Is this ok?
Sorry Sandy! I was paranoid the DIS would shut our thread down and leave us stranded.
SOoOoO...members (and newbies) subscribe to this just in case.
Good Luck at Weigh In tomorrow, PEEPS!

Thanks for finding a spot for us Wendy. I just don't like a part of us missing from the thread. Like missing pages in a book.
Oh well.
I have a weight, but I'm postponing posting it, due to technical difficulties. :scared1:
I'll check in when I fix the problem.:cloud9:
Good luck everyone!

Ok, I couldn't get the DIS to load at all yesterday, so what did I miss? Why would the DIS shut our thread down? I'm so confused. :confused3
Not posting yet, due to the lack of "action". ;) I'll report in later, if the results were good. :lmao:
Thanks for sending me the road map Wendy!:drive:

They are working on the boards again and this time they are trying to figure out what the long threads (10,000 posts or more) do to the functioning of the website. So they are not available at the moment.

thanks for alerting me Wendy...this looks like nice temporary digs for now ;)
i am UP .4....oh well..its not the end of the world..i did everything like a Peep would, but its the end of AF and i know i had extra sodium here and there this week..so i will own that. if all goes well it will be an extra pretty # next week..now to get that off and more before my BL weigh in Monday..hmmmm :scratchin

Just finished my 1 mile morning walk with the neighbors. It is 15 degrees, and Trixie decided it was better to stay in the bed with DH than get out with me and Shadow. I have to say I think that the 14 lb. dog was much smarter than her sister and her human. ;) :lmao: :lmao:
Still "no action" so I am postponing my report.
For those that have asked, Webmaster Alex said that they were going to take down the big threads for a 24 hr. period. JMO, but I think they are going to see if that will help make the DIS faster.
If our thread is back up tomorrow, will we move back over there Wendy?

Disappearing PEEPS Refugee Board... where have I heard that before? (Which reminds me, I haven't been to Norway in a very long time.)
I was a little surprised to get the PM from UM this morning. But I guess I understand the reasoning, sorta.
Anyway, back to the business at hand. I was able to creep below the "samer" line to lose 1 pound this week. That one pound gives me a grand total weight loss of 42.4 pounds since January 2007, and an uber-grand total of 66.4 pounds (that number always shocks me) since I first started this journey. I am now at my lowest adult weight of 173.6, putting me 3.6 pounds from my Valentines Day goal of 170 and 18.6 pounds from my ultimate goal weight of 155.
I hope everyone has some happy numbers today!

Thanks for hooking us up with this shiny. new, albeit possibly temporary new thread.
I did not weigh this morning. The baby was attached to my hip all morning and I just forgot to do it. I will hop on first thing tomorrow morning.
I hope it will be good news. I have been fairly good with the food and excellent with exercise. I have been to the gym 3 times and will be going again on Saturday to meet with the PT. Currently I am doing: 45 mins on the elliptical, 15 - 20 on the bike depending on whether or not I run, and then 2 mile run on the TM and I alternate upper and lower body strength training. THis should do something, right? Lord, I hope so...
In case you are looking for a good food/exercise journal, I just ordered one from amazon that looks really nice. It's by "Calorie King". Here is the linkif you want to check it out: http://www.amazon.com/Calorie-King-Food-Exercise-Journal/dp/1930448155/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1201271197&sr=8-1
I hope this helps hold me more accountable for all the crap I put in my face.
Have a great one Peeps and congrats to those of you who lost this week.:flower3:

Thanks UM for the PM about the new thread. When I went to my subs my peeps were gone :scared1: So if they get our "old" thread back will we go back there or stay here. I need my peeps, you guys are my support. I subscribed to this one so the heart palpiltations (spelling is probably wrong sorry) can stop. I got so nervous reading the other posts you don't know.
I am down .4 today. Not much but I'll take it. AF came the day I weighed in (Tuesday at WW) so I think that's why it was only .4 but a loss is a loss.
Have a good day everyone and I'll see you later alligator.

Morning peeps! Just stopping in to weigh-in. It's been a crazy, hectic week (which followed a crazy, hectic week on travel and will precede a crazy, hectic week on travel next week.
I am -3 lbs!!!! this week which means I got my bling back!!! I didn't get a chance to post last Friday, but I was a samer due to too much take-out while on travel. Next week I'll be driving, not flying to my destination and will have an efficiency, so I'm planning to do a bit of simple cooking to try to continue the downward trend!
Congrats to all the samers and losers!

Morning peeps. You couldn't lose me!!!!
I'm a SAMER this week. I think this is the most excited weigh in ever. After being up 5 from last week's trip to WDW, I never expected to get down to the beginning again. I know, Melinda, you said I would but I didn't believe it. Now I feel like I'm back on track and don't have to feel guilty about how bad I was on the home planet.

hey, peeps! i'm glad i see lots of us have found our way over here. i hope everyone eventually does IF they take our old thread away forever.
i'm -1 pound today. i'm definitely happy with that since i thought i'd either be a samer or a gainer because of my non-peep-like weekend.
aaron - does that make me 2 pounds away from my valentine's goal? i hope so because that's what my math shows!

It's so crazy, it just might work! ;)
I'm never motivated after having a baby to do anything. Especially anything that requires me to eat less or move more. I relied on the breastfeeding diet...but convinced myself I needed a bazillion extra calories so THAT backfired  ....I still have the baby fat from my ADULT child.

Back from the gym. **, that was hard. I did a basic class since I haven't been to a gym or done any classes in more than 2 yrs and it kicked my rearend. It feels great though. I'm going to try to go to classes a few times a week plus my walking. I know that as I build muscle, which weighs more than fat; my weight loss will slow down but I'm ok with being toned and still hanging on to a lb or so.
The sales person at teh gym tried selling us personal training sessions. It was something like $720 for 12 weekly couples sessions. He guaranteed weight loss and increased energy, yada, yada, yada. I was sort of interested but :scared: that's a $$ commitment that I can't make right now. (I'm headed to the home planet in a few months and hoping I can convince DH that we can go again if there's free dining..........)
I've got to get in the shower.
GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!!! We've all made so much progress! I can see another toddler being 'lost' this week!

welcome! i'm sure you know this but weigh-ins are on fridays. so weigh yourself today so you can compare it next week and see how much you've lost (hopefully!). i joined this thread at the beginning of march last year. we went to WDW at the beginning of may and i'm thinking i had lost close to 20 pounds by that time. so your 15-pound goal before you go to WDW in april is totally doable!

Wow! I need tips from the Peeps who are losing the big 3 lbs at a time! I have been losing a pound or less a week and I need to be at least 15-20 lbs less by the time I go to Scotland. I added another night at gym but I am hating it! Tips, ideas,suggestions?:cool1:
I am posting a -3
I'm down -1which since the RE-START is a total of 7 pounds.
I love the name of this thread....makes it sound like we were run out of town. Like we're naughty :cool2: pirate: popcorn::
WIDF- I haven't been to Norway recently either. That was a flop. Not enough people all around. I felt like it was a blog. Oh well, c'est la vie.
I loved this like we were naughty.:rotfl:

I KNOW!!! Crazy thoughts. The only things I am motivated to do right now is a) go on a posting frenzy b) eat an entire cake mix c) watch some TV.
However none of those activities fit the whole "quit eatin' so much" diet plan. So I am going to a) go on a cleaning frenzy b) eat a healthy snack and c) check back here
Pigget: what darling children!!
Later oldies and newbies!!!
If THAT doesn't work, try the "Put Your Fork Down Diet" or there's always the "Does My A$$ Look Fat in these Jeans" diet.
The Quit Eatin' So Much diet reminds me of the Sat. Nite Live skit about not spending money you dont have. I'll try to find it on YouTube for those who are lost at the moment

okay......i have to vent to you all since you're the only ones that will understand. remember my neighbor who recently found a cancerous tumor on his tongue? well, ray works with a good friend of theirs and today she told him that his wife's work sent them and their kids to disney world when he found out he had cancer. now they know what a disney freak i am and amber (the wife) and i even talked about me helping them plan a trip when their youngest (DD2) is about 4 years old. so i'm kind of OFFENDED that they didn't come to me with this WONDERFUL news of this disney trip and ask me to help them plan it!!!! is that wrong? i just live for planning disney trips (i know......sad!) and they know this and didn't mention it to me. i feel bad for getting ticked about it because, one, i know it's silly and, two, they've been through a lot. but i could've made their trip SO MUCH BETTER!!!! i'm just expecting them to say, "yeah....we went to disney world and it was awful because we couldn't get in anywhere to eat and every park we went to was crowded." then i'll want to say, "i wish you'd have told me because i could've helped you with ALL OF THAT!!!!!!!!!" :sad2:

The girl that recruited me has already lost 7 lbs.! Now to my defense, I don't have as much to lose as she does. I need to lose about 15 more lbs to be where I would like to be, but she has much more than that to lose. I think if you have more to lose, it comes off faster. I hope I didn't offend anyone with that comment, because I didn't mean too. Oh, and I have a life preserver, if ya' need one. ;)

Maybe she didn't want to bother you with it. It is her loss, if she CHOSE not to consult with you. If I get to go again, I promise, I will let you plan mine. It about drove me nuts just planning mine and DD's trip. I consulted someone who I thought would help, and she never responded, and she even offered. :confused3 I realize some of my planning happened through the holidays, but I thought she would at least send me a note saying she was swamped. I don't know if I offended her with all my info, or not.

it could've been a last-minute thing, but they live across the street and they have my phone number. i mean, amber coulda called me! and it's not so much that i feel dissed.....i'm just hurt that they didn't share it with me. i LOVE disney so much and when anyone gets to go (especially if they have kids going for the first time) i'm so happy for them. i just want to share the experience of getting excited about an upcoming trip with them. and i totally understand about not wanting someone else to plan your family vacation for you, but i totally would have just given them some tips, i.e., make your ADRs, use child swap and fastpass, which parks to avoid on which days, the supercool service they provide where they take anything you buy to your hotel for you. newbies don't know these things and without them disney CAN be miserable! i want everyone to FEEL THE MAGIC, damn it!
oh, and allie, i'll TOTALLY plan your vacation for you! i was a travel agent in another life, i think.

Well, I think I am down .8 lbs. I can't remember my exact weight last week. I'm so confused, what with gaining from the Chicago trip. BUT I think I'm now .2 lbs away from where I was when I left for that trip. Hopefully, by next week, I'll be below that weight! :)
So, yesterday I went in for my annual exam, and my doctor asked me if DH and I were planning to have kids. When I explained that we were thinking about possibly moving out of the area and wanted to make that decision first, she asked where we were thinking of moving. When I told her Florida, talk soon turned to Disney. Apparently, she has a conference coming up there at the Contemporary. We ended up talking about Disney the ENTIRE time! By the time she left the room, she was planning to go down there 2 days early in order to have more time, and she asked if she could call me if she had more questions! :lmao: And as she was leaving, she said we'd have a lot to talk about next time and that she should note on my chart that I'm the "Disney freak". When I told her that was my email address, she said, "No, it isn't!" and laughed when I said, "Yes, it is." :rotfl: It was the most distracting and funniest annual exam EVER!

Checking in at last. I've been to mad at my self to post today! I am up 2 lbs. I knew I shouldn't have joined the dang Valentine's Day challenge. I always do well until I join one of these challenges and then I completely blow it. Aron, please take my name off of the challenge! I know I should really try Twinkie's brilliant idea of cutting down on how much I eat and moving more, but maybe if I take myself out of the challenge and use the Twinkie guide, I can actually get my first # to 1 before I go to WDW 7 weeks from tomorrow. I'm thinking about joining weight watchers to get a jump start, but I hate to pay $$$$ for that and I really don't like the meetings! UGH! Sandy can you send our wagon around to pick me up?

Sorry, I get "passionate". But really. When people I know DONT have my help, they come back and I ask SIMPLE questions, and they have NO idea what the sam hill I'm talking about. Like, "Did you do rope drop"...HUH???? or, "What'd you think of Insert any ride *here*?"...."We didn't go on it" Which makes me grab them by the lapel and foam at the mouth and shake them violently. :rolleyes1 "WHAT? YOU DON'T HAVE A PASSPORTER???? ARE YOU INSANE?!"

Kind of "freaked me out" when I tried to go to the peeps page, and it said I didn't have "permission to access the page!" Glad I found y'all! I didn't lose any this week - or last - or last- or the last! I'm still recovering from the holidays and year-end work schedule. Hang in there- you can do it. We are all in the same boat. I am feeling discouraged too. I did weight watchers before- attended the meetings and all. To me the meetings were corny but they were helpful and gave you that booster shot that you need every once in a while. So it might help to go for a month or two. Then once you get the hang of the program you can go alone and do the online meetings. BIG HUG!!! Dont be so down on yourself- Peeps are here for you!:lovestruc

Feel free to ask any questions on how we roll. Be sure to take your measurements and weight today so you'll know how you did next friday (our weigh day)
You ARE hot!!!! But you'll be hotter than Animal Kingdom in July soon!!!
OK, UM I have read your Trip Reports, so I know you are all sorts of crazy, but you want me to POST MY WEIGHT!??!!?!?!! EEEEEEEEEEK!
I am  144 pounds.
About me:
Dh is gone right now (he's been gone for almost a month and will be gone another 2 weeks) so I am doing everything. The house is suffering, the activities for the kids are suffering, and my workouts are suffering. Also, I do REALLY well during the day staying on my POINTS (Im doing WW online) but at night I love to curl up with a few glasses of wine. Then I start snacking. :headache: I know it's wrong, and I know I need to find a new way to relax.
Any sort of 'eating' here is impossible to know how many calories it has. I buy most of our food at the US Comissary, but you can't live in Europe and eat American crap only! It always amazes me that the people here are not fat, because they don't put their nutrition info on the packages. There is NO High Fructose Corn syrup. Not even in Coke (no Pepsi here UM). Just Sayin.
welcome! i'm sure you know this but weigh-ins are on fridays. so weigh yourself today so you can compare it next week and see how much you've lost (hopefully!). i joined this thread at the beginning of march last year. we went to WDW at the beginning of may and i'm thinking i had lost close to 20 pounds by that time. so your 15-pound goal before you go to WDW in april is totally doable!
Thanks Punkin!
Thank you for the warm welcome guys! I'm sure this will help me to hottness. :woohoo:

I think disney is like religion. I think everyone would be so happy if they did things just like I do, but others don't see it that way. :confused3 We find hustling around to get to ADRs stressful, and usually eat at CS so we can get on more rides. I'm sure some folks think that's a "Disney sin." And making it to rope drop can be stressful, too. So maybe this family just wanted to do things in a more leisurely way, in light of what else is going on in their family. I'm sure they didn't mean to snub you. And it may be that everything was prearranged for them, so they felt they had nothing to plan.
I knew I shouldn't have joined the dang Valentine's Day challenge. I always do well until I join one of these challenges and then I completely blow it. I skipped it this time, because I seem to sabotage myself when I join in. It's just my nature.

oh, i totally would've let them do all CSs if they wanted ("let" them.....sounds like i would've been disney trip planner nazi!!!). but i really don't think they know ANYTHING about disney. so no character meals for the kids, no fastpasses, no child swaps - those are things that could make their vacation a whole lot more enjoyable. and i think i'm just offended that they didn't tell me because they know how excited i'd be for them - they have a 5yo and a 2yo and i know the kids were super excited. i could've shown their kids pictures or something to get them even more excited - i just love sharing it with people! i don't know - i'll find out more today. i'm gonna go over there to see how shawn's doing. he had surgery a few days ago to cut out the tumor on his tongue. they caught the cancer really early so he doesn't need chemo. he is gonna have some radiation treatments though just to be safe. i feel bad for being offended when they've been dealing with so much......i should just count my blessings and shut up!

I just want to check in to say 'hi.' I'm having a very very bad day and I am going to try really hard to stay strong. We had to put one of our kitties to rest this morning. She darted through the living room past one of our dogs who isn't known for playing well with cats. She came out of nowhere and the dog grabbed her across the back. We were never able to figure out exactly where she was injured but they couldn't keep air from leaking and collecting under her skin. She couldn't breathe and I know she had to be in pain. So we did the only thing we could do.
I'm not usually an emotional eater but when I'm feeling better, I have been known to totally pig out. Dh wants some sort of comfort food right now, we usually have Chinese or homestyle (like Cracker Barrel.) I haven't eaten all day since this happened before breakfast.
I think I should go now, I'm going to wind up rambling if I don't.

Hi Peeps!
I'm +1 lb this week.
I don't think we'll be celebrating our 10th year anniversary at Disney World in June. My husband lost his job Thursday after the modular home company that he worked for permanetly shut down. I cried most of Thursday & part of yesterday. Why couldn't this have happened after I graduate in May 09? Anyway, I'm not concerned with weight loss efforts right now. There's other major issues in my life that I really need to focus on.
My 1st exam (in NSG 202) is Monday and so I'm going to fix a salad, have lunch, and then study for the remainder of the weekend.

someone mentioned that cracker barrel has some good choices. we go there a good bit and if i'm not in the mood for salad i either get the grilled chicken tenderloin or i get a BLT on wheat bread (hold the mayo) with a cup of soup.

I AM SOOOO SKINNY!!!! :thumbsup2 Well, not really. We went to brunch at a local buffet called Golden Corral (I don't know if it's nationwide) and I think I was skinny compared to a lot of the folks eating in there. I don't mean that to be mean, but doing some quick mental math makes me want to avoid buffets while I'm dieting....something about "all you can eat" makes ones weight go up. I felt badly. I wanted to hand out this DIS web addresses. There was no less than 3 morbidly obese older people with oxygen tanks.
I filled up on salad with healthy toppings including carrots and sunflower seeds and diet dressing. The only sugar free desserts were puddings, so I passed. I'm still pretty full but I'm learning not to STUFF myself.
Just Sayin.
Thanks Punkin!
Thank you for the warm welcome guys! I'm sure this will help me to hottness. :woohoo:
144 is not too shabby! If you took just my skeleton and vital organs, I'm sure I'm more than 144 (I'm pretty tall for a girl). It's just so MENTAL.... that part is the same for all of us, no matter what diet or where we're at in the journey.
Replacing the bedtime snack is a hard one for me too. So I compromised with myself and "save up for" one.
Aren't you also on the Twilight (book) forum?

I'm right there with you. We had b-day cake at work yesterday, and I was so proud that i took a piece the dimensions of a deck of cards. Then my students were eating double stuff oreos, and I inhaled 4 before I knew it. Oh well, every little bit of control helps, right. I went back and wrote it all down in my journal today so I maintain some kind of accountability.

Dance: 34 weeks and that's all!!!! You look great!
Heather: The baby is getting so big. I may have to post a pic too, but later. Josh is so sweet getting some cheese time!
Wendy: I finished the books! My favorite chapter of all time was when Edward and Jacob were in the tent talking back and forth while Bell was sleeping. I was just cracking up! I may have to go back and read that chapter again.
Lynda: Last year at one of my first preg/ob apt.s the assistant to the dr.s who does the initial work up was going to disney. We chatted like crazy. She got my email address and asked me so many more questions. I was so happy to help. I actually felt important.
Harley: Nice workout. I haven't stepped foot on my treadmill in about 2 weeks. Gasp! I know!
Dawn: You are too sweet. Don't let that bother you. I'm sure if they had a bad time, they are kicking themselves in the booty for not asking you for any advice.
dlwheat: You got me hooked on thrifting. Each day the place by us have a special. Today was yellow tag: 5items for 5.00. Sometimes, all reds, 1.00 per item. I got some nice new clothes with tags for 1.00 each.
Hi Melinda! Hi Allie! Where's Sandy? Hi pixie! Where's aries?
Misty are you feeling better?
Ok, I mentioned in my journal that my "grandmother" passed away. She was 94.
I never had a real grandmother to share my life with. The only one I did have passed when I was 3 months.
My cousins grandmother took me and my sister on as her grandchildren too. Grandma Rose was the best. She would chase us kids around the house with a wooden spoon yelling at us in Serbian. It was great. We learned some swear words in Serbian and it would get her so mad. She called me Monie.
My favorite memory was when I was about 7 or 8, my mom worked at her bar and when she showed up for work, I would come along and Grandma would take me home to her house. She had this huge cadillac and didn't know where the horn was. I showed her and she laughed and beeped the horn all the way home.
A few christmas's ago, Grandma gave me this beautiful diamond cocktail ring. It's gorgeous. It was one of hers. Grandma had lot's of boyfriends. I asked her if she was sure she wanted to give me this, my cousin is her first grandchild, she said, don't you worry sweetie, I already took care of her.
I think she gave my sister a pair of earrings. She just treated us like her own. I loved her too.
So, it's gonna be hard on Monday. Real hard. In lots of ways. This is the part of the family that's been real distant the last few years. You know, the kind that stops coming to things and stops including us in things but you find out everyone else and their brother was there. And when you do see them they act like nothing's wrong. If you do approach the subject they act like you are blowing things out of porportion.
cause it's perfectly normal to not see your first cousins baby yet. Not to call and ask how she is, or to even call to say congratulations. But it's ok to call and say, Are you coming to christmas or not? Cause we need a headcount for chilli dogs?
Oh, I'm on a roll, I need to stop.
Night!

If you do approach the subject they act like you are blowing things out of proportion.
cause it's perfectly normal to not see your first cousins baby yet. Not to call and ask how she is, or to even call to say congratulations. But it's ok to call and say, Are you coming to Christmas or not? Cause we need a headcount for chilli dogs?
:flower3: Sorry about your grandma, but what a blessing she has been, huh? And sorry your cousins are being weird. Am I the only one who thinks chili dogs for Christmas (or any time) sounds pretty good, though?

it's 2:00 a.m. here and i just got home from playing guitar hero with DH, anna and chris (my best friend and her husband). that game is ADDICTIVE!!!!!!! i'm soooo tired. but i'm wired so i thought i'd read up on our thread before i went to bed to calm me down a little bit.
before we went over there we stopped by our neighbor's house to see how he was doing. as i told you guys earlier, he had part of his tongue cut out where they found the tumor and they also took out his lymph nodes. anyway, amber (his wife) wasn't there and he couldn't talk very well, so i didn't really get to talk to him about disney. it did come up though - he was telling us how long it had been since he smoked and he said, "since before we went to disney world." and i said, "yeah, i heard about that. did you guys have fun?" and he nodded and said, "snow white's hot." :lmao: i told him i'd come over soon so amber could tell me all about it. i'll get the scoop then!
it was cute though - he had a magnadoodle he was writing stuff with instead of talking. and our other neighbors made him flash cards that consisted of things like "leave me alone", "more pain meds, please" and "hi, my name is shawn ______ and my address and phone number are ______" (in case he gets lost!) haha!
WAY TO GO on your good choices! :thumbsup2 we have golden corrals here and they are also filled with people who are NOT in good health.
Hey everyone..i was so anti peep in my dinner decision tonight..its not even funny..i totallly had A BIG MAC AND FRIES!!! Can you believe it.. granted i took out the middle "bun" to save a bit of calories..who needs another piece of bread anyway? lol...i crack myself up because we went to breakfast this mornign and i went to the trouble of getting an egg white omelet and a nonfat latte' blah blah blah..then i have the salt and fat factory for dinner..oh well..i don't think my daily calorie totals are THAT horrible considering i had little else..but still..oh well..it was good..and now its over...back to peepishness ! lol :lmao:
just be extra good the rest of this week and maybe all the big mac and fries will do is give your metabolism a good kick!
Oh, my DH paid me the biggest compliment today. He told me that he knew he shouldn't ask me about my weight, but he said that he noticed that I was looking might "hot". :cool2: What a compliment! I must be doing something right.
that's so sweet!!!!!!
So, it's gonna be hard on Monday. Real hard. In lots of ways.
big  to you, mony! i'm so sorry to hear all this.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:
Wanted to stop by and say HI since I have been mostly lurking these days. Just a few shout outs....
Faith! I told ja! It's that fiberless (but delicious) food they serve at Disney that puts the weight on. It just falls right off when you get back to healthy eating. ;)
Jen....Your belly is adorable! And I'm with Monica...is that it? Wait til the third! You'll look like that at 6 weeks!
Noni.....Poor kitty! I'm soooo sorry!
Fran! Something else will come along soon for your DH! God is good. Don't cancel the trip til 45 days out if you have to.
BEE!!! Where have you been? Come back and visit when you can!
You know who I've been wondering about lately?? Besides Bee?
DENE! Wonder if she got to her goal? Has a boyfriend? Is still friends with her hot trainer? CHECK IN DENE CARTER!
So, it's gonna be hard on Monday. Real hard. In lots of ways. Monica....I'm so sorry. She sounds like a fun grandma! And she sounds like she loved you kids like you were her own.
My Granddaddy passed away yesterday and the funeral is tomorrow too. He was almost 98 and had been in very poor condition physically for a long time. We had a nice visit with him at New Years. He knew me and talked to me for a good long while that afternoon and I'm thankful for that. I'll miss him but I'm happy that he's home now....no wheelchair required. :)
And Monica....re: the tent chapter in Eclipse....at twilightmoms.com Stephanie Meyers give a good description of the "actual" dialogue that went on between Edward and Jacob in her question/answer session that is posted on the site. You'd enjoy it.
EVERYBODY HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and condolences. My head and heart have reconciled and I know that was not only the only decision we could make but the best one as well, so our baby didn't suffer anymore.
Since I only ate one meal yesterday I wasn't very peep-like but it wasn't too bad. I brought almost all of my ribs home and split my dessert with DH. Those baked sweet potatos will kill you though. I looked it up and 1 potato has 13 pts! :scared1: I don't even want to find info on the drink I ordered.
It's DD1's b-day today. I have a 15 yr old. :headache: She has developed and interest in music and is currently a fan of Hanah Montana/Miley and the Jonas Brothers. She started writing song lyrics a few weeks ago and even has a few that are pretty good. We are celebrating by having a Disney food feast (for the kids, the adults need healthier foods.) We got the Mickey shaped pizzas, Pooh ravioli, and Cars soup. For snacking while we play games; there's Lion King cookies and Mickey shaped cheese slices. Dessert will be Monsters, Inc ice cream sundaes with Mickey sprinkles. It's not overly balanced, I feel a bit guilty feeding them so much junk. We did just have a discussion this morning about diabetes and nutrition and we always try to eat healthy so they know this is a rare treat.
Monica~ I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother and you wierd family. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.
Fran~ Oh No!!!!! We've been through unemployment a lot with DH so I know totally where you're coming from. Don't give up on your trip, things will look better in a month or two and it'll be ok. Make sure he's maximizing all his options; newspaper, internet, friends and business associates, he can even try a temp agency and request temp to perm jobs if he feels he's not getting anywhere on his own. If he needs to brush up on some skills and training, he should look into that during this down time as well, it will make him more attractive to potential employers. Our local college has a life learning program that offers short (1 day to 8 wks) classes in all types of things; HR, different computer applications, project management and more. Most of the classes are $150-300 to take. Our spring sememster just started but some of the classes aren't being offered until Mar and Apr so he may still be able to enroll.

Lexy~ to you as well. I can relate to knowing your grandpa is at peace. While it's heart breaking to loose someone it's also such a comfort to know they aren't suffering anymore.
I've been wondering about Dene lately too. She made so much progress and was such an inspiration last year. I'm sure she continued on that path and is doing great. It would be wonderful to get an update though!
DH just bought me flowers, I've got to get them in a vase.

(i hope that doesn't offend anyone.....i think it's hilarious!)
:rotfl: That is pretty funny. Your friends sounds like a really fun group of people every time you post about them.

I cant imagine having a 15 yr old!! :scared1: Has the boy crazy period started full swing yet? I am so not looking forward to that!
Have a great Sunday eveyone. I am planning to go to the mall for a SHORT little visit today...I have a gymbuck I need to spend and it expires today. (those familiar and obsessed with gymboree like I am will understand why it is imperative that I get there ;)) I of course will have to stop at the Disney store too. DH promised to come along (and he loathes the mall) and get me a wheelchair if I feel like I shouldnt be walking  I almost want to tell him I need it just to see if he really will do it :rolleyes1

Ok peeps I have a lot of catching up to do so here goes.
I just realized something. If we never get our old board back, that means that all of those bathing suit pics are lost forever, huh? What a shame, because mine was truly excellent.
And what about our intros and bios? Those would be lost, too. Goodness, this is really going to be an inconvienance for any future newbies.
I know what you mean, such a shame
I am STARVING today!! AF is visiting and I am so close to falling off the wagon. For lunch I had tomato soup and a 100 calorie pack of chees nips which = about 350 calories. Oh, and an apple socloser to 450. Plenty for lunch. So why do I want to stuff more in my face?
AF always does that to me.
OK, I am jumping in, if it's ok with you all. I wanted to post on the old thread, but it was long and all that blah blah blah.
I AM going to lose 15 pounds before we go on our trip to WDW in April. I've been eating like crap lately. Dh has been deployed for the last month and I just have not had the energy to do any 'work'.
I just want to be hot, is that so wrong?:confused3
Welcome aboard
I am having the same problem.:guilty: And I need to go to the store so I have no healthy carp around here.I am drinking crystal light-so far NOT helping. It is taking all my willpower not to grab Rachel's goldfish.:sad2:
Is it wrong to steal your kids goldfish:confused3
Sorry you're up!!!! Aunt Flo packed her bags 3 years ago (when Norah was bornt) but she left her cosmetics bag and her matching cell phone case. Ok, THAT just cracked me up wayyyy more than it should have. :rotfl2:
:lmao:
Found my way over. It has been a long week. Did not weight this morning. Here is a pic of Joshua after Katie's swim practice and then a pic of Rebekah and Joshua. I was snapping pictures of Rebekah after her bath and Joshua came in and said, "I say cheese too" so he joined her for some shots.http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q63/pigget74/bekahbirth-december07037.jpg
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q63/pigget74/bekahbirth-december07025.jpg
Those are great pictures. She's getting very big.
I KNOW!!! Crazy thoughts. The only things I am motivated to do right now is a) go on a posting frenzy b) eat an entire cake mix c) watch some TV.
I would go with the cleaning too. I need to do some :laundy:
okay......i have to vent to you all since you're the only ones that will understand. remember my neighbor who recently found a cancerous tumor on his tongue? well, ray works with a good friend of theirs and today she told him that his wife's work sent them and their kids to disney world when he found out he had cancer. now they know what a disney freak i am and amber (the wife) and i even talked about me helping them plan a trip when their youngest (DD2) is about 4 years old. so i'm kind of OFFENDED that they didn't come to me with this WONDERFUL news of this disney trip and ask me to help them plan it!!!! is that wrong? i just live for planning disney trips (i know......sad!) and they know this and didn't mention it to me. i feel bad for getting ticked about it because, one, i know it's silly and, two, they've been through a lot. but i could've made their trip SO MUCH BETTER!!!! i'm just expecting them to say, "yeah....we went to disney world and it was awful because we couldn't get in anywhere to eat and every park we went to was crowded." then i'll want to say, "i wish you'd have told me because i could've helped you with ALL OF THAT!!!!!!!!!" :sad2:
I totally understand. You can plan our trip. We are leaving on Nov 25th 2009. There will be 6 of us, DH, me, DS10, DS8 and DD4 (those ages are adjusted for the time that we will be there) and my mom. Feel free to tell what to do.
Eh! I couldn't find it...DARN!
BUuUuT...
I ran into this little ditty. From the best movie EVER!
I totally used to think Afternoon Delight was ICE CREAM....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aemQTqQ6Dfc
Thanks for the laugh, that was funny
PEEPS!!!! I got 95 lbs on my squats and i repped it 12 times!!!! wooo hooo!!!! :woohoo: and all the little boys were skeert!
:woohoo:
Dawn- i hate it that you feel so dissed...maybe there is something there that you didnt know about...i felt the same way when my coworkers went to Disney and all but flat out told me that they didnt want my advice.
How rude
i want everyone to FEEL THE MAGIC, damn it!
:lmao:
This is me too at my annual exam with my midwife. We BOTH love Disney and that's what we talk about in between my exam. Her SIL works as a nurse in Disney so she's there a lot.
"WHAT? YOU DON'T HAVE A PASSPORTER???? ARE YOU INSANE?!"

So sorry to hear about your kitty.
I don't think we'll be celebrating our 10th year anniversary at Disney World in June. My husband lost his job Thursday after the modular home company that he worked for permanetly shut down. I cried most of Thursday & part of yesterday. Why couldn't this have happened after I graduate in May 09?
Sorry to hear about your DH job. He'll find something soon.

I was reading your post eating a Boston Creme donut, that's bad
Ok, I mentioned in my journal that my "grandmother" passed away. She was 94.
Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I had the same situation, my mom's mother passed away when my mom was 7 and my father's mother (my parents were separated when I was 1 1/2) I used to see occasionally because she lived out of state. My cousin's grandmother though she was my Nonnie.
Sorry about your granddaddy. I felt the same way with my GP (grandpa). He had three strokes, one big one and two little ones and was in a wheelchair. He also had dementia (not sure if I spelled that one correct) so that was hard seeing him like that. He always thought I was my mom.
Well peeps I was gone for a day. Yesterday was an ok day as far as food went. I did good all day and then we went to a birthday party and I had macaroni salad (two helpings), sandwich (grinder that they cut up into small pieces), small piece of cake and two peanut butter cookies and of course a diet coke. I have to take Elizabeth to the doctors today I think she had croup. Talk to you later.

Lexy- Sorry about your papa. How nice to have that special afternoon with him. I am somewhat disappointed that my sister and I didn't go to the christmas gathering, cause Grandma Rose would have been there. I still have many great memories though.
I loved when she let me dress up in her fur coats.

I think we have just about enough of the fluffy stuff. Maybe I could ship some to you gals in warmer states!
I just spent 187.00 grocery shopping. Why does healthy food cost more? I stocked up on Peep friendly foods to keep on track. I need to drop at least 20 lbs before April 10th!!!

I got right back on my tread mill today. And it totally kicked my butt!
That's what I deserved for not working out for 2 weeks.
I ran though, I got 11 minutes of running in. My new tunes on my ipod helped. Total time on treadmill 28 minutes. I just couldn't go on. I am so out of shape.
How long does it take to get the ok to be registered at twlightmoms.com
It's been hours!

I have a question regarding exercising.
My plan is to do the treadmill no less than 4 times a week. I walk at a steady pace and alternate with running.
Do I need to do anything else? Is that all I need? Will that help tone my body?
Like right now, from the running, my butt is sore. I know the muscles were worked.
I also stretch before and after the work out. Some stuff I picked up from the tae bo tapes.

Punkin - be careful, this Peep board may have some PG vibes goin on!!!
i went back and edited it just to be safe, even though i've seen WAY worse stuff on other threads.
Punkin is a great resource too, so if you only buy one book, I'd go for the Passporter!! (and then use all of us!!!)
i'm a great resource? thanks for the compliment, but i highly doubt that! i love to plan disney vacations, but i have to consult MANY other resources to go about doing it. and i never said i was GOOD at it! :lmao:
laura - tour guide mike is good, but his site is sometimes confusing to use. so if you do sub to it just be patient.

not that i'm an expert, but from what i know, you will mostly lose weight from walking/running rather than tone because it's basically all cardio. now don't get me wrong - you will def. do some toning with your legs and butt. but if you wanna tone more you need to do weights. i'm trying to concentrate more on the cardio (which i hate) until i reach my goal weight, then i'll concentrate more on toning. i still do weights every week, but i just try to do more cardio than weights.
if you have a gym nearby that offers les mills classes, i would definitely look into joining. they offer a class called "body pump" that's EXCELLENT for toning and it makes weight lifting fun because they put it to music. anna bases her classes off of it. anyway, here's the website for the body pump class to tell you more about it. i think there's a link there for a class locator. oh, and if you find a gym that has les mills classes, i hope they offer "body jam"! it's my FAVORITE cardio workout.....so much fun!

I also just weighed myself, and I used to be 200 pounds. I am now 196. So I lost four pounds since the last time I weighed myself, which I think was about a month ago.
And my mom tells me I keep on gaining weight. :confused3

Everyone here is wonderful and we cheer each other on.
We all follow something that we find works best for us. Some do WW, some South Beach, counting calories (take the weight you want to be at, multiply that by 12 and that's the total amount of calories you can eat a day and lose weight.) That's Melinda's formula. It worked for my son.
We weigh ourselves on Fridays and report our progress.
Make the numbers large so Wendy, utahmama can total the numbers at the end of the day.
Since the year stared I think we are over 100 pounds lost for the group.
WIdisfan (aaron) has mini challenges for us. The next one's up on Valentines day.
Just chime in when you want to challenge yourself to lose 5 or 10 pounds before a certain date.

So we did the only thing we could do.That is so sad.
We have a dog and three cats at my house, but they always behave with each other. Actually the male cat is the meanest one. He takes over everything, especially the dog's bed, and eats everyones food.

Good luck to you!I think I lost four pounds since the begining of the year. I can't go on a "traditional" diet, since I can't give up certain foods, and South Beach would certainly never work, since that's the one that cuts out carbs, correct?
I think I'll try the 12x calorie thing. That seems to be what would be best for me, and the way I eat. So I'll aim for 150 by September, (my trip to Disney,) so that gives me eight months to lose 46 pounds. That seems somewhat doable, and that way I can still eat 1,800 calories a day. That seems like more then enough.
My biggest problem is snacking, and not realizing how much I eat at a time. Like betweent yesterday and this morning I ate a whole bag of mini rice cakes. That's like 390 calories, which actually isn't too bad. But I also ate about 300 calories worth of Doritos this afternoon. As well as the yogurt I had for breakfast, (100,) and then my lunch of pierogies, (360,) and a fruit cup parfait thing, (110,) and also a banana, (105.) So, so far today I've had 1365 calories. I guess 1,800 really isn't that many after all. They do add up quickly. And I still have dinner to eat, (I think I'll have salad, with no croutons tonight!) and work to get through, (no doughnut tonight either.) Then I'll just have to stop myself from snacking when I get home, (at midnight,) from work.

 to you. You reminded me of when my dad passed away, which will be 5 years ago tomorrow. (Hanky alert). He had been in a coma for 3 weeks, but woke up to talk to everyone and kiss my mom good-bye (they had been married 58 years). He got very agitated and kept pulling away the monitor wires and the oxygen tube, and we tried to stop him. Then my brother said,"let his hands go," and what do you think happened? He reached out towards Heaven. One day we will know what he saw. I wonder if it was my grandparents, my two brothers who each died before they were born, an angel, or Jesus Himself. If God really has a sense of humor, it was my mom's parents, who were none too fond of my dad.:)
So I know that what waits for us is better than any of us can imagine. Hope your grandfather is enjoying the feast.
I just came within inches of sliding into a plow! My antilock brakes finally kicked in and if the only time it ever happens again is on Test Track I would be very happy.I am still shaking!
I think we have just about enough of the fluffy stuff. Maybe I could ship some to you gals in warmer states! OK you could send us a little snow. It's still a novelty around here. and I hear you on the cost of food. I have to go back to the grocery store because they overcharged me by more than $4 on 2 jars of peanut butter. It's the principle of the thing, you know?

I have a question. I know I should exercise more, but I really can't afford a gym membership, have no exercise equipment, and I really can't do anything outside right now since it's absolutly freezing. I've had a runny nose for the past three weeks from the cold that I can not get rid of! Is there anyway to exercise indoors for free?
The only thing I can think of to do is to run up and down the steps over and over again, and even then I'll only do it when I'm home by myself, since otherwise people think I'm really weird.

I do the Walk Away the Pounds videos. They are very EASY to do! There are only four steps you have to learn. There is a 1, 2, 3, & 4 mile DVD. It also has a stretchie band with the 3/4 mile one. That helps with toning. It WILL make you sweat! which is a good thing ya' know. ;) You can get them for about $15 at WallyWorld (aka WalMart).

I suggest going to your local library and renting some exercise videos. I haven't tried them, but you might want to look for the Walk Away the Pounds DVD/Videos. You can also sneak some exercise into your day by parking farther from the store, taking the stairs everywhere, making a point to put laundry away right away rather than waiting to have a full basket, etc.
Good luck!

i did the 12 x goal weight thing and that worked for me. well, that and drinking water and exercising (mostly uping my cardio). i think the water thing was the best thing i ever did. i used to drink water every day, just not enough. i'd always drink diet soda and sweet tea (i'm a southerner) with it. but when i cut out the diet soda and sweet tea, the weight FELL off! i had the same reasoning when it came to diet soda - no calories, right? but i think the thing that happens at least with me and diet soda is that my body doesn't know what to do with all that "stuff" that's in there, so it sort of just slows down my body's process of digesting and getting rid of the other foods i have in my tummy. i didn't realize how when i cut out all that stuff i would feel sooooooo much better and the weight would start to come off a lot easier. i do allow myself 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning though. i wouldn't be a very nice person without it!
about your exercise question, i don't have much advise for indoor workouts other than the gym and just going out and buying some exercise DVDs. HOWEVER, the best thing i did was start running. so when the weather warms up wherever you are, get out and start with walking, then slowly work in some short jogging spurts in between. i hurt my knee in soccer when i was 14 and can't run for long periods of time, so i try to run 5 minutes, then walk 5 minutes, etc. it's AWESOME cardio!
Dawn I have this image of me causing the entire class to fall over like dominos. I'll have to find something less intense and then work up to that.
you can do it! believe me......i've seen people in those classes that knew a lot less about working out than you do and they did it! the good thing about weight training is you can start with very light weights and build up from there.

*makes 24*
3 C. "All Bran" cereal (I call it nuts and twigs) either the nuggets or stick kind
2 1/2 C. water
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pkg. KRUSTEAZ Fat Free Brownie mix....can use any fat free brownie mix, I think!
Soak the cereal in water for at least 10 minutes.
Add baking powder, vanilla, and brownie mix and mix well. (I use Kitchen Aid)
Spray muffin pan with PAM then fill each tin about 1/2 full.
Bake in preheated 350* oven for about 25 minutes.

Punkin what's the difference between sweet tea and iced tea? I drink unsweetened iced tea when I go to restaurants and then add Splenda to it because I like it better than say for instance Nestea. To me it tastes like real tea when it's not sweetened first and then you add the sugar or Splenda.

Sorry I have not arrived before. I did receive the PM, but there was a PMing frenzy going on that day and I had to clean out my PM box cause it was full, and then I deleted a bunch of stuff that I should have saved, including this link! Thanks to Mo for sending it to me again!
I have switched from Atkins now! I only planned on staying on it for a month, and I have finished the month. Now I am doing my own thing, but it is sort of south Beach-ish. I am trying to keep my calories down and still not eat any sugar. I bought some sugar free fudgecicles to satisfy the chocolate beastie inside!
Hope everyone else is doing well. I have not lost any weight this week, in fact I was up a couple pounds but I think I am PMSing. At least I hope so! Plus I had not been drinking as much water as I was before. But today I made sure to drink a lot. Hoping for good things this Friday weigh-in!

sugar! i was raised in a house where you blended in sugar immediately after you brewed the tea so it would dissolve well. because i grew up with tea made this way, i can definitely taste the difference between tea that's sweetened while hot with sugar (w/ ice added later) and tea that's been sweetened with splenda (or another sugar substitute) after it's cooled down. also, in the south (except for in florida....who knows why!) most restaurants offer sweet tea and unsweetened tea. from working in restaurants through college, i know that we'd take an entire pitcher of sugar and stir it into the tea urn (one of those big round metal ones) before the cold water was added so it would dissolve well. yes, an ENTIRE PITCHER OF SUGAR. :scared1:
not that i have anything against splenda and the like. i was just raised on that all-sugar sweet tea and it's something i had to cut out. i do treat myself every now and then, but it's not something i have regularly any more.

Right..i need to be accountable even with the bad stuff!
before we went over there we stopped by our neighbor's house to see how he was doing. as i told you guys earlier, he had part of his tongue cut out where they found the tumor and they also took out his lymph nodes. anyway, amber (his wife) wasn't there and he couldn't talk very well, so i didn't really get to talk to him about disney. it did come up though - he was telling us how long it had been since he smoked and he said, "since before we went to disney world." and i said, "yeah, i heard about that. did you guys have fun?" and he nodded and said, "snow white's hot." :lmao: i told him i'd come over soon so amber could tell me all about it. i'll get the scoop then!
it was cute though - he had a magnadoodle he was writing stuff with instead of talking. and our other neighbors made him flash cards that consisted of things like "leave me alone", "more pain meds, please" and "hi, my name is shawn ______ and my address and phone number are ______" (in case he gets lost!) haha!
just be extra good the rest of this week and maybe all the big mac and fries will do is give your metabolism a good kick!
Aww..thats pretty cute about the magnadoodle..it sounds like its helping to keep his spirits up..so important when you are going through that sort of thing!!
YES i agree dawn..i think the McDonalds excursion def. did SOMETHING to my metabolism...:rolleyes1 so i am not worried about it anymore...
I was reading your post eating a Boston Creme donut, that's bad
i should have had that instead!
Stop talking about Big Mac's please!
Now I want one! lol!
Oh you will not hear me talk about that for a long time..i was so sick last night and this mornign from the stupid thing..which is good in a way..because i certainly do not want fast food for a very long time!
I'm new here, (not to the DIS, just the Wish board,) and am trying to lose weight. I would love to be able to get back down to a size 12. I'm a size 16 right now, so while I'm not horribly obese, I do want to lose some weight.
WELCOME!! :)
I'm soaking the all-bran to make the pooh: muffins. thought I'd run UM's recipe again since the old thread is gone.
*makes 24*
75 calories a piece
Thank you for posting calories for those little guys..i was counting them as 95 ish so thats nice to know i was over counting not under! :thumbsup2

sugar! i was raised in a house where you blended in sugar immediately after you brewed the tea so it would dissolve well. because i grew up with tea made this way, i can definitely taste the difference between tea that's sweetened while hot with sugar (w/ ice added later) and tea that's been sweetened with splenda (or another sugar substitute) after it's cooled down. also, in the south (except for in florida....who knows why!) most restaurants offer sweet tea and unsweetened tea. from working in restaurants through college, i know that we'd take an entire pitcher of sugar and stir it into the tea urn (one of those big round metal ones) before the cold water was added so it would dissolve well. yes, an ENTIRE PITCHER OF SUGAR. :scared1:
not that i have anything against splenda and the like. i was just raised on that all-sugar sweet tea and it's something i had to cut out. i do treat myself every now and then, but it's not something i have regularly any more.
Ooohhh now that's my kind of tea! A whole pitcher? Wow! Bet it tasted GOOOODDDD though! :thumbsup2 Yes, I was brought up in the South and had sweet tea that you sweeten while the tea is still hot. Just no better way to drink it.

Sweet tea is the nectar of the gods. :cloud9: I would prefer to not think about how much sugar is in it, because I can go through a 2 gallon jug of it in about 2 days....and nobody else in the house drinks it :scared1:

Thanks I will.
Punkin what's the difference between sweet tea and iced tea? I drink unsweetened iced tea when I go to restaurants and then add Splenda to it because I like it better than say for instance Nestea. To me it tastes like real tea when it's not sweetened first and then you add the sugar or Splenda.
oh my....

and like Paula Deen - something about a cuppa sugar or a pounda buttah!! Makes the world go round...
*sigh... its taken some time, but I can drink iced tea plain - but hot tea, I gotta have sugar... terrible thing... sugar....
and now that dratted MickeyD's is offering Sweet Tea here, in the NORTH!! :faint: I just know I'm going to have to do a taste test!! Most places do NOT know how to do iced tea btw - and I forgot to mention the bottled teas you get have an off taste - its because you cannot keep brewed tea overnight - it gets stronger - so in order to stop that they add citric acid, which for me is an "off taste" Lipton is trying real hard to make a brewed tea for me to purchase in a bottle, they are close - just not quite there!!
its the syrup - YUCK - you have to brew tea to get iced tea!! or Sun Tea is ok too... *duh!!

Wow, what a chatty group! I'd say we are breaking in the new thread just fine.
But what a rough weekend for the Peeps. Hugs to those who lost love ones, be they human or pet. I can't relate to losing a pet, as my current dog is the first non-goldfish pet I've ever owned. However, I'm sure I'll be devastated when she is gone (hopefully not for a very long time). But I can relate to losing a grandparent that I was close to. My grandma will have been gone 7 years this Friday. She was like a 2nd mother to me, and to this day I tell my wife and friends stories about her. My favorite one happened when she was about 80 years old (she died a month short of her 88th birthday). She was driving through a part of town that was notorious for being a speed trap. The speed limit was 35, and according to her she wasn't going any faster than 37. I don't know if the cop just wanted to hassle an old lady or what, but he pulled her over for going 2 over. When he stopped her, he told her that while he couldn't write her a ticket he would give her a warning. He explained that she didn't have to do anything with it, and that she could rip it up when she got home. Apparently she didn't hear the "when you get home" part, and ripped it to shreds as soon as he handed it to her. But being the feisty woman that she is, she made the following statement about her not wearing a seat belt - "You probably noticed that I'm not wearing a seat belt. Well, you can go ahead and write me a ticket if you want, but I'm not going to strap myself in to this death machine". I think the cop realized that nothing was going to change this woman, and just turned around and left without issuing her that ticket.
Have a good day everyone!

Geeze, I have got to find time to get here over the weekend. It is going to take me forever to catch up.
Melinda I did see that your grandfather passed away and I am very sorry. I am glad you can find peace in knowing that he is with God and without pain.
All is well here. I am down 1 lb but didn't weigh until Sunday. AF is visiting and reeking havoc on the scale. I hope to see a big number this Friday.

Good morning!
I was horrible last night. I ate a three-serving bag of Sun Chips, (400 calories,) and then a doughnut once I got home, (230 calories.) I did have a salad for dinner, (150 calories,) so I was good about that, but not much else. That was a total of 2145 calories today, when I was aiming for 1,800. Oops!
I'm doing my grocery shopping today, and I'm going to try and stay away from processed foods. I do have a list, I just have to stick to it.

The beloved President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gordon B. Hinkley, passed away last night of "old age". It's the ONLY story on the news besides weather. In a way I'm happy for him because his wife died in 2004 and we believe them to be together again...they were so cute together. I know there's a couple LDS besides me, and I don't know if this news has made it nation wide yet. But, he will definitely be missed. He was a good man to say the least.
AND
The Bishop of my ward (like a Pastor or Reverend) has bone and blood cancer. :sad1:
Hey there, peeps!! Nice new digs!
I got the Atkins book and am doing induction this next two weeks to the letter (excpet for my morning diet Pepsi, of course).
Yay on the magical 5 pounds! I still have PMS (all month :headache: ) but no Aunt Flo, thank you!
The last time I had magical weight loss, the batteries on my scale needed replacing so I'm jealous and happy for ya!
sugar! i was raised in a house where you blended in sugar immediately after you brewed the tea so it would dissolve well. because i grew up with tea made this way, i can definitely taste the difference between tea that's sweetened while hot with sugar (w/ ice added later) and tea that's been sweetened with splenda (or another sugar substitute) after it's cooled down. also, in the south (except for in florida....who knows why!) most restaurants offer sweet tea and unsweetened tea. from working in restaurants through college, i know that we'd take an entire pitcher of sugar and stir it into the tea urn (one of those big round metal ones) before the cold water was added so it would dissolve well. yes, an ENTIRE PITCHER OF SUGAR. :scared1:

What about Mint Julippe's (sp?) At the Blue Bayou restaurant at Disneyland (inside Pirates) they have lots of cajun and Southern food. I was in HEAVEN. They did have Sweet Tea too....VERY good. I know what you mean about the sugar being added while HOT. It makes more of a syrup than granules of sugar. I tasted DH's whilst I had the mint...SO GOOD!

I have to be at work in an hour, which after working the late shift last night is not very appealing to me this morning. I don't mind working late or early, I just hate when they schedule me a late shift, and then an early one. So sorry about your Bishop, that's really sad. I hope he and his family are coping ok. When I was in 6th grade (this was when 6th grade was part of elementary school and we spent the entire day with one teacher) my teacher died. He was also the Bishop of my ward, so it was a double whammy. That was a really hard time for my small little town, but especially for those of us who were also in his class.*

Utah---saw the news of his passing this morning and thought of you.
SWEET TEA--this is how I make it and just let me say you could go into a diabetic coma from it. I put 2 family tea bags in my coffee pot. I add 4 cups water and let it sit for about 15 minutes. In a pitcher I put 1.5 cups of sugar and then pour the tea on top and mix. THen I add the rest of the water. THis only makes 2 qusrts. My DH loves it--but I can only drink it in moderation. We have a place here called McAllisters Deli and they make the best sweet tea-other than mine that is.

So Pigget two family tea bags, what exactly is a family tea bag (sorry for those southerners that are laughing at me for not knowing what that is) Do you add hot water to those tea bags or cold water? Laura, its a large size tea bag - Lipton makes them I think they may be called "Family Size"
Great, now I want tea -
and w/o thinking I went out to lunch with dh - Chinese - that always adds 3# to your weight - its the sodium - but the Laundry Monster has been conquered... nnow to make the bed - my exercise for today!! (its a waterbed - and they no longer make waterbed sheets or sell themnear where I live - but i'm hooked on Egyptian Cotton anyway... yes I'm rambling - who wants to do work when you can ramble??)

Me has to taste some of this. We might be going to TN this summer to visit a friend of my DS. His mom always talked about sweet tea but I nenver could figure out what she meant. Thanks.
are you going to nashville? if so, i can give you the low down. i grew up there. celery (who's been MIA lately) is from there, too. anyway, i love nashville and you'll def. be able to find sweet tea there (or anywhere in tennessee for that matter!)
if i need a sweat tea fix i go either to mcdonald's, zaxby's or cracker barrel - those are the best in this area at least (other than making it myself at home and i can't do that or i'd gain back all the weight i've lost!)
okay....sorry for the un-peep-like sweet tea talk. WATER! WATER! WATER!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

What do you do?I work at a grocery store. I do a lot of random odd jobs, especially when I work the late shifts.
I am only part time, but I do get good pay since I get 25 cent raises every three months or something, as well as benefits. I always have around 30 hours a week even though I'm just part-time. But I get paid better, and have benefits I didn't have at another job I had that was full-time.
The hours are a little more screwy, but I don't mind being there late. Except today I was there all afternoon, and we were very busy at the begining of my shift, so I was on a register, and I must have had the worst customer ever, who almost made me cry. Fun day.

So far today I've had sausage, (150 calories,) and yogurt, (100,) for breakfast, as well as a diet coke with lime. Lunch was a Lean Pocket, (280.) I figure I'll get some fresh fruit from the salad bar at work on my break.
I have to be at work in an hour, which after working the late shift last night is not very appealing to me this morning. I don't mind working late or early, I just hate when they schedule me a late shift, and then an early one. At least I have twelve hours between shifts, once they had me there until 1:00 AM, and then had me back in at 8:00 AM, that was no fun.My tacos were 400 calories, (going by how many calories are in the Taco Bell tacos, so my may have had less,) and I'll guess around 100 calories for the fruit I had at work, though it was probably less then that. So 1030 so far today total?

I also set a new goal for myself. 150 by September, which I'm sticking too, but 170, (my "college" weight,) by June. Maybe then I won't feel so fat when I go to the shore.

oh, my goodness. well, my staying up late the past few days and going out of town last weekend caught up with me! i CRASHED tonight. hard. i hope i'm not getting sick. i was working on a transcript and couldn't keep my eyes open. i had to lay down and i NEVER do that! i took a 30-minute nap and when i woke up i felt all foggy and disoriented. but i'm okay now. my body was just saying......stop!!!!! because of this i made myself some coffee and ate some chocolate. so my calorie count today is shot. but i feel loads better. i just needed to slow down for a second. i've had a lot of family drama lately and i'm always the person that can fix everything. i need to learn that i can't always take on that role and that I CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE ELSE'S PROBLEMS. :sad2:
okay.....sorry. had to vent there for a second. i'm off to fold laundry and then go to bed. i've got court all day again tomorrow and wednesday. but it's good because we've been slow lately and i'm FREAKING out about money and our disney trip in 3 months.
have a good night!

I let DH talk me into a rather unhealthy brunch today. I won't say what it was so I don't help anyone tumble off the wagon. There must have been about 30 points in it at least. I didn't eat anything other than the brunch so it would've been worse if I did.
We went to water aerobics this morning. It was different, pretty enjoyable but not nearly as intense as the workout I did on Friday. I've decided water aerobics will be for my 'off' days between the harder workouts.
I need to get some sleep, night all!

Ok, I mentioned in my journal that my "grandmother" passed away. She was 94.
I never had a real grandmother to share my life with. The only one I did have passed when I was 3 months.
Night!
sorry for your loss - and kind of crazy cousins- We all have those, I think!
GOOD MORNING! :sunny:
My Granddaddy passed away yesterday and the funeral is tomorrow too. He was almost 98 and had been in very poor condition physically for a long time. We had a nice visit with him at New Years. He knew me and talked to me for a good long while that afternoon and I'm thankful for that. I'll miss him but I'm happy that he's home now....no wheelchair required. :)
EVERYBODY HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY!
sorry too for your loss - hope all went well.
I'm new here, (not to the DIS, just the Wish board,) and am trying to lose weight. I would love to be able to get back down to a size 12. I'm a size 16 right now, so while I'm not horribly obese, I do want to lose some weight.
I also just weighed myself, and I used to be 200 pounds. I am now 196. So I lost four pounds since the last time I weighed myself, which I think was about a month ago.
And my mom tells me I keep on gaining weight. :confused3
welcome
I have a question. I know I should exercise more, but I really can't afford a gym membership, have no exercise equipment, and I really can't do anything outside right now since it's absolutly freezing. I've had a runny nose for the past three weeks from the cold that I can not get rid of! Is there anyway to exercise indoors for free?
The only thing I can think of to do is to run up and down the steps over and over again, and even then I'll only do it when I'm home by myself, since otherwise people think I'm really weird.
doing the stairs sounds like a great idea. My dad did that for years, and it kept his blood pressure - cholesterol etc. under control. I've been walking for the last several weeks with my coworkers indoors. It's not freezing here mostly - just not comfortable for outdoor walking. We figure whatever works so that we actually walk is a good thing. We have a hall that is maybe five feet wide and we walk single file. It's actually pretty funny, but we get our heart rates up, and we're really proud of being consistent.
:lmao: That's great!

The Bishop of my ward (like a Pastor or Reverend) has bone and blood cancer. :sad1:
What about Mint Julippe's (sp?) At the Blue Bayou restaurant at Disneyland (inside Pirates) they have lots of cajun and Southern food. I was in HEAVEN. I read about the LDS president's death and thought of you ladies. I hope he's with his wife now. And I'm sorry to hear about your bishop, UM. I'll add him to my prayers.
Oh, and we love the mint julips. When DH and I went to New Orleans (the real one) when we were newlyweds, we asked in a bar if we could get them without the whiskey. The bartender told us that would be water and a mint leaf. We felt pretty dumb.
Ok guys. DD does have croup and she's a big cranky pot today. The pedi told the steroids would make her this way and then to put icing on the cake she's 2. She's sleeping on my shoulder as a type which is very hard to do. I'll be back later when I can feel my arm.
Sorry about DD's croup. My kids used to get it. They sound so awful, it just breaks your heart. Hope she feels better soon.
I I must have had the worst customer ever, who almost made me cry. Fun day.
Hope tomorrow is better.
i need to learn that i can't always take on that role and that I CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE ELSE'S PROBLEMS. :sad2:
Sorry about the drama. Take good care of yourself.
I started reading Twilight yesterday. It gets me on the exercise bike, which is good, because DD is selling World's Finest Chocolate, and DH and I have been her biggest customers. I have the feeling I won't be getting much sleep tonight. Must read more!

hello?? May I come in?? I'm new here (just to the Peeps, not to the Dis). I've been looking for a really active place to "chat" and this definitely seems to be the place. I hate to admit how many times a day I check the boards, and it is very disappointing when there is nothing new to read, which seems to happen a great deal. I've really been searching for an active group to hang with and you folks seem to really fit the bill!
I just spent the morning reading this entire thread. Wish I could have been a part of the former thread, but glad to see this new one. Since I have read so much about most of you, I'll share a bit of myself here.
I'm a 40-something mom of two. My adult weight has been a YO-YO since my early 20's. My most recent "journey" is as follows.... all - time high weight came about 2000. I had lost weight after second child and and was pretty happy with myself when he turned 1. But unfortunately I gained it all back and then some and I hit a number on the scale I would have never thought possible.
I was at about my max weight when we took our first family trip to WDW in 2002 and I HATE how I look in the pix. When we planned another trip for January 2004, I buckled down and lost 42 pounds before we went (on Weight Watchers... attending meetings). While I wasn't at my goal yet, I felt good about myself and how I looked (I was still 30 pounds above goal). I managed to keep off most of the 42 pounds for close to a year, but didn't lose any more.
The weight started to creep back on in late 2004, early 2005 and by the time we went to DL in July, I had gained back about 12 pounds (guessing... didn't dare get on a scale!). Since July 2005 I have been packing on the pounds and I had gained back 27 of the 42 I had lost :scared1:
Well, guess what.... we are planning another trip and I REFUSE to return to WDW bigger than I was last time. So I have until mid-April to lose AT LEAST 30 pounds. I know it is a lofty goal... especially since it took me a full year to lose the original 42. But I'm afraid if I don't set an aggressive goal, I will slack off.
I have been doing Weight Watchers (on my own at home) faithfully since 1/2/2008 and have lost 11 pounds so far this year (my January goal was 12 lbs.). :yay: But it was a tough weekend and AF is visiting, so I don't hold out much hope for that last pound by the end of the week.
ANYHOOOOO... sorry to ramble on so. Just wanted to introduce myself. I hope to find lots of inspiration from you folks... and I hope to offer plenty of support back. Thanks so much for allowing me to jump in.................P

Melinda & Monica - Hope you made it through yesterday.
Ok Peeps, I just got back from my morning jog. I did 2.3 miles! Plus I did another mile while walking the dogs after the bus came. What have you done today? Let's MOVE today!!!!! :yay:
Funny side story, Trixie finally came on the walk today. On Monday, she would not come with me and Shadow. When I would call her to put her leash on, she would come look at me and the leash, and then run back into the bedroom with my husband. Well, I went ahead and took Shadow out to the bus stop. Usually when my neighbor and I pass back by the house, she will be looking out my side windows. We looked..... no Trixie. She had decided to go back to bed with my husband. It was tooooo cold for her. :rotfl2: Well, she decided that it was warm enough this morning to "grace" us with her presence.

It is Lipton Tea and the size of the bag is called family. I put 4 cups is the resevoir ot the coffee pot and put the bags in the pot. Turn it on and the hot water fills the pot. I let it sit for about 15 miuntes. Put sugar in pitcher and pour hot water over--mix then add the cold water. It is yummy--this is all we drink in the summer. I think you can make it with spenda but not sure on the ratio.

I am Allie, and I do WW as well. I am a lifetime member who has had to get back on the program 3 times. I am about 5 -7 lbs. away from my goal, but it has been hard to get there and stay there. Every time I get within striking distance, I do something to sabotage myself. I just did the 5K in Disney with my 9 yo daughter. I had an injury in October, but have since recovered, and plan to start my running plan again.
We can't wait to get to know you. Come by and visit anytime! Oh and here is the lowdown:
Weigh In is on Friday
Weigh yourself this Friday (make a mental note - posting the Number isn't required unless you want to)
Next Friday, weigh again and post your loss (cause you know it will be a loss) in pretty bold colors.
UtahMama (Wendy) is our leader, WIDisneyFan (aaron) is the keeper of our challenges. We currently have a Valentine's challenge. If you want to participate, just tell Aaron how much you want to lose by Valentine's.

Hi guys just checking in after a HORRIBLE DAY i wanted to rip my hair out it was just one thing after the other I need somewhere to vent.
 here's to a new day and new beginnings. You are doing the right thing for you and your family by taking care of yourself. I think us moms are always so busy worrying about and tending to everyone else that we always come last. I only have two children and I get lost in the shuffle most days but have managed to set aside 2 hours every night just for me; after everyone else is tucked in bed of course. It has made a huge difference in my overall happines.
Good morning. I am super tired. I will post later and catch up after much needed coffee.
I just sucked back my 20 oz and am feeling human again. It's my crack.
GOOD MORNING!
We're home and getting back to the routine. Thanks again for all the kind words and
We had a good day remembering yesterday. It was truly a celebration of his life.
I am sorry for your loss. Somehow I missed that you had lost a loved one.
WELCOME!!! :cheer2: It sounds like you are well on your way. I am completely addicted to these boards as well and am well on my way to needing intervention.
WOW!! You are doing so well. I still do all my running on the TM. I am a bit nervous about running outdoors alone and lord knows my fatty pups aren't coming with me. They would be waving to me from the window not unlike your Trixie  . It sounds like you have yourself a little, furry, princess.
I feel like doggy doo---Joshua is a petri dish--he is sharing his yucky germs and I can barley swallow and my head is killing me. Dh leaves in a little bit and will return Thurs. late afternoon. Rebekah is still not sleeping through the night. I tried giving her cereal last night and she still woke up 2x. Oh well.
Hope that everyone is doing well.
Uggghh, the funk is back!! That is the one thing kids are great about sharing. I hope you get some much needed rest today. You certainly have your hands full.

OMG you guys!!! I just ran an entire mile without stopping. That is HUGE for me. I was playing with the speed on the treadmill and I wanted to start with just fast walking and found that I was slow running and held that pace and before I knew it, I ran a mile! This is so encouraging.
Just wanted to share my triumph.

Thanks! I am encouraged that I can keep the pace that I left off at back in October. Never thought I would be able to get there after hurting my knee.
Now Trixie is NOT a furry princess, that is her problem, she has so little hair that she has NOTHING to keep her warm on cold mornings except the bed! :rotfl2:

Just incase it was a figment of my imagination or if I was temporarily (I don't think I spelled that right) invaded by some alien, I tried it again. And guess what? I did it again. This is so invigorating. I can see me running down the road over here in the spring. All the runners run on it. Running peacefully.
I can also see a 5K in my future. I wasn't believing myself before. Trust me, a 250+ woman running isn't pretty. But I have so much hope.
Woot Woot everyone!

Has anyone seen the "hula excercise chair" on Ellen? I just about died laughing! I think it would be a great ab work out just trying to stay on the dang thing!:rotfl2:
I didn't see it!!!! Dang! I LOVE Ellen too. Her comedy special included a bit on automatic bathroom flushers and automatic sinks that had me laughing HYSTERICALLY...that wheezing silent type of laugh that includes tears :lmao:

Welcome! Your user name I read as "Pa-Jilla" :lovestruc
Yes we are very active. I come here every time I want to snack, which is often.
Your diet history sounds a lot like mine. I was only at my goal weight long enough to take an AFTER picture! Got pregnant and gained 40 and darned if it wont come off, my youngest is 3 and a half! . I've lost 7 since the "new start" the first week of January. I want to lose 43 more pounds. As long as there is a lower number each week than the previous week, I will be thrilled. I don't want to be a "SAMER" (lose nothing) at all!!!!!
I've been on WW officially NINE times  . I lost a TON of weight before getting pregnant with Norah (my dd3) by doing a High (lean) protein/ GOOD carbs. diet and that's what I'm doing now. It's working well for me so I won't mess with it.

Morning all. Sorry I haven't been around much. It's year end here which means my staff is working like crazy. We have over 5000 w2-s to process by the end of this week and so far 32 are done and verified! Plus all of the other stuff that goes with year end. It's just been slam, slam, slam here and I'm either at work or sleeping right now--no time for fun.
I'm sticking to my diet but not exercising at all. I have a sinus infection and it's cold (well, California cold anyway) and I am not motivated with the long work days. I hope I don't get discouraged because I know the weight will not come off if I don't exercise. Not at my age. And I do so much want to be able to put on a bathing suit a year from now when we go to the Bahamas. Skinny doesn't work if it comes with the jiggly.:rotfl:
I'm reading even if I'm not posting so welcome to the new peeps, :grouphug: to Misty, Melinda and everyone else who is having tough times. Aaron you continue to be my motivation because you are strong and I hear you saying "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" every time I'm tempted. To everyone else, HI. I'll be more chatty again once I survive year end here.

Hey, there, friends!
I told you that yesterday morning I was down 5 pounds overnight, right? Well this morning, I was down another 2.5 pounds!! Man, I must have retained a lot of water while I was PMSing last week! (Remember when I gained the two pounds for Friday's weigh in?). But whatever, I'll take it! :cool1:
Punkin, that bubble butt pic was hilarious, I hope you don't mind but I posted it on the Mad Chatter thread yesterday (but I did give you credit for it!).
MO! Great job on the running, lady! I would be soooo proud of myself! I am still not exercising at all. I can't join the gym till after I go to WDW next week. And with my heel spurs I can't just do any old exercise, KWIM? At least next week I will get a lot of walking in. Just hoping I don't have to resort to wheelchair use, like I did in December.

Hey Peeps,
I seem to be taking a lot of hiatuses (what is the plural of hiatus?) lately. My cousin is still at our house which means that my computer has limited operating hours combined with working everyday at my internship makes me a very busy and tired girl lately. Anyway, I hope all of you have been doing well and losing a lot!
Unfortunately, I got some bad news yesterday. My dad, who I mention had cancer, passed away yesterday. I also mentioned our interesting relationship i.e. the fact that he was not around a lot and we were not like most father/daughter relationships. But things had gotten better and we at least made the effort to call or have lunch when he was in town. The services are still TBA at the moment and I will probably be the last to know since to them I am apparently the low man on the totem pole. I stayed home from work today just because I need to be alone, and think, and be sad. Anyway, I wanted to let you all know because Peep prayers are so wonderful, and I would love to have some sent my way because I will need it to get through the next few days or so. Thanks everyone!
Oh and why are we in a new thread? Did I miss something really juicy and exciting? Fill me in.
Weight wise, I'm about the same as I was right after the holidays. I think I lost a pound. I've been putting off the Couch-5k program for about 3 weeks now. That would help tremendously I think. And weekends are killing me. Any good stuff I do during the week is being erased by the weekends, or nighttime snacking.
Anyway, I'm going to go read and probably take a nap. Didn't sleep much last night. Thanks in advance for the good thoughts, peeps!

They may come back as read-only threads, but they probably won't allow any new posts on those threads. At least that's what I've gotten out of the whole thing.
That is so sad about your dad, my sympathies are with you.

Thank you for the compiment! If my struggles can help motivate others to do better for themselves, then I'm a happy camper. And I know all about the long hours, so you just need to take care of yourself. We'll all be here when you get time to take a breath!

I am so sorry to hear that. As I mentioned to Pakey, be sure to take care of yourself during this difficult time. That is the most important thing right now.
As for the the new thread, the DIS Mods tried an experiment where they would remove any threads with >10,000 posts to try and increase the speed of the boards. They were going to do this for 24 hours to see if it had any effect. I guess they liked what they saw, because those big threads never returned.

I just got some bad news about my DF(iance,) this morning. He is having heart problems again.
He had a heart attack in the fall of 2005, and had some minor problems in 2006, but he has been in the hospital off and on for a few months. We had to cancel a trip we were going to take together right after Thanksgiving, but that's the least of my worries.
He was in the hospital for Christmas and New Years, but had been out for a little while, but he's checking back in today for more tests. They aren't really sure what's wrong with him. They don't think he had another heart attack. (How can they not know if he had a heart attack or not?) But sometimes his heart beats too much, and sometimes not enough. It's really screwed up.
I have to see him though. He said he wants to ask me something, but he can't ask me over the phone. I won't be seeing him today though since I have work soon, and don't get off until late.
I just hope he's out of the hospital for my birthday and Valentine's at this point.

I'm hoping to eat fruit again at work, and a Lean Cuisine at work for my dinner.Add an ounce of almonds, (160 calories,) to what I've eaten so far today, and a banana, (100.) That's 760 so far total, I am still "allowing" myself just over 1,000 more, though if I stick to my fruit and Lean Cuisine plan at work I should not go over that many, and I should actually be hungry.
Except I do tend to eat when I'm stressed, and with DF back in the hospital saying I'm stressed is an understatement. I just hope I don't have a customer flip out on me again today, that's the last thing I need with everything else.

Hey Peeps,
I seem to be taking a lot of hiatuses (what is the plural of hiatus?) lately.

Hey PEEPS, I just got caught up(pg10-16).
First of all :grouphug: to everyone who needs one.
Second I'm starting to fall off the band wagon. I've don't think I've ridden the bike all week. But, I have been eating pretty good. I do great with breakfast, lunch, and snack. But, then I hit dinner and bedtime snack. I was wondering if there was a secrect carb formula like the calorie one. I'm alot better at counting carbs.
So tomorrow no matter what I am riding my 5 miles. :cheer2:

I KNOW this is tacky, but I just updated my TR. I hope y'all'll come read. It's short.
Punkin- TIPS!!!! Not a dream job, sure, but fun to talk to people. Rude people are only there to entertain you.
Sleeping- can you ride a mile for me too? I'm still coughing my head off every time I try to go on the tread mill! I double over coughing. Don't worry about falling off THIS wagon...we'll all grab you and drag you if you need us to :grouphug:
Wonders- ! We're here for you sister!

Wendy, I am hooked on the twilightmoms website. Very interesting over there.
It's pouring over here. It even lightninged, its a word, on my way home from school.
They said it's gonna freeze over tonight. Scary if you have to drive on nothing but ice.
I'm talking pouring like buckets.

Hi guys just checking in after a HORRIBLE DAY i wanted to rip my hair out it was just one thing after the other I need somewhere to vent..
so sorry it was a bad day - I hope today was better!
hello?? May I come in?? [SIZE="3"]I'm new here (just to the Peeps, not to the Dis).
welcome - glad to have you! At least you didn't gain it all back plus some - you know you can do this!
Morning all. Sorry I haven't been around much. It's year end here which means my staff is working like crazy. We have over 5000 w2-s to process by the end of this week and so far 32 are done and verified!
I told someone my month end ran into my year end - and it is hard but that statement about 5000 w2s just made me sick to my stomach. I only had 200 or so W2s , and that just about killed me.
Anyway, I'm going to go read and probably take a nap. Didn't sleep much last night. Thanks in advance for the good thoughts, peeps!

will that be good exercise?! It seems like very hard work!
I walked at lunch with my coworkers, did my workout tonight, and stayed on the treadmill for a few extra minutes. I have to count every single tiny good thing I accomplish. They seem so small. I'm still keeping on.

thats so funny..we went there for dinner tonight..they are always busy at our local longhorn so i imagine you will be busy and oh-so rich in no time ;)
I just got some bad news about my DF(iance,) this morning.
I just hope he's out of the hospital for my birthday and Valentine's at this point.
i hope your fiance' is ok!!!

:grouphug: to all the peeps that aren't feeling well right now!!!!!
misty - YAY to a year for you!!! and you asked about how we are all able to get on here and keep up. are you kidding me, woman??? you have all those kiddos - i don't know how you get anything done at all! the fact that you get on here to check up on us at all is amazing to me. i don't have ANY kids and sometimes i can't keep up!
We had a good day remembering yesterday. It was truly a celebration of his life.
 :goodvibes
hello?? May I come in?? [SIZE="3"]
WELCOME!!!!! you'll love it here! we move fast but just jump right in any time. and 30 pounds is totally doable by april. last year i joined this thread at the beginning of march and we went to WDW at the beginning of may. i'm thinking i had lost 20 pounds during that time. i was trying but of course there's always ways to try harder!
Ok Peeps, I just got back from my morning jog. I did 2.3 miles! Plus I did another mile while walking the dogs after the bus came. What have you done today? Let's MOVE today!!!!! :yay:
AWESOME! :thumbsup2 i ran 1 mile at the gym on the treadmill.....that's all i had time for (30 minutes). but it's better than nothin!
OMG you guys!!! I just ran an entire mile without stopping. That is HUGE for me.
WHOOOOOO HOOOOOTY!!!! :dance3:
I'm trying to lose 8 ounces by 1pm.
:lmao: only on this thread!
Punkin, that bubble butt pic was hilarious, I hope you don't mind but I posted it on the Mad Chatter thread yesterday (but I did give you credit for it!).
no problem! and no need to credit me - it was forwarded to me from a friend!
Unfortunately, I got some bad news yesterday. My dad, who I mention had cancer, passed away yesterday.
 i'm so sorry to hear this, shannon. you are in my prayers. good to hear from you - come back more often if you can!
I just got some bad news about my DF(iance,) this morning. He is having heart problems again.
 that stinks. most of the men in my family have heart problems, so i know how you feel (sorta). if it makes you feel any better, my dad had open-heart surgery in february 2006, my grandpa in june 2006, one uncle in 1998 and the other uncle in november 2007. i'm not even sure if that's something they're looking at doing....but if they are, it's scary to think about but it's really a common surgery now and i'm sure he'll be fine.
Rude people are only there to entertain you.
thanks. i'm gonna have to repeat that one in my head a few times, i'm sure! two things i learned on how to deal with rude people:
1. go to the freezer in the kitchen and SCREAM AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS.....no one can hear you in there!
2. kill em with kindess.....and i mean super sweet ironically-wonderful kindness!
yours is the next TR i have to catch up on when i get a few minutes. :surfweb:
will that be good exercise?! It seems like very hard work!
i hope so! when i did it in college i didn't really work out all that much and i kept the weight off. honestly, now that i think about it, it was when i stopped waiting tables that i started to kinda gain weight. and my biceps were always nice-looking too from carrying those plates!
thats so funny..we went there for dinner tonight..they are always busy at our local longhorn so i imagine you will be busy and oh-so rich in no time ;)
i hope so! :cool2:
picture this, peeps. i was at court today and had to go to the ladies room. it's pretty early in the morning and the cleaning ladies had just cleaned the restroom. so i go in and go into a stall, pull down my pants and start to sit down....then i realize at the last second that the toilet seat is up, so i reach outwards to catch myself before i fall into the cold water. as i'm doing this, i TOTALLY SLICED my right arm on the side of the trash can!!!! i mean, as in there was a flap of skin hanging off of it. i know.......TMI! but i cut it on the trash can........ewwwwwwwwww!!!!!!! as soon as i finished my business i went to the sheriff's office and asked them for some hydrogen peroxide and a bandaid. i've been putting the hydrogen peroxide on it all day and then neosporin, then a band aid. and i've run through 4 bandaids today because it keeps bleeding through. :scared: gross! anyway, i hope it's not infected. it doesn't hurt.....just looks gross.
i shot some videos for expotv today (which i'll probably post tomorrow) and in the review of my refrigerator you can see the ginormous bandage i have on my arm....it's sooooooo attractive!

Hi guys just checking in after a HORRIBLE DAY i wanted to rip my hair out it was just one thing after the other I need somewhere to vent.
... Misty, you are a beautiful woman inside and out. I hope that one day you can get your teeth fixed so you can eat well and healthily and feel good, but honey, you are gorgeous no matter what. I'm glad that you are making 2008 your year. It's like the time on an airplane when they tell you to put on your oxygen mask before trying to put one on your child. If you don't take care of yourself, you will have nothing to give your family. So give yourself lots of loving care.
hello?? May I come in?? I'm new here (just to the Peeps, not to the Dis). Your life sounds a lot like like mine. Welcome to the peeps, and best of luck in your weight loss.

OUCH!!! Sure you didn't need a stitch or two? Congrats on your second job. I tutor before and after school as my second job. Make an extra 190 a week if I do not miss a day --before taxes.
I have been up for about 2 hours. Joshua decided not to sleep last night and then when he was asleep Rebekah was up---so today is going to be a LONG day. I feel horrible and I think Joshua does to. I am going to toake some Tylenol cold day stuff and maybe that will help.
Have a good one.

Hey Peeps!
I have some catching up to do on this thread!
How great is this season of the biggest loser????!!!!!! I think its the best season so far
i'm so glad they got rid of that girl Jenn from the purple team! She deserved to go! I was sick of hearing her whine and complain all the time

Morning peeps.
Hows the wind in your neck of the woods?
It's brutal over here.
Ditto. 50+ mph wind gusts, producing wind chills of 45 below! At that temperature, any exposed skin will be frost bitten in 10 minutes. Brrrrr. I'm just hoping my truck starts after work tonight. I've never had a problem with it, but it is 12 years old with 161,000 miles on it. So you just never know.
Biggest loser - great season so far. Lots of little twists and turns. I am not a fan of the former purple team AT ALL. So I was happy that Jenn was voted off last night. My two favorite couples - the former grey team (ex-football teammates) and the former orange team (the mother/son team). They are both on the same color team now, so that made me happy. But I don't really like the former black team (the brothers), so I have mixed emotions about them now.

WOW...lovely weather out there my friend! :scared1: I have a friend that lives in WI too and she was saying that she enjoys it, but once she realizes that she still has about 2 more months of iceburg weather to go, she begins to hate it..i can see why! Today is actually pretty darn mild in MA..about 44 when i left the house, feels like spring :rotfl:
