How to use a code when using a Travel Agent?

I'm confused by the codes obtained by calling Disney. Does it make sense to call to find out if I have a code next to my name if I already have reservation through a travel agency? Can the TA apply the code or do you have to make the reservation directly with Disney Travel? Thanks.

According to the email I received it states "call a disney expert or your travel agent"- either one that you call in order to receive the discount the pin has to be given. If you dont have a code, you can always ask your travel agent to search for any deals that are out there.

After a bit of wrangling, my AAA agent was able to apply my 40% PIN code to my reservation, and even to change the resort in doing so.

I'm pretty sure that if you have an Agent make your reservations, only he or she can actually make changes to it, not you.

But Disney CAN tell you whether or not there's a code attached to your name; you can then forward this info to your travel agent.
