Maybe someone can help me. Can I use my birth certificate and my drivers license for immigration check at Port Canaveral or do I have to have passport. Also what do they do if you name is spelled like a mans name and your last name is not the same. See my name is said Michele but it is spelled Michael......Oh also does anyone know where I can get passport information. Thanks

For a US citizen your BC and DL should be fine - you don't absolutely need a passport.

If you want to go ahead and get a passport though, then you'll need to make a trip to your local post office - be sure to check though, as not all post offices accept passport applications, and those that do usually only accept them on weekdays between 8-5. More info on passports can be found at http://www.usps.com/common/passport/

Yes, what you have should be fine, but a passport is easier. Everything you need to know about passports can be found here:

http://travel.state.gov/passport_services.html

There is a link on this site that will allow you to search for all of the places near you where you can apply for the passport.

We ordered our passports in early February and did not use the 'expedited delivery' option.

It took eight calendar days (6 business days) to get them back.

I downloaded a copy of the passport application form and filled it out at home and had two copies of pictures with us.
