Hi, we are considering the Castaway Cay getaway package with snorkel gear, mat and bike rental. Wondering if the bike rental is worth the time? Are there nice paths and such? Thanks! Sue

Hi!
There is a bike path which leaves the far end of the family beach at CC. It leads over to an airplane landing strip (complete with vintage plane) and down towards the adult beach (serenity beach) and cabanas. Once there, it turns from a paved road/path to a fine gravel/sandy path (unless it's been updated since last May) right near the cabanas and adjacent showers. It cuts along parallel to serenity beach and back towards a scenic lookout area. At the scenic area there is a turn around and there was water (much needed) to drink. I hope this is helpful.

My DW and DS (7) really enjoyed the bike ride. Terrain is mostly flat, 60% paved and 40% hard packed dirt. Offers a great view, Go for it!

Is the Castaway Cay getaway package you can reserve ahead of time, like an excursion. If so what are the prices, just wondering, it sounds fun!

I believe the Getaway Package (bike, snorkel, floats) was around $30-, $6.50 (?) just for the bike rental and I believe this can be booked in advance.
As far as the time limit on the bikes go, I wouldn't worry about that. They have plenty of bikes (all sizes) there. It goes something like this: There's a couple of CM's at the bike rental booth that take your ticket(s), then they show you a bike trail map, then you just walk over to where the bikes are, pick what you want and just go! (no sign-out of bikes or start time recorded; pretty laid back process)
BTW, they don't hold you to your reservation time on your bike rental ticket, We went around 2hrs after our 'assigned time' and was never questioned.
