Hello ladies! Just got back from an over-night on the Cape to celebrate dd's bd (#9 on tuesday) and I got to go to this place:

http://www.colorfulcreations.net/

AWESOME store!!!! They have been at this new location for two years and what a beautiful store! It looks small from the front but it goes waaaaaaay back. The back area is a classroom and by the schedule it looked like they have a lot of great classes. Of course I don't retain much more than water these days so I can't remember everything that was there but it was all beautiful! :) Lots & lots of papers, rubber stamps and embellishments. And what I loved most of all were all the samples of pages and projects all over the place. There was even a notebook of WONDERFUL atcs! I loved all the mini books and I wish I could have remembered how to make them all. I didn't have my camera with me and I am not sure if they let you take pictures.

The two ladies who were working there were very friendly and helpful. Another customer found one of their samples (a mini album made with two shells for the covers - cool!) and asked if they had the supplies to make it. One of the ladies walked her around to find everything.

I could have spend ages in there just walking around and around, but I had dd with me and she got impatient after she picked her item (a puffy pen set) and I had dh & ds in the car waiting - we were on our way to check in at our hotel (The Cape Codder - GREAT!)

I do like my LSS, but I would LOVE it if I had that store close by!! (My Visa card would really get a work out!)

What did I get? Well, dd got her puffy pens, I got ds13 a tin to alter (he's into acrylic paints right now and just painted one of our ds lites)

For me:

* 3 of the really nice Memory Makers markers (marine, grass & cherry)
* 2 Deja Views sticker sheets Fresh Verse
* Cardboard pieces and accordian cardstock for mini albums
* Bo Bunny Dear Santa sticker sheet
* Sandy Lion vintage Mickey/Minnie sticker sheet
* Reminisce Die-Cut sticker sheet with Valentine type stickers
* 2 scalloped heart sheets
* 2 circle scalloped MM sheets
* Stamping Station Massachusetts sheet (it has the name of various Massachuetts towns written on it. Dd has a state project to do and this paper will be great for it)
* Two sheets of paper with Hyannis written in different fonts all over it.
* A pack of 100 blank atcs from Hampton Art
* Really cute mini license plates from Karen Foster (MA & FLA)
* Rubber stamp from catslife press - circular with Random Memory No. on it with 4 lines underneath to write on
* Reminisce sheet of self-adhesive MA maps & such (another good find for dd's project)
* EK Success pack of two Red Sox banners (again, good for dd's project)
* Red lobster die cuts small & medium - no name
* 7 Gypsies Beach Vacation kit - comes with a mini album and papers & other fun things - haven't opened it yet.
* KI Memories 4x4 turqoise mini album - too cute!
* American Art Stamp - lady holding a cup of coffee with mouse ears on her head and saying: "You're never too old to be young"

************************************************** **

So I guess all that qualifies me to *NOT* be on the ban wagon, eh? :rotfl:

Great place and I highly recommend it! I am already hoping to find a free weekend next month to go down again! :)

Where is it? I wonder if it's on the way to the cemetery where my Grandma is.... as long as it's not snowing I'll be visiting her next month.

The store is on Main Street in Hyannis - well worth a side trip to visit!!

The Cape Codder is also in Hyannis and it is the hotel with the wave pool and two water slides. It was busy this weekend due to the long holiday weekend so the pool was crowded but still fun. It is a GREAT place for kids as they have different activities going on.

Last night we were in the courtyard roasting marshmallows over the bonfire - altho it was more like incinerating marshmallows as there was no eating going on! They also had someone making balloon animals but the line was too long, there was a dance party we forgot about, and at 8:30 they were showing Shrek 3 downstairs but we decided to skip it.

Nearby is the mall and a few places to eat. It was too cold to go to the beach of course and we didn't venture too far out. There is also an AC Moore on the street the Cape Codder is on.

My kids are 8 & 13 and have been going to Disney since they were babies so they are used to staying at hotels and we enjoy doing it. I am hoping to plan an over-night a month or every other month for a while. If you are trying to avoid Cape traffic then I suggest going before summer!

The store is AWESOME...did I say that already??? :)

I've never driven to the cape, family has always brought me. She's at the MA National Cemetry in Bourne. Is that close by?

Been there, done that, can't wait to go back!!!

Anyhow, I showed REMARKABLE restraint the time I shopped there. I was actually SO overwhelmed, I couldn't really make any decisions. I ended up with four sheets of paper, two doodle templates...and maybe one stamp?? I need go back with more time, more money, and a plan!!!!!!!!!!.............P

Been there many a time. It's not far from my Mom's vacation home. Down the other end of Main Street is the Brazillian Grill. Great to have lunch or dinner, then go to Colorful Creations to walk off the meal.

Faerie, Bourne is down by the bridges going over the Cape. Hyannis is about 30 minutes from there.

Thanks Lisa. As long as there isn't S*now, I'll be heading to visit Grandma, so I wouldn't mind the extra ride (apparently her's buried on a hill and her grave is impossible to find in the white stuff)

I did visit that store earlier last year. It happened to be on the day of their yard sale and I was in heaven. DH was waiting patiently outside so I felt keeping him waiting and I couldn't explore as much as I would have liked. I'd love to go back when I had more time.

JESW,

Thank you I went there a few years ago when they were in a different location in Hyannis. We went down planning to stop there last summer to find that they were no longer at that location. I didn't know where they went or if they had closed. DD and I were pressed for time so we didn't have time to try and look for them that day. Then I forgot to look on-line for them. We will be visiting there again soon.
Thank you again. I have bookmarked there website.

My DH and I went there this summer when we went down there for a concert. I liked that they had so many MA specific papers and stuff. They also had a great clearance section. :)

Oh, I love that place! While vacationing on the cape last summer, I ended up going there 3 times! The people in there are always so nice. Is anyone here going to the Crop on the Cape in March? They are running it this year. We usually go, but we are going to go to the SDV in Burlington instead.

LOVE THAT place!!!

My oldest dd has been in a skating competition at the rink in Bourne....2 years ago we found the store by accident....last year we planned an entire afternoon around it!

There is also a "flea market" store at the end of the street...that has awesome deals on t's & sweatshirts...not too shabby quality either. I've had my sweatshirts from there for almost 3 years now & they're still in great shape.

Sadly, the competition has been moved to Burlington Vermont, this year...

but I'm still hopeful...she has 4 more years on the team...so we'll be back to the Cape sooner or later!!!

We're at the Cape a lot during the summer bringing our daughter back and forth to camp. I'm going to have to check this place out. Looks interesting.

Thanks for sharing the link with us. :)

My husband grew up in Taunton. I grew up in RI but we've been in Raynham since 1995. We love the area.

Yah, the snow is what's got us thinking we should go south when we're a bit older. ;)
