I know a little boy (11 months old) who was just diagnosed with Leukemia. He just started chemo last week. He'll be in the hospital for at least 6 months. He's been going through 6-7 pjs (2T) per day. Does anyone know of any stores that are having a good sale on pjs? I plan on checking out Old Navy next weekend, but I didn't know what kind of deals were out there. Thanks.

Sue

Update: I had told some people of my mom's blog because she had some info on there about Cody. We created a blog tonight for Cody so that people would be able to keep up on how he is doing. http://codyold.blogspot.com/

That is so generous of you. Thank you so much. I'll get back to you and PM you with his grandmother's address. She said the button up kind would be best because they are less constricting for him than the zipper ones. His name is Cody.

You might check and see if you have a Carter's Outlet nearby. I buy a lot of jammies there dirt cheap.

If they don't mind gently worn jammies, you could probably post here. I have no doubt we would raid closets & storage boxes and smoother them in jammies. :goodvibes

JC Pennys has their PJS on sale now, 75% off then another 40% off. I remember seeing size 5, I am not sure if they went higher or not. Like little kid Carters ones were $3 after all the discounts.

Baby Gap also has their PJS on sale for $5-6 each with an extra 20 or 30% off.

Thank you all for your help and support. I really appreciate it and I know Cody's family does too. I will certainly check out the sales at JC Penney and the dollar store too. We do have a Carter's outlet about 30 minutes away. I'll have to check there too. Thanks guys.

Hi all! I just wanted to pipe in. I don't know if he will be in the hospital with an IV running, but if so, all of these PJ's aren't going to work. He will need an IV gown. I hope he is not, so he can enjoy the feel of some cozy jammies. My prayers are with the family.

I believe that the hospital has found a way to work around this. His grandmother, who is at the hospital as often as she can be, called and asked my mom if we could buy some pjs for him because he is going through so many of them. Thank you for your concern and for your prayers. :)

ETA: Cody had a shunt put in his collarbone so that the doctors can administer the medicine. He is only connected to the IV when he is getting medicine/treatments.

Costco usually has some of the traditional kind of pj's but also the cute cotton, very soft and cute, 2 piece sets.

Sears is having a HUGE clearance sale right now. I know I saw some really nice button up ones on clearance for around $5 for 3 pair. Might be worth a looksee!

Wow, everyone here is so wonderful. I'm going to go to Sears during my lunch tomorrow to see what they have on sale. We don't have a Cosco in Maine so I can't check into that. We'll be going to the hopsital this weekend and can go to the Children's Place, Carters and Target.

We would also love to contribute. My dd has been through 2 rounds of chemo so we know how hard it is on a family. Find out if they need anything else. It seems like you have plenty of offers for pjs. My prayers are with them.

Thank you. He gets cold from the chemo treatments, so like any type of zip up or button up sweatshirt or fleece would be nice. Something that's easy to put on. Also loose fitting sweatpants or knit pants. He could also use slipper type socks to keep his feet warm. Besides a blanket, I'm not sure what there could be to keep his little hands warm. Diapers and wipes are provided by the hospital, so those aren't needed. The reason why he goes through so many pjs/clothes is because the hospital gives him so much liquid during the day that it just leaks out of his diapers and soaks his clothes.

when dd was at shriner's hospital for surgery she was given a kid's size (about adult lap blanket size) fleece blanket that was great for staving on the cold but was'nt as bulky and heavy as a standard blanket. you could make one quite easily by purchasing a yard or so of fleece and doing a knotted boarder (i did several large ones for christmas and they are a breeze to make). to make it easier to keep over him you could always take it a step further and cut a head hole in it to make it pancho style which would'nt intrude with any iv's.

given the circumstances with his illness and need for the pj's you might give a call to the carter's outlet near you and ask for the manager-explain the situation and see if they might give you a better deal or even donate some p.j.'s (it's the time of year when they are clearing out the winter and holiday themed stuff to make room for the spring so they may be willing to give you stuff near cost).

My mom did make him one of those no sew fleece blankets and him and his mom cuddle up with it for comfort. His mom is with him all the time. I'll have to check and see if we can do a poncho type one. I will also inquire at Carters this weekend.

I didnt check out the PJ's at Childrens Place because we didn't need them but right now Childrens Place has their Monster Clearance Sale going on - additional 50% off all clearance items PLUS there is a printable for an additional 20% on top of that!

The Disney Store also has an additional 50% off ALL Clearance - I found some stuff to be as cheap as $2.50 for Tshirts - there were some PJ Pals in the $5 range too if I remember correctly.

Pixie Dust & prayers being sent his way

Thank you. We're planning on visiting Cody in the hospital on Sunday and plan to stop at the Children's Place and Carters along the way. I did find him a 2 piece pair of pjs at Sears. It has a button up top and Pooh and Tigger all over. It also came with Tigger slippers. The only kind of pjs he can't wear are the ones the zip. It gets in the way of tubes and IVs.
