I've gone through pages and pages of this thread. I've seen other people ask the question, but haven't seen any answers or photos. How Christmassy are the photos taken in December? I guess I'm hoping for some Christmas themed, but most not. Anyone know?
I'd like to know more about this also. We have a session in December at GF and though I'd like some kind of Christmasy, I'd like some not so much.:goodvibesTIA

Anyone?
We did the photoshoot twice, once when it was free with the cd and once when you had to copay $25. Whne the price went up we stopped becuase it was barely worth the $25 IMO. We did saratoga springs and The grand. Timing was important at the grand since it was getting dark and we were rushed around to catch the natural light and when we got in,we had to stay clear of a wedding. Ther was no consideration given to our 2 and 4 YO and thier little legs and it was a bit of a disappoitment once we saw the photos. I do better myself with a minitripod or asking a guest.

We also wanted a few pic's that we were told we could not have, apparently they had predetermined photo spots.
We did this a couple years agoand things are ever changing so maybe they have improved and it may be right for you.
If you have any questions I'll domy best to answer.
Enjoy your trip!

I haven't gotten caught up on this thread since we left for the World on September 2, so someone might have already posted this - but we did a Photo Session on September 9 and it no longer includes the print package. You get the CD + a Photopass Card, so if you buy Photopass you can add borders, etc. The ones on the CD are "plain" - our CM did make some black and white/crop, etc.

I wish they offered sessions at BWI. Any word as to whether they'll offer this location at some point?
We were staying at BWV, and wanted our pictures there too - so we chose the BC and asked the the BW appear in the background on some of the pictures.
I hope they add the BW, it would make for some WONDERFUL pictures!

I got to thinking, maybe yours didn't include prints because it was a free one won as a prize? I just read wehre someone called to make an appointment and still quoted the package with prints. so that got me wondering.

That could be...I asked about the prints, the CM said, "We used to do that, but not anymore." so that could mean JUST for the prize winners and I understood her wrong. I hope so!
BTW, everyone, I won the 20 minute session from Welcome Home Wednesday (DVC event). They gave away two!

I do hope that those who have to pay $99 still get the prints. When I called to make our appointment about 10 days ago the CM on the phone was explaining the two packages and asked if I had an idea which one I was likely to take. When we get there I will call to confirm and if they are only doing the CD I won't take it. I just think that if you are getting the PP CD, the photo session CD and then buying the odd ride photos it is easy to spend over $300 just on pics - most of which you have to pay to print yourself. I am all for the CDs but I do want my prints with my resort session. ;)

When I called on September 3 for September 18, they didn't offer or say anything about the print package for the 20 or 40 minute session with CD. They only said about prints with the shorter session and no CD.

I think I will call them tonight and ask them to clarify exactly what I am paying for. If it comes with only the CD for $99 I am going to ask for a discount as this is not what was 'sold' to me at the time I made the booking, otherwise I will consider canceling. I do think a photosession for $99 is still a good deal, but keeping in mind it is not a professional session and really the luck of the draw as to how experienced and creative your photographer has to be, I am not sure I am prepared to gamble not only the money (no obligation to buy if you're not happy), but the time it will cost out of our day if we don't take it.
Anyway, if I call them, I will post the response on here for the benefit of everyone.

We just had a family photo session at the GF on Saturday. I booked it in July and therefore they said I could still get the print package + CD for $99 (I had a 20% off coupon so it came out to $79 + tax). She said the change was a new one and therefore didn't apply to me because I had booked prior.
The session was good - my photographer was Andrew. The pictures of my son came out really cute but he could have chosen better angles on the family pictures. Regardless though, it was nice and fun and the 20 minutes seem to fly by. We got 34 pictures in 20 minutes - with a 1 year old I am going to call that a success.
Any questions, let me know.

Thank you for that information. :) Did the CM indicate when the change came about? I booked on August 25th - kind of hoping that the CM told me the pics were included with the CD because I called before the change came into effect. Please tell me it's from September 1st :worship: Otherwise I might just take that money and get tickets for DD and I for MNSSHP, which I was adamant I would not be doing this year. :rolleyes1

On the contrary, you've been a great help. At least now I can give them a call and check. Had you not posted, it would never have occurred to me to do so. Although I may just go with the CD if that is what they say I am getting, at least I will know what to expect and not be disappointed on the day.
Thank you! :goodvibes

Well if they stop adding prints, then they really should lower the price. I don't like that they changed it. I have yet to see it confirmed anywhere on any "Official site" which means alot of people will still book assuming prints are included. I think the price was high to begin with, but I will still probably do it, if/when we go.

Well on that topic, it would be nice of them to actually inform guests that there is such a service. I found it quite bizarre that there is no reference to this whatsoever on their official site. Had I not been told about it when we were there last year, I would never have known it existed. As for information on it, all of that was gleaned from the DIS, mostly on this thread. I think for it to have gone from free, to $25, up to $100 and then to take away the prints is a bit cheeky if you ask me.

exactly! I know on stitch kingdom he has alot of info on the photopass and this info is included, but I haven't seen it change on wehat the package offers yet, and he's usually up to date.

Yes Stitch Kingdom is usually bang up to date so clearly they have not announced this yet. Although with that said, they don't really advertise it, so I doubt we can expect an official announcement to update something they didn't inform us of to begin with. So it looks like unsuspecting guests have to do their own research to find out what they are paying for and how to book it, only to fall prey to a nasty little surprise at the end of what should be a special family memory making hour.
Nonetheless, I think I will still call them. At least then we will have something 'official' to go on.

I thought I would share some from our session. We asked for only a few posed ones, and mostly "candid" type shots of my DS playing in the sand. He's three, doesn't exactly love to pose for pictures over and over again - plus he's VERY into the sand/digging/dirt, so it fits his age. :goodvibes I love how they turned out! We did the 20 minute session and had over 70 pictures! :thumbsup2

Thank yoU :) The CM definitely went through the whole thing with the various print packages for me. He asked if I knew which one I wanted and I said the $99 package with the CD. I still have the notes where I was drawing silly shapes on my notepad while he went through it because I had read it all on here and on Stitch Kingdom, but I let him go on and explain it because I thought he might be obligated to do so. Just as well! :worship: I will call when I can find the number I used last time. :headache:

Thank you for posting this. Would you mind posting the number you used to call?
I booked on 8/25 so it looks like I am safe with this one too. I nearly waited because I actually booked more than 30 days out - boy, am I glad I did. I will definitely do the session now while it is all included. I would do it again if I had a discount but this is something Disney seems to be doing a lot these days: removing things from what you pay for to create the impression of a price freeze. :sad2:

In case someone is reading this now and missed it earlier, you can now book 90 days out. I had stumbled upon that when I called for pricing about 80 days before my trip. I was budgeting and the lady said it was a recent change that you were now able to book that far out. Glad I did it as well.

So, does anyone know what is actually included in the package price? I made me ressie early August, so I think I am entitled to a print package but I am very confused. I booked a double session because we have a lot of family members with us.
Anyone?

So, the poster below called and got this info from the CM:
I just called to confirm pricing. Apparently they discontinued the print package as of 8.29 I booked mine prior to that date so I am still able to get the Print package CD and extended package for $125 I dont know what the current prices are but if they are the same without the prints I am sure glad I booked early
Based on that, I think the print package should be included in your price. I booked on the 18th of August, so I'm in the same situation as you. I haven't called to confirm that we'll get the prints yet.

This is what Stitch Kingdom says
Disney Resorts Private Photo Shoot - You can arrange for private 30 minute photo sessions with a Disney's PhotoPass photographer at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge. The session includes around 40 photos (limited only by time) taken around the picturesque resorts and their beaches. Please note that as of September 1, 2008, Portrait sessions at the resorts are a separate entity from the Disney's PhotoPass system in the theme parks. While both Parks and Portraits use the same system for their photos, they are separate products. There is also a new pricing structure in place, which is as follows:
Disney's PhotoPass Portrait Session Photo Package - For a price of $49.95, you will get your choice of one of the following packages: (A) 8x10 (2), 5x7 (3); (B) 5x7 (2), 4x6 (4 sets of 2); (C) 5x7 (7). You will be able to choose the pose for each print, so you can have up to five different poses for Package A, up to 6 different poses for Package B and up to 7 different poses for Package C
Disney's PhotoPass Portrait Session PhotoCD - For a price of $99.95, you will get your choice of photo package as explained above plus all of the photos on a PhotoCD.
Note you will not be able to enhance the photos on the Portrait Session PhotoCD, but you will be given a PhotoPass ID to use on disneyphotopass.com to make any desired edits/enhancements and future purchases.

I had my session on Saturday. I think our photographer's name was Sheri? I can't remember already. Anyhow, it was at the Polynesian. It was awesome. I posted earlier that I called and booked on September 3 for September 18. They didn't offer the prints on the phone. Here's what I ended up with ...
$99.95 for 20 minutes, all pictures on disc and on the photopass account. NO prints. I'm guessing that's because I scheduled after September 1. Anyhow, I got 87 pictures. I love pretty much all of them. I'm happier with them than I was my wedding pictures a year ago. So, I'm pretty freakin' happy. I'd post them, but my laptop is being an idiot and won't read the disc (which frequently happens). So, I'll be able to post them when I get home early next week.
Oh and please excuse my manners. I got carried away on my little rant and actually had good intentions of saying to you

No problem, but remember, they are now saying that those who booked later are not getting the print package anymore. Which I am a little mad about. Mostly becuase they didn't reduce the price.

Just wanted to say-we did a shoot at the Poly the week of the 11th. Our PP guy was great. We had a mid morning time which was rough on the eyes but it was the only time that fit into our schedule that week. If your PP asks if you have plans that day-be honest. We didn't have any real plans till later that afternoon so he took his time with our session-we ended up with 150+ shots. Overall I am very happy with the results and my kids really enjoyed doing it.

Just called to book a photo session at Wilderness Lodge for Valentine's Day. I was given a choice of either a 20 min session at $99.95 or 40 min for $124.95. The only option he gave was photos on a CD. I asked about prints and he repeated that you get the CD.
My questions are:
- we are two adults, is 20 min enough?
- I booked a time of 11:30 - is this okay?
- and since I don't pay until the day off do you know longer get the discount by buying the cd early?
Thanks for the help.

Yes, as stated a few posts back, the prints no longer come with the package. Also there are no discounts anymore for prebuying the photopass CD either. (which is a different cd)
I don't know about the time thing. I am debating wether 20 minutes wil lbe enough for us as well.

Thanks, I tried to read thru the posts but wasn't sure.
Considering the price $25.00 more isnt bad for 20 more minutes but considering the size of the Lodge how many more pictures could you take? He did say I could call back and change at any time so I have until Feb to think about it and read more posts to see what other people say.

You don't get your photosession CD any cheaper.
However, if you preorder a photopass CD for all your other photopass photos you do save about $50. At least, I just did. I ordered the day before we left. I've entered all my photopass cards (along with the one I got with the photosession) and my CD is on it's way to me. So, technically, I have two CD copies of all my photosession photos. ;)

Depending on availability, I wonder if you could add the extra 20 minutes on the day if you feel it is not enough. If there are other sessions booked straight after yours it would probably not be possible so it's a bit of a gamble. Your other option is to pre book the extra 20 minutes and depending how the session goes, ask if you can call time out if you feel you don't need it. I'm just running options through my head at the moment and don't know if any of this is possible.

We had the 20 minute session and it was PLENTY. We ended up with over 80 pictures. It was enough for us.
We also have a 3 year old who would not have lasted past 20 minutes - so factor in your group size/ages/cooperation as well to see if the money would be worth the extra 20 minutes.
When we went, early September (LOW crowds) there was no one booked for the entire day except us, we called the day before for the session.

We just went last week. I lurked on this thread before we went so I thought I would share some of our's and what our experience was. It was so helpful hearing everyone else's when I was planning our trip I thought I would try to help someone else out.
I originally booked our photo session for the afternoon we arrived at 4:45 p.m. After we got into Orlando and got to the resort, we had to switch rooms and we still needed to unpack and get ready. I decided it was going to be too close so I called and they let me reschedule with no problems. I rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 4:45 p.m.
Because of when I booked, I still got the CD's and prints. I also had the 20% off coupon that was in our pre-arrival documents from Disney. So it was $80 for 20 minutes, a choice of printed pictures, and the CD.
We arrived early and the photographer was ready so we started immediately. It was my husband, our 21 month old daughter, and me. My daughter was not giving away any smiles the day we went but it was definitely not because the photographer didn't try! I was really impressed with our photographer - she tried her hardest to get our DD to cooperate.
I guess there was no one else after us because the photographer was with us for at least 45 minutes (if not an hour) and she didn't charge us extra. We ended up with 135 images (of course they didn't all turn out). Here are a few of the best:

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee425/kristin17241/DSC_0084-1.jpg - This is my daughter's first experience with the beach and sand. We live in the middle of corn fields. She is definitely a little princess who doesn't like to get dirty! :goodvibes

We definitely had the sun and wind to deal with but I was pretty happy with the pictures overall. We actually had several people at the Poly stop us and tell us how nice we looked as a family. It was definitely a good experience. We will probably do it again but maybe try a different resort next time just to try something new.

Here are a bunch of ours from AKL last December. We had the five of us and the 20 minutes was plenty of time. We walked a lot of the grounds...did indoor and outdoor...some Christmas. I asked the photographer to make them look "non-Disney"...just because we have all of the park photos and photopass. This resort was perfect...beautiful. Plus, we were staying there. So, we just had to get ready and be downstairs!! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to share our pictures from our session on 9/29 at the Poly. Thanks to everyone on this board for all of the information - it was so helpful! This is myself, my son, and my parents. The session was at 4:00pm, and it was overcast for most of it.
Our photographer was amazing! We had the 20 minute session but she took her time, and we wound up with 130 pictures! At one point she took several candid shots of my son climbing in the tree!
Since I booked early, we were also able to get the print package. Oh, and I also had the 20% off coupon!
There were so many great pictures! The only thing I didn't like were the cranes in the background, but those can be easily edited out. In fact, our photographer edited them out of one of the prints in the package we got. Overall, I was very impressed with the session - here are a few of my favorites.

Thanks!!!! There were some really nice spots. We did have a good session...and this was one of my favorites...it was just fun! LOL Actually, we just went to Disney a few weeks ago with another couple. And, we have a photo in front of the castle with myself and the other wife on our husbands' backs there, too!! Guess it was a trend for us!!

Thanks to everyone who has shared their photos - I'm definitely going to try this during our upcoming trip.
Can anyone recommend a good time to schedule a shoot in the afternoon in early December? I want to make sure that the sun isn't too bright, but I'm not sure what time would be good.

I'm so torn on this!!
I can't decide if $100 is worth it for these photos. I was totally on board to sign up for this when the Photopass CD from the park was included, but now I'm having 2nd thoughts.
For $200 I can do a private session here at home and have a little more faith in the photographer. But, the $100 difference is still a lot of money.
Anyone have some words of wisdom for me?

I have never heard that the regular Photopass CD was included in this. I have heard that the photos could be added to your Photopass CD, but you would still have to pay for the session and then for the regular Photopass separetly.

A few years ago it could be added to photopass for a really cheap fee, like $25. Then it went to if you had prepurchased photopass you got a discount on the resort photoshoot. Now they are totally seperate as far as I know, except you can add them to photopass after paying for the Cd.

It is said to be no more than 30 days but I called about 40 days out and they had no problem scheduling my session for me.
I need to get myself organized now that we are back and post some pictures. I have to say it was the best $100 I have spent in a very long time. Absolutely worth every dime! :thumbsup2 We got 79 pictures on our CD and pretty much all of them are great!

Correct. We got the CD at the end of the session with a Photopass card in the case which had all our pictures on it. When I put my other PP card numbers in on the website to access my pictures, I added the photo session one too and I can add borders and edit the photo session pictures too.

Welcome to the DIS! :yay: If there is a place on the disney web site with the information, I have not found it. The best link I've seen is this one:
http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/#sessions
The information is a little out of date because people have said on this thread that the prints are no longer included as part of the packages.
If you're going to reserve a session ahead of time, you need to call. The number is 407-934-4004. I hope this helps! :)

I have read so much on these and how they have changed the packages. Here is what i was told today:
Package 1...49.95 20 min and a print package(variety to choose from)
Package 2 99.95 20 min and photo CD and with photopass card
Package 3 124.95 40 min and photo CD and with photopass card
They are booking through February right now so I have to wait a little bit for my March date.

Okay, I wish they would have said something about the 40min session when I booked last week. Now I'm going to have to call back with fingers crossed that we can switch to that. I wanted to do photos inside and out at Beach Club. I know that involves a bit of walking, and I was worried that we wouldn't get the shots done in 20min - especially with a 3yo that isn't always cooperative. We're trying to get photos for the wall at home, and a good one for our christmas cards.

We did the "40" minute session back in August at WL in part since we had a large group (10 people - our family, BIL family, FIL and second BIL who is solo). It was scheduled for Sunday morning after b-fast. There were no other sessions scheduled that morning. We finally made the photagrapher stop taking pictures after almost 1.5 hours as the kids were sooooo done. Ended up with somewhere around 170 photos. I am not sure if Sunday morning is normally a busy time or not but we plan on repeating the experience next year.

Really it wouldn't make no difference to anyone if they got the photopass card or not, since you already get a CD. The bonus of putting it on photopass is to add Disney borders. I doubt they would offer either or, as the value is one is free while the other has a cost.

Do you get the CD immediately, or do they send it to you?
I'm trying to decide if I should wait on sending Christmas Cards in hopes of including a picture, but I'd have to send them the day after Christmas to do so as it stands - waiting any longer wouldn't work!

You get the CD straight afterwards. YOu pay first, do the shoot, stroll around for about 20 minutes while they upload the images and they give you the CD.
I planned to use some of my Photopass images for Christmas cards, but my CD was shipped 2 weeks ago and hasn't arrived - so like you, I am probably sending my cards out late. ;)

well, i've thought a lot about this, this week. i really like the castle pix from the poly beach, but then i really want the fountain and bench pictures from the grand floridian.
i'm thinking we're going with the grand floridian. it'll be easier since we're staying there.
i don't think i'd regret it either way. i feel like the poly could be a lot of walking to find key spots too. that could take up lots of the time, whereas the gf is all pretty much in the same area.

The Poly wasn't that much walking. We got 79 pics and we just did the regular 20 minute session but it is just myself and DD and the size/ages etc of your party would have an affect. I just remembered now that you mentioned the castle pics at the Poly - I was so keen on those as well. But guess what, they come complete with a giant crane in the background (unless it is gone now) :rotfl2:
I am leaning towards the GF for next year too. But I totally agree, you can't go wrong with any of them unless you are after a very specific theme. Enjoy your session. :goodvibes

I did actually realise as we walked along the Poly beach so we took a few pics with the castle and the photographer adjusted her settings so that the background was blurry, but I had mentioned to her not to go to town. I didn't want to waste time when we could get other shots in our session.
I see you are staying at GF anyway, so it will save you having to get anywhere else for your session - even if it is just the Poly. I think you made a good choice and I am going to copy you for next year :lmao:

Light jackets are going to be a must. Just got back from a 9 day trip and wore light coats every day. Layers are your friend. Hats and gloves at night were common depending on your tolerance level for the cold at night.

ooh maybe you could run out and find a sweater dress?? TJ Maxx (or Marshalls, Kohl's) has a nice selection for a decent price.
You could wear it with boots, would look really cute. Is there another female in the pictures with you?

I wore sweater dresses and boots when I was in my 20's, but couldn't exactly carry it off right now! (I'm a little too "stocky") I'm the only female and everyone else is wearing jeans and polos, so I'm trying not to look out of place. I'm thinking slacks or jeans and a sweater.

Recently back, thought I'd share, as I know I love getting ideas from everyone's photos!
Did two photoshoots - one at Poly, other at WLodge. Had planned on WLodge, but had never done at Poly before, so wanted to try it also! Would have been better if didn't have sun issues. WLodge was at 4:00 our appointment, so no sun! Had fantastic photographer both times named Beth. Liked her at the Poly, so when went to WL and saw she was our photographer again, was happy!
Had a tough time figuring out what kids would wear. What they are wearing for WL is what they were supposed to wear to Poly - but was such a hot day said eh, just keep on whatever you're wearing. But ended up that I like what they are wearing for the WL pics. This is our second year doing WL during our Thanksgiving trip - and yep, will do again next year also!

I had two coupons for 20% off. Did the CD for both. I think each with 20% off and then plus tax was $83, $85-ish each. The one for WL I also got 5 prints with - because I had booked that early before they changed over the packages or something.... but when picking out my 5 prints, she pulled up both sessions and I picked from both of them which 5 I wanted. Had thought about doing the - isn't there a $49 package with just prints? Was going to do that for one session, but then said eh, just do the cd.
Then I come home and load them onto walmart.com and order my prints and enlargements from there - and gotta say, for a great price they always print out really nice from there. Usually give the 5 prints included in the package to family, as I like the walmart quality of printing better than disney. Go figure!
Should have done just WL, got more pics from that session that I liked better than the Poly. Did like the Poly, but in the end preffered the WL pics. but we really wanted to try a session at the Poly. Next trip is July - and oh, no... too hot to be all sweaty in pics, so figured eh, do it now!
I think I prefer the WL ones because kids are matching, and got more shots of my son in there - he's autistic, and really tough to get a picture of! Gotta say, the shot on the bridge with his twin is the BEST picture I have ever gotten of him!

Hi there. I was a newbie to the whole photopass stuff and did not pre-order my CD. We did do a family photo shoot for $99 at the Poly and I got a CD of that. I thought I remembered reading that for that $99, I could have gotten the photo shoot, PLUS any photopass photos that were taken BEFORE the photo shoot. Is that right? I am just looking at what I can do because my account expires on the 28th and I really want the photopass CD with all the park pics that were taken, but I don't want to spend $149!
Any input?

No you are not correct. If you preordered the photopass CD, that would've been $99 and then you still had to pay the $99 for the family shoot. But you could've then added your photoshoot to your photopass as well to add borders, etc. But being that you did not preorder the CD you cannot get a discount on it it now. So if you want the park pictures, it will still cost 149. If you had your photoshoot added to a photopass card, you can still add borders etc on the photopass site. If you didn't, then I don't think there is anything you can do about that now. But basically you have to buy both. They are seperate things. But they just allow you to add them to photopass if you bought the CD at the photoshoot.
So to sum it all up if you want both you have to pay a minimum of $200 (with the preorder price) to get all the pictures.

Had a great photo session at GF. Had 164 pics taken of which about 25 came out great. Luckily I had booked back in August so I got the CD AND the print package. We were running late, but their computer system was messed up, so they were also running late. The only problem was it was only about 35 degrees outside!! Needless to say we took most of our photos inside. Hopefully the 5 I'm trying to post will show! If it works I'll add more.

Can you see them in my quote though? Thats where I fixed the links. You are posting too much. You just need to click on the pick and a drop box comes down then click on the link that starts with [IMG] and it will copy and then you post it here. It looks like you might be posting an actual page

Just starting to get settled back at home from our trip. We did a photo session at the Animal Kingdom Lodge on 26 December. I will try to get the photos uploaded by this weekend and will post some here once I do. It was a great experience for us. The photographer was very helpful and we got a lot of really good pictures! :)

Sorry I haven't read all the way through this to see if this question has already been answered. But the cd that comes with the package after you pay the money, do you then have the rights to go print those pictures where you want to?

Yes, they are yours to use as you please for personal use. It comes with a printed copyright release in the DVD case on paper as well as the same saved as a jpg file on each disc so you can order instore or online respectively and display this release to avoid any potential problems. I have printed hundreds of mine from different places and nobody has asked to see it, but I have always offered it which may be why. Bottom line is, you can print save, scan and use your photos as if you took them as long as it is purely for personal use.
Hope this helps.

Hi all, we had these taken at the Grand Floridian on December 12th at around 11:00, thus the squinting.:goodvibes Bob was our photographer and I thought he was very professional. He spotted things, like hair across glasses, uncooperative ruffles on my blouse and turned us when the wind was blowing ruining the shot. It was cold that day, around 45 but the sun made it a bit warmer. He took 58 shots of which I discarded about 4. (closed eyes mostly) I booked back in August so I got 7 5x7's as part of my package, all the images on a CD and a photopass card so I've been enhancing like crazy. So glad Disney now offers an extension on your photopass pics, I really need it. From beginning to end, set up, shoot, waiting for pictures to load, printing and photopass it took a good two hours and by the time we left it started to rain and the temp fell.:sad2:I also received a 20% discount with my welcome pack, so with tax it came to about $87.00. Here are a few of my favorites.:goodvibes

I'm sorry it took so long to get these posted! We had our photo session at AKL on 26 December. We had reserved the 20 minute session, but the photographer spent at least 40 minutes taking pictures. I think from checking in until walking away with our prints took a little over an hour. We had originally wanted to get indoor and outdoor pictures, but it was way too cold that day to do anything outside. Here are some of my favorites. I tried to include at least one photo from each photo spot.

We did GF in 2007 and then did the POly in 2009... cant wait to do it for this trip. That stinks that there really isnt a "great" package like b4 but...I love the pics...even if the pics are bad you can "gently" complain (it is ur money) and get a redo. Maybe do the Beach club this time....but I love the Poly. If I wasnt such a dope I would upload some of mine:confused3

Ok. Question. Can anyone get to the beach front at GF to take their OWN pictures or do you have to stay at GF to access this area to take pics yourself?
If the answer is NO, you have to stay there....can someone pretty please :worship: do a price total for me on ONE photo CD of ALL Photopass pics PLUS the session pics and session fee? I've read some of the recent posts and am not sure what the costs are still. We paid the $149 for a CD from October 2010 trip and it was worth it so to be able to put a professional session on the CD also will be great! Also, we'll be there 1/30/11-2/6/11. Is it too late to book a session?
THANK YOU!!!!
EDIT: I tried to do the math myself. Is this right? If I pre-order the PPCD at $99, take the receipt with me when I check in for the session, I only pay $25 for the session fee. Can I then load all of the other PP pics that are taken throughout the trip onto the same CD for a total of only $125 for the session and the trips pics? Sorry, i'm just trying to sort this all out before telling DH about it. :)

I'm not sure what you are asking.
But the second part you are quoting is a OLD offer. That no longer is available. It cost $99 for the resort phot CD. And $99 for a preoreded photpass CD. No deal for the resort photoshoot is connected to photpass.

That's kind of what I was asking. I was confused by reading the first few pages of the thread, realizing it was older info, then skipping forward to the last few pages. So you answered my question, no, that's not the deal that's being offered.

Not sue what you are talking about. The preorder CD is for photopass. Totally different than the resort photoshoot CD which is $100. No preorder for that.

:) I was kind of hoping to get a month and year from EeyoreFan5. I know sometimes oops' happen or the Cast Members are feeling extra generous to do things like this, but it'd be nice to know when they visited.
I've just about made up my mind anyway to just try and get my own pics around the grounds of SSR, so that my girls won't lose even more time away from the parks. Especially to have to not have to travel to a location since they'll be wearing handmade pillow case dresses. The gazebo and grassy areas right in front of the lake look really nice.

When we did our session, I did get a photopass card with all our pictures on it. I've been wondering since then if we would have gotten the card if we hadn't already paid for the CD with all of our session pictures on it. It was a nice bonus to be able to edit our session pictures online regardless, but if they give a photopass card after all of the sessions that it seems like it would make more sense to do the print package without the CD and then preoder the photopass CD.

I think I am going to to try to schedule a photo session at the GF when we go this year. Am I correct in reading that you can only book 30 days out. Also, do I need to pre-order anything or do I just pay for everything when I am there, I was a bit confused by the last few posts?
Will they take both indoor and outdoor pictures weather permitting? I am hoping to get some "maternity" photos taken and would like to have some of by baby bump showing. Has anyone ever done maternity photos in Disney?

You can schedule more than 30 days out, but I'm sure how early. I would just call and ask. You don't need to pre-order anything. When you check-in for your session they will give you a receipt and you'll go to the gift shop and pay there.
You should have no problem getting indoor and outdoor shots, as long as the weather cooperates.

I'm a bit at lost and need your help. Iwas tinking about bookinga 40 min session for our family pictures for this May. I was thinking 40min since we have 4 yo triplets and they either are in a good mood and love pictures or are on a bad mood and it takes forever to have a nice picture. Plus I would love pictures of Dh and I since it will be our 9th wedding anniversary that week and maybea few pictures of the girls and I and daddy and the girls KWIM. Now the debate, GF or Y&B? I really don't know what to pick. They both seem to have nice views also what kind of clothes would you wear? Don't bother asking my dh because the answer will be "As you wish hunny, what ever you want" do you know until what time they run the photoshot? I was thinking about early evening like 6:30pm or so.

I think they stop around 5PM. I could be wrong, and I know it depends on the time of year too.

we had a 6:30 or 7 pm session at the Poly during the month of September....that was a couple years ago, but I'm pretty sure I've seen a ton of mentions of later sessions within this thread and elsewhere. I sure hope they haven't stopped the evening sessions.
ETA: I'd imagine that they base it on the sunset. The sun was going down during our session...and I don't think our photographer had anyone after us

Hello all! Back on this thread to try and decided if we should do this again on our trip in August. It seems like the pricing has changed since our trip in October '09, there was no 20 or 40 minute option back then....also do you still get the discount if you pre-purchase your regular photopass CD? I think we payed $75 for the CD last time and that came with 5 prints. I don't really care about the 5 prints I just want the CD.
And since there have been lots of posts aking for pictures, here are some from our Poly shoot 10/09, these were take early am, I think we had a 9am appt.
DS is autistic so these are actually great pictures of him

First you need to upload to an image hosting site like photobucket.
Once uploaded there, when you click on the photo, you will see several codes to link the photo, choose IMG code (its the last one on photobucket) and simply copy and paste the URL into you post here

wow I love that last picture of your kids looking out at the castle!!!!
Any suggestions as to what to wear. I jsut booked shoot at the GF. It is going to be just me and I want to show off my baby bump. I m either thinking of doing all black, or doing a white shirt with khaki pants. Any thoughts on what would be better for the setting of the GF.
Also, do you think they will let me do some bare belly shots, with say just a tube top on and skirt?

Those are beautiful - all real keepers. We did the Poly one last year and were so impressed with what we got that we are going to do another one this year and GF is one of the options in the top rankings. After seeing yours, even more so! How many photos did you get on your CD (did you get the CD or the prints?) I would also love to know what time you went. We had a small challenge with glare from the sun in the late afternoon for ours, although that is usually related to time of the year as much as it is to time of day.
Those are real keepers you have there. :thumbsup2

We did the 40 minute package with the CD and got about 88 photos. Our shoot was at 2:30pm and the sun was very bright on the beach but I'm still happy with the way they turned out. I also did the Poly shoot last year at 5:30pm and was really happy with those also! You can't go wrong with either hotel! :)

They came out beautifully. I really felt it was one of the best $100 spends I have ever had. Prior to that, I had only a handful of pics of me and my daughter together since I am usually the only one with the camera. I loved the Poly, but would rather have something different for another shoot. I was toying with GF or AKL, but GF is a lot less hassle to get to if you rely on Disney transportation.
Thank you for sharing.

I would set aside at least 90 minutes, excluding transportation time. We had to wait a bit for our 20 minute session and it was really more like a half hour. We then waited another 15 minutes or so for the photographer to load all the pictures from the memory card. At the time we booked the photos were still included with the $99 package so we did spend a while trying to pick the prints we wanted.

Here is my thought...probably the only time we could do it if they have an opening. We have a 10:45 ADR at 1900PF. I was thinking that if we could do the photoshoot at 10 at GF we should have plenty of time to get done (and change DD into her costume for breakfast) and then by the time we are done eating, the CD would be done. Does that sound possible?

I don't know if someone posted it but the price have changed. I just made an appointment for May and was told you can now book 1 YEAR in advance and the pictures are no longer done by photopass photographer. They are now taken by Disney Photography. The change took place a few weeks ago. It's $99 +tax ($106) for the 20 minutes session and $300 or $350 for 1 hour session but it comes with retouched photos. You no longer wait for the cd at the end of the photo shot, you have to go back to the resort where the pictures were taken between 5 & 7 pm to pick it up. You no longer can order only prints, you only get the cd. Pictures are taken from 7:30 -11:30 and then from 3:00-7:00pm. You need to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment and if you are more then 2 minutes later then the session, you will need to reschedule. The depot when making the appointment is $25, for 20 minutes one, and they take the balance 1 week prior to appointment.

Thanks for the updated info! Does the $99 price include the photo CD, or is that just the sitting fee for the apt?

It does include the cd. I called back to change our date this morning and once again was told the same info. Oh and for the lady that asked when it changed, the new rate is effective since March 1 and that's why we couldn't book in February for May.

We are leaning towards doing this sometime during our May 26-June 4th :goodvibesvacation and I have a couple of questions I am hoping the DIS can help with:
I am most interested in the outdoor/beach/hammock pictures - which would be the best choice Poly or GF?
What number do I call to schedule this?
For this time of year, what time of day would be best to do the photos?
Thanks for any advice you may have!

as it's been a few years since I've done this, (and I went in September) I don't have advice on timing or which number to use...
but I do have input on the locale. I would choose Poly. I absolutely loved our outdoor/hammock pics there

My apologies in advance... I know that someone has probably clearly answered my question... but with 165 pages and the fact information seems to have changed, I thought I would just cut to the chase and ask.
At one time, if you pre-ordered your pp cd the cost could go toward your session, right? Is that still the case?
I guess what I want to know is if I do this photo session will I still have to order my pp cd for all the pics taken in the park?

we planned on doing this on our June trip with extended family. There will be 13 of us so we planned on getting the 40 min session but looks like that is no longer available and don't really want to shell out the 300 for an hour. Would we be able to squeeze a shoot for 13 people into 20 minutes?

We did our session at the Poly last year and I would love to do another one. I was thinking of the GF, but do you think it is too similar? I have looked at some of the pics posted on here and love them, but wonder if we should go for something different, like AK(?) I keep thinking it will be a different year so in a way, does it really matter if the setting is different? But then again, should I go for something totally different? Oh decisions. I know there is not going to be a right or wrong answer - not sure that that is helping matters :rolleyes1

I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but I don't have time to weed through 150+ pages in this thread. What time of day to you recommend to have photos taken at the Poly in April? Ideally, I don't want squinting eyes or dripping sweat. I know, kind of hard given the hot weather in Orlando.
For those of you who had your photos taken at 6 to 7 pm, did your photos come out a bit dark since the sun is starting to set?
We had photos taked at GF last June. I think that we had a 9 or 10 am appt. It was already very hot. The sun was really bright so we had squinty eyes for many of our beach photos.
Thanks a bunch!
