4 adults, all first timers at Tutto Italia.
Two are not adventurous eaters. I am somewhat. They like very basic food and were a little leery about trying something new. Their first question to each other is what will we eat?

We were on the DDP and made an early dinner ADR sometime ago. We probably arrived a little early even, and were seated within 5 minutes.
The restaurant was never full, but steadily increasing in others being seated the longer we were there.

Our server was attentive and prompt. And what rare gaps there were with him were quickly filled in by a gal clearing dishes, etc.

We figured not needing an appy, and were quite right. :cutie:

We started our meal with ice teas and diet cokes. Quite a variety of fresh sliced breads and breadsticks were soon brought to our table, along with some delicious olive oil for dipping. Not knowing anything about olive oil it was still easy to tell it was a quality oil.

A few minutes later a nice variety of raw veggies and some dipping sauces were set in front of us too. :cool1: I don't know what the sauces were, but they were yummy. The veggies were very tasty and included at least a half dozen varieties, including green beans and asparagus spears. All very tasty, even without dipping.

Us two ladies ordered lasagna. (Lasagna al Forno with meat ragu, bechamel and parmesan.) The meat was very good. It was like a true piece of seasoned roast FINELY ground. Very flavorful. And the cheese VERY creamy. Pasta cooked PERFECT for me. (DH thought it slightly overcooked. He had a little bite as I could not even finish it all, as much as I wanted.)
DH ordered Tortelloni (alla Panna Tartufata - veal ravioli with white truffle cream and a barolo wine reduction). He rolled his eyes in ecstasy after the first bite. :lmao:
The other DH ordered Braised Pork Shank (with creamy polenta and root vegetables).

Every good thing you ever read about Tutto, consider TRUE! :woohoo:
We raved during the meal, after, and I even heard positive comments through this morning.

For dessert the other couple each had Mocha Tiramisu (mascarpone cheese, espresso coffee, savoiardi biscuits and chocolate). And this was the FIRST time they ever had tiramisu. So I am afraid they will be deeply disappointed when they try it from another restaurant. ;)
I came so close to trying the cannoli. But instead went for a dish that came with three small puff pastries filled with gelato. Our server was QUICK to be the one to pour a stream of warm chocolate syrup over the puffs. (Certainly not your typical Nestles chocolate syrup. :rotfl: )
DH ordered Copetta Sotto Bosco - berries, zabaglione cream gelato and chocolate sauce.

We all really enjoyed the desserts as much as the meal. Although I would probably order a different dessert. Not that I did not like what I had. I think others would be better. The others all raved about theirs.

I certainly think none of us would hesitate to return to Tutto's even without being on the dining plan.

Big thumbs up all the way around. :woohoo:

I am glad I checked out this board. I have an ADR here in 2 months and with some of the reviews on deb's site I have been worried. The desserts alone sound worth it!
Is the coffee taste evident in the tiramisu? I like tiramisu but don't like coffee.

They ordered the tiramisu because they are coffee drinkers. ;)
If I were you I would not order tiramisu if you don't like coffee. They did mention it had a coffee and chocolate flavor. But that was what they wanted.

Watching Iron Chef America we often see and hear about truffle and truffle oil. But this was the first time DH tried any.

I second that. And the berries with Zabaglione gelato was fabulous.

Thanks for the review.

I adored this restaurant. We were there during the soft opening...so yummy ! My mom was irritated w/ me for insisting on trying this...she loved Mama Melrose...I liked Mama Melrose too, but this is totally different. I had a great eggplant app, a baked fish in sauce, and the same dessert the OP's DH had...so good. We will be going again during bounceback if they are still open...aren't they supposed to be changing to something else fairly soon ?

I am very new to almost anything DisneyWorld and have been doing my research with dis (thank you to everyone for posting such great info!).
I was hoping to try Tutto Italia on our trip but I did not find it listed in the 2008 ddp brochure... I am exited to hear you were able to visit with the ddp! Is it there on the plan but I can't see it? Are there some locations available that are not on the list?
Thanks in advance!

I was thrilled to read such a positive review (thanks, OP); DH and I are scheduled to eat there on Valentine's Day  .

Yep, they will be closing "sometime"(?) and completely remodel and reopen again (!) late 2008 - here's what allears says:

"Tutto Italia is only a temporary restaurant. From what I have been told, a yet un-named quick service restaurant will be built across the courtyard in Italy. When that is completed, Tutto Italia will close for an extensive rehab and reopen with an entire new name, look and menu. Work is expected to be completed sometime in late 2008."

That's sure a bunch of remodels for that restaurant - seems strange to have one remodel to just make a "temporary" one while waiting to remodel again for the permanent one. :confused3

Oh yes! That veal ravioli was a very memorable dish! One of the best Italian meals I've had anywhere, and that includes in Rome! Both DH and I wanted to lick our plates. *mouth watering now*

That's exactly what I thought. Seems to me that if this one is so well thought of, they ought to just leave it!

was the family plan on the menu? Are you able to order that with the dining plan?

was the family plan on the menu?
I don't recall seeing it. But I was not looking for it either.
I think I have read on the Dis previously that guests can order that, at a table credit per person.
Best to ask your server when you get there.

Ok OP...this is too funny!

I just read & replied on your other thread (the one about your first time to Tony's). For our upcoming summer trip, I have also made an ADR for Tutto. This will be our first time. I'm glad this one got a great review! Thanks!

The other couple we ate with last night were the ones we were with at Tutto. They mentioned a few times how Tutto has spoiled them. :lmao:
They said they went from Tutto's to Tony's. Not fair! :rotfl: They said it should have been the other way around so Tony's would not have been as disappointing. ;)

We just ate there Tuesday night and like the OP we found it wonderful!! The family style is not available on DDP. I highly recommend the cannoli for desert. My sister had the tiramsu (sp) and our friend had the chocolate cake and neither was as good as my cannoli. The service was excellent. Once you eat there, you will be spoiled.

Thanks for the great review ! We have loved every meal that we've had there, think the change in restaurants was a positive one . . . . .

The portions are very large (at least to me!), so if my husband and I don't share a starter and main we have lots of leftovers to take away. I find it difficult to stop eating the bread and veggies before my dinner - they're delicious !

Thanks for the great review! :thumbsup2 We are also going during "bounceback" September and I would love to eat here. I think I'll make an ADR in March and hope that it will be open...:rolleyes1

I would love to be able to try it! Anyway, great review. :cutie: thanks for taking the time.:goodvibes

Really eager to dine there, but wondering if the Penne Caprese is more like a Baked Ziti? How about the Spagetti with Meatballs? Anyone know if they would prepare this on the DDP for teens? Menu seems great for adults, but a little more adventurous for some teens who like "basic" food...

Thx.

We ate at Tutto on 2/14. The family dinner wasn't even on the menu that night (I noticed a few changes between the menu online and the one we chose from). DH had lasagna and I had the tagliatelle (sp?), egg noodles w/meat bolognese sauce. Delicious! For dessert, I had the profiterolles and they were great.

I asked our server, Alessandro, about the supposed upcoming change in the restaurant; he seemed to think that it might be a change in name, but emphatically didn't think there would be much else. Don't know how accurate this is, but I thought I'd pass it on.

It's so good to hear all the great reviews. I was a little worried when I called last night to change some ADR's for our trip in May and was able to pick whatever time I wanted. Sounds like a lot of people are missing out on a good thing! Can't wait to try it! :goodvibes

Thanks for the review. We had been there before it changed hands and we enjoyed it! I was going to make a ressie for our April trip but was hesitant to do so not knowing what the food was like. But after reading your review I will make a ressie for sure! Thanks! :goodvibes
