My mom told me a week ago that if me and my DF waited until May of '09 she would pay for a Disney Wedding. :worship: I hugged her for about 4 days straight.

I have looked on the disney wishbook, but i still have loads of qestions. I am most concerned the reception, the location, the food, just a whole bunch of stuf. If someone could help that would be awesome.

I'll post more questions later.

Since no one has posted any replies i though i would put a picture of the dress i picked out. Unfortunately, i can't figure out how to copy the darn thing from the seller's site.

here's the link ht tp://www .davincibridal.co m/pop_up.php?style=8220&action=a dd (without the spaces)

the dress comes in red too and they used that color in the picture to show off all the beading deatil. just try to imagine it in white :cloud9:

welcome welcome welcome!

to post pics, i think you need 10 posts...then you load the pic into photobucket or another photo hosting site and post it here!

ask us as many questions as you want...the wishbook is kind of confusing and not always right and gives you severly limited options...we're here to help!

my dress is davinci as well! i think i know which one you're talking about, it is beautiful! i love my dress, i ordered it off ebay for 1/2 price as well, which makes it even better!

happy planning, can't wait to read about your plans! your mom is super sweet for footing the disney bill! congratulations!!!

Hi,
I am having a DFTW VR on June 29th, 2009! Glad to see someone else planning for 2009! You have a great mom!!! I wouldn't stop hugging her.;) I can't wait to hear about your plans. Are you having a Wishes or Escape wedding? I would read through these boards because you get a ton more info than on the official Disney weddings site. What specific questions do you have?

I'm gonna have a Wishes wedding. I have been lurking for a while on other people's pj, and I decided last night that I should have one myself.

One question I do have though is about the different food you can have at the reception. I am a very picky eater and I don't really like the fancy stuff. Any suggestions?

Desnik
01-19-2008, 08:22 PM
I am a very picky eater too! I had started a thread to get ideas of what others had on their menus. Here's a link:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1677589

I have also been looking over the menus here:
http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/ftw/wdw/menus.html

I have heard that you can ask for whatever you want and you just might get lucky and they say they can provide it. I do know it does depend on what venue your reception is at as to how flexible the menu can be.

I had seen on other pj that they put up how they met their df, so here is mine

Josh and I met at church camp. We had both gone for several years, but I had never really noticed him. He had noticed me, though, and looked for me every year, but he had never really talked to me. :sad1: Finally, one year, he asked me to the banquet, and I said yes. :woohoo: I feel silly because I had to ask his name after I said yes. It was totally embarrassing! We went to banquet and had a great time. He was my best banquet date ever. I sat with him during chapel that evening, and I was really nervous. When he asked my out I thought he was just being nice to me, and if that was the case I didn't want to bug him. Boy was I wrong! There was only one day of camp left and I didn't know if I would see him again, but we were meant to be. The next week was another week of camp for younger kids, and we were both going to be dishwashers together. I was so excited. We spent the next week together just hanging out, and by the end of that week he had asked me out.:cloud9:

Engagement story to come soon...

OK, another question. My DF wants to use the Vintage Model A Ford for the wedding ceremony, and since this is the only thing he said he specifically wants, I am going to use it. I was wondering how much we would use it though. Where will it pick me up and Where will it drop us off? Will we still be able to use it after the reception?

So I have been working on who to invite to the wedding and problems are creeping up already. Along with our immediate familiy, we are inviting aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and families of cousins who are married. I just found out the other day that some of my mom's cousins want to come as well. This would be really awesome if my grandmother's(mom's mom) family wasn't the way they are. If I don't invite all of them someone is going to be offended, and I don't want that. I also don't want there to be about a bazillion people to come. I know most of them probably wouldn't be able to come, but I just don't want my "maybe" numbers up that high.

I'm gonna talk to my mom tomorrow and see what happens.

OMG! This sounds like my EXACT problem!! I completely understand your pain hun. Talk to your mom. I had to make DF talk to his mom about all these "need to invite" people on his side of the family. I finally set the rule that if I don't know their name or what they look like then they are not invited. Period. I put it to DF and FML like this: We will invite those that you would be willing to take out to a $100 a plate dinner. Your second-cousin-of-your-3rd-aunt-removed doesn't fall into that category? Didn't think so...not invited. LoL

Hey Sarah :)

Unfortunately, wedding guest lists are almost always a sore spot. You know, I wish someone would air a wedding ettiquette program for brides and grooms AS WELL AS guests. I can't stand it when as soon as someone knows that I'm engaged, that they say stuff like "I'm waiting for the invitation!" So rude and assuming :scared1: --how do you know I'm not just doing something very intimate with just our immediate families?? I have NEVER said that to someone, not even to a close friend or relative, because I don't know what their budget is, what their situation is, maybe they want to elope, maybe they only want their parents there, maybe their just doing a civil ceremony with no wedding festivities, etc.

You just have to stick to your guns with your guest list and figure out what your priorities are. If it's important to you to have your whole family there (these extended relatives you're talking about), then just cut back elsewhere on some things, like decor or choose less expensive food options. If what's most important to you is having certain lavish touches that must be there, then you're gonna have to be brutal with the guest list.

Or maybe if there are extended relatives that you have to invite, you could just invite one particular generation. That's what my DF and I are doing in many cases. Because otherwise, it would become so and so and their kids, and their grandkids, and then it's like, 'well, where does it end?' We would easily be at twice our guest count! I'm also doing that for many friends of the family as well as my extended family--many aunts and uncles will get invites, but not their kids/my cousins, unless they are young children or babies who can't stay home alone when their parents go out of town. Fortunately, the majority of them are much older so this is seldom the case. But if their kids are in their 20s or 30s, I'm not inviting them, unless they are extremely close to us, as in we hang out a lot, we spend a lot of time together. If it's a cousin I'm not close to at all and that I see every 6 years or so, I'm not inviting them. Sounds brutal, but with a guest count of 300, I have to be because it's important to me to get what WE want for our wedding too.

If anyone says anything, you can simply, in a nice manner say that you had to stick to a certain number for the hall you chose and you're already over that number (it's not like it's really a lie! ;) )

Be aware that it's common to make enemies through your wedding by leaving certain people off the list. You just have to be alright with that and tell yourself that if someone can't understand your budget concerns or your wishes for an intimate affair, they're just being petty and selfish.

So good luck, and keep us posted!

Invite who you and your DF REALLY want. Forget about everybody else. I know that sounds easier than it is but I went through too much drama with my engagement party and tried to make everybody else happy and invite everybody in the family and the people who made the biggest deal didn't even show up! Yes, you might make some enemies, but those are probably the people that you aren't even that close to to begin with. Just tell people that you were only planning on inviting people who you are really close to. People seem to receive that well.

I knew he was going to ask; I just had no idea how. It was his birthday and he asked me to "suprise" him with a birthday dinner. The suprise was supposed to be the place I took him. I planned this really romantic candle light dinner for the both of us. Dinner was great, but still no proposal. :sad1: We watched TV and played a board game, and I was beginning to get a littledisappointed that he hadn't asked. He asked me to walk him out to his car and I did. It was a little cold outside, so I put on pajama bottoms under this nice new dress i bought, put on a tinkerbell hoodie, and tennis shoes. I looked pretty funny to say the least. :rotfl: We got outside and started talking. He said he had something for me. He pulled out a little box, got down on one knee, opened said box, and asked. :cloud9: It was the most wonderful feeling ever.

the minimum for a wishes wedding is $10,000. this can include location, food, and/or floral costs. i'm not sure about the escape or couture weddings.

DF and I decided that we're gonna try to still have the DFTW even if not much of his family can make it. this is our day. we're not gonna let it get ruined.

on a happier note. I got a call from disney today!!! :tinker: bring on the magic! my mom called the other day, and they were just calling back to get more information. i got to talk to Kristi Davis for about 15 minutes about any questions she had or i had. its so cool. i have a wedding consultant now!

she suggested the american lounge ( on the 3rd floor), or the lounge in norway. she is gonna send me pictures to my email, and she is also gonna send me an information packet in the mail. i can't wait until they arrive. :woohoo:

Thats so exciting you got your 'first call'! The info packet is really neat. I remember getting a sample of the save the date, a large printout photo of our location, all the photgraphy/videography info, and some other pretty neat stuff. Its really exciting! The next few months to your '1 year' mark are going to fly by! Enjoy every moment and tell us about everything! :)

Just catching up on your PJ. I'm glad you are still going ahead with the DFTW!! Don't let others ruin your special day!! Now about the site you picked, it's just beautiful!!! I love it. Thanks so much for posting the pics because I couldn't find pictures of that room anywhere! I had been looking because we really loved the other American Adventure location but don't have enough people. This is the American Adventure Parlor room right? Were you given any other details about it? Like max amount of people, is there a certain time you have to have the reception in the room?

After reading your PJ, and other 2009 brides PJ's I really need to call DFTW!! I thought I had to wait to place a call, but I see so many others are way ahead of things than I am!!

Thanks for the support, and yes, this is the American Adventure Parlor. During the phone call, she asked about how many I was planning to have and I told her about 35-40. She suggested this room and the Norway Parlor. I'm thinking that the max for the AAP is 50, but don't take my word for it. She also told me that the sitting area would be used for the pre-reception. About times...she said I would probably have a 2:30 wedding, so that would put the reception in the evening. I hope that helped.

Thank you ! It did help. We really like the idea of having our ceremony at the WP, followed by the pre reception at the WH patio, then reception at the WH room, then an Illuminations DP. However, I would love to have our VR in Epcot since it is our favorite park! I just thought we would have to have it at a certain time. I would like to have our ceremony at 2:30 also. Where will you have your ceremony? Oh, one more question, I hope you don't mind! Where is the bathroom for the AA Parlor? I read here somewhere that the guests would have to share with park guests in the American Adventure.

nothing else new to report...things seemed to have slowed down a bit...any suggestions as to anything i could do next?

On Jnale's PJ she had a great idea of instead of using #'s for the tables she will use Disney characters for table names. You could make those. Have you thought about favors? You could make something for that. How about designing what you want your welcome letters or itineraries to look like?

I love the naming tables idea! I think I have the perfect idea too. Since my theme is Cinderella the table names could be : Jaq Table, Gus Gus Table, Suzy Mouse table, Fairy Godmother Table, and The Glass Slipper Table! I even found some nice Lenox figurines to use too. :) i'll post pics when i have some more time, but right now i have some homework to get done for class tomorrow morning.

Hi WVTinkgirl and all other 2009 brides!

I see that I am way behind many of the rest of you, since it seems like you have all called and gotten planners already! I asked to receive info in the mail, but it hasn't arrived yet :guilty: . I'm sure it will get here soon, though :thumbsup2 .

Those of you that called FTW, did you just call up out of the blue and ask to talk to someone, or how did you go about doing this. I know that sounds stupid, but the phone is not really my thing. I don't like talking on it, and I really don't like calling people I don't know. :confused3 .

The AA reception site looks beautiful, but I wouldn't want to share a bathroom with the rest of the park either. Surely they have a better arrangement?

As for what else to do in your planning, I have no ideas for you. I have actually been trying to figure that out myself!

ETA: Love your ideas for table names! So cute!

So cute!

OMG, I am exactly like you! The phone is not my thing and I haven't called DFTW either. Don't worry about being behind. I felt the same way too, but I'm trying to get myself to just call already!

There is no bathroom inside the American Adventure... to use the rest room you must exit the entire building and it is to the left (if you are outside facing the American Adventure) and it is a standard Disney bathroom that any other day guests will have acess to it... man am I worried about having to pee LOL! :goodvibes

I asked Pam Pearce about this because I was worried about my guests using the bathroom after a full day of Epcot guests! Plus I didn't want to have to go out there myself. She says there is a small bathroom somewhere inside, I think on the upper level, that I (or the groom & some other close ones) could use. She said they could also request an extra cleaning for the outside one at the end of the day so it wouldn't be a disaster by the time the reception started.

I went in there one evening when I was down there in October to check it out and it was a mess!!:scared1:

That's what I did... I was super nervous too (don't know why, but my voice gets really squeaky when I'm on the phone with people I don't know.) The girl that answered the phone was super sweet, asked me a few questions, took down my information, and then had my coordinator call me back a few days later. They really are very sweet, don't be nervous! :)

My mom actually made the first call for me. She did it while I wasn't home though. :sad1: I was home for when they called back and it was very exciting. :woohoo: She said she was gonna send an info packet, but I haven't gotten it yet. I make sure to check the mailbox everyday now in hopes that it will have arrived.

I feel so much better knowing that there will be a special bathroom I could use, and I think I might try to have the bathroom cleaned as well. I don't like nasty bathrooms. :crazy2:

And thanks to all who complimented on the table names. I do have to admit that some of it was my mom's idea. She gives me lots of suggestions for different things.

We solved this problem easily haha. I know everyone wants their families to be there for them, but my fmaily is huge and there's no way I could invite all of them and DF family is small. There would probable be people from both familes wanting to stay and "hang out" the majority of the time we're there.. so yea.. not on the honeymoon. So we decided to do it with just the 2 of us, then have a dinner/reception when we get home.

As great as families are, they can sure be pains haha

I emailed STVS and Misty Miotto the other day and I got responses from both of them. STVS sent a dvd with the different styles they can do and DF and I both liked the classic style. We didn't particularly like any of the special effects ( the bird release, the fake castle picture in the WP, the story book ). We decided they just looked too fake or too cheesy.

My mom decided that she was going to try to get me to use Randy instead of Misty. She kept saying that their styles were alike and that Randy was cheaper, but there was just something I really liked about Misty's photos. So I put my foot down. I win. :cool1:

So far both have my date open, but I haven't put any deposits down yet. I need to get on that soon...

I just found your PJ. It looks like we will be getting married around the same time so we will have to stay in touch. (05/14/09) I know how it feels when you don't have anything to do but I'm trying!!! I ordered my tiara online and made some invitations to send to my bridesmaids. That made me feel like I was getting something done.

The guest list deal is so ridiculous!! My fiance wants to invite friends I haven't even met!! I just don't know if I want to spent $$$ on people I haven't even met.

I have called and talked to a wedding consultant, but you can't officially book anything until 12 months. I'm planning on calling at 8 in the morning on May 14 2008 just to be sure that I can get the locations I want. At this point in my planning, I'm just trying to decide on the big picture stuff like venues.

I'll worry about details later, probably during the summer when I have time.:rotfl:

I got the video from STVS too and DH and I weren't too impressed. Caryn used Star Fruit productions and you have to take a look at their website. DH and I fell in love with their editing! Our issue was that STVS shoots in high Def and can give us the video on Blu Ray disk. When I contacted Star Fruit they said they will start shooting in high def later this year so they "should" offer it by the time our VR rolls around. I also like Misty Miotto even though it seems everyone uses Randy. I agree, there is just something about Misty's photos!

Wow! It has been a really long time since I updated my pj. So much has happened since my last post. There is no way I can do a full story post right now, so here is the first day of my three day trip.

My short trip to Disney was so much fun. My mom and I got to Orlando airport around 9am on Wednesday and we got to ride the magical express for the first time. It was really nice not having to go pick up luggage. We stayed at Pop Century in the Mickey Phone building. I love how pop is set up. All the rooms aren't really that far from the main building. Anyway, me and mom got to our room and hung out for a while until about 10, then we started our way over the Grand Floridian to get to Franks. It was so pretty in there. There were a couple of cakes in the windows near the front and sample tables near the back. I met my wedding consultant, Kristi, and she was so nice. We took a tour of the wedding pavilion and the White Hall and patio that is right outside. It was perfect for the reception, but it was booked for the day of my wedding! :scared: But it all worked out in the end, we just moved the date from Thursday to Wednesday, so instead of May 14 it is now May 13. It was great to be able to meet the Disney wedding people and get some stuff done. I now have the venues tentatively reserved. I even got a letter in the mail yesterday saying so.
After the appointment we went to Downtown Disney to look around. We ate at Wolfgang Puck express. We went back to the room and while mom took a nap I decided to head to the pool and enjoy the sun. :sunny: I went back to room after about an hour and got cleaned up, woke mom up and we headed over to the campground for Hoop-De-Doo that we were seeing with my cousin and his then girlfriend. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen. The guy who played Sixpence was cracking up the rest of the cast and that just made it even funnier. After the show we headed back to pop and had a wonderful night's sleep for the next day.

The other day DF and I went on a 2 hour drive to go pick up a bridesmaid dress I will be wearing in September for a friend's wedding, and on the way we decided that it would be nice to have a piano play during the reception. We won't be having dancing or anything, so it will just be nice background music.:)

EDIT
I almost forgot to mention that DF and I just celebrated 4 years of being together yesterday. Go us!

Even though I still have 11 months left until the wedding, I already found the perfect dress! I found it at the place where I had found the first dress I liked. The boutique likes to put dresses in the windows and whenever I drive by I always look to see what they have. I drove by about a month and a half ago and saw the dress. I went to go see my mom and I told her that I would like to go look at it and maybe try it on. We got to the shop and it was even more gorgeous up close. I tried it on and it was just amazing. I liked it so much better than the first one I had picked out. The material was a lot lighter, and the dress didn't overwhelm me as much. I ended up buying it that day and I already have it paid off. It was kinda funny though because when they went to get my measurements, I needed the smallest size and then they were still going to have to take it in around my bust and my waist. They didn't say anything about my butt, so I guess that means my butt is proportionately large for my size.:rotfl:

Hopefully I will be able to get some pics of me in the dress whenever I go for my first fitting.

My FFIL leads a church missionary group to Guyana, South America about twice every year, and he is leaving tomorrow. The good thing about his trip, is that gold is pretty cheap there and he will be buying the wedding bands while there. I had to go with DF to have him get his finger sized and he ended up being an 11; I am getting a size 5 even though I usually wear a 4 1/2. I know, my fingers are tiny. :upsidedow FFIL said that $250 should cover it; I think(hope) he was meaning both rings.

Oh, I almost forgot. I might be changing my wedding date to June 25th. It would make it so much easier on all of our aunts and uncles who have kids still in school. By June 25, school will be over. It is a thursday too! I really hope this works out because its our anniversary too. On June 25, 2009, Josh and I will have been together 5 years.:lovestruc

This is Sarah's Mom. I thought I would update since she and Joshua are with his family at the beach. I know she would want me too. Well, she wasn't sure where she could hold the reception now that they have changed the date. Well, Kristi e-mailed her back. Sarah had me check her e-mail and I read her the choices: Napa Room at the California Grill or Ariel's. Sarah and I discussed both choices. Since she really wanted to see Wishes, we (actually She) decided on the Napa Room. She had me e-mail Kristi back so now we are waiting to see if we can get confirmation.

Now the question. Has anyone had their reception at the Napa Room or eaten at the California Grill? We are limited to what is on the menu. The menu doesn't look bad. Any suggestions would be great. Sarah and Joshua are both picky eaters so I know they'll have something with chicken. Hopefully the rest of us can eat in style. LOL

ALso, Sarah has adopted a kitten. It's a grey tabby kitten about 3 1/2 months old. Guess who is babysitting while its "MOM" and "Dad" are at the beach? Is this a sign of things to come?

I'll let her tell more about the kitten she's adopted. By the way, his name is Romeo and yes he's a lover.

Sarah should be back on Thursday and ready to update again.

Hello all!

I am currently still at the beach and am still wet from swimming in the pool! I am here with Josh and his family and it has been a blast. I got to go to 2 Disney stores while I was down here, but was disappointed with both of them(they were full of hannah montanah and camp rock stuff). They did have some pretty cool Wall-e things though.

Back to wedding stuff; I got to read the e-mails my consultant sent me. The first had both my choices and pics for both rooms. I would be happy with either location. If I chose the Napa room, we would see Wishes, and If I choose Ariel's, we would see Illuminations. So either way works out pretty well. I think that the deciding factor will be the menu. Like my mom mentioned, I am a picky eater. Josh will eat more that I will though. With me, It's just that I don't really like fancy food. I'm pretty plain when it comes to food, so we will have to see how everything works out.

When I get back I will try to post a pic of me and DH at the beach:cool2: .

Hi Sarah!! I just got caught up on your PJ and I think I can answer some of your questions from a while ago and recently. I can because I am doing similar things for my wedding! :rotfl2:

For the Model T: It will pick you up at the GF and take you to the WP and then it stays and you do your "fake" exit with it and then it will bring you back to WP for your pictures. Then, when all your pictures are done it will take you and DF to your reception. Which leads me to....

Napa Room: I am having my reception there as well and since I am getting married at night and if you are as well you will see Wishes during your reception. Wishes should be somewhere between 9-9:30pm although it might be earlier for you since you are June and I am December. Check with Kristi she will know for sure. The food there is delicious!!!!! :lovestruc It is some of the best food at Disny in MHO. There is several menus for you to choose from with the cheapest at $80/pp to $120/pp and you can mix and match between them. Yes they have a baked chicken, a beef tenderloin and usually a fish dish (varies by menu choice). i.e. on the $120 its lobster. Ask Kristi to send you the menus or you can check our Magikalkingdoms.com.

On another note your dress is beautiful! I love your choice for BM dresses as well, very simple and elegant! Oh Congrats on the kitten! You have to post some pics!!

I hope that helps you out a little! :goodvibes

:goodvibes
Thanks for the info on the Model T; it's one of DF's favorite parts of the day.:rotfl: DF and I decided just yesterday to use the Napa room. The decision was driving me crazy until we decided which location to pick.

Looking forward to an update and a picture of your sweet Romeo! :cat:
As promised here is the pic of my little Romeo!

So I am new to all of this but your dress is gorgeous!! Did you end up getting your date and all?? We are getting married like two weeks after you ! It's sooo stressful waiting for that confirmation you have the date and location!

-question- how were you finally able to post pics? I am trying to post some of my dress but don't know how!!
Thank you! We did get the new date, and that is so exciting that we are getting married two weeks apart! I was able to post pics after I had made 10 posts. HTH!

Today was such a good day!

First thing, I was able to make an appointment at the dress shop to go check out my dress. I tried it on and it fit almost perfectly. I don't think that it will even have to have a lot of alterations.

Second, my grandma, who went with me to look at my dress and who also does floral, decided that we should head over to Crafts 2000, a craft superstore (if you couldn't tell from the name:rotfl: ). Well, we went to go look at all of the silk flowers and wouldn't you know it. She bought all the flowers to do my bouquet, my 3 bridesmaid bouquets, and 5 corsages. I'm using 12 full blowns roses in mine, 6 in the bridesmaids, and one in each corsage. We also found some really pretty sparkly stuff that was out for Christmas but decided that it would look much prettier in my flowers. I would post pics but I'm at my grandma's and there is no camera here! But I promise as soon as I get some pics I will post.

Thirdly, while in Crafts 2000 I found the perfect guest book, pen holder, unity candle holder, and garter. :cool1: They are all a matching set of fairytale/Cinderella. While it's not officially cinderella, it it a horse drawn carriage heading toward a castle in the distance. As with the flowers, I will get pics up as soon as I can.

It has been about 10 days since I received the 4 starter e-mails that I have to send to my coordinator to start up my contract. It just seems like it is taking me forever to get everything done.:guilty: I think the hardest part is the room block. I almost have all of the addresses ready and the basic information for the contract ready, but the room block has me stumped and frustrated.
How am I supposed to know how many rooms I will need to reserve at which resorts if I don't even know who will come for sure? My mom, grandma, and fmil all tell me people who they think will come. Should I just keep track of who will come or not come, should I contact all of my family and future in-laws myself, or could I just guess on the high side for numbers for my room block.
My other thing is the website that Disney provides. I don't think that I will be using it very much because I'm not really planning any events there except for the wedding. No get togethers before the wedding or anything, and if I do plan something, it will probably be in a welcome bag itenerary I will provide.
School has also started and I am taking 18 credit hours this semester and working, and my grades really, really need to be good this time for my GPA. I am beginning to feel a little overwhelmed with everything, and I just would like some input everyone on the disboards about everything.

that felt good to get everything out in writing.:)

Don't worry! You can make it! Theres always a little extra energy left for wedding stuff at the end of the day!
I was also working full time and going to school full time.. getting wedding stuff together.. and signing the contract for our new house in the months leading up to our wedding.

So I know it can be done! Just think of the end!

I didn't really use me website either.. in fact.. I don't think most of my guests new we had it! I just sent out letters and made a welcome bag itinerary.
The room block is also pretty simple... but if you have extra rooms at one resort.. you can switch them around if you need to later on. I had to. I put most of my rooms at the All-Star (because I figured everyone would try and be cheap) but everyone (except my cheapo FIL;) )Went for the moderates.. So I ended up switching alot of rooms around! There is no way to know how many rooms you need, just fill in your required.. and work from there.

You can do it! Plus.. a Disney Wedding is worth all the headache it takes to get there!!!!

irisbud

You can do it! The end result will be fabulous! I just finished my BA doing an overload every semester and working full time, so I know how stressful that can be! You will get through it, though. Think on the bright side, since you are so busy, the time will really fly by!

One great thing on the website is you can do a link to your Disney Honeymoon Registry. This was maining used when my girls gave me my shower but people are still adding to it. This will give us a great amount of money to use on our honeymoon for all the meals we want and all the tours we want to do.

Wow! So a lot has happened since I last updated.

DF and I are in the final process of buying a house. I can't wait until everything if finalized so that I can start working on it. I'll try to post pics whenever I can.

I finished the room block and sent everything in early last week and I got my contract yesterday! I was so excited when I found it in my email. :woohoo: My mom freaked out a little when she read that we had to use 53 out of the 66 rooms that we reserved. I think it will be fine though, but just in case...does anybody know how long it would take to make a change to the room block in the contract? If I do have to change it, I don't want to have to wait another week to finish signing everything.

On a lighter note, I finally got my save the date postcards finished, complete with clear printing labels that look very snazy. My birthday was last wednesday, and since my aunt hadn't gotten me a gift yet, I just asked her for about 50 post card stamps. :rotfl: Those little suckers can sure add up fast!

DF and I went out to his grandparents farm on monday with his mom. We were heading out to his great-grandmother's old house to look at using the cabinets in our new house. While at the farm, his mom took some engagement photos. I hope to put those up sometime next week.

I think that is all the wedding stuff I've done since last post. Oh, I almost forgot, DH and I booked our honeymoon the other day. It was so nifty!:lovestruc

We got our wedding planner today!! :cheer2:

Our wedding coordinator, Kristi, called earlier to tell us that they had received the contract and everything was moving along smoothly, and right after I got off the phone with Kristi, my planner called to introduce herself. I was assigned Karen, and she let me know that I would be working with her and her assistant Brandy as well. We went over some basic information about the wedding. We aren't having dancing or a bar. (Our families don't drink for religious reasons.) I also let her know that we are hoping to stay within our budget at around the $10,000 mark. I'm hoping she will really try to work on this with us because my mom is working her butt of right now to try to save up for the wedding. I don't want my mom to have to worry about me going over the budget. :scared:

We also talked about how important it was for us to be able to watch the fireworks show at the end of the reception, and since there won't be dancing, the reception won't really last a long time. So it could be a problem if the fireworks are at 10 and not 9. Cross your fingers for me!

I finally made it back home from class. I forgot to turn my light off in my car, so when I went to go start it after class, it wouldn't start. The plus side was that I got to have DF come rescue me.:woohoo: Then we had dinner and went to walmart and I bought a wedding notebook planner thing. It's from Martha Stewart, and walmart also had her new line of wedding supplies that included invites, response cards, name cards, some decorations, and favor things. I am thinking about using some of them because they really didn't cost all that much.

I have also had some drama. It started off with supposedly "good" news, some more of his family was going to be able to come; the bad news: they own a timeshare right off of Disney property, and all of DF's dad's side of the family is going to be staying in it. And I find this out AFTER I have signed the contract which had the room block in it! I am freaking out! That is about 28 to 35 nights in my roomblock that I won't use now. The only good thing I can think of is that I have 1 family I didn't account for in the room block, and with the buy 4 get 3 discount, some families might be staying longer than we thought they would.

My family leaves for Disney in 1 1/2 weeks!!! I can't wait. DF will be arriving on the 29th for the planning session and will get to spend new years with us. It is our first trip together and I can't think of a better place to be together. There are so many things that I want to show and do with him. The 4 days we are there won't be enough!:headache: oh well, atleast he gets to come! :cool1:

I think that about sums up everything so far.

I have left you all waiting long enough! Here is it; the beginning of my planning session trip report. This was a vary long trip, a little over two weeks, so it might take a while to get everything posted.

And now! On with the Show!

A little pre-trip info: my mom and I both had to go the doctor a couple of days before we were to leave, and we both had to go on antibiotics!:crazy2:

Here is a list of everyone who came on the trip: Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Uncle Rob, Aunt DJ, Kayla(my cousin), and of course ME! My other cousin, Ryan, who works at Disney, also stayed with us; my sister, Suzanne, flew in on the 23rd, and DF, Joshua, flew in on the 29th. Now if this sounds like a lot of people, it is. lol! My grandparents own an RV and small trailer and we stay at the campground. It can be crazy at times, especially with finding places to sleep, but we all love being able to stay together and have "homecooked" food.

We all left my grandparents on Friday around noon and were able to make it to Disney Saturday evening. Here are some pictures of the drive onto Disney property.

Aunt DJ then handed out some gum, and since I wanted to be a good little Disser and have a thorough TR, I took a pic.

Once we got there, we had to unload the trailer so that it was light enough for us to move by hand. It took forever to set everything up that evening and it got dark way to fast, but we got mostly everything done. We decided to finish the next day when it was lighter. Needless to say, we all slept really well that night.:cloud9:

O.k. Since Sarah doesn't seem to be anywhere around...I'll give everyone an update on the wedding. The wedding is scheduled for Thursday the 25th at 5:00 in the Wedding Pavilion. The reception is at the Napa Room/Contemporary Resort. Everyone is very busy with last minute preparations, what to wear, shoes, tuxes, dresses, packing, finding more money....:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I'm sure it will all come together and be a wonderful and joyous event. Please pray for Sarah and Joshua as they begin their new life together.

Love ya, Sarah!!!

ok, this is Sarah's mom with an update. She is getting really nervous and stressed. (is it okay if i kill the bride? naaah) We will be heading to Florida tomorrow at noon. I'm told "Sharp" . Sarah will be leaving on Sunday with Joshua. We are all still getting things done. Sarah got her programs done last night. She called me while i was at work last night (I work 7P to 7A at our local hospital) She said she couldn't sleep and was thinking about things. So I got her calmed down and then she said she was going to bed.
If I don't get back on here again, I want to thank any and all who read this journal. I have learned so much from this website from all the disney brides. This was where I started my search to see if I could afford this for Sarah. So after many hours of overtime at the hospital, I'm hoping to give her the wedding of her dreams. She's a special daughter (yeah, although I would like to strangle her at time's during this process):) So again thanks for letting me read your journals and finding out I could do this as a single mom.

Hello everyone!!! I am so sorry that I haven't updated my journal, life just seems to get in the way sometimes. I am here at disney right now. I'm actually in disney quest at one of their computers! The rehearsal is tomorrow morning and I have almost everything done. I really think that I am going to pull this thing off. Wish me luck and I will try to do a trip report later!

Thanks to everyone who recommended him. pm me if you need username and password. Sarah & Joshua are at Disney enjoying their honeymoon. I know she'll update everyone later.

I was at Cali Grill on 6/25 and I saw a gorgeous wedding, with the most fabulous cake (my dad loved it!) and I thought I'd check on here and see if the bride was a Dis bride. I think it was your wedding and I just wanted to say everyone looked like they were having a great time and it all looked beautiful! Congratulations!

That's us! Wow! Everyone did seem thrilled at being there. I would greatly recommend Cali Grill for a reception. The food was fantastic! The view was great and of course the fireworks were a nice close to the evening.
