My Fear of Iron On Patches...

I have an Iron On Patch of Mickey Mouse that I want to iron onto my Overland Donner bag. It's a canvas-type bag. I've had it for months but I'm afraid it won't completely stick and will come off on my next trip to WDW. My other fear is that it might slide a little while I'm ironing it then that sticky glue will be showing.

So my 2 questions are:

1.If it doesn't completely stick, is there a way to fix that?(other than sewing, I wouldn't be able to get a need through that section of the bag, it's very thick).
2.If it smears and I get glue where it really shouldn't be, Is there a way to get it off?

Let me first say that I've never mastered the art of iron-on patches. I always manage to get exactly half of it right, and the other half of the patch hangs off and refuses to stick. I haven't had any iron-on patch where the iron-on glue slips, though. My main problem is overheating the patch so that the glue no longer works.

There is a type of glue called Okay To Wash, a fabric glue made by Aleene's, which is the company that makes Tacky Glue. You can find it just about anywhere you can get Tacky Glue. There are also other fabric glues but I don't know their names. I've used Okay to Wash several times on regular fabric with no trouble, though not on patches. Maybe that would work for you?

I don't know about patches, but I use fabric glue to attach rhinestones to costumes and it holds great, it's called E6000.
