went to Disney. The photos are only good for 30 days from the tie you access them. These dates are important to remember and quite honestly a pain. I am not sure why these strict short limits are imposed and wish they would do away with them. Even 2 days after I was told my code was "reset" it was not and I had to call again.

This process took over a week to resolve, be sure to plan for that when estimating when your photos expire and give yourself and extra week to work this out

So based on what you just posted the Photopass CD that I preordered in August for our trip at the end of the month is no good? I just looked at the emails last night and didn't see a 60 day deadline mentioned anywhere. Do you know where that info is at? TIA

I am totally stressed about this. I ordered in early August for our 12/5 trip. I guess I should wait a week or so before making the phone calls. Or do you think I should call the Poly photopass person with whom we made an appt for a photoshoot so maybe I can speak to a person. Although I am sure I will be referred on...

Thanks!

I emailed the Photopass site last night once the site came back up. I also prepurchased our CD in August for our trip at the beginning of next month. I'll let you know what they say if/when I get a response and hopefully I'll get a response soon.

It's been nearly two years since I got a PhotoPass/CD, and wow, trying to get up to speed is crazy!

OK! We will be at the BCV Dec. 7-13. I planned to do the Pass/CD and schedule the resort photo session. Called yesterday and am booked for Fri. 12/12 at 9:30am. Just got done pre-ordering the CD.

It does say at the bottom "You must present a printed copy of this email to purchase a Resort portrait sitting for $25 at our Grand Floridian Resort location." As I understand from this thread, I can use this at BC too. Right?

Not knowing this was a questionable issue, I told the resort photo session girl on the phone we were pre-ordering the CD and she said "Just bring the email confirmation."

So I am to understand I get the CD for $99.95 and then the photo session is an extra $25? (This is what I thought all along and had no idea it was about to change.)

The portrait Photopass photographers have no control over the website or its products. All they will be able to do is to give you the phone number to Direct Guest Support.

If anyone is worried about their CD expiring or is having trouble with it, or if you have any questions or issues with the website at all, you can contact DPI Direct Guest Support at 407.560.6068. It is a voicemail line. Please leave them your name, e-mail address, a description of your issue, and a phone number so they can call you back about your issue. They should get back to you within 48 hours.

Yes, you will get the $25 price at BC if you bring a copy of your confirmation.

Yes, you paid $99.95 for your pre-purchase CD and you will pay an additional $25 for your resort photo shoot.

What happens if you do a photopass share?? I'm in one, so can I still do a photo session? And if so, is it $25 if we got the e-mail?? Can only one person use that coupon?

We have no way of keeping track of shares, so you are more than welcome to do a session for $25 (if you have that verbage on your confirmation e-mail).

This is the current policy and I assume it is subject to change, but currently we don't really seem to mind if you are part of a share and want to do a session. :)

We returned three weeks ago, and were in a photopass share, and did a GF photoshoot with no problems. I had our share leader send me the e-mail which had the verbage about the $25 on it, showed it to the girl at the photoshoot counter, and was charged the $25.

I would love to post one of our pictures, as I was so very pleased with them, but alas, the downside of a photopass share is that you have to wait for your pictures to get to you after the share is over. I should have them in the next week or so, and will post one or two if I can figure out how to do it.

Enjoy your trip!

I just replied to your post on the other thread. I think (but am not sure) that the pre-purchase CD/photobook deal is a completely different one than the standard CD pre-purchase.

If the $25 resort session is important to you, I would return the CD/photobook purchase and order the standard CD pre-purchase.

I got a return call today after leaving a message last night. When I asked about resetting my expired code now for our early Dec. trip, she could not do it now since it might expire before I needed it. I tried to explain to her that I really wanted to take care of it now before the holidays and I wanted to avoid losing my pictures with phone tag, etc. but she still wouldn't do it. She said to call a week before ordering. but that would put me into mid-January (30 days at the end of the trip). I asked if she could look up my code and tell if it was expired and she said no that it was handled by another processor. :confused3

She asked me if I had gotten the promotional email from Disney Destinations for the prepurchase and, of course, I said no.She told me that next time I should order 2 weeks before the trip.

I am pretty frustrated because I really wanted to take care of this before the holiday season. Has anyone else had any luck?

It took me over a week to get my code reset and working. Go on vacation, Have a good time and dont worry about it. When you get back CALL as soon as you access your photos and tell them your code has expired and needs to be reset. That way you are not waiting until the last minite should there be some problems. You can only access the photos for 30 days so getting the code extended for 60 days from the date you access the photos should give you plenty of time.

good luck

Well, this took me a while to post, but here are some of the photo's from our session back from our trip (Aug28-Sep6). We paid the 25 for our session and would pay the new rate on our next vacation. It was a great experience even though we had a problem. After waiting for our session photos to come up at the station, we noticed there were marks on our faces in the close ups. They said they would look into it and see if they could fix it. They called later that night to explain there was a problem with the equipment and offered us another session. We agreed but just got some new close up shots. All in all we got about 140 shots for our two sessions. Everyone cooperated and had a great time (not easy for a family of 6!).

Just got back yesterday-it was humid and more crowded this year than years past (we usually go Veteran's day week each year). Thought I would give the (long) low down on the photo shoot experience:

We had a photo shoot scheduled at the Poly for Tuesday at 4:30. Arrived at 4 pm with my email confirmation of the pre-purchased CD with the $25 price at the bottom. The photographer (I think his name was Mark) was initially quite rude, stating that this language was no longer valid and that there were fraudulent emails circulating the DIS. I pulled out my phone, logged into my email which CLEARLY stated the day the photopass CD confirmation was sent to me (as it did on the email print out I had). He tried to call someone to confirm my code, etc, etc. Then he FINALLY validated the code and allowed me to pay the $25 cost. Only to tell us 15 minutes later that the photopass system was down and that he would have to reschedule us, but would kick in a free 5X7 for our 'trouble'. I was a little frustrated at this point because Tuesday was our only 'park free' day, and I felt bad asking the rest of the family to give up park time to reschedule. We rescheduled for first thing Weds morning, so we could then hop the monorail to Epcot.

When we arrived the next morning I was asked what had happened the night before. When I said that we were told the photopass system was down, the other photographers exchanged a look. I don't know what the look meant. Regardless, the photographer we had that morning was excellent- had infinite patience with the kids (my 5 year old was defiant as could be that morning), took great pictures, and had the best attitude. Everything works out as it should. And since we are DVC we got a code for a free mug in addition to THREE free 5X7 prints. I wish I had written down her name as I would highly recommend her, and definitely advise against Mark.

I will add that an 8:30 photo shoot is bright, but if you close your eyes and then open them right as the picture is taken, it is not so much of a problem.

Kate0305, so sorry to hear about your problems :guilty:, but glad next day shoot worked out for your family. :goodvibes

YIKES, crossing fingers everything is in order for our pre-purchased PP CD pkg and our double Poly grand gathering photo shoots. The PP rep, Jeff, who made our appt., seemed very nice and assured me there'd be no problem and to bring my $25 receipt w/conf. number, so I hope I get lucky ;). Knowing this info now, I will be sure to call morn of shoot to be sure all is in order!

Sadly, if there is any problem w/sittings, rescheduling may not be an option for our family of 17. I've also politely requested a photographer who is good with groups and little ones, hense booked 2appts. Jeff even took our grands ages, so I hope they will consider the source ;). I'm really counting on some nice family photos and possibly using pics for C'mas cards, so thinking positive that all will go well! However, must remind myself, life is short, and have promsied myself not to sweat the small stuff! Specially in the land of magic!

* Cart-mom, glad your photo situation worked out too!

Hey! We have the 9am at WL that same date! We'll have already broken the photographer in with the $25 receipt confirmation. Maybe I'll get to meet my first DISer. :) I'll be the one praying my 3 year old doesn't try to climb all of the Christmas trees in the lobby. :rotfl2:

I called and was told that if I didn't receive an email from Disney telling me to pre-purchase the photo pass Cd, I should not have purchased as they expire 60 days from time of purchase. I had mentioned that no where on the site or emails did it state there was an expiry or I would have never spent 100.00 on a photo pass pre-purchase cd. She told me to hold on to my emails and they will re-set it for me in April(2 weeks before my trip) and all will be done without problem. Fingers crossed for no problems but I am worried about them delaying the process. Wish Disney would add this information to the page when you sign in, there are no warnings. I told her that I searched out pre-order photo pass cd and it came up, she just said the internet can be very misleading..apparently:mad:

We did the Grand Floridian session on November 4th at 9:30 am. We did a photopass share with a preordered CD, and had no problem using the confirmation email. At the bottom it said the $25 GF shoot, and they gave us that rate with no issues at all.

We were actually a little late (totally underestimated the walk from the parking lot to the building!) but since we had no appts behind us, the photographer spent TONS of time with us. I think her name was Evelyn?

There are 6 of us, one being a cranky 3 year old, and we still got a ton of good shots. She took 96 total. She asked me exactly what I wanted, if I wanted indoor or outdoor, and when I said outdoor, she still took a few inside as we were walking out just for variety. She took individual shots of each of the 4 kids, shots of the kids together, shots of just DH and I, and some lots of the family. I think she did a great job considering it was cloudy, windy and misting rain.

We were boring and did khaki and white, but it was so much easier to coordinate that way.

Here are a few of the highlights

Am I just missing it?:confused3

I know, I don't get it either. I don't know how to do it!

What I did was order the CD and then 2 confirmation emails will come. The second one is the "DO NOT DELETE" email and if you scroll all the way down to the bottom it will say this:

This promotion code cannot be combined with any other offers. You must present a printed copy of this email to purchase a Resort portrait sitting for $25 at our Grand Floridian Resort location.

Just print the email out and bring it with you!!

I'm not sure if all the confirmation emails have this at the bottom, but it sure seems like they do! Hope that helps you out a little!

Wow at first glance I thought I was looking at my oldest DD. We have a picture very similar w/ my DD leaning on the tree and the water in the back. My DD has blue eyes too and the water really brings it out. I also braid her hair in pigtails a lot as you can see in my sig. Beautiful pictures.

We were boring and did khaki and white, but it was so much easier to coordinate that way.

I really like the khaki and white. I had such a hard time deciding our colors for the shoot. I wanted to do khaki and white while DH thought those colors would wash us out. While I was happy with the colors we chose I look forward to doing khaki and white next time.:thumbsup2 Your pictures are great.

1. Follow this link:http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx
2. Preorder your CD using your credit card
3. A code will be emailed to you
4. When you return from vacation and order your photos, enter that code to get the $99 rate
5. When you go to your photo shoot, print out the 2nd confirmation email to get the $25 rate

I hope that is clear enough and didn't confuse you! Let me know if it makes sense.:goodvibes

i would say you can, just make sure you have the $25 e mail, for each one.
however if you book 2,back to back, say you have a larger family,so reqiure 2 sessions, then you do get charged,a higher rate, for the 2nd one.

Hmm... I'm actually not sure. I entered the credit card information but I don't know when the charge applies- when you sign up for the preorder or when you actually place the order for your photos.

I'll check the Visa and post back here, but maybe someone else knows the answer to that?

Your session should be $75 if you bring a copy of your email confirmation.

I was part of a photo share and had a GF photo session. It turned out extremely well. My e-mail confirmation did not state the $25 session fee, but I nicely asked and our photographer let us have it. I'm not sure if it was because GF has the $25 sitting fee sometimes, or he was just being nice. I was pleasantly surprised. I still would have paid the $75 for the fee because I love the setting, the resort and we don't usually get a pic taken all together. The pics came out wonderful. We wore black t-shirts and they look great with the sand. Our photographer said it's suggested not to wear black, but I guess I hadn't read that. Oh well, I'm kind of glad I hadn't heard that. So, if it's not on your e-mail, ask nicely and maybe you'll get the $25.

I was thinking of wearing black shirts...could you post some of your photos? When was your session & what time?

Lastly, although I have gone through this thread, I may have missed what is happening now...I just preordered the CD, so I have the $25 sitting fee at GF...my question is...will I get a CD then or will the photos be added to my PhotoPass card?

Thanks

The official policy is that you will receive only a CD with your photos. In actuality, most photographers have been giving the CD and the PhotoPass card.

We are planning on wearing navy shorts and white polo shirts and our girls dressed in navy polo dresses that I picked up at Target for around $4 each (clearance). I hope this ends up being OK. I think black would be fine!

Our appt. was 4pm. It was a cloudy day and rained in the early afternoon. I was nervous that we wouldn't get any beach shots because of the sand being wet, but we lucked out because it stopped and the sand was fine. The clouds really helped with our squinting. The sun is so bright there. The black looks great on the beach, but doesn't really pop on the grass photos. I would love to post some, but I can't figure out how to do it. Someone earlier on this thread posted some pics of them wearing black. It's a good example of beach vs. grass shots.
Good luck!

Also, I should have added that when we went to GF on 11/12, our photographer gave us a CD and a photo pass with our pics on it. I am part of a photoshare, so I was happy to have the CD when I got home. I went out and got copies made. I was very pleased with the results.

I prepurchased our Photopass CD in August. We will be in WDW the first week of December so past the 60 days expiration that has been mentioned here. I had sent the Photopass people an email a week or so ago and never received any response. I left them a voice mail yesterday afternoon and got a callback last night while we were out to dinner.

The lady informed me that the only way I could have preordered the CD was if I had gotten a code off of a blog or a non-WDW website. She said that they send out codes to select guests a few weeks before their booked vacation to eliminate the possibility of having to deal with resetting a code that might be past the 60 days. I tried telling her that I went straight to the Photopass website and ordered it myself and then received the emails with the code and information on how to order the CD once we return from our trip. Since we were out to dinner I naturally didn't have my email so I couldn't read anything to her from the emails. She was very insistant that I could have not gone directly to the website to preorder the CD.

Am I losing my marbles or were she and I not talking about the same thing? I even mentioned that we were obviously not talking about the same thing and then she said "We are talking about a preorded Photopass CD, correct?". I'm not sure if I should call or email them again or just go on our trip (which is with extended family), use the Photopass as normal and then try to deal with it after we get home or what.

Any thoughts or ideas? TIA

I think (and could very possibly be wrong) there is confusion because although you ordered it from the photopass website or something that looks like it, there is no link to the offer on the general public photopass website or at least not one that i found. I think the person you were tlaking to should have been a little more helpful but I would just go, enjoy your trip get the photos taken and deal with it when you come back. As soon as you come back, because it does take a while to resolve an you wouldnt want your photo's to expire while working it out (even thought I think they can get them back)

I actually spoke to someone and she was noticably irritated at my request to reset the code. SHe said that she couldn't do it now because it couldn't be reset again??:confused3 She told me to wait and call to have it reset a week before I order. I told her that I really would like to do it now as we will be leaving in 2 weeks and don't want to have to deal with the hassel during the holidays and potentially losing my pictures. She still refused and I am simply annoyed with the whole thing. It is not like Disney isn't making a fortune of the cds anyway!!

Ugh, this is so frustrating for everyone!! I just pre-ordered for my trip in July, so I'm sure they'll looooove me when I call next year with the same problem!! I was going to wait until after our trip to call if there are any issues, but try to buy/claim the CD right away when we get back in case its a long process to straighten out. If the code expires, they should really tell you somewhere on the site. I know people are saying there is no general public way to get to that page, but there must be because I did. At this point I can't even remember exactly how I did get to it, but I think months ago it was on the photopass website somehow, and I bookmarked the page. I know I did not go through a link posted on the message boards, because I had already bookmarked the page before I found these long frustrating threads on the topic. When I went back to order I couldn't find it on the site so I just used the page I had already bookmarked. Anyway, I verified all of my emails, logged in with my password on photopass and there IS record of my preorder, so it is all coming from Disney not some non-disney site. Can they really deny you the CD? Are we out $100 bucks??? :sad2:

That was the point I was trying to make to the lady I spoke with. I didn't get to the Photopass site through a blog or "other non-Disney website" but by Googling "Disney Photopass". There was a link on the main page where you could preorder the CD for $100 which is what I did. The lady I spoke with was getting very snippy with me and I felt like I couldn't make my point without having my emails in front of me to give her more specific details, like the date I ordered, etc.

I guess I will not worry about it until we go on vacation. I might call while we are down there and see if I can get the code reset at that time so that I don't have to fool with it with all of the other craziness of the holidays.

And if the code does expire in 60 days they should note that somewhere on the website with the wording that the code expires 60 days from date of Prepurchase.

Okay, this may be a silly question, but why would you prepurchase the photopass CD eight months before your trip? We leave in 3 weeks and I was going to purchase mine tonight. Is that too early? Is that too late? I'm sorry to sound so stupid, but this whole dialogue about the expiring "code" has me confused.

I totally understand wanting to get expenses out of the way, but it seems prepurchasing it so far in advance is what is causing a lot of stress and aggravation for folks. Believe me, I am a big proponent of having the entire trip paid for before you leave, but I think I'd be inclined just to set aside $100 in the old cookie jar and purchase it closer to my arrival at Disney. We leave in less than a month and I probably won't buy mine until a week prior or so. If you don't mind arguing with the Photopass people, then no big deal...but I hate controversy and drama, especially where my money or precious memories are concerned.

maybe disney, should just do a code, that doesn't expire, surely it would be easier,as it seems, the problem is arising, because of the lack of information, stating the code expires.
can honestly say,i never noticed this information, when pre booking our c.d.

maybe disney, should just do a code, that doesn't expire, surely it would be easier,as it seems, the problem is arising, because of the lack of information, stating the code expires.
can honestly say,i never noticed this information, when pre booking our c.d.
tracy

You didn't notice it because its not there. I still have all my emails from Photopass from our October trip and I had prepurchased at the end of September. No 60 day disclaimer anywhere, but I guess they didn't anticipate folks purchasing months or even a year prior to their visit? :confused3 I do agree they need to fix that aspect and warn people that there is a time limit imposed on the prepurchase offer, fair is fair. I've had issues with PP in the past, unrelated to prepurchasing, and well, in the end, their customer service is horrendous. Reading this thread and hearing the prepurchase issues, I'm cured of ever buying it too far in advance.

Just got off the phone with GF. The guy said that the $125 ($99 w/ preorder) photopass cd was separate from the professional photos and it would be $75 if I prebooked my appointment. :confused3 Is this right? I'm not sure what I need to do. I preordered the "regular" photopass back in September, does this qualify me for the $25 professional session?

Thanks!

Yes, the offer is at the bottom of the email that they sent you where the subject line reads, DO NOT DELETE. I'm sure if you call and ask, they will honor the $25 price.

So are you saying that they will honor the $25 price for photoshoots at other resorts and not just the GF like the email says? or am I misunderstanding? If they will do a resort other than GF, I need to call tomorrow and change my plans as GF would not be my pick at all usually.

Yep! Just keep a copy of the email and bring it with you to your appointment and the price will be honored. At least that is what I have been told. I will know for sure on 12/5.

Well I finally got my issue resolved - I also ordered too early. I sent an email which really didn't address the issue at first, so I sent a second one specifically requesting a refund, and they didn't respond but today they refunded the money back onto my credit card so I can order closer to the date of my trip. thank goodness!

Hi Guys

Just booked our session at the Poly and was wondering, do me and mine need to wear matching colours or is ok to wear different colours that compliment each other?

I am thinking about wearing this outfit

Do you think the colour will go well with Poly? Also, might get DB to wear jeans or stone colour khakis with a light blue polo shirt, what you think?

Did anyone do a shoot at AKL yet?

Also, I'm a bit confused about the sitting fee. I read about both $25,- and $75,-. Which would it be for us? We prepurchaged the photopass-cd.

Also, which way do you book a shooting? Should be fun to do a mother-daugther one!

I'm finally posting a few pictures from our photo session at BC. This was the last week of October and our session was scheduled for 8:30am. Unfortunately on this morning it was a record low temperature of 43 degrees!!! So our poor kiddos were out in shorts and short sleeve shirts shivering in the cold! DS5 was a real trooper and smiled every time we asked. DD2 was not so cooperative. I believe we got ONE shot outside where she was actually smiling. Which was a shame because it was a clear, sunny, beautiful morning... it was just so stinkin cold!!

We did get some cute shots of DD that I've enhanced a little. These were photopass photos, just not during our BC photo session. And incase you are wondering what they are looking at in these photos, we got DD one of those smashed pennies with a Disney character on it. She showed every princess this penny! LOL

I have prepurchased and received my "Do Not Delete" e-mail. It does not mention my private session on it at all. I have already booked my private session at AKL. Can I take that confirmation with me and get the session/CD for $25.00 at AKL?

TIA.

I think that color would go great at the Poly!! It's very tropical, may even match some of the hibiscus exactly!! (I know it matches the one I have at home!). I think complementary colors work well too. Light blue would go well and not clash with your shirt.

After posting this, I did some more reading up. I gues I can develop my patience a bit more. ;) I read about people mentioning them recieving the confirmation mail after prepurchasing the photopass-cd which stated something about a fee of $25,- when having a shoot at the GF.

I rechecked my own confirmation mail and sure enough, the small print did also say that same thing in my mail! So I called and checked it out. The guy told me they would honor it, but only at the GF and bring along a print out.

So, I booked my mom and myself a shoot on dec 9th. To be honest, I was a bit surprised there still were so many days and times available for me to pick from.

The offer would be in the very small fine print at the bottom of this email. Some people say they are getting it and some not. If yours has the offer, you can call and ask the AKL desk if you will get the special pricing there. When I asked at WL, they told me they would honor the $25 price.

what times are the best time to do the photo shoots? I was thinking 10-11 or so, do you think thats a good choice?

We are going to wear jeans and the boys will wear white polos and girls will wear red thermal shirts. I hope it looks good. What do you think? We also all have matching black long sleeve tshirts, but I heard black is not recommended.

Our photos (posted a couple of pages back) were taken around 10am at GF. There wasn't much sun that day but when it did peak out, we didn't have any shadows. When I called to schedule, they recommended early morning because that's when the lighting was best.

We have 9:30am on Fri., Dec. 12 at BC.

Went to Land's End and got my mom & I (sorta) matching sweaters. Hers is the light blue cartigan and will wear a white oxford under it; mine is the same color, except v-neck. We plan to wear navy jeans with them.

My mom HATES getting her photo taken, but I've guilted her into it for my sake.

That still doesn't explain why a lot of people are buying the Photopass 6 to 8 months early. The code expired after 60 days and you have to go through the hassle of getting it reset - if they will even do it for you.

Many many people are posting that they didn't know the code expired in 60 days. They said it's not on their confirmation email.

With the $25 photo shoot being such a good deal I'd be booking it for my honeymoon next year too if I didn't know the code expired in 60 days. One less thing to worry about with all the other planning and booking I have to do.

Prepurchasing the PhotoPass and booking the session are two different things. If you have the money *now* and want to buy the PhotoPass CD now, and have one less thing to worry about later, why not do it - if you didn't know the code expires in 60 days?

I completely understand why people book/buy stuff months in advance, when they have the money, if they don't know the code to get what they need is going to expire. How frustrating.

This thread is so confusing with conflicting info.

And there was a time when the codes did not expire after 60 days. When I first looked into prepurchasing a photopass cd 2 years ago, I was told then(on more than one occasion) that the code would not expire until the end of 2007.

And if there is an expiration, shouldn't it be posted somewhere on the website? Or in the confirmation e-mail you receive? As far as I can tell, there is no mention of the code expiring at all. I've only ever seen it mentioned on this thread.

Just returned and glad to report our Poly PP shoot went very well :goodvibes!! Upon arrival I simply showed PP rep. my pre-purchase October conf # and email quote of $25/$50 for first and second shoot and no questions were asked. :)

We had a 4/4:30pm double shoot as we had 17 family members. Our photographer was Taisia and her partner (who helped place us) was David. We had 75 pics taken at the Poly beach, infamous tree and hill w/castle view ~ then GP's w/grands and individual family shots. Apparently she'd never heard of kids having a photo shoot facing backwards and when asked she decided to do shortest in middle w/tallest on outside, but was happy to accomodate my request of shortest to tallest in below shot ;). Unfortuately, our alloted time did not allow for individual shots of grands, as we had SoA dinner show ressies immediately following.

We were happy with results, as realize it's difficult to get 17 people in a shot, let alone all smiling and be still at same time! She gave us a quick peak after shoot, copied our portriat CD for us to take and handed me a 5x7 family pic and said she enjoyed working with us. I was so surprised by her generosity and thought it was so nice of her!! :goodvibes

We had 4 family cards thru out park all week, so took advantage, even at BBB. Last day we went back to Poly and another PP rep uploaded all 275 park pics on one card and let us view them.
He explained upon arrival home, to simply sign in with my PP code to view and edit pics online. We have done so and hope to get CD in plenty time to make :santa: cards.

Good luck to all! I know many question if PP is worth it, but we'd do over again in a heartbeat! :lovestruc

Since we had 9am slot, we did a few inside with waterfall, the hill with castle in background, tried on the beach but sun was in our eyes, hammock for kids, then moved to bridge near pool. She was incredibly nice and patient with us. We asked her and she had been PP at Beach Club prior to moving over to Poly and has been PP for 3 years now. We didn't have any problem with getting the $25 price for the shoot. We got them on a CD and also the photopass card. Here are some of our photos:

We then tried some on the beach but we were looking directly into the sun and everyone was squinting so we asked to move somewhere else. Here are the shoots from the new location.

Great shot! and great memories!

Thx, we indeed made many special memories! :lovestruc

4nana - your pics are amazing!! We are planning on doing a group of 15 in our photoshoot.

Thx bunches, sending you *pixie dust* for a magical tirp and great PP photo shoot! :goodvibes

Great pics. I think we had Tasia at SSR on 11/29. She said she was brand new to the resort. Was she very Petit with dark hair? She took a lot of time with us and was very patient. We had a party of 9.

Thx! Yes, that's Tasia, she was great! Glad the photo shoot worked out for you too!:)

I GOT IT!!!! I finally re-ordered my pre-order (cancelled the first one because it didn't have the $25 offer and I found out I would have had to start uploading pics on the first night there!) and this time I got the $25 offer!!!

I'm SO excited! We were going to do it either way, but I like this price so much better! :cool1:

I finally got my Photopass CD from my October share, so I'm going to try my hand at posting some of our favorites. (That's the downside of a photo share, in that I had to wait over six weeks to get my pictures.)
They really did a great job, and I'm so happy we did this. Even though I was fortunate enough to get it for the $25, I'd gladly pay the $75 for these pictures. It's just not that often that you get your family together for pictures, and what a gorgeous place (with multiple sceneries to choose from) to do it at. I'll treasure these thru the years!

I like these because Sugar Loaf is in the background, and we were blessed with Pixie Dust and an upgrade to concierge, so the pictures bring back sweet memories
http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/kbiggs_2008/image0761.jpg (my son wanted a picture of him looking "cool":cool1: )

There were also some great shots of mom & son together and dad & son!
Again, I'm so glad we did this. I fretted over just the right clothes for us to wear for weeks.
I encourage everyone to do it; even if you only get two or three great shots, it's worth it for the lovely memories of "together time."

I called and talked to a PhotoPass person and he said that the promotion ended in Sep and wasn't supposed to be on the emails anymore.

It would be a hassle for me to cancel, wait for a refund, then re-order so I guess we'll have to pass on this one.

Do you have any pictures from SSR? We are considering doing the photo shoot there.

We are also new to the photo shoot idea and DBF does not like photo's very much but this will be our first professional photo's together in the almost 4 years that we have been dating.

Anyone think SSR would be good or go with Poly for the beach? Any and all ideas appreciated. Thanks all!

We had our shoot at SSR in August, and the pics were excellent (and I'm a part-time photographer, so I'm pretty picky). We chose SSR over the others because we liked the scenery there better. GF was too formal, Poly too themed. SSR was simple and nice, with flowers, trees, and waterfalls, and such as backgrounds.

I'll post some if I get a chance today.

Just an FYI: We just got back and had our photo session on 12/10 at WL and I had to really stand my ground to get the $25 session fee honored -- I had my email. They were clueless and kept saying they had never seen this offer and that the email said it was only good at the GF so I couldn't use it there, etc. I told them when I called to book our session that I had double checked to make sure WL would honor it and was assured they would and that I would get a cd that day. They relented and said I could do it for $25 but couldn't have a CD. I had to ask them to call another supervisor (I had two photopass guys and a manager there with me) to get the darn CD.

The session was okay...not great....not amazing....the guy was clearly perturbed with me. I was disapointed but we did get a few good shots. The magic was gone when I had to literally "fight" (using nice words and nice attitude) to get what I was promised.

Ugh! I have to admit that I have been worried about this happening just because of the email saying it is for GF only. I hate having to argue when I'm on vacation. Sorry you had that experience-it really sucks all the joy out of things.

Just back. Did the photo session at Beach Club on Friday, 12/12. I simply handed my email to the photographer, Cheryl. She scanned it on her own for the $25 offer, handed me a laminated UPC to take to the gift shop. There I paid the $25, showed Cheryl the receipt, and we were all set!

Cheryl was very good, but it was very cloudy/overcast outside. I felt like our outside shots very much lacked because of that. We then did some in the BCV; these are much better. Wish we'd had some outside in from of BC and with the smaller BC tree (instead of the BCV tree), but I expect since we had on light blue she probably felt we would blend in too much.

I think we ended up with less than 50 photos and felt a bit rushed, but these photos of my mom and I are priceless. Now, if she'd only been able to drop a few pounds off of us....!

Thanks. We are doing AKL and hoping it goes smoothly.

A note to anyone thinking of the AKL session-when I called they told me that the resort doesn't get a lot of requests for the photopass session, so you can pretty much name your time and day there. We were told they had the entire day/night open on our date-Christmas Eve. It was very easy to book. Now I'm hoping the session goes well.

I guess that I don't understand why so many people want to "beat" the system when they are on vacation. The Email clearly states that the $25 session is only at the Grand Floridian. I sure wouldn't want to get into an argument on my vacation, especially when I know in my heart that I am in the wrong.

We just returned and did a photo shoot at the GF for $25. We had a great photographer and she even got my DH who NEVER smiles (photos or otherwise) to smile. That is worth a million dollars to me. She took about 125 photos and I would say I will only delete about 15 from the disk. We also got the photopass card for the enhancements. I will post a few when I get my suitcase unpacked.

It's not beating the system just that when they originally started adding more locations they never updated the e-mail and since then they have raised the price. I think the only reason the sessions have become so popular are because of the $25 session fee. With the higher price the quality needs to be much better and the session needs to be longer.

You really should read the entire thread before you start accusing people of trying to beat the system. I received an email stating that I could get the $25 fee at the GF. I called photopass to see if they also honor that at WL. I was assured that yes they did honor it and I would get a CD after the session. Had they said no, I would have simply booked at the GF. No trying to beat the system here. Just checking my options. I was not wrong to take what Disney told me to be true --- that I could get a photo session for $25 at WL.

When I arrived, they were clueless about the email. I did have to argue (Nicely) but when a customer is promised A and gets B, the customer has the absolute right to question the service. Afterall, it is my money being spent.

Disney needs to train the photopass people so that everyone is on the same page. Disney also needs to update the email if the $25 fee is truly "gone". Until both of those things happen, confusion is bound to reign.

Thanks, I ordered them from Disneyshopping.com last year when they ran a special for personalized stuff and they were great. We wore them to the parks earlier in the week and got a lot of comments. It made it easy for the CMs to know how many were in our group. :rotfl:

I've been reading through the posts and I just want to clarify. When you pre-order the Photopass CD, Did you get the $25 sitting and then pay for a cd for those pictures or that's included? Or is that more? I guess what I'm wondering is what the total cost is.
I called today and they told me the sitting with at CD is $150 and $50 more for a photopass CD too. If I pre-ordered, I'd save $25.
Thanks!

We just pre-ordered the CD online, and it was $99.99. That was for JUST the Photopass CD. On the bottom of one of the confirmation emails, there is a notation saying we can call and book a private photo session for $25. If I'm understanding thing right from some of the other posters (this is a first for me!), we will get our private session pics on a CD as soon as our session is complete, and most CM's are also adding the pictures to a Photopass card for inclusion there as well. So, total cost for us will be $125 (Photopass CD + Private Photo Session).

Regular price on the photo shoots are $75, so we're saving $50.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

I concur, as we just did this a few days ago. You pre-pay the $99 online for PhotoPass CD. When you check in for the photo shoot, you present the email (from pre-pay purchase). We were then given a laminated card to take to the gift shop where we paid the $25 sitting fee. We received both the sitting CD and card at the end of the shoot. I will upload that card along with my regular photopass card to get ALL of the photos on one cd.

Hmmm, I'm only guessing here, but I would think that only the person organizing the Photopass share would get the $25 photo shoot deal. Because the Photopass CD order would be in their name.

But again, I'm just guessing. :)

that's what I thought too, but she said that she was reading in other shares where they were doing that...so I was just curious if anyone actually had. From a Photographers standpoint, I don't think $125 is bad for the Photopass CD and a private session with all those on CD as well.

We did the photoshoot in September and I was envolved in a Photoshare. The person in charge of the share emailed me her confirmation and I printed it out. I had no problems, but it may depend on the photographer. Hope this helps!!!
