I have been checking out the menus on allears (good thing its lunchtime here, I am getting hungry) and I was wondering if tax was included in the price.

If not, do you need to pay tax as well as tip on the dinning plan? What is tax in Florida?

Tax is not included on the menu prices.

If you buy the DDP you will not need to pay tax on the food in addition to the plan cost.

If you pay OOP you will need to pay tax on the food.

Either way, with the DDP or OOP you will need to pay gratuity. A mandatory 18% gratuity will be charged on all using the DDE card. A mandatory 18% gratuity will be charged for groups of 6 or more, regardless of how you are paying (OOP or DDP)

Tax in Orange County is 6.5%, which includes most of Disney. A few locations are 7% because they are in a different county (All Stars is one of the places I believe, not sure that any other resorts fall in that other county)

When you buy the disney dining plan at check in do you pay sales tax on top of the 37.99? I'm sure this has been stated before but never heard.

I expected the tax to be added on to the daily rate of the DDP, but I don't think this happened during our last trips in May and October '07.

Thanks LSchrow, So basically that is a another savings over DDE. Tax can add up when your dining total runs around $300.00 a night.
