We stayed at Embassy Suites last year during PEAK season @ $165 night. Bedroom and Living room with kitchenette. Hot cooked breakfast, cooked to order omelets, meats, eggs, oatmeal, waffles.......evenings were snack food, soda, beer, wine and mixed drinks (weak but they are free ;) ).

I recommend Comfort Suites Maingate East. They offer a free breakfast (waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, breakfast meat, cereal, pastries, juice, coffee, etc.) We paid about $75 per night for this hotel when we stayed there last November. :thumbsup2
By the way, welcome to the DIS boards! :wave2:

I just reserved a suite at the Buena Vista Suites for the end of May and early June. With AAA some nights were cheaper than others (higher on the weekend), but for 10 nights, the rate averages to $102.28 per night which is not bad for that time of year. The first 8 nights are $88 per night and the last 2 nights are $144 per night. We may stay somewhere else the last two nights for less. Free hot breakfast and shuttle to the parks is included.

I just booked Marriott Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista. For our July 19-30 dates, a 2 bedroom/2 bath is normally $199 and I booked that rate on the Marriott site and then submitted a price guarantee claim since I found a lower rate (I think $189 and that rate includes tax) on www.hotelsrus.com. It is a UK site so be sure to specify US dollars. Marriott beats the lower rate found by 25% so the adjusted rate I got was $126 plus tax. If your family has younger kids, a family suite has a king sized bed, sofa sleeper and 2 twin beds (they said for ages 12 and under) in a nook. But it is all an open area (no doors). The adjusted rate for that room size would be $106.67. This property seems to have gotten very good recent reviews on Tripadvisor for their hot breakfast and they also have complimentary afternoon snacks weekdays except Fridays and some report a poolside BBQ on Thursdays. The initial thread that led me to find this deal mentioned a UK site called www.Hotelopia and they got the Country Inn and Suites on that site (normal rate is $110, I think?) and the UK site had the same room for around $40-50. Country Inns also has a price match policy but once they match it, they will charge your credit card for the full stay and also charge you $25 if it is cancelled. Marriott lets you cancel w/out penalty 3 days before check in.

We stayed at Hampton Inn with hot breakfast included for around $100 a night (military rate). We're a family of 5 and the room was huge! If you check out my link to my TR below, there are some pictures of our room and a brief review.

In my research of hotels, these ones seem to have decent reviews and offer free breakfast:
Buena Vista Suites - hot breakfast
Comfort Suites Maingate - with deluxe breakfast
Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista - with hot breakfast
Howard Johnson Inn Orlando International Drive with deluxe continental breakfast
Country Inn & Suites Universal free deluxe continential breakfast
Comfort suites Universal; free deluxe continental breakfast w/hot items
Now I can't personally review them, as Ive never stayed at any of them. But based on my research, the above are being reviewed fairly well and the price seems good for a budget conscience family.
Maybe if anyone has stayed at any of the above they can let us know how they are?

I cannot recommend highly enough Homewood Suites Universal. we have stayed 2 years running. In 2006 we paid $84 a night and last Dec we paid $104 a night (plus I had a free night on Hilton Honours). You get a very very nice 1 bed suite with 2 double beds. They are the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in also Saratoga Springs came close. Also have a lovely living room and kitchen. There is a lovely breakfast with loads of hot choice. Not on a par with the traditional English we get back home but really good. You could take it back to your room if you liked and so were even able to take lots of snacks tothe parks which saved time and money. Also Managers reception 4 nights a week with free food and drinks. There is also another Homewood further up Internation Drive that we stayed at in 2005 but last year they were doing a deal of $79 a night at the same time we were there but only had King rooms left.

Residence Inn at Seaworld. Just got back from there a couple weeks ago (our second stay there).
Great rates, zero depth pool and a pizza hut express about by the pool. The kids love it.
I think we paid $150 for a one bedroom suite during President's Week.

We stayed at the Galleria Palms this year and breakfast was pretty good. Not great, but good. Last year we stayed at the Comfort Suites Maingate East and they had a pretty good breakfast. Fresh made waffles, eggs, sausage, etc.

Homewood Suites on I Drive gets our vote. Unbeatable value and service with huge rooms. The breakfast selection is vast.

We stayed at the Spring Hill Suites in Marriott Village. They have a deluxe continental breakfast (normal continental w/ make your own waffles, biscuits and gravy, and fresh fruit). Fairfield Inn in Marriott Village also includes breakfast. The Courtyard does not include breakfast.

Try hotwire! We ended up with Hyatt Orlando/Universal for $43 a night for June and it includes continental breakfast which has cereal, oatmeal, fruits, yogurt, bagels, muffins, toast and english muffins, coffee, tea and juice.
Then u can order eggs and breakfast meats also for a small charge. The rooms are amazing with 2 double beds and a huge sleep couch and 42 in plasma TV! We also have a family of 5..

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has stayed recently...any construction going on?
Most reviews seem positive...a few negative...cannot make everyone happy.
Just your thoughts...will book very soon..great Florida rates right now.
Thanks..

There was some construction going on in the way way far away background out by the pool, they are buidling time shares or something, it was blocks away, but you could see it through the open field. Didn't bother us one single bit.
I'm can't answer about the shuttles as we had a rental car and just drove over to SeaWorld. Its really a nice hotel.

With a AAA card, you can get a room at the Marriott Courtyard Lake Buena Vista for $89 for a double or $109 for a junior suite (spacious living room & 2 double beds in the bedroom). Both rates include a hot breakfast (very good, I might add.) I stayed there this past May and was pleasantly pleased.

The Staybridge Suites in DTD has one but it was terrible. The only fruit was mealy apples. 3 types of cold cereal, super greasy bacon, eggs floating in yellow water, stale breads and such.
Loved the hotel hated the food.

We ended up staying at the Marriott Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista only one night, July 19-20. We spent the rest of our stay at Saratoga Springs on-site and my boys were actually saying they preferred the Marriott (since it was a 2 bedroom unit vs. the 1 bedroom we are staying in at Saratoga). The hot breakfast at the Marriott had alot of variety. They kept the coffee and one drink station (juice, lemonade, water, punch) open all day/night. Fresh cut fruit was one thing lacking from the breakfast. They had fresh fruit (bananas and oranges) but the other fruit was canned. There were many hot options such as scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, make it yourself Mickey waffles, etc.

We stayed at the Springhill Suites at Marriott Village Little Lake Bryan and loved it. The room and breakfast were very good. This was for a work trip in Jan 2006 with no Disney so I can't comment on proximity to the parks or shuttles.

We just booked the Quality Inn Lake Buena Vista for a couple nights in August of '08. It is located right outside of Disney World, it does have a free hot breakfast included and it is priced at $89.99 Standard Rate. Best yet it is a 1 bedroom suite with a living room and kitchen, I also have a family of five.

Buena Vista Suites would also be my recommendation ... great hot breakfast in the morning available, made to order omelets, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits and gravy as well as cereals, pastries, fruits, toast, bagels and donuts. It was perfect for our family. We stayed there in May of this year for 2 nights, room had LR with sofa bed and chair available, table with 2 chairs, frig, TV in LR. Bathroom area, with vanity sink and mirror outside the area with toilet and shower. BR had 2 comfortable queen sized beds available. Its very easy to get to and a short distance to WDW or SeaWorld ... I think we paid $89/night ...not sure what your dates are. We are looking to stay there again in December for an additional 2 nights that we added to an already booked DVC trip!
Hope this helps ...
