Resorts CODES

I have read several times about resort discount codes. Some poster's mention postcards and some stated that codes are posted. Where are the codes posted? We have been going to WDW for years and have never gotten a postcard or seen special codes posted anywhere. Please explain the codes to me. I would love a discount.

there's a separate board devoted to codes and such...scan through some of those threads and you'll get a better idea...

i, like you, never get any of the great codes (40% off) - disney gives them either based on a complex computer model which predicts who will come if offered who wouldn't otherwise...or else based on an arbitrary whim...

most of the really good codes come with a pin attached that corresponds to the recipient. therefore, someone else giving you the "code" for "40% off" won't work for you if disney's computers don't recognize your name and address as being "attached" to that code.

if you are planning a trip anyway, you can always call disney and see if they have a code attached to your name even if you didn't get a postcard...

I received the the 40% code in an email yesterday. We had to cancel our vacation last year so I was surprised to get a code. I guess they want us to spend some money with them this year. Now I just have to talk hubby into going

Thank you chalee 94, I finally saw the code board at the very top. If it was a snake it would have bit me. We have been coming to WDW for years and they have never sent us a code.

I've been 22 times, including a Magical Gathering for 18 folks. I always use Disney Travel Company. I've never even heard of a code until recently, and I've certainly never received one. Sigh. :sad1:

I received an email about 3 weeks ago, with a pin code offering 40 percent off any moderate resort. Also said may apply to other resorts. To my delight after speaking with Disaney Reservations, I found out it also applied to the Polynesian. I booked it and got a fantastic rate for a 5 night stay in October. We were lucky enough to go on 2 trips last year to WDW, so I am guessing we are on their very likely to return list. We are thrilled.

Hi, I'm new here, and yes, the code distribution is quite a mystery! I just received a very large flyer in the mail with a 30% off code for the value resorts during selected weeks from January through December 2008. The thing is, it was addressed to my previous name, before I was divorced and changed my name back- almost 8 years ago! The only thing I can think of is that they must have culled my name from a previous visit I made under that name around 1995.
Last week I signed up on the Disney site and ordered the vacation planning dvd- so I'm curious as to whether I'll receive another pin from that.
