Hi! We leave this Sat!
I've searched all over, and can't find out what's included with the Ddp at Tokyo Dining. Is it the combinations listed on the menus, or do they have other choices?
Any help would be much appreciated!
If no one here knows, I'll be sure to post when we get back, the DIS boards have been so helpful to our planning!

Thanks!

They never show on the online menus, you usually find out when you get there but I know that the sushi is not included and I believe that the Steak & Shrimp combo is not (I could be wrong on this) plus it was reported this week that a diner who went was not allowed to refill her soda.

This restaurant looks great but without the sushi and Steak & shrimp plus limited soda I am thinking of avoiding this one.

I am wondering if your reply is for Teppan Edo and not for Toyko dining? I hope so, 'cause most of the menu at Toyko Dining IS sushi!
I'm afraid that if I call the reservation number they won't really know.
Could you direct me to where it was reported about the poor person who was not allowed to refill her soda? Gak!

oh, gosh, ya know what your right! Sorry I didn't think about the new restaurant.

As far as the other post I will try to search for it. I know it was posted within the last week when I read it but I was surprised, especially since the last time I ate at the restaurant it was a tab bit salty, good just salty and I know I wouldn't pay for a refill I would probably just drink water. Ill see if I can find the post.

Tepan Edo is the hibachi restaurant. Tokyo Dining is the table service, dine at your own table Japanese restaurant. And no, the sushi is not included in the DDP. But we were allowed refills on our sodas. We ordered the sushi OOP and it was great.

Thanks so much!
Do you know what WAS included on the plan? If we have to pay OOP for the sushi, we will, just have to plan where to use those TS credits then.
I've become a super DIS board planner! I even stopped by Home Depot and got my green ears yesterday--my DH thinks I'm a bit crazy:goodvibes

Can anyone help me here? thank you again, sorry for being a pain, I have searched and searched, I guess next I'll call the restaurant!

So, I just went back and listened to the Oct 19 Unplugged podcast, and they said the sushi was fabulous, but didn't mention the DDP!

I need some help, anyone?

subscribing! Tokyo Dining is a sushi tempura restaurant. :goodvibes
We have DXDDP & I can understand not including the sushi for an appetizer but if the sushi is not going to be included as an entree I can't see going :sad2: it would just be too sad

Please say it isn't so:eek:

One last bump in the hopes someone who might know will read this!
But I'll definitely come back and give a report, since it seems like no one knows!
Thanks
Maria

but I do know that you can't order sushi to go there.
We were dining at Teppan Edo and I had a few table services left and asked if you could order Tokyo Dining to go and the answer was no. I can never figure that out. I asked some other table service restaurants at Hollywood Studios if they did take out and they said no. Then I asked them can you order it like you were eating in and then get it boxed up and they said yes! Can you believe it? Anyways, I used the table services on counter services. Deluxe dining plan, I was making sure I left with 0 credits. Mission Accomplished!

We ate at Tokyo Dining last week. We were on the Deluxe DDP. We were allowed to order an appetizer (not sushi), but for the entree we were able to choose one of the sushi platers. So yes, there are Sushi options at Tokyo dining.

Teppan Edo on the other hand is the Hibachi as mentioned. There are no sushi options for the entree there. But the food is excellent, especially the Fillet Mignon.

JSTX--thank you so much for the info! I'm going to cross my fingers and assume that the rules are the same for the DDP as the DxDP, minus the appetizer. I have also resigned myself and alerted my DH that we might just pay OOP for sushi, but we are going to order some!

Just wondering about your experience -- so is the Tempura & Sushi combo entree available under the DDP?

Is the steak and shrimp included on the Deluxe dining plan?

We ate at Tokyo Dining on the Basic DDP last week and there were two sushi combinations that were included on the DDP.

I got the basic combination, which was 6 pieces of nigiri (maguro, hamachi, sake, red tobiko, and two other pieces I can't remember) and a California Roll. There is also a Deluxe combination that in addition to the basic combo, includes 4 other kinds of fish (sea urchin and scallop were two I remember) plus egg.

The sushi was excellent. Very fresh, large pieces and a beautiful presentation. I really enjoyed eating there. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for that information! I'm definitely going to add Tokyo Dining to our December ADR list now.

Hibachi is where they cook in front of you on a large flat griddle; the chefs will perform tricks with their cutting tools, salt and pepper shakers, turn an onion into a volcano, etc. This part of the Japan Pavilion is called Teppen Edo. You sit around the chef. The other part of the dining experience is called Tokyo Dining, where you sit at regular tables and order off a menu just like anywhere else. At Tokyo Dining, the emphasis is on sushi and tempura. At Teppen Edo, the emphasis is on seasoned meats and seafood.

Hope this helps.
