I am looking to rent an Epson P-5000 photo storage drive (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html%3FASIN=B000J3YFM2%26tag=squidoox8401-20%26lcode=xm2%26cID=2025%26ccmID=165953%26locatio n=/o/ASIN/B000J3YFM2%253FSubscriptionId=19BAZMZQFZJ6G2QYGCG2 ), or something similar. I am going to Europe for 3 weeks in May. I don't want to lug my computer along and I can't really afford the $500 purchase price of a storage drive right now.

Does anyone know of anyplace that rents these? Or maybe someone has one who could use some extra cash? Any other ideas?

Thanks much - Barrie

Why not just use online file storage sites? If you are in a hotel that has a business office or there is a Internet Cafe all you need is a card reader and some time. I think you could use Imageshack, or even Google files. There is a firefox plugin for google that allows you to upload a whole folder at one time.

If there is a business office in the hotel, they may be willing to burn a CD with your pictures. maybe look for locations that can do that for you?

Thanks Jeff - I just don't think that will work for me. I won't have the time to spend. I shoot in RAW. Most online places don't accept RAW files and the size of them would mean hours each day in a cafe. I expect to shoot 3-4 GB per day. Thanks for the idea though.

I just purchased 2 Digital Foci Photo Safes(received them Thursday).

Not as nice as the Epson but you can not beat the price. About the size of the original IPOD(1st gen).

I got the 80gb version for $38 and the 120gb version for $60, but Bhphoto is sold out of the 80gig now and they raised the price on the 120gig.

I already backed up all my raw files to the 120gig unit, and it will be used as an additional back up copy. The 80 gig unit will be used for vacation use like you describe.
