There are otters in the lake that can often be seen from the marina at Ft Wilderness

Otters? Otters? We ain't seen no stinking otters. They are only figments of the imagination of a few so called "otter spotters". Everyone knows the peacocks ran the otters off years ago, then had to go into hiding themselves because of it.

Everyone knows the real truth. The peacocks were run off by the otters!
Those who loved the peacocks are still having a hard time accepting the truth. It is very sad.

If they'd managed to keep the guns away from the otters everything would have been fine! But.....

We have never seen them around there but we did see a pair of otters playing in a pond connected to the river to DTD over at SSR.

We have never seen them around there but we did see a pair of otters playing in a pond connected to the river to DTD over at SSR.

Those otters were on loan to the U.S. from the Vancouver Zoo to teach BigDaddyRog the proper hand holding tecnique to woo your lady-love.

The "official otters" reside on Bay Lake and can be seen swimming near Discovery Island (soon to be Tortuga Island Club - for Fort Wild Klub members only). Occasionally, you will spot them near the Marina at FtW or by the WL.

The peacocks willfully abandoned FtW because they heard their habitat was soon to be destroyed by an army of undiscerning humans clearing out any foliage that was deemed to be "non-native". Well...after 36 years of being at FtW, doesn't the foliage have the right to be considered legal citizens of FtW?? Talk about unfair treatment and rights being violated???? Harrrrrumph!!!

http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa10/ftwildernessguy/Nutria.jpg

Personally, I have never seen an otter at FW and I firmly believe that Deb, the original otter spotter, was under the influence of Kungaloosh at the time of the sighting.

There is a herd of wild animals at the fort which, while never actually seen together, have been spotted individually or in small groups of two or more. These include but are not limited to BigDisneyDaddy, BigDaddyRog, Gatordad, Stacktester, ntsammy5, des1954 and the official mixologist for the group, FWGuy (who is that guy, anyway?) If spotted, approach with EXTREME caution.

When Bigdisneydaddy shows up at the fort, you have, just have, to request the carter loop. He is a man of few words and many beers! I just hang out with him because he has 3 boys that come with him. Like you, I am the parent of 4 girls and the estrogen is too much for even me to take! I love to steal the boys and corrupt their minds. :goodvibes

Stacktester has been trying to break into our little "clique" but never seems to make it. Anyone is welcome, but you have to find Scott first. He likes to point out that he "hides in plain sight". Yet, I have found him many a time.
