Well, here I go... my attempt to start my Disney Wedding Planning Journal! I have read so many fabulous PJs and TRs, so I wanted to contribute to the club also! I am a little intimidated, but I will try to do my best!

Where is all started!

Jared and I met in 1999 while working at Kmart together. I would love to say it was love at first sight, but no! I was a senior in high school and he was attending a local community college. He just didn’t hit my radar, but I am pretty sure I hit his! My first impression of Jared was as "the thin, squirrelly, outgoing comedian guy that worked in the sporting goods department". I didn't pay much attention due to senior year activities, until I found him waiting for me by my car after work one evening, looking quite nervous... very out of his character. He asked me if I would like to go to see a movie with him that evening, and feeling his nervousness I said yes! Our first date was that very evening. He took me to see the great, new movie at the time: The Sixth Sense…. if that tells you anything! :happytv: After that night, I wasn’t too interested still, but I could tell he was. He called me frequently each week for the next few months, and we went on little dinner and movie dates every couple of weeks, but I wasn’t head-over-heels….yet! HE WAS! Then it happened! It was early January 2000, (our first date “The Sixth Sense” date had been in August 1999) and we were on one of our little friendly dates when we decided to go to Wal-Mart… don’t ask me why! We were playing around with the fun kids’ toys in the toy aisle and I came across a fabulous Eeyore Plush that sang a dreary song! :eeyore: I loved it so much that I was tickled to tears! Jared was very delighted by my obsession over this Eeyore and he referred to it frequently after that night. Before that he didn’t realize my passion for all things Disney, but he received a little taste that day. During our next date, he told me he had a present to give me and low-and-behold, it was the Dreary Eeyore that I fell in love with.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/eeyore-standup.jpg
From that point on we had an obsession with Eeyore! Anytime we saw anything Eeyore we had to buy it… it got so bad that our families joined in. We developed quite a collection of Eeyore memorabilia over the next few months and then one Eeyore item caught my attention. On our first Christmas as a couple (2000), everyone close to us was aware of our sudden Eeyore thing, and they must have all shopped at the Disney Store that year because I received four of the same mini-Eeyore-snowglobe. Then I fell in love with Disney mini-snowglobes and to this day I now have over 300 of them. Yes, I have an overwhelming collection of Disney snowglobes. After all of this rambling… I promise I have a point. Disney has been a part of my life since I was a child, but it is a huge part of Jared’s and my relationship. :earsgirl: :earsboy: In 2003, we finally saved enough money to make our first trip to Walt Disney World…
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/DisneyPhotoImage8.jpg
We loved it so much we have been back every year since. He proposed to me at Disney World in August of 2005, one of the happiest days of my life. I was very surprised and caught off guard. He popped the question as we were flying around the Magic Kingdom on the back of Dumbo! :dumbo: Yes, he proposed to me while riding Dumbo the Flying Elephant!
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/100_0977.jpg
As we where imagining our wedding, we could not think of any place more perfect than to be married at Walt Disney World. :bride: :groom: So… in June 2008, Jared and I will be married at Disney’s Sea Breeze Point, witnessed by a small group of family and friends. I hope you enjoy reading about our wedding preparations throughout the next several months! I know it will be my Year of a Million Dreams!

Wedding Week Events!
We are not planning to schedule a lot of wedding related get-togethers through the week of our wedding because we really want our guests to be able to enjoy the Disney Parks at their leisure. The only day that we are requiring our guests to be anywhere is the wedding day… for the ceremony and the reception lunch. I have debated and debated about planning fun things like the Epcot Dessert Party or a welcome dinner, but I finally decided against it. We are informing our guests about the parks we will be attending each day, but it will be up to them whether they will join us or not. I really want them to have a relaxing vacation with a wedding on the side. Many of our guests have never been to Walt Disney World and I want them to have as much time to experience it as possible.
I am very excited about our resorts and our honeymoon plans. We are staying at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. We have stayed at Riverside, but never French Quarter.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/POFQ.jpg

We will be staying five nights at POFQ , through our wedding, and then we are leaving for our very first Disney Cruise! :sail: HURRAY! We are so excited!! We are taking a four-day, three-night cruise that will port at Nassau and Disney’s Castaway Cay.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/Cruise.jpg

After our amazing cruise we will be returning to Walt Disney World for another four days and three nights! During our second round of Disney World we are staying at the resort of my dreams. I have always wanted to stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and now I will get my chance! I think I am more excited about our stay at Wilderness more than anything else… except the wedding of course!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wilderness-lodge_lg.jpg

Jared and I are from Southwest Missouri and WE ARE driving to and from Disney! :drive: Yes… we are crazy, but we have done it every year since our first trip! Jared has never flown before and I haven’t since I was twelve, so we are more comfortable with the drive. Plus, we plan on transporting many, many items for the wedding, clothes to last us for two weeks, and room to spare for souvenirs. Driving is the best bet! So after our wonderfully long Disney vacation, we will still have a two day drive back home! WEEW!!:scared:

I am sorry it has been so long since I have posted, but I have accomplished quite a few wedding details within the past couple weeks. I had my phone appointment with Rosie from Disney’s Floral and Photography. I officially reported my wedding colors to her and we discussed my bouquet, Jared’s and my dad’s boutonniere and our Magic Kingdom Photo Session. I did decide on the Tussy Mussy Bouquet, like I reported above. Since my wedding colors are very similar to the pictured bouquet and boutonniere, we are not making many changes. The only difference between my bouquet and the one pictured is mine will have pale yellow roses instead of white. This will tie in my pale yellow, white and pale green colors. I also decided to switch the boutonnieres to a single pale yellow rose from the pictured Tussy Mussy version. I thought the roses would be more masculine for my groom and my dad.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/tussymussy.jpg

The most exciting thing we discussed was our Magic Kingdom Photo Session. Since I am using Randy Chapman for my ceremony photography, I get to replace the original Disney Ceremony Photography with a Disney Photo Session. Jared and I of course decided on a Magic Kingdom Photo Session. We planned it for a morning on the second phase of our Walt Disney World trip. When we return from our Disney Cruise, after our family leaves, we will have more time to enjoy it. I am very excited. Now, I just have to think about what Jared and I should wear.
I also had my first planning session with my wedding coordinator, Kathleen Reynolds, yesterday. She cleared up a few questions I had about the limousine rides, the cake reception, and substituting three bottles of cider for the one bottle of fairytale cuvee. We aren’t really alcohol drinkers. I also found out from our conversation that I really don’t have too much more planning to do, which is a relief. That is another bonus about having an Disney Escape Wedding. They pretty much do everything for you.
Throughout the past few weeks I also created and made my wedding invitations. I was stressing out about this originally because I could not find any invitation kits that made 10-15 invitations. All I could find was expensive packages that made 50-100 invitations. I did not want to waste my money when I really only needed about twelve. I eventually found some scrapbook materials and made my own. I was quite proud of myself. I ended up making about 15 invitations for only 25 cents apiece. Better than fifty dollars for a kit that I would only use ten percent of.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/100_4873a.jpg

I also made my maid-of-honor’s bouquet this weekend. I am praying it doesn’t look too tacky with my real flowers in my bouquet, but I just wanted my sister to be able to keep her bouquet. I also purchased little glass slippers from Hobby Lobby and decided to put wedding mints in mesh baggies and tie them in the slippers. I plan to hand these out to my guests at our reception lunch. I also found perfect little picture frames (I think they are suppose to be place-card holders, but I am using them as frames) that look like little Cinderella Coaches. I am going to put a picture of Jared and I in each one and give them to our guests along with the glass slippers. We are also doing the bubble thing instead of petals, because I don’t want to have to track down and pick up all the petals every throws. So bubbles are the way to go for us. I tied little yellow and green ribbons around one. Each of these items are in the picture I am posting.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/goodies.jpg

Last, but not least is my newsletter. I sent each of my guests an introduction newsletter in September and today I created my second one. It will inform them of our daily itinerary, good deals on transportation, the Disney FASTPASS, The Year of a Million Dreams, Extra Magic Hours, Disney Property Transportation, and Disney’s PhotoPass. The majority of my guests have never been to Walt Disney World, so I am trying to inform them about all the goodies they may not know otherwise.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/news-1.jpg

If anyone has any other ideas that I can send to my guests or information that I can tell them that I might be missing, please let me know. I want this event to be as smooth for my guests as possible.

I am getting a little nervous. I have my final dress fitting on Saturday and I am hoping I still fit into my dress. When I bought it back in October, I told myself "oh, by March I can lose at little weight and tone the areas I am a little self-conscious about"... that did not happen. I am praying I don't get to the fitting and find my dress is a little snug.

Also, I finally decided on my wedding shoes and I ordered them. They arrived last week and I am anxious to see how they look with the dress on Saturday. I was originally going to go with the little silk slippers, but the wedding dress seamstress told me if I found a shoe with a little bit of a heel, the dress would not have to be altered length-wise. So, I can't wait to see how the new shoes work. I do love the shoes though. They are the basic clear shoes that look like Cinderella's glass slippers. They are also going to put the bustle into my dress… I can’t wait to see how that will turn out.

The days are ticking away. I am getting more anxious by the day. I live in the mid-west and our winter weather has been crazy this year. I am a school teacher and have been overwhelmed with snow days, including today. I am ready for Florida and warm weather.

So, I had a blonde moment this weekend. I had originally posted that I was going to have my dress fitting this Saturday (yesterday, March 8). All day Friday I was anticipating a call from David’s Bridal to confirm my appointment for Saturday. They usually call the day before an appointment to confirm. After school I was telling my fellow teachers about my fitting the next day and they wanted to join me, but I told them David’s Bridal had not called yet. So I picked up the phone and called David’s myself to confirm. When I spoke to the very nice lady on the phone, she told me she did not have me down for an appointment on that day. That is when I started to panic. A million things started to run through my mind: Did the ditzy lady that made the appointment for me in October fail to write it down? Did I miss my appointment? Was it supposed to be last weekend? I couldn’t even imagine! Well, the lady then asked me when my wedding date was and then she looked it up. She found my name on an appointment for next Saturday (March 15). I have no idea why March 8th had been in my mind for five months, but I wasn’t surprise. I ended up being the ditzy one after all. Total blonde moment! :rotfl: So, I will be waiting one more week for my fitting! :hourglass Next Saturday, March 15, I will be having my fitting with my shoes and everything. Originally they told me that if I found a shoe with a little bit of a heel, they wouldn’t have to alter its length. I am hoping the only thing they will have to do to my dress is put the bustle in.

By the way… Here is a picture of my shoes! I was a little nervous about how cheesy they would look, but when I put them on I loved them. I could not resist the Cinderella look. I will just have to make sure and get a great pedicure before the wedding, since my toes will definitely show through the shoes.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/shoes.jpg

I also finally received my wedding band. DH and I ordered the band a few weeks ago and I pick it up last week. I have a small, marquise solitaire for my engagement ring, so the wedding band I picked out accents it very well. I have small hands, so a big fancy ring is not for me. Small and traditional is my style. You will have to imagine the rings together until I take a picture of my rings. The only pictures I could find online where with the rings separated. I promise I will post a picture of the real rings soon.

I know this is not Disney related, but I just had to post about it. It kind of goes along with the pre-wedding activities. Months ago I was trying to think of something fun that my sister, my mom, and I could do for some togetherness before I get married off. One morning I was listening to the radio and they announced that Michael Buble would be coming to the St. Louis area in March. Then it hit me! All three of us love Michael Buble  and my sister lives in St. Louis, about three hours from where my mom and I live in Springfield, MO. So, I thought it would be perfect if we could go. I bought the tickets and surprise them with them on Christmas day. :santa: We had been counting down the days to the concert for months. This week was the big event. I got a substitute teacher and took the day off, so my mom and I drove up to St. Louis and stayed with my sister. :drive: We went to the concert on Wednesday, March 5 and it was amazing. Micheal Buble is an amazing performer. It was also a very special event for us girls too. My mom said that this would probably be the last big event that we all do togther until my wedding, which was kind of sad. But that was what I was planning for when I arranged it. Here are some picture from the concert for all of you Buble fans. If you are not a Michael Buble fan or have never heard of him... go right now and buy his CD. He is amazing!

Ok… so the stress of the destination wedding is starting to hit me. I have been lucky so far not to have too many worries, but now I am starting to feel it. So, since I am only having an escape wedding I only have 18 guests coming to the wedding. The list includes: my mom, my step-dad, my dad, my step-mother, my little sister, my big sister and her husband, my two close friends, my aunt, uncle and cousin, my DH’s mother, DH’s sister, brother-in-law, and nephew, DH’s father and step-mother. Now I originally left it up to them to find their own transportation to and from Disney, but of course I told them I could assist with the booking process if needed. Most of my side of the family is flying into Orlando’s smaller airport, Orlando-Sanford Airport. This airport is a little farther from Disney, but the airfare is cheap. Now my step-mother has requested that I need to find a good deal for her, my dad, and my little sister’s transportation from the airport to the Disney resort… and that was fine. I have researched and researched, but can’t find a service under one hundred dollars one way. I wanted to just book a shuttle service that could hold up to 10 people and it would be cheaper for all to ride together from the airport, since they will all be going to the same Disney resort, but I can predict my step-mother not wanting do that. But, maybe I am just worrying for nothing!

Hello again! :wave2: Well, once again it has been a while since I have posted. I do apologize! I have been super busy with school (I am an elementary teacher), which has been taking up most of my time. I am not complaining; keeping busy has made the last few months fly by. I hope the same applies to the next month. I am getting more excited about the wedding and honeymoon by the day. My school district lets out in mid-May, so I am counting down the days so I can put all of my focus on the wedding after school is out. :teacher:
During the past weeks, I did complete my wedding planning worksheets with all of my goody requests. I faxed them to my wedding coordinator, Kathleen Reynolds, last weekend. On Friday I received her mock-up of the wedding layout and budget. I have been anticipating this milestone and yesterday I paid off our wedding budget balance. Yippee!
Also, a few weekends ago, we finally ordered DF’s tuxedo. We went to Men’s Wearhouse and they had exactly what we wanted. Men’s Wearhouse is a partner to David’s Bridal, so they coordinate colors perfectly. We ordered a classic tuxedo with a vest and a long tie. The tie and vest has a geometric print and the color is peridot, which matches flawlessly with my sister’s maid-of-honor dress. I also found a coordinating tie for my father to wear with his suit. Something that surprised us about Men’s Wearhouse and comforted a big worry for us was their rental and pick-up options. Since we are traveling to Disney, we have been worried that our rental fee would sky-rocket because we would have the tuxedo for over a week. :sad2: We explained this concern to the woman that helped us and she reassured us that she could send the order information to their Kissimmee, FL store and we could pick-up and drop off our tuxedo while we are in Florida. WOW, what a big relief! That relieved a lot of stress, and it will save more luggage room in the car and it will be one last thing to worry about lugging around. Here is a picture of the tuxedo and exact colors of my wedding. The tuxedos the men are wearing are exact to what my fiancé will wear.

Today, I finally ordered the garter and guest book I have been eyeing for a few months. I have been waiting to make sure I did not stumble across any others that I may like better. :scratchin Today I made a decision and went ahead and ordered them. The garters and book match each other and both say “…And They Lived Happily Ever After.” There is also a matching flower girl basket, pen stand, unity candle, and ring bearer pillow, but I just stuck with the garters and guest book. I ordered them from www.theweddingoutlet.com. What a wonderful site! Here are pictures of both the garter and guest book:

Well, I am counting down the days every day. I have also been cheating and checking my shower registries each day to see what I have gotten so far. I know… I am horrible. My work shower is this Tuesday after school, and my family and friend shower will be Saturday, May 17. I can’t believe everything is so close! I can hardly stand my excitement!:hyper:

Yay, you're so close! I just read your PJ and it all sounds too wonderful! You'll have a blast! I'm getting married at Sea Breeze Point in December with Reverend Herring and Randy as well! :thumbsup2 You have to tell me how Rev. Herring is in person. I'm nervous because while I'm a people person I want to be sure I'm not too nervous around someone I don't know and who is quite a vital part of our marriage!

Can't wait to see how it all turns out for you! :yay:

Thank You for the wonderful post. I am glad I am not the only bride crazy enough to drive the long distance. Although it takes longer to drive, it is kind of fun and relaxing too. I like spending those few days with my fiance... just the two of us. Now, the drive back is a different story. We are always ready to be home very quickly.

Also, I followed your planning journal link and am in the process of reading through it. I love your ideas. You are a very devoted disboards blogger. I can't believe how many pages you have already. Your thread is going to be massive by the time your wedding rolls around. You go girl! :cheer2:

I am getting so excited by the day! School is winding down and I can feel the day getting closer and closer. My students ask me every day if I am getting more excited. I think they are more excited for me than for themselves that school is almost out… and these are fourth-graders. But they are outstanding fourth-graders!!!
Over the weekend I made my wedding/reception favors… all 25 of them. I now that is sooo many (wink-wink)! I bought the mini Cinderella glass slippers from Hobby Lobby and put white, mint jelly beans in white mesh baggies. I then put the mint baggies inside the slippers and tied yellow and peridot ribbon around the slippers to keep the baggies in place. They turned out very nice.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding002.jpg

I also created a sample wedding program over the weekend. I played around and finally came out with a nice layout. I am using the same materials that I used when I made the invitation. The only thing I need to get before I can make the lot of them is to find a nice picture of DH and me. My family bridal shower in on May 17th and my sister is coming down from St. Louis, so I think I am going to have her take DH and I to a nice park and snap a few formal pictures of us. For the time being, I used a filler picture for the sample program. It is a picture that was taken by a Disney Photographer at Animal Kingdom in front of the Tree of Life.

On Friday I also had my final fitting with the bustle. They taught my mom and me how to do and undo the bustle. It looked very nice. I also got to bring the dress home for good. YAY! I do not have to worry about anymore dress related things.

While we were at David’s Bridal I found a mini clutch that I loved, so my mom bought it for me. I don’t know if I will carry it or not, but I just had to have it. I also bought some wedding slipper in case my wedding shoes start to hurt me during the picture sessions and reception lunch; … and because I have been wanting a pair since my best friend wore them at her wedding. I also bought a mini purse for my MOH, it matches her dress perfectly (peridot green). I don’t know if I will have her carry it, but I got it anyway.

(Do you see the hidden mickeys on my slippers?)
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding032.jpg

Finally, I picked out my veil on Friday too. It is just a plain, single layer veil, nothing fancy. I might decide to put some hidden Mickey rhinestones on it later, but I haven’t made a decision yet. I really want a veil look, but I don’t want the veil to overpower my dress or my hair. Oh, I also found the hairstyle that I want. I will try to post a picture.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding031.jpg

Here are my hairstyles that I hope to achieve:

Today I did my online cruise check-in for our Disney Honeymoon Cruise. Disney Cruise Line now offers the option to fill out all the check-in forms online to save time on the day of arrival. I did it and it was very simple and hassle-free. I am sure I will thank myself when the day comes to board the ship, because it will be a lot smoother without having to fill out all the forms when we arrive at Port Canaveral. I also planned one shore excursion for DH and me. Our first port of call will be Nassau, so I thought booking an excursion would be fun. I chose the Atlantis Aquaventure excursion. It is an eight hour event that will transport us to the famous Atlantis resort.
We will spend the day at the Atlantis Resort Aquaventure water park. We will be transported via an air-conditioned motor coach to Paradise Island. Once we arrive, we'll first go on a walking tour featuring overviews of Atlantis' famous aquarium, casinos, stores, and dining.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/Atlantis2.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/atlantis3.jpg

Next, it's onto Aquaventure. This 63 acre water park features water slides, water holes, special effects, 'river' rapids and water holes. There's the 120 foot tall Power Tower with 4 slides, and the Abyss which sends you on a near vertical 50 foot plunge through complete darkness into the pool below. Inner tubes will take you to The Drop, The Falls, The Surge and The Rapids. DH and I are big water park buffs. We love the Disney water parks, so we are anxious to compare the Atlantis Aquaventure to Disney.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/atlantis1.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/cr-atlantis1.jpg

Aside from the water park we will be able to enjoy the resort's sandy shores as well as the Royal Baths or Lazy River pools. There are also bike, kayak and snorkeling rentals available. The casinos offer slots, blackjack and craps. We can spend our winnings at the upscale shopping centers. An air-conditioned motor coach will take us back to port after our day at Atlantis. We are super excited. The excursion costs a pretty penny, but it is worth it, since we get to take advantage of all the amenities the Atlantis Resort has to offer. This is also the only excursion we are booking. When we port at Disney’s Castaway Cay, we will be going with the flow. Enjoying the island at our leisure!:cutie:

I have been working on my welcome bags lately,... or more like thinking about the way I want them to turn out. I have gotten so many great ideas from past Disney brides, so thank you ladies! I know I want to find perdot green or yellow gift bags for my adult guests. I also need to find small Disney bags for the three children that will be attending the wedding. Anyway, I want to put a custom-made tag or logo on each of the welcome bags to make it more personal. I created these on MSWord this weekend. Tell me what you think...

Well, last weekend I had my family and friend bridal shower! It was wonderful! My sister and two best friends did a great job planning. My sister lives in St. Louis (about 3 hours from me) and she planned all of it from a distance. She traveled down on Friday and the shower was on Saturday!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/2008074.jpg

The decorations were perfect. They went along with my wedding theme of peridot green and pale yellow. My two friends ordered the cake. It was great! They surprised me with Tinkerbell as the cake topper!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/2008048.jpg
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/2008073.jpg

We had the shower at my aunt’s house… it was a packed house. More people showed up than I expected. It was so nice; there were about 30 gals there. I received so many amazing gifts. My sister created the games and she got really creative. She even integrated a technology aspect. She filmed DF the night before while asking him questions and then she asked me the questions to see if I answered them the same as DF. She then played DF responses in front of everyone. It was hilarious, everyone loved it. I did pretty good… I match 11 questions out of 20 with DF. We also played the “Who Knows the Bride Best Game”. I was surprise by the winner. Out of 30 guests, my step-mother won. My mom was not very happy; she thought she was for sure going to win. I think my step-mother was just a lucky guesser. It was pretty funny seeing the look on everyone’s face. I received a lot of red kitchen appliances. My kitchen is Mickey Mouse themed, so I registered for many red kitchen items. I got my red cookware, a red George Foreman Grill, a red blinder, red kitchen gadgets, and many more.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/2008067-1.jpg

My future mother-in-law got us the Precious Moments Bride and Groom with Mickey ears! It is so beautiful. My future sister-in-law got us two personalized, silver bookends from disneyshopping.com. They feature a picture frame on each one… one has a Mickey Groom and the other a Minnie Bride. The Mickey Groom side has my DF’s and my name engraved on it and the Minnie Bride side has our wedding date engraved on it. They are really neat!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding008.jpg

The whole event was an amazing experience. That night, my sister, my two best friends, and I went out to eat and then went to a local dueling piano bar for my official bachelorette party. They bought me a “Miss Bachelorette” sash and made me wear it. It was a great evening. The whole day was one to remember!

Oh, I know... I just can not believe it! It is getting so close. My DF and I are off today so we are doing some serious wedding errands. We are going to the court house today to get our marriage license application notarized. We are doing it through the mail so we don't have to waste time worrying about it on vacation. Although, I am not sure I would make the same decision if I did it again. It is a big hassle. I originally applied for it at the beginning of April and it has taken too long to get everything confirmed. It has been making me a little nervous. We are also going to go shopping for all of the goodies for our guest welcome bags. I hope you are doing amazing, our days are getting so close. Before we know it the big day will be here!

I've loved reading your journal! You've worked so hard! It sounds like you're going to have a fabulous time! And your dress is a big "wow"!

If you opt to go on another 3- or 4-night cruise, and you like Atlantis, definitely book a room at the Comfort Suites. You can get all the amenities of Atlantis for about $180 per four people!

We took a 4-night in January, and we walked around Atlantis (we took a cab to the ferry port for a dolphin encounter, and Atlantis is across the street), and we decided we definitely wanted to do Aquaventure. We found out that you can book a room overnight and then get to go to Aquaventure. We're going on one next January again and doing the Comfort Suites. Definitely a deal! I've talked to several people who have done it, and it's great.

I can't wait to see pictures!

Thank you Mocharilla! I love the BM dress too. The dress I have pictured is a little darker green than the actual dress is. David's Bridal calls the dress pictured "Clover Green", but the dress my sister is actually wearing is called "Peridot Green". The sash and under-skirt are still white though. So, I have been wanting to get nice pictures taken of DF and me, because after eight years together we have never done that… can you believe it! All of the pictures of us together consist of Walt Disney World pictures or just casual everyday pictures. I didn’t want to spend a lot for a photographer, but I wanted outside shots. So, I dragged my step-father and Jared to the park on Saturday and had my stepdad take some pictures of us. We found many great places to shoot and many of the pictures turned out really nice. Here are just a handful of photos that we came away with. Let me know what you think…

Yes... my collection can be a little overwhelming to some people. I am glad that there are people out there that can understand me. Living in the mid-west (a little far from Disney), I don't come across too many people that understand my obsession! That is why I love disboards! I get to meet wonderful people like you.:rotfl:

I'm really shocked by how your seamstress did your bustle however.....considering we have the same dress I assumed they would have bustled them fairly similarly.......I received mine a week ago and this is what she did [Davids Bridal Seamstress BTW]

OK, so I have been working on my welcome bags lately. I do have a long way to go with them, but I wanted to post what I have done so far. I chose white gift bags and decorated them with the graphic that I made. I also punched green cardstock with my Mickey punches and glued them to the bags. I am pretty happy with them. It is not the best work I have ever done, but I can be satisfied with it. ::yes::

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding004-1.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding005-1.jpg

For the two kids that will be attending, I purchased smaller gift bags and put Disney scrapbook stickers on them. I also had some left over Mickey letter stickers, so I put the kids’ names on their bags as well. I think I have finished buying for the kid bags. Here are a few pictures of the goodies that will be going into each child’s bag. :earsboy: :earsgirl:

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding003-1.jpg

Oh, I also purchased a few Disney Dollars to stick in the kids’ bags too. I love the look and feel of the Disney Dollars; the dollars feel like real money. Notice; Scrooge McDuck’s signature on the bills! So clever!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding012-1.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding013.jpg

I plan to purchase many snacks, necessities, and fun things for the adult bags. So far I have purchase some fun Disney pins. I found them at the Disney Store yesterday when their pins where 50% off. I bought all of the guests a “Disney Family vacation” pin. I thought it fit perfectly for the occasion! :grouphug:

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding008-1.jpg

I also created a sticker that will be attached to the necessities bag that will contain band-aids, sunscreen, gum, Shout wipes, tic-tacs, etc… Thanks to a few of you on the boards for that idea!:)

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding014.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding015.jpg

Also, I snagged some information brochures for the parks that were available at my local Disney Store. It is filled with park maps, helpful hints, and other information about the parks that I thought my guest could use. Thank you Sandy for the idea! ;)

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding006-1.jpg

These will be inserted into the folders that I still need to find. I will also put my welcome newsletter in the folder with postcards, stamps, My DF’s and my “Top-Ten Things That Can’t Be Missed In the Parks” list, and other info. Wow! I still have so much to do!!! I am stumped on the welcome newsletter! If any of you have a finished welcome newsletter that you don’t mind posting, I would love to get some ideas from it! I think I am getting writers-block when it come to that stinker.

Lastly, here is the finalized wedding program that I made. I am only putting a picture of the front and back page of the program, because those are the only pages that have changes since I posted last about it. The “Thank You” page has a faint picture backdrop of my DF and me sitting on a dock with our backs to the camera. I hope you can see it in the picture. It looks really nice in reality!:bitelip:

Welcome Newsletter
Fantasmic! Welcome Event Invitation
Our Walt Disney World Tips Brochure
Our Wedding Crossword Puzzle
Our Reception Lunch Menu (for adults)
Our Reception Lunch Menu (for kids)
Handy Trip Cards
Contact Sticker (w/our #s)
Welcome Bookmark
Seal Sticker for front of Folder

Yes... it is very exciting! This past year of planning has just flown by, but these last few weeks are dragging! I think it is because I have more down-time now that school is out. During the past year I have been so busy with teaching and planning that the time flew. Now that my summer vacation has began, I find myself constantly checking the calendar. This is the longest time frame that we have gone without WDW. I am also getting so excited because it will be the first trip to Disney for the majority of my guests. I just think it is going to be so magical being there with our families for the first time. I can't wait to see my little sister's face when she sees the castle for the first time, or get my dad's reaction after he experiences Mickey's Philharmagic, or my mom's tears when I walk down the isle... Thank you so much! I spent a lot of time and stress on those folders. I am so glad they are finished!

The "Trip Cards" consist of a card representing each Disney park. Each park card has a check list of all of the attractions that my guests wil find at that park. So, I am encouraging them to highlight their "must" attractions and then they can carry those cards in their pocket or wallet and it will help guide them to the attractions that they definitely don't want to miss. And it will also help save time by skipping the attractions that they know they won't be interested in. I'm hoping the cards will also spark conversation within the small families, so they know which attractions each family member will not want to miss. It was just an extra goodie I wanted to include for my guests. :bitelip:

Okay, so I have finished my welcome bags, welcome folders, etc… This weekend I also finished all of my personal gifts for my close family and friends. :woohoo: I also got a hair this weekend and made some fun Disney wedding shirts for DF and myself. Oh, and I created a fun Disney bride duffle bag too. I am so excited for the days to click away and for it to be Disney time. My DF and I leave Friday morning early. We are driving from southwest Missouri, we will probably drive for about 10-11 hours and stop somewhere in Georgia on Friday night. Saturday we will wake up early and drive all the way to Disney. I am planning to make it there by noon and hit the Magic Kingdom first thing. I don’t feel like I am at Disney until I see Cinderella’s castle. My DF thinks I am crazy.:rotfl:

I cannot believe it is almost here already. It is so surreal. All I have left to do this week is major laundry and packing, packing, packing. I need to sit down and make a detailed list of everything we have to pack. We will be gone for about 2 weeks, so I am going to have to pack a lot more than I am use to. I am afraid I am going to have to do laundry at least once during our trip… or have laundry service done for us by Disney. I just can’t imagine lugging all of our dirty clothes around with us on our cruise and back to Disney again without washing them at least once. Has anyone ever taken advantage of the laundry service available at the resorts or the Disney Cruise Line? Well here are a few of my creations from the weekend. I am posting a few of the gift boxes that I will be giving my sister and my friends, but I am not picturing the gifts yet because a few of them read this thread and I don’t want to spoil it for them. I also made some charms that contain pictures of my grandparents and one picture of DF and me. I think I am going to attach them to my bouquet or my garter. I haven’t decided. I really want them on my bouquet, but I don’t know how well they will attach to the Tussy Mussy bouquet since the holder is a solid material. We will just have to play it by ear.:cutie:

So, I am encouraging them to highlight their "must" attractions and then they can carry those cards in their pocket or wallet and it will help guide them to the attractions that they definitely don't want to miss. And it will also help save time by skipping the attractions that they know they won't be interested in. I'm hoping the cards will also spark conversation within the small families, so they know which attractions each family member will not want to miss. It was just an extra goodie I wanted to include for my guests. :bitelip:

Borrow away! That is why I post. :cutie:

Do you think I could "borrow" your trip card ideas? I made this big 56 page booklet, but I'd like something people can carry? Do you think you could send me yours and I could use it as a template? I promise not to plagiarize!!

I plan on making them too(but then again we always make sure before a disney trip) anyway best of luck and enjoy your day! The drive itself may be long but but look at it as the beginning of your long and happy marriage..... we drove for many years and have some great memories and stories from those trips! best wishes !

Jessica - i'm only on page 1 of your report, but I had to say this before i forgot or run out of time (apologies if anyone has said this in the other pages too) ..........

But the minute i saw your dress I thought of Belle in Beauty and the Beast - was that on purpose or totally coincidental?

Imagine it yellow and a sash of netting along the neck line and it wouldnt be far off!!

Thank you so much! Of course you can use the trip card idea. I will send you the template. It will be a MSWord document, so I hope you can open it. I took the idea from a book that I bought last year, so you can use it exactly as it is. The book it called: Plan Your Walt Disney World Vacation... In No Time by Doug Ingersoll. I just scanned the cards from the book and put them in a Word document and personalized them a little. Enjoy!

Yes, I was reluctant to create the shirts for my DF, but he really likes the polos. We are going to wear those after our wedding when we go to the Magic Kingdom in the evening. The blue groom shirts he wasn't to excited about, but he may wear it as a travel shirt. We like to dress comfy on long road trips. Have a great time. Maybe I will catch a glimpse of you some time during the week.:bitelip:

Thank you so much! I hope the little charms work out. I just wanted to incorporate my grandparents in the wedding since my grandmothers are no longer here and my grandfathers cannot make the long trip. They will all be close to me during the wedding with the charms. :goodvibes

Yes, when I saw that dress for the first time I thought the back reminded me of Belle's dress too! I also love the sleeve straps which remind me of Cinderella's. It is a very princessy dress!:cutie:

I Love the Tshirts!!! You are so close now! It must be getting hard to wait! I wish you FUN, FUN, FUN on your trip! :goodvibes

I am very excited about wearing the shirts. My favorite ones are the polos. I actually ordered those from disneyshopping.com. They turned our great! I also like the little white shirt with our wedding date on it. I used my printed and iron-on print paper for that one and the other shirts. I thought they turned out really cute.

So I am counting down the hours now! We have 39 hours until we leave for the big road trip to Disney. :woohoo: I started packing today and was very overwhelmed at the beginning, but it didn’t turn out that bad. I had to pack both DF and myself. I think we might have over packed with clothes, but there is not as much wedding stuff as I thought. I filled two plastic totes of wedding stuff, plus my dress, and my big bag with my slip in it is all the wedding things. Now, I say that doesn’t seem that much now… that might be a different story on Friday morning when we attempt to cram everything in my two-door Grand Am. My trunk is pretty big and we always fit all of the suitcases back there. DF and I have two full suitcases each, plus a carry-on type bag each. Then we will try to put the two wedding totes, two coolers, my dress, slip, and information canvas bag in the back-seat of my car. That may be the obstacle. We will see in 39 hours. :bitelip: I wanted to post a few pictures of my packing process. Since I was so overwhelmed at the beginning, I forgot to take a picture of all the clothes mess before I packed them, but I took a picture of the packed suitcases.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding003-3.jpg

Here are some of the wedding things before I figure out how to pack it all.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding001-3.jpg

Yay! I finished the major part of the packing!
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb303/Jesyca246/wedding023.jpg

Now all I have to do is pack my make-up travel kit and my carry-on type bag with my needful things; like my hair dryer, curling iron, Chi iron, deodorent, etc...

Then it's Mickey... Here we come!

Somehow I just found your journal; I think it's because you started right around the time we were finalizing things for our wedding trip, so things were really hectic. I love what I've read so far; your collection of snowglobes at the beginning is great; we used them at our reception. I used the charms on my bouquet too; I haven't figured out if you decided where you're going to stick them. We had the tussy mussy ones for the bridesmaids and they were still a pretty decent size. Have a great trip and I look forward to reading your report when you get back! :)

your going to love your wedding! Yay! I a super excited! :rotfl: I can't wait to get on the road this morning. I am letting my DF sleep in a little, because he said the later I let him sleep this morning... the farther he will drive into the evening. So, that means we will get even closer to Disney and have less of a distance to drive tomorrow morning and we will make it to Disney sooner. HURRAY! I can't believe it is actually here. I don't think the wedding part is going to hit me until Tuesday morning. I know I have said this before Lynn, but thank you for a ton! Your helpful hints and detailed TR contributed to my wedding plans tremendously. I would not feel as secure in my plans if it wasn't for you! THANKS, and I will post when I get back! :bride:

I am so glad you found me! I have been reading yours too. I actually loved your idea of the charms. I was originally going to set black and white framed pictures of my grandparents at the ceremony site, but then I saw your amazing idea and wanted to do that instead. I love Oriental Trading, and already had those charms from a school project I did with my class this year, so I just dipped into that stash. It worked out great. Now, I notted each charm onto a pretty ribbon and I'm hoping to tread it through the base of the flower stems on my bouquet. I am just guessing and hoping it will work at this point. But thank you for some of the amazing ideas. You also helped me a ton with my welcome newsletter. Thank you, Thank you! I will post when I return! :cutie:

I just showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and she recreating it perfectly... and fast too! My friends were amazed by how fast she worked and how perfect everything turned out! Your hair looked amazing too!

I can't wait to read your TR. I am going to be working on mine and taking breaks to peak in on yours. I can't wait!

Yeah! :cheer2: I just discovered that my Magic Kingdom Photo Session pics are up on the website. What is weird is that I haven't received anything from Disney to tell me. I just guessed the username and password from other bride's and finally got in after a few tries. Check them out:

This will probably be the last post I have on this planning board. Thanks to all of you that followed me through my planning! Please join me on my journey through my NEW TR board. Follow my link within my signature! Enjoy!:cheer2:
