Mousesavers recommends booking through Central Reservations rather than WD Travel Company because better cancellation and payment terms.

When I called the CRO number and asked the terms (from a woman who said she was cross-training and could book through either CRO or WDTC), I was told the following:

CRO:
5 day prior to arrival cancellation for full refund
1 night (plus tax) deposit
Payment in full 30 days prior to arrival

WDTC:
5 day prior to arrival cancellation for full refund
$100 deposit
Payment in full 21 days prior to arrival

Sure sounds like WDTC is the better deal as these folks described it. Why do I feel they're not giving me the right info?

I think you need to ask again it's always been my understanding that CRO requires only the deposit to hold the room and you pay when you get there. I've just booked again and that is the way I'm seeing it. That's why CRO is the better deal.

It may have to do with what type of package you have or not if you have room only reservations. Last Nov. we had AP reservation thru CRO and paid 1 nights deposit-rest due at check-in. Right now I am holding DC reservation thru WDTC and it is $100 deposit with balance due 21 days before check-in.

I believe some CRO package reservations (grand plan, deluxe magic) have the 1 nights deposit and money is due xx of days before check-in but have never reserved one of them. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the info. I think I'll call back and see if I get different info. We were trying to book room only. Perhaps the person who was "cross-training" hadn't quite finished her training :)
