yippee! I was having withdrawal!! :cool1: So, did we pass the test???!!! I hate pop quizes...:rotfl2: The boards were running faster without us...
No lacrosse, yet again, this weekend due to rain and wet fields... So, just a slightly less busy schedule. Just Mike's basketball game and science projects due on Monday for both kids... I've managed to ignore an extra large bag of plain m&m's in the kitchen for an entire week - ... Mike's project is involving statistics and predictability of colors...Or, something math related like that - Maggie's involves hand position on the lacrosse stick and if the position will affect distance and accuracy of a throw... Science projects are Dad's territory...;)
I'm a bit bummed - "It's A Small World" will be closed at DL during our June visit. I missed it in WDW during my last ('04) visit, it was also closed. I'm beginning to think I'm to blame...
Now, if Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is closed, too - I'm gonna throw a dead cockroach tantrum...:rotfl2: (My last trip to DL was in '92, I think it's about time I go again...)
I'm trying to schedule our flights to LA and the Cubs "just happen" to be in LA during the exact time I want to arrive ...:woohoo: hmm, do you think John and Mike will notice if Maggie and I disappear one afternoon? :lmao: I wonder if the Cubs are also playing in San Francisco or San Diego (or both...) - That would determine which direction of the state we explore - pathetic, I know...
Stacey, Once again it's time for my annual not-so-subtle "Let's go visit Stacey's family over spring break and oh, yeah - the Cubs just happen to be in Spring Training..." talk with John... We'll see if I finally have some success...

:yay: :yay: YAY! We're not so "lost" any more!!
Monica...I hope your plan works! We're gone the weekend of March 14th, to Disneyland...but otherwise we'll be here.
I was looking this morning to see what all will be closed, and so far, only Small World. The inside of the ride is the same as WDW....it's the outside that is so much better. Hopefully, they won't have it all covered up.
I didn't realize it would be closed until June, though. All they're doing is making the "boats" bigger. But then, I imagine that involves making the track wider, too. And may as well spruce up those Kiddies while they're at it.
I remember Jordan being horrified one year when she saw one of the children with a "broken arm".....it was just dangling there.....:sad2:

Science Projects are Dad's territory here as well. Jim does a great job with kids on them. He usually can help them select a project related to area they are already interested in (like it sounds like your family does as well). Matt's usually involve Scuba Diving and Lisa did her's this year on the physics of a tuck vs a layout position on the bars (gymnastic related). Yea for Dad's handling Science Projects with the kids!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I heard from Jim last night. They are having a GREAT time! We saw Jim and Kevin coming back from the Orlando Airport as Lisa and I were heading to the gym on Friday night. We waved to each other at the I-4 / State Road 44 Inter-change. I am sure they will post all the details of their weekend once they return. The group included Jim, Matt, Kevin, Irene, Sam and a Dive Instructor - Red.

Hi guys, so this is what happens when I take a weekend off - you all go and hide...and then the little Hedgehog finds you fist....golly gee.
We had a great time and some of us are now certified Cavern Divers....I will suggest however, that if you want someone to run a line, it might be wise to select one of the crew other than me. Kevin, aplogies for the mess that line was in when I handed it back.
So here is the recap....
Get to airport on Friday to find Kevin - hum, which airline was it?
Meet Kevin, find bags, ok so we are supposed to listen to the announcements when the baggage carasol is changed?
Go outside and Jim is right on time.
Head to the house to get Matt - wave to Lisa and Sharron.
Arrive at Ginnie Springs, try to find Sam (there were rumors that he had not checked in). Meet Red (the man, the DI)
Relax around the fire and have dinner......
Saturday/Sunday
DIVE * DIVE * DIVE (more about that later)
complete paperwork for cavern divers....:woohoo:
Wave goodby and come home.......
And try to locate the thread.
Good Morning All....
LAter...

Keeping away from them is easy when you think of the hands which are reaching in pulling out random numbers of m&m's, recording colors, and putting them back time after time after time after time...

I can see her getting a lot of 1 lb. bags of candy! I don't think I'd want all that candy ... well, I'd want them but know that I shouldn't be eating them!

Mine too!!! His birthday is in a month and I think he has "found" what he would like for a present while he was diving this past weekend. Actually I am glad he knows what he wants, it makes it a lot easier to get him the gift that he wants. Last year was a racing bike, and this year scuba equipment. :lovestruc

A great time was had by all! Weather wasn't as "Florida like" as I would have preferred, but definitely better than we've had around here lately.
Running a line while maintaining buoyancy is tricky to say the least. (just ask Irene). BTW Irene, I think you did GREAT!!

GaRRy - keep warm and make sure the babies are bundled up as well....It's nice and warm here in Florida......One of our favourite diving places, t:woohoo: he BH Bridge was featured in this month's diving mag - no picture of my batfish - pooh.
Pooh - speaking of you - well, get up and get Stacey to get you a Screen name...
:dance3:
Mary - thanks for the GREEN posting - no, I did not know that the first Dismeet had green M&M's - how cute. This might be fun to explore further but I bet you need to order a million or so to get them printed??? Oh yes, and keep warm as well....Did I say it is toasty here in South Florida? (Aren't I mean???) :flower3:
New Guy - thanks for showing up...Thanks Kevin, the dive was awesome. And for the rest of you, no pictures this time. All of us left the camera's topside and for good reason. It is darn difficult to complete the skills underwater, sometimes in dark areas, with two hands, one on reel, one on light, one on BC Control, one on rock - without the camera. Wait, that is too many hands needed.....hence my conclusion that this is a very difficult skill. But just when you feel like a clutz, there is an encouraging pat on the wetsuit - or an "OK" sign.....:hippie: pity you cannot smile with a mask on and a reg in your mouth.
Jim - I know what your present is!!!!!! And you know Sam will want to be next. he was already there when he saw Kevin's gear....now you...well.....
Sharon - howdy - do you have any pics of Lisa from the Atlanta meet? I heard the recap from Jim and she is doing Great....pass along all our :cheer2:
Stacey - Congrats on your 16,000 post......:goodvibes
Ang - So why candy? I mean, why not - oh applies? Potatoe chips - dip? The teachers could stock up for their own Superbowl party???? Or flowers? This is not a tradition we share in our schools here....hum???
And for the rest - have you found us yet? Mary - does your site still have our historical information? Maybe we (liberal use of that word here) include some of the basic information on the first page of this thread? Just a thought.
AND GUESS WHAT - GUESS WHAT - GUESS WHAT ---- Our PC docs have arrived...:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: The pre-package with all the shore excursion information....yeah!!!!! So I just had to share....I am getting excited.....I need to sort out the remainder of the shore exercusions. The thread is easy to find, you just have to figure out that the old one is really gone. I think not all of our recent regulars have checked in. I did recently e-mail Pam, and I told her about the new thread.
Sorry about the new equipment needs for scuba. I didn't know Kevin had the latest and greatest for scuba, thought the recent acquisitions were all photography related!
Looks like the scuba store Grand Cayman trip is a go. Still deciding if I want to go. Looks like it will be our family vacation for the summer because it's pricey. But Grand Cayman is far from my favorite island and my family will be under the water a lot of the time! Guess I need to find out if any other snorkerlers are going.

Good Morning All - We resorted to a DVD of British Comedy last night - between violence (murder), vilence (nature shows and Nova), violence (moment of truth) - it was a no go for conventional TV. :scared1: Ang, Mary, Stacey, Kiki - I'm with you all - turn it off...If we do not watch, it will not air....
Some extra pixie dust and prayers for my Mother please - all should be ok soon, but she needed emergency eye surgery on Tuesday and then yesterday after I posted, I call and she could not see - (OK, even I know this is not good right Dr. Mike or Dr. Virgel?) No worries, no permanent damage, just unanticipated (and very scarey). Vision is recovering.
Kiki - welcome back.......and ya had to come back to a potsticker already..... Give our best to Ray (poor guy) having to go to the Superbowl (poor guy) and watch the game - real time and in person (poor guy). Where is the violin smilie.....But wait, he does need to work and prob. will see less than we do on :happytv: Hey, I'm only watching for the commercials....Can we vote on our favourites Monday????
Diana - well, you are right on all counts. Kevin's photo gear produces "guy" envy - as does his scuba rig....but I guess that honour will be passing to Sir Scuba soon, right Jim.:thumbsup2 When is the B-Day?
Monica - Scoopie will no longer be an unaccompanied minor - Didn't I tell you, on this Cruise Hedgie comes of "age" - she will be 21 - and not in Hedgehog years, in person years....Honest....So she can be a "trustworthy adult" I am still trying to figure out how to list her B-Day as a celebration event on the form......hum.......

Well if we could just have a cruise we all agree on we could do that again. I agree those were good days! Some groups just don't have that same chemistry.
On our April thread I can have 2 of the weekly countdowns on the same page. With the 10 day group and the blabbermouths I'd have to go back in chunks of 10 pages or more.

Speaking of which, I got GREAT news from my mom the other day... she is DRIVING again!!!! Her vision is good enough in the morning (before she takes her meds, which mess her up for the rest of the day) to drive. She'll only go to the bank, the grocery store, the library, all on roads that she's been driving for over 50 years, but at least she feels like she has her freedom again. It's done wonders for her morale! (And she goes back to the specialist next week, who should reduce her dosage even further...)

Hey - it's Friday - time for a song.....Is this for 2008 SUPERBOWL or was it last year????
All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor
Get lost in the night
And dance like there's no tomorrow
Don't care about the sunrise
Somebody please just hit the lights
All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow
Today just wasn't my day
Everyone's getting me so fed up
I've gotta find a way
I know what can make me feel better
Stepping out in my best
Looking hotter than ever
Wherever the party is
That's where I'll be in a second
I'm so ready to move my body
Forget about all my problems
When I hear that song
I'ma lose control
Hey, here I go
All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor
Get lost in the night
And dance like there's no tomorrow
Don't care about the sunrise
Somebody please just hit the lights
All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow
I'm loving the atmosphere
Feels like I'm floating in heaven
The music's all in my ear
Taking over me
My heart's racing
Feeling so Hollywood
How I got everybody staring
Their eyes are the cameras
And I'm loving all the attention
Get up, 'bout to move my body
Forget about all my problems
They're playing our song
I'ma lose control
Hey, here I go
All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor
Get lost in the night
And dance like there's no tomorrow
Don't care about the sunrise
Somebody please just hit the lights
All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow
Please DJ
Don't say it's the last one
Cause I know what it means
And I don't want you to play no slow song
I'm still building the nerve to talk to that guy
Just give me another song and make it right
All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor
Get lost in the night
And dance like there's no tomorrow
Don't care about the sunrise
Somebody please just hit the lights
All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow
All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor
Get lost in the night

Kevin is asleep, I am up, waiting for the kid to get home from a date. At least she was a late bloomer, I could have had many more years of lost sleep.
Our near future vacations are in peril, actually. We had to take Alicia's old Mercedes in for work, it wouldn't start. $1300 tune-up, anyone? And then there's the other stuff that needs done. I think we took it to the wrong place.
We're still going in May, though. And we really hope to go to WDW next October. No cruises on the horizon, but I think there is a dive trip in there somewhere, and expensive one. But no wrecks, as far as I know.

Sorry we did not mention it. I could have used someone in the stand with me. That is why Sharon is going to PM Mark and Mary with the Chicago details. We are not sure if anything will work for them, but want to at least give the option.
Since we spent all day at the Ocean Center working the meet we are beat. The game is not enough to keep us awake. We will read about it in the paper.

Already got Sharon's pm and have replied. We plan on being there Saturday morning! Can't wait to see everyone again and to see Lisa perform!

The best commercial wasn't even an official Super Bowl commercial...it was the one with the Prison Break guys coming up in the middle of the field!!
I think our very own Jordin Sparks did a GREAT job with the anthem. At least she didn't sing it all whacky like most people do lately. :thumbsup2

the clydesdale in training with the dalmatian - very cute... Not much in the way of stand out commercials this year...

Hey all, just found the thread. Thanks Diana for steering me in the right direction. Things here have just been too hectic for me to get much time on the boards. I was in Houston for 2 days at the beginning of the week for business then came home and had a swim meet this weekend. Ashley did very well, she came in 1st place in 5 out of 7 events and won the high-point for her age group. She had some good drops in events where she had previously been stalled, but didn't drop in the 2 events that are her best. We have the Border Champs meet in less then 3 weeks, which is where she will need to do really well before the State Championship Meet the first weekend in March in Dallas.
This next weekend we have Solo and Ensemble for both kids and they both are doing solos and both in ensembles. Then on Friday, the 15th Dale and I are off to College Station. My brother and parents are going too, so that will be nice to see them.
Gotta run, I have a meeting to go to before heading to the office this morning.
Take care,

Hi Pam!
I e-mailed Laura with a link, she should be stopping in soon. She's been at WDW!
Well, I think I missed some good commercials. I was reading for a lot of it, and we missed the kick-off so didn't see Jordin sing. I liked the Coke balloon commercial too, and we both got a big kick out of the unibrow one. Some of them were a little weird, like the Wil Farrell one!
Kevin was quite happy with the Giants win, and the whole brother story was kind of sweet. Can you believe that I had to explain to Kevin who Gisele Bundchen is?

Commercial update - Monica - i get it - you were referring to the Carvel and Frist coke commercial - funny - but only if you know the 2 guys....
The balloons was broadcast today on the Today show - yes, slept through that one, but it was real cute. Still voting for HANK....
Diana - "Can you believe that I had to explain to Kevin who Gisele Bundchen is?" Well, since I don't know either, I will need to try Mary's link, was she the Go Daddy Girl or the VS girl? Or was she dating someone????

Forgot about looking for Ray on the sidelines on Sunday. Kiki, did you see him?
I didn't see him, but then again, I was too busy paying attention to the game itself. I was sick to my stomach watching it.
Apparently, he spent the entire game directly behind the offensive line's bench... so whenever Brady & Welker were sitting down (which was whenver the defense was on the field), they were about a foot from him. Being a 24/7 football coach, he really enjoyed watching the offensive coordinators change the game plan as things progressed. (well, regressed, actually.) Even though our team didn't win, he knew that he got to be somewhere that few people get to experience, so he was OK with it.
He should be strolling in the door sometime around midnight.... I won't be waiting up.
My team didn't win on the field, but my team DID win in the commercials... the "Hank" Clydesdale commercial won... that makes it 10 years in a row!! There are a few commercials that they didn't air... I would imagine they'll be unleashed for the 50th running of the Daytona 500 in 2 weeks.

Hey Angie, thanks. Ashley does work really hard. She is the one that pushes me to make sure she doesn't miss practice. She goes to practice 4 nights a week M-Th from 5 - 7 p.m., Early morning practice on M/F from 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 a.m., Saturday morning practice from 7 - 9 a.m. and if we aren't at a meet, she goes and swims at the university for 1 hour doing stroke drills on Friday evenings. She really got a late start in this sport. Most of the kids her age started when they were 6 and she waited until 9, so she had a lot of ground to make up.
She currently ranks in the top 10 in the state in both the breaststroke events (which for our state as big as it is, is a pretty good achievement) If she were in high school this year, she would have finished 3rd at district and advanced to regionals. SO, that is a good sign for next year.
This week is a real torture, because she has to practice her clarinet trio before school and after school at least 3 days, plus she has 2 sessions with the private music teacher and 1 additional session with her accompaniest. One good thing she has learned by being so dedicated to her swimming is good time management. She uses all the extra time she has doing homework.
I am sure that Lisa can relate, because she has probably more hours in the gym than Ashley does in the water.
Well, I sure wish I was making some kind of vacation plans, but we are just in limbo right now.
All take care,

It's official.
Last night Matt signed his 4 year Air Force contract to begin on June 10 as an air traffic controller.
He will begin with 7 weeks basic in Texas, on to 17 week tech school in Biloxi, and then off to a base to his job.
He gets to make a wish list of 8 bases he would like to work at and is guaranteed one of those bases. They won't be any where near here and probably not in the US. He is thinking about a couple of Italy, Spain, Germany, Guam, etc. I hoping for Italy or Guam.
We are already looking at some dive trips near Biloxi. Thankfully it is just a short jump to Pensacola and the Big O.
We found out last night that they want to do a big swearing in ceramony at the Daytona 500 with a General. Then a tour of the pits and in field tickets. That is also the day we run the Breast Cancer Marathon in Jacksonville so now we are trying to figure out if we can do both because of traffic and parking. He signed the contract last night and the military is already taken over.

Today is also Shrove Tuesday - celebrated in England the day before Ash Weds.
In times past, all luxury foods were prohibited during Lent, not just the no meat on Friday.
Thus, all meats were eated up on Collop Monday and all the eggs, bytter and fat were left - these were turned into Pancakes - hence the name pancake Tuesday.,
Having a British tradition, we still eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. We do not however, race to the church with our skillet trying not to drop the pancake - or otherwise remove all such foods from the house.
Fun - HUH - I wonder if we can all post traditions of the year - starting now. (Ok - so we missed a few from January 1-Feb. 5th....)

I got to drive my "baby" to school today. Hadn't done that in a while. Kevin saw "APS East Mountain schools" had a delay on the website, so we were sleeping away. Problem was, it was ONLY the East Mountain schools for APS. Oops! She ate breakfast while I drove.
Kind of hoping her car is ready soon, and that it works. They didn't seem too worried about the Not Starting problem at that expensive car repair shop.
I came very close to booking a solo WDW trip for myself this morning. Southwest has an air fare sale, first week in March is supposed to be fairly low crowds. Problem, though, no DVC rooms. Ah well, we are going in May! That AP is killing me, can you tell? And I've been talking to Laura, she's a bad influence.

Yes, Lisa does spend more time in the gym (5-9pm each night and Saturday 10-2 when not at a meet), but she does not put in the time for music that Ashley does. She practices her Flute each morning for about 40 minutes and during her Band Class each day - that's it. She has her Solo and Ensemble Festiveal (4 pieces - 1 Solo and 3 Groups) in a few weeks (last weekend in February I think). She did very well last year (3 Superiors), but we will see this year. A lot of kids do spend a lot more time practicing, at lessons, camps, etc that she does. She can only do so much.
Lisa goes to High School Orientation (hard to believe) on Thursday. Maybe we will see KiKi and Elizabeth there.

I just found out today that WDW is going to enforce "holiday dining surcharges" for the entire month of June. I have 3 ADRs impacted by that pricing. It's going to be an extra $14/meal for our family ... technically more than that since that does not include tax. While that won't break the bank, it's a very big disappointment. Maybe I should send an email to Disney. I guess that's one more way of them to try to get people to do the DDP. I probably would but we bought 10 days of non-expiring tickets last year. So DDP is not cost-effective for us this year.
Ok ... back to the chit-chat.

My baby is all grown up and leaving home. :sad1:
Congratulations to Matt... and the proud parents!!!
What a cool atmosphere for a swearing-in ceremony... the 50th running of the Great American Race!!! No idea how you'll manage to do both... remember, don't keep the General waiting!!!

I don't like the idea per se, but he will be 18 and able to make his own decisions. I am trying to be understanding, but he knows I would have preferred he attend college instead. I am learning that college may not be for everyone right out of High School, that is just a difficult concept for me. Jim has told Matt to see the world before he settles down, I guess he is taking him literally.

Yawn......another day on the road for me again.
Ang and Laura - so maybe we will book your cruise onboard...No clue if we will cruise in 2009 but if we book on board - perhaps - when are the sailing dates? Sam actually wants to go to Paris, so that may be the 2009 trip.
Diana - we love our passes - I'm struggling with this weekend - I have a meeting in Orlando on Friday - should I stay over or should I come home? This is the weekend for booking for our cruise - oh what to do - what to do?
I could dive - perhaps not - the weather looks iffy and my ear is still not back to normal.
And I hve said this befoe but I still have no clue how all your kids can pack so much in a day......
High School Sharon - how exciting for Lisa and Elizabeth as well.
Mary - good advice about warning what I think is the best pizza place in the world? Sharon - how about brining back a pie?
Good Luck Lisa....
Ashley - keep swimming strong....
Stacey - you are BAD......Monica - you too. Matt does not eat that much:lmao:

To answer Irene's question. Illinois is a Super Tuesday state as well. Obama and McCain won here. Lots of focus on the Democratic race as it is not only Obama's home state but Hillary Clinton grew up here.

No Super Tuesday in Texas - we vote March 4 - the Texas Education Agency moved our statewide testing back a few days because it conflicts with the primary. They don't want any extra distractions in the buildings to affect the students' scores...
Our whole election process is getting me more and more confused... delegates not awarded because states moved their primaries to earlier times... Some award partial, some award all to the winners :confused3 :lmao: It was bad enough when we lived in Canada during the Bush/Gore election and I had to explain to Canadians that while we voted for the President, we weren't actually electing him, we voted for delegates who then in turn elected the president... So, a president could lose in the people's vote but still win the election with enough delegates... Sometimes, I'd like to have a chance to ask our founding fathers what made them decide to set up our election system this way... :lmao:

Didn't mean to insult Matt. I'm really proud and appreciative of ALL of the young (and older) men and women who are brave enough to serve our country. Just seeing them on TV before the Super Bowl as the anthem was sung brought tears to my eyes.
But I have to say, the idea of any of OUR boys going scares the daylights out of me. I know that if that's what Jared truly does decide to do (and his Dad is all for it) then I can't stop him either, and will have to take the "supportive" approach like Sharon. :sad1:

Irene, I think you have great self control to stay away as much as you do. I guess we will see in May how bored Kevin gets, and if some of my future trips will be solo. But the photo hobby has him excited about going. And I will always be able to get Alicia to go, I think, as long as she isn't busy and I pay!
I keep saying I'm going to sell our smaller OKW contract so we don't have quite as many points (and dues) and I haven't done it yet.
Sharon and Jim, Matt will be added to the prayers and PD list. Especially in hope that he gets the base assignment he wants. Far, far from the middle East!

A few more prayers for those affected by the terrible twisters. I was on the road all day yesterday - no access to a TV and saw the pictures last night at the Irish Pub (Jim, not the one you and Sharon know). The film looked surreal - those poor folks.
Back home, need to pack, need to leave again - This time Orlando - decided not to stay for a WDW visit on Saturday - Value hotels are all booked up, and I still need to sort out our bookings for the PC Cruise. Although, by the look of the PC Thread, it will be a zoo booking on line.
So, what should I try for first - the Zip Line Tour or Palos brunch?
Mary - sorry about your ankel - please rest up....
Ang -- no promises but - May 23 - May 30 -- Torotola, St. Thomas/St. John & of course, Castaway Cay. We'll see....What is a "SPHs. ?"
Monica - I am pretty sure Sam was saying Paris - France - since it was a comment after Ratatouille (how do you spell that?) came out? And I hav always wanted tovisit France. ;)
I guess our founding fathers did not envision the internet or speed of communication when they decided on delegates - eh? All it would take is one little constitutional amendment and presto - election by popular vote.
Thanks for the update on all the voting places we have acorss the boards. We are part of the Florida - move up so delegates do not count (in the Demo) primary - bet that comes back as a debate and another Fla. debacle at the convention....hanging chads anyone?

Yes to brunch, Irene, but don't miss the zipline either. It's a blast! Kind of scary driving over there though. If the Disney excursion is on a bus, that would be nice. The little taxis with no seat belts were a bit terrifying.
Glad OM popped in. That was a huge storm in Tenn., it reached up into Ohio a bit.
NM is now infamous for messing up the caucus. All the paper ballots are proving difficult to reconcile, and the Democratic race is really close. It might be days. I doubt this will equal Florida's election woes though.

When I'm doing my online booking, I always do Palo first, excursions second. There are a lot more openings for excursions than there are for Palo.
And if I really want an important spa appointment, I'll even do that before excursions.
The only difference is if you've already heard that a LOT of DISers are going to book the same excursion you want. So far, for the Eastbound, most of the DISers are booking their Ziplines and Catamarans independently....not using DCL.

Still only once unfortunately.
Stacey ---- What do you suggest for the zip line - disney or seperate? The idea of Disney is that you don't need to take a taxi to get there???
Has anyone taken the walking and kayak adventure? We are thinking of this instead of Seahorse....\
Not that it is the last minute but input please.
And yes, brunch first....do we get one or two bookings on the PC - anyone know???
Thanks bunches and by the way - GOOD MORNING - it is a beautiful day here - no diving for us, maybe next weekend - ears will be better then.

You can have one brunch and one dinner at Palo....even on the Canal cruise. They are still limiting it to one per room.
Haven't done the walking/kayaking.....that's far too adventurous for me!
My guess on the zipline is that by now, most of the independent providers are booked. From what I hear on our Canal thread, the DISers are booking those as large groups. I would say go with Disney. And yes, by the time you pay taxi fare (it's a long haul from the ports) you'd be paying as much, if not more, than you will with DCL anyway.
And....this is IMPORTANT....I gave you the wrong info.....booking time opens at 3:00 am Florida time.....it's midnight (depending on Daylight Savings) my time. Oops.
But please.....someone tell Irene if I am wrong again!!

Booking starts at Midnight Eastern, 11 pm Central, 10 pm Mountain and 9 pm Pacific.
Just got back from a fun morning with the Scuba's. It was great getting to see Lisa perform. I'll let Sharon give the overview of the meet as she is the expert.

I am so confused. Actually, I was originally correct when I told Irene that she could book at midnight her time.

Thanks Stacey - only one bruch and one Palo's - surely they will open up a second chance while on board?????
As for booking with Disney - for this tour, it was our first choice.
So, hum - brunch first or zip line first??????
hum, hum, hum?????
We're thinking of the walk/kayak as an alternative to Seahorse.....might be fun.

Drive to store
Enter store

You're right, Irene....the online booking will only let you book one Palo dinner and one Palo brunch. But when you get onboard, you can book more if you want and if they have openings.
I'd book my Palo first....both dinner and brunch and then the zip line. I think you'll be fine.
And I am SOOOO glad Mary cleared up the time frame. Thanks Mary!!

tic -toc - countdown time. This is much better than having to get up to make the ressies at 3:00 which is how it first started. Gosh, we were snorkeling with the manatees that weekend and I was using a bootlegged connection to the net.....WOW.....

Update - it is 1:38 am.
I have the shore excursions I wanted - both the Canopy and the Hike and Kayak on CC.
I think I have Palos brunch - I confimred but did not print the page but no dinner.....and how many swimming fish are there?
The PC Thread is very upset.....I understand.
At least I can book Polo's on board...but this is not real magical trust me.

Well Stacey - It seems that Palo's has broken the system. It is now 2:00am.
I took you advice and grabbed brunch.....I have the excursions - boy am I glad I booked our scuba tours with another operator.
We have Scuba in Aruba, Acapulco and Cabo - We have Canapy Zip in Puerto and the hike/kayak at CC. I'd like to do the petroglihs but it would be back to bck with scuba and since the pages are all over the floor I do not even know what port that was.
I now have wine..... and 29 or 30 fish to keep me company.
The disthread will soon go over another 250 pages as we wait.
Gosh - can I edit and insert a smilie face for the U-TOP?????
Lots of now happy peple. real happy....Not.
I hate to give up -- but all I need is Palos dinner and I can get that on the ship...

Good morning everyone! Irene sorry to hear you had such a rough time booking.
I guess that is the advantage of going in April on a cruise that isn't that popular with the DIS. I was in and out in just about 10 minutes on my booking day.

Good Morning Mary - I am still trying to get Palo's. Sam woke me with coffee and fired up 'puter.
Normally he does not say "good-bye" when I hit the puter room....
But I see that the "confirmed" has now hit the screen.
I'd rush on to tell the crazy PC thread but we broke another posting milestone and I am not sure if that group started a new thread. The boards move fast - so no complaints...other than my puter said disboards may be a scam site and I should be careful.

We may try on board - or not.....
We were not impressed with our first time with this event....perhaps because we are spoiled at Grand Floridian????
