Miracles do happen(Castaway club stuff)

After several phone calls and promises by DCL, today I finally got my Castaway Key pins(two sets) and a letter in the mail. I still have not recieved the quarterly magazine but I probably will get the next issue. I know this was an active thread a few weeks ago about past cruisers not getting their stuff. Just thought I would update you and let you know I have mine(We cruised last May)..smjj

Hey Scott, glad to hear you received your cc package. Wow, it took them forever to get that to you. Getting excited to go back on DCL and meet two families that cruised with us last year. Wish you and your wife were joining us too.

Hey, nice hearing from you again. Yes I wish we could join you and your on your cruise but we are going to WDW this Dec. and can't afford to do both. I have been spending a lot of time lately on the resorts board preparing for our trip and plan on going to the Dis Con2 convention if possible....smjj

What kind of "STUFF" do past cruisers get? We cruised, but have never gotten anything from it.... Are we supposed to get pins and magazines, too?

When do these pins supposedly arrive? I just received a package - it has my postcards (to give to first timers) and my card... but no pins! :mad:

Another Q - as the person that booked the cruise, am I the only one who should receive this package or should everyone in my party? (How about my 5 yo daughter?)

We received our package a few weeks after our first DCL cruise in Feb. 2000. It seems only one person in the group gets the package and since I was the one who made the reservations, was the contact person, credit card in my name, etc., they decided to send it to me (husband said just as well). The magazine is sent out twice a year...in the Spring and Fall. I talked to a DCL rep last week and she said the next issue is scheduled to go out in April.

As for the pins, they should have come with the package, which is just basically a letter, membership card, and two pins in a little folder. If you don't receive the pins, call and let them know.

And found out, if you have to change your name and/or address they send you a new card with the new name along with two more pins!

I just got my Club Packet in the mail yesterday from our cruise we took in January. I called about two weeks ago asking about it and it arrived today. Now that's what I call service.

Now for the not so good news.....I just got off the phone with the Castaway Club since I didn't receive any pins in my packet and was told that the pins have been discontinued. She wasn't sure if they were replacing them with something else or not. I was really looking forward to receiving the pins. Oh well guess this is part of the cutbacks.
