Dress Pics Are In Here! :rolleyes1
Ok..I give in. I've been around here off and on since June:surfweb: and I'm going to start my PJ finally LoL.:yay: I'm terribly slow about updating, so just bear with me. :rolleyes1 I have SO many ideas...and maybe putting them all here will help out. I think of things then forget them since I have no where to gather all of my ideas.
Here is our story:
DF and I met at a coffee shop.....No....thats a lie. Thats what we tell people. The funny truth is we met online. :surfweb:= :lovestruc DF is a HUGE Florida Gator fan and I could tell this before I ever spoke to him from his pictures. So I sent him an email that said "I hate the Gators but..." in the subject line and the body simply said "....you're just too cute to pass up."
And from there the rest is history as they say. :3dglasses
We started dating on 6/9/06 and were in love very quickly. Its so strange, but its true...when its THE ONE...you just know. We are so madly in love we make most of our friends sick lol. After a few months of me pestering him relentlessly (yes...I was one of THOSE  ) he proposed on 5/18/07. Now..he didnt propose because he knew I wanted him too...I found out he had picked this date AND the ring to propose months before the idea had ever popped in my head. Turns out we were on the same wavelength the whole time!
The proposal story is really sweet, here are the basics:
His parents started dating, were engaged, and married on the 18th, so the date (not the month..just the date) was very important to him..his parents have a wonderful long marriage that we look up to. The place, Key West, FL, was even more important. We are both originally from the Florida Keys. Me from Key Largo, though I spent a lot of time in Key West, and his family actually was one of the original families to found Key West ages and ages ago. We both love our history that is tied with the islands, and it is a special place for us. So on the morning of the 18th, on the balcony of our cruise ship, with the sun just peering out over the island..an early 6:30am, he got down on one knee. We both cried and cried and then spent the day exploring the island and his family history. (His ancestors names can be found on the church doors on Duval St, all in the old cemetary, and several other places in Key West...a LOT of heritage there)
The very next day, as we were floating in the waters of Mexico, we decided that only a Disney wedding would do. We are both HUGE Disney nuts. I used to be a CM, grew up with the parks being my daycare. (I literally spent 5 days a week, every week, in the parks growing up) and DF spent year after year with his family at WDW. A DFTW was just a given.
Fast forward to now... We have our date/time confirmed for the ceremony and reception. We even have our honeymoon booked. So I'll update this over the next couple of days/weeks with pics and all the ideas I already have. :) Hope you guys enjoy reading! :upsidedow
Oh..and PS~ I'm now a HUGE Gator fan myself! :rotfl:

Hi! I can't wait to read all your plans! I love the story of your proposal. I know what you mean when you say when you meet "the one" you just know. I knew the minute I met DH he was the man I was going to marry! This Feb. 6th makes 14 years together and in July we will be married 11 years! We are planning our DFTW Wishes vow renewal for June 2009 so I will be reading your PJ for some ideas! Can't wait to see pics and hear all about your plans!

I like the jellyroll idea. I like renting it out even more for just you and your family. That's really fun! My DF wants an epcot ceremony (not that that has been decided on yet) and since those are early in the morning we could have a lunch reception that would cost less. I also want a DP but was wondering what to do from say, 2pm to 830pm so I like your idea.

We love Jellyrolls and are hoping to incorporate it into a wedding trip somewhere for everyone, although probably not on the day of the wedding, unless everyone is still ready for more action and we can make an impromptu visit!
We are going to be staying at the Boardwalk for a few days around the wedding, which will be handy if we do decide to do a Jellyrolls outing, we can go and get changed into something more comfortable! :thumbsup2

I love your proposal story. My DH & met online too in 2003. At first I was embarrased to tell people we'd met online also because so many people have negative reactions to it and think it's wierd, but after a while, I was like...who cares. I love this man and obviously things worked out wonderfully so who cares what anyone else things.
I still remember the first time I told my grandmother (who I've lived with all my life) that I had met someone online. She freaked big time and it's so funny now, but I remember telling her that night..."it's not like I plan to marry him or anything." We still laugh about that to this day.
We talked online and on the phone for a little over a week before deciding to meet each other and we hit it off very quickly. We dated for a little over a year before he popped the question in the same spot we first met in person and then about 9 months later, we got married. Now we are working on our 4th year of marriage & are very happy.
I wish you the best with all your planning & hope it's everything you dream of!

Thank you so much for your comments! :goodvibes
I think its funny how people can judge couples that met online. I still don't think some people know the truth. Its a funny story to us, but we love to use the "coffee shop" thing...its just sounds so "quaint" lol.:flower3: "oh..we fell in love at a coffee shop.." lol.
And Allie...I laughed so hard at the "Its not like I plan to marry him or anything" LoL!!:rotfl2:
So...here's my drama for the day (I'm usually not a "drama bride"...but I have to have a little here or there :scared1: )
I have a pretty good job right now that serves our income well (DF and I live together). Trouble is, I HATE, and I do mean H-A-T-E my boss  (she's not mean, just VERY STUPID..which is worse!) and the job has me getting home late at night. DF and I both agree getting home when he gets home would be SO much nicer (ie, 5pm). So I've been looking into options around where I live, like the school system or banking. Anyways, bottom line...I'm leaving my job in a few weeks (its in sales, so I'm not telling my boss until I HAVE to, because in sales, once you're going to quit, they just get rid of you..don't like paying anymore commission than they have to...blech:headache: ) and its going to reduce our income a bit. (I'll be making 25% less $) So here's my drama...YES we can afford to do this, YES this will make me, and thus HE very happy lol, and YES it is a smart move.....but I just hate leaving that income!! It means not as much extra $ for little wedding stuff :( So basically I'm whining on here, in the privacy of my own PJ (lol), because I need some reassuring that its going to be ok. :confused3 :grouphug:
Ok..done being a girl lol.

Everything will be alright :)
Although you wouldn't make as much money, I would definitely look into the school system. I'm not too sure about Ocala but in Miami Dade things are getting better for teachers. It's great to have set hours and summer vacation.

Sounds like you can use a hug  Don't worry. Everything will work out. You'll see. I'm not sure what you mean exactly when you say "the little wedding stuff" but I'm sure you can do a lot of stuff yourself that will save you money.
p.s. I also met my DF online

I've been there before. Miserable at work and therefore the rest of my life was miserable, but the paycheck was keeping me going. I did end up quitting that job, but now I'm happy being a student with a crappy job but my quality of life is soo much better.
You'll get through it, and good luck finding a new (and better) job! :goodvibes

I say, if you are a girl, then you are entitled to be one every now and then :rotfl: . I hope the whole job situation works out. Have you already found another job? I know how you feel though. I hate hate hate my workplace. My job itself is really easy, it's just that my boss is an idiot who lets people take advantage of him and run over him. The guy I work with in the office is a pompous jerk and the structure of the office I work in is a joke. Plus, my job is so boring. Most of the time I do nothing and I like being busy and can't stand sitting around trying to find things to keep me occupied.
Anyway...all of that to say that I hope you find something you really like and you can be happy with. Sometimes taking a pay cut (if you can afford it) can be a great thing in the long run if it is making other aspects of your life happier and less stressful.
Good luck! :wizard:

Ok..so I need some pics on here. I ran around the house tonight taking pics of all the stuff I have so far. DF thought I was silly but who cares! :rotfl:
Ok so here goes...
These just came in TODAY!! DF's family is VERY into golf, and it is very important to him and his history. So for our favors we are doing these:

We got 1,000 of them for like $65! :teacher:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/WedPJ1.jpg
The wedding colors are Cinderella Blue, White, & Silver...so I loved that we could get the tees in our colors. I'm going to tie them in groups of 10 with silver & blue ribbon w/ a little tag and have one at each place setting.
Ok, next..the table cameras. I found these online for sale. I think I paid $2/each.
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/WedPJ12.jpg
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/WedPJ15.jpg
We got 8.
I also got 3 boxes of these bubbles:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/WedPJ9.jpg
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/WedPJ10.jpg
I got them online for cheap. I'm going to tie ribbons around the cap and set them along with our programs on the chairs of the ceremony. :woohoo:
Speaking of programs...here are the ones I'm using. They're tri-fold white card stock with a silver foil lining on the front:

Hello...finishing up my update from last night. :surfweb:
So we signed up for the Disney Honeymoon registry. It was fun adding all the stuff on there! :woohoo: Here is what the card looks like:

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/WedPJ8.jpg
Its going to be so much fun to use that card on our Disneymoon! Everyone will know we're newlyweds! I signed up for it with the free tote offer but the tote didnt come. I'm going to call and ask them what happened to it.
For those that read my intro, you know DF is a HUGE Gators fan. So here is my suprise garter belt:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/WedPJ42.jpg
Can't wait for him to find that up my dress :rotfl2:
I found these bookends on sale @ disney shopping a little while back. I'm going to get them engraved with our wedding date :bride: (they're VERY heavy!)

When I went dress shopping a while back @ David's Bridal and found these petals on sale. They match my wedding colors and were 75% off!! Of course I snatched up both boxes right then! lol Now I just need a basket....

Great PJ so far! I have enjoyed reading! Can you tell me some more about the disney honey moon registry?
OceanGdss
01-26-2008, 10:15 PM
The honeymoon registry is really neat. (I'm not sure about the waiting till Monday thing for the tote though..where did u see that?? I put in the offer code when I registered and it went through..i dunno...:confused3 )
The card can be for any amount. It works like a gift card. Its free to register and get the card. You can go on the site and add things like a dinner at a specific restaurant or a massage, or even your honeymoon stay. Lets say you register for a meal at Chef Mickeys. It would be about $50/person. (not really...but lets just say) You would pick 2 units (for two people) and depending on the item people can purchase gift units towards that item. Like the meals, I believe most of them are in $20 units. So, if you picked 2 $50 Chef Mickey meals, then 5 people could pick $20 units towards that item. :teacher: Make sense? There's tons of stuff to choose from. And the really neat part is that you don't actually have to use the money towards any specific item. Its just a gift card. You can use the total amount towards anything at all. :woohoo:
Its pretty neat..and free..and a cool card lol. So Im in!
Goldeelox9
01-27-2008, 01:51 PM
I don't remember where I seen it! It was the code and it said starting January 28, 2008. That is why I waited.
It is also a great way to save up some spending money. You can buy credits yourself, then just use the gift card to pay for everything you need to buy! I love that you don't have to use it for the specific thing you registered for!

So this is my adorable niece who is going to be my flowergirl:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/katelyn75copy.jpg
DF and I were talking yesterday and came up with a neat idea. Instead of spending $100+ on some flower girl dress that will probably not get worn again, or at least not often, and since the wedding colors include cinderella blue, we thought it would be really neat to just get her a cinderella dress/slippers instead. I would get her a nice tiara to wear instead of the plastic crown, but what do you think?? It would look something like this...
I'm still trying to find the perfect version...
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/cinderella.jpg

Congrats! I think it's a great idea! I came really, really close to doing that myself with my DD's for our vow renewal in July. If they were a little younger I would have. Wow everything looks wonderful!
We also are doing a Cinderella theme. I sort of have a flower girl dress in mind (it's less than $100, not by much, but it's really cute and is similar to mine) and while I'm staying away from the costume theme for them at this time I did have a thought yesterday. So just to share - I was thinking I didn't want them to have to buy expensive shoes they'd grow out of in a few months not to mention I didn't want them to have to dye shoes or anything. So one thing I was thinking of doing is getting them clear jelly shoes (like they had when I was little :goodvibes happy memories) so that the girls look like they had glass slippers. Just a thought that I figure might be of use to another Cinderella themed bride!

I'm having my flower girl dress as Cinderella! When I first asked my bridesmaids to be in the wedding thy were all a little afraid costumes would be involved. I told them I'm not that cruel. But flower girls can get away with it. My FMIL is making the dress because I just wanted it to be a little fancier than the regular ones.

LoL~thats too funny. I thought about making them all wear princess dresses...you know..a spin on the "horrible bridesmaid dresses" everyone always complains about. I thought I would make them REALLY horrible! :rotfl2:
Your wedding is really close to mine, i want to see the pictures of the dress your FMIL is making princess:

Ok..so I just had a great idea (or crazy...but Im going with great). I've been so stressed about where Im going to get ready the morning of my wedding. DF and I have a few days before and our honeymoon booked at GF, but its not close to where we're getting married. I was going to use his parents room but A) Beaute Special is coming at 5am to do me and 5 other girls' hair/makeup and I don't want to wake up his parents that early and B) I don't want to walk around in my gown. So here is what I came up with... We are booking 1 night in a Garden Suite at Boardwalk for me. The night before the wedding (17th) after the RD ill head there and DF will go to the room at GF. This way we are seperated the night before too. We were going to stay at Boardwalk until the day of the wedding and transfer to GF for the hm but i don't want to deal with all of that that day. Make sense? Hope so. This also gives Beaute Special plenty of room to do all the hair/makeup, plenty of space for the girls to get dressed (I'm having them come over that morning, not the night before....hey..a girl needs her sleep lol), and plenty of room for Randy to take pics...plus the beautiful yard out front and the garden and stairs right there...perfect for pics. :)

Sounds great! (Not at all crazy :) ) Lots of space and great photo ops. Will you have somebody to help you move your stuff from the BW to the GF?

Yes, I'm going to recruit someone....not sure who yet  probably one of my girls or my FMIL. I'm going to bring a large rolling case so I can just stuff all my clothes/junk from the night before in it. I can store it at BW at the least and just have someone take it later. I wont need my own makeup or anything because Beaute Special will be there, so even if I can't pick it up until the day after it won't be terrible.

Ok..I need help picking out my floral colors! The wedding colors are Silver, Cinderella Blue, and White. But I don't like blue flowers...they're too fake looking. I'm definately using silk...and I LOVE the color pink,:lovestruc so I was thinking of this:
(sorry if this pic comes out huge lol):confused3
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/thebridesbouquet1.jpg
But then I'm nervous the colors (light blue and pink) will come out too "Boy/Girl BabyShower" lol. Though...I'm not having a lot of floral at all. Not even floral centerpieces (more on my cool centerpice ideas later lol).
What do you girls think? I was also thinking of white...but my dress is WHITE on WHITE lol...no cream here...so wouldn't that wash out??

I love those flowers! So pretty. I don't think it will look like a baby shower unless everything is pink and blue. This will just be an accent color and you also have the silver and white. I think a light pink bouquet will be a lovely, feminine splash of color.

I love the flowers that you posted and no I don't think that it would look too baby showerish. I was always skeptical about white bridal flowers but I now find them very gorgeous and sophisticated. Definitely not a bad choice you could add silver accents in your bouquet if you felt it was too matchy matchy?

Very pretty flowers! I don't think it will look babyish. It's just one thing in pink. It will look really good against your white dress. I have to add that your DN is adorable. I love the idea of her wearing the Cindy costume!! I wanted to tell you that last night I saw the jelly shoes at Target! I didn't check the price but I saw them and couldn't believe it! I remember wearing them as a kid! They had them in colors and clear too. I can't wait to see your centerpiece idea!!!! Great idea to book the garden suit for yourself. If you and a bunch of girls are going to be getting ready in the same room, you will want a spacious room. You would've been on top of each other in a value resort.

I love the flowers, they are gorgeous. I was thinking if you worried about the pink being to strong, or the white being to matchy-matchy why not incorporate them both. Maybe have a mixture of the two colors. And I love someone's idea about the silver accents thrown in - hidden Mickey's maybe?

sorry, i wanted to make myself clear...
she is amazing. i didn't have a planning session, so we did everything over the phone/email. she has been with dftw for a really long time and her experience shows. she is really calm, really collected and most important, really knowledgeable. all of the outside vendors i used (carolyn allen's, beaute speciale and randy) ALL, like EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, commented that we were in good hands because some of the other planners are not as good as marion is. i can't say enough good things about her except to repeat what everyone said to me, "you're in good hands."

Ok..So I travelled to see my MOH last night (she lives 1hr away) and we poured over pictures and the internet and finally found some options. I compiled everything into an email and sent out the options to the girls this morning but wanted to know your opinions as well of course :grouphug:
Here are the options we came up with... (All styles by Alfred Angelo..he's the only one that carries the exact color I want)
Option 1: (in the color shown)
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/bridesmaidchoice1.jpg
The two bridesmaids would wear just the dress, the MOH and MatronOH would both have a white wrap/shawl to set them apart.
Option 2:
(This model doens't wear this style well..so forgive her lol)
For the two bridesmaids:
The colors would be reversed, the body would be blue and the ribbon white.
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/bridesmaidchoice3.jpg
For the MOH & MatronOH:
(colors as shown)
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/bridesmaidchoice2.jpg
The skirt with those two tops would be the one in this pic on the right (obviously not in brown...it would be blue)
(and the girl on the right in this pic is wearing one of the tops from above..she is a much better model of how it will look)
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/skirtchoice.jpg
Which one do you guys like??
I also found an adorable dress for my 3 JBM:

And the color you picked out is great. We are also going with Alfred Angelo in the claret color. I love their separates line. I am only having 3 girls and I am letting them pick out whatever they want - as long as it is in that color. Instead of the shawls I think they might be be going with the bolaro style jacket. Shawls are nice but I feel like you are always tugging on them and trying to hold on to them. With the jackets they will be covered (as our ceremony is outside in the morning in November and it might be cool) and then they can take them off at the reception.
Glad you found something you and your girls like.

Love all of your choices so far - dresses are gorgeous. I was a MOH for my cousin a few years ago and we wore the Alfred Angelo separates - they were great - reasonably prices, easy to wear, and easy to please the whole wedding party.
Your color scheme is great (exactly what I am thinking right down to the flowers) just trying to figure out how I can make it work in the fall in New England if we don't end up doing Disney. Sorry for the sidetrack there...
And your cake choice is perfect.

No we're not planning to use any type of cover up... but my wedding is Sep.1st so it'll still be really hot. Plus they're just not really my thing. I'm glad you liked the picture though! That's one of my BM's wearing it. Are you learning towards any of those dresses at this point?
She looks lovely! I like the first one a lot, but then again, I feel like the tops in the seperates can be worn again with a cute white skirt or even jeans. So thats more functional for my BMs. Did your BM find her dress to be comfy? We're having a hard time finding a location that actually carries these dresses to try on.
Aww..thanks!:goodvibes Maybe if you went with a little deeper blue it and a cream color instead of white, it would have the same effect with more of a Fall feeling
I love your PJ!! Just started reading and I'm hooked. :)
Your flower girl idea is so cute, I love the BM dresses and your story with DF is so sweet. I'm looking forward to reading more!!

My BM loved the dress because she thought it was pretty comfy... also the stomach area is very forgiving. Also, she and I had the same thought as you with the wearing the top part again with nice white pants or something. :goodvibes She also said that because it was a lighter piece on top versus holding the whole dress up, even if we had went with strapless it wasn't pulling as much, like she wouldn't have to keep tugging at it to hold it in place.
Hope that helps!!!

Hi just catching up. I love the cake choice and agree it would be even better in silver and blue. But I guess I'm a bit partial there huh?;) Anyway I think I liked the 1st BM dress the best but I agree that the separates may be a bit more forgiving. And I really liked the one where the top has the blue flowers on the white background.
Love everything so far can't wait to read more!

Thats good to hear...especially about it being a bit lighter. Lets just say that some of my BM's weren't first in line the day they were passing out ta-tas (lol..writing this is cracking me up..don't know why:rotfl: ) so something they wouldn't have to tug at all day would be nice. And how funny that you guys were thinking the same thing with wearing it again in the future!

Thanks you guys!! Drama ensued with those shoes... I ordered them Sunday, the lady called yesterday (Wednesday) to say that she couldn't order those shoes because they discontinued them MONDAY!!! I was like :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:. Very upset lol. But I held it together on the phone and said "Ok, I'll see what I can do.." I came home, and within 20 minutes had found an overstock in a store in Miami in my size! Absolutely :) Look below for pics of the Save the Dates...I just used Disney's, we didn't order our own. (omg..and talk about family drama when those things went out! We've had to cut our guest list due to space constraints at the venues, so we got a bunch of "Where is so & so's Save the Date??" "Didn't you invite my daughter?" "What about your 2nd cousin of your great uncle?" All sorts of slack....ugh:sad2: )

How exactly did you manage to get in? Did you videographer have an in with a member or something? I would pay some pretty good green to get a peek at the elusive 33!!
My DH and I are planning our 10th anniversary with the Adventures by Disney So Cal plan that takes you into Club 33, but you don't get to eat there...

Hello guys :) I've been reading more than posting lately, just been lazy lol. But I'm going to get updated now.
So I had the PERFECT shoes (see previous posts) and turns out, the day after I ordered them the manufacturer discontinued them!! And I couldn't find them anywhere!! So I managed to go on ebay and find these cuties:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/weddingshoes.jpg
I thought these were perfect because they're close to my color....
and thank goodness for ebay...they were $10!!!! :cool1:
So some other changes, DF and I love travelling and had a trip planned and booked to Barcelona this summer. (Our second time there) The other day DF comes to me and decides that the trip was too much $$$ to do the same year we're getting married. I agreed with him so we did some rearranging. We had orginally planned to spend 3 nights @ WDW & take a 4 night cruise on DCL for our honeymoon in December. The DCL part was completely paid for already, so we decided to cancel that cruise (our honeymoon cruise) and put the $$ towards a Carnival 8 night cruise this May in leu of our cancelled Barcelona trip. Cool. And since we're DVC we just used points to extend out honeymoon stay for a full 7 nights at WDW. :)
And..on top of that, we were able to use pts and get two night @ Disney's Vero Beach after our cruise this May. So now I'm super excited and we saved a bunch of money!! :teacher:
I was a little concerned about going on a cruise in December, especially a very expensive Disney cruise. So staying on property makes more sense. (Right now we'll be at GF for 3 nights & SSR for 4 nights, but I'm hoping to get those last 4 nights at WL instead!:santa: )
So thats my update for now. Nothing else really new.
OH!! WAIT!!! Something NEW!!! TOTALLY forgot!! :confused3
We booked our Planning Session!!!! We're going for our PS in May. But since they're having a big convention at BW & YC that week we can't do our tasting session for Ariel's. So our Tasting Session will be in June. I'm so excited!!!! For our PS in May we've booked a night @ AKL. SO Excited!!!
Ok...so will they send me anything before the PS?? What do I need to bring?? I need info!! LoL
I :lovestruc all of you SO much!

Love the shoes! Great taste! I think you made the right decision about your cruise. I really not sure either about going on a cruise in December. Decmeber is the perfect time to be at Disney! I don't think it gets any better than Disney around Christmas time. That's awesome that you booked your PS! Did you get your planning packet already? You basically just fill that out, and they also send you a cake cd and music choices. As long as you fill out your questionaire you will be in good shape. They basically hold your hand thorugh the whole thing, so as long as you know the basics that you want like flowers and things like that you will be fine. I was freaking out before I went, but it really wasn't that hard. BTW Banana Foster...AMAZING!!!! I had to apologize to Ohana's for not getting there sooner!
Those shoes are gorgeous, I love the colour and the lace detail. Don't you love ebay - I got mine for about $15!

Hey girls!! Time for an update. :) Seems Saturdays are the only time I have to take pics and such. :)
I got my shoes in the mail!!! They are SO cute! Though they're probably going to kill my feet...but they're just for the ceremony. I'm wearing some flip-flops in blue for the reception. :cool1:
Here are my shoes...
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/Shoes19.jpg
Got the sandals for $3 at Target!! And the heels for $10 on ebay! :teacher:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/Shoes11.jpg
I also found and ordered a tiara...I'm not sure if it will be the ONE, but I really really like it and it was only $20.
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/Tiara5.jpg
Here is a pic of the tiara on my currently short hair...I'm growing it long for the wedding, so it can be pulled up w/ curls.
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/Tiara.jpg
I ALSO got the disney honeymoon registry bag in the mail!!!! It is SO cool!!:cool2:

And....I don't think I ever posted our wedding bands!!! :bride: We got them on our 6-month engagement-anniversary. I love them, I can't wait to pair my engagement ring with my wedding band...its going to look SO nice. But I think we're using my Nana's wedding ring for the actual ceremony. I'm not sure yet. Or I might just wear hers on my right hand. Anyhow...here is a pic of our bands...

I think I'm going to wear it like a headband. Its too big to wear it sitting on my head. I had my hair kind of up when I tried it on and it was pretty cute. My hair is kind of straight/kind of wavy...and ALWAYS frizzy! It also doesn't hold a curl AT ALL! lol...so wearing it down would be very iffy. :confused3

So I took the day off today (I'm a substitute teacher..I can do that lol). I'm feeling blah and want to get some stuff done anyways.
It seems like in the last 2 months I have felt like the wedding is years away, yet all of a sudden I'm like "woah! I have less that 9 months!". It doesn't help when you get those reminder emails from The Knot saying "Its 9 months! Time to order your invites!" And I'm like...huh?? Invites?? I have some samples...but I've never really looked at them! :rotfl:
So my goals for today:
Organize wedding stuff (currently a pile in the rec room)
Find out about HD w/ STVS
Decide on Invites
Finish bridesmaid cards & gift packs
Find cute welcome folders for guests
I think I can manage all of that! :) I have all day...as long as I don't sit around here instead! :surfweb:  or do this.. :happytv: Which is how I usually spend my days lol.

I actually got that dress at JCPenney about a year ago. I wore it on the cruise he proposed on (aww..lol). Its just a simple floral dress, but I did have to buy a black tube-bra to wear under it, it was a little too low cut for family gatherings lol!

Wow..so I have a lot to update you on! :) First off...I'm so excited we are within 8 months!! :) Hitting that 8 month mark was huge! So we're ready to get down to business and start on all these little things for the wedding! It was just too early to start doing them before.
***BTW*** Due to a lot of concerns on the boards recently, I'm keeping some of the when/where details out of my PJ. Not for any particular reason, just general caution. :) Most of you know those details already anyways.
Ok..so on to the updates. First of all, BIG news. Unfortunately I had to ask one of my BM's to step down, my MOH actually. It is a very long story, but in short, our friendship just fell apart. So I had to step up and ask her to step down. She was very upset, and I found out she was planning to ditch her duties anyways at a later date. (Nice to know..:sad2: ) So thats that. My sister is my MatronOH anyways, so that role won't need to be filled, but I am short one bridesmaid. However I am planning to ask DF's SIL, as we have grown pretty close over the last year and I always wanted her to be in it, I just didn't have room. Now I need advice on how to ask her to do it!! LoL
Next thing, the bachelorette party has been set!! We're going on a cruise in the fall!! :) So far its me and my sister and 2 friends that are already bridesmaids. I'm hoping DF's SIL will go as well. Its going to be a short little 3 night cruise, but we are all SO excited!! A Girls Only cruise!! :woohoo:
Hmm..what else to update you on...well I do have some pics so lets get those started.
First off..I have some of the items for the kids goody bags I'm going to give out at the reception. (only making 12..have about 8-9 kids coming)
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0344.jpg
Our wedding is Mickey-themed (no princesses here! lol)
So we have all mickey & friends themed goodies..
Stamps
Coloring books & crayons
Stickers
(all from Ebay by the way!)
I'm also going to put autograph books & pens in there. Since we're having a mouse-y suprise at the reception, I think it would be cool to have them start their autograph books at our wedding!! :)
I also found this at the craft store for $1 for the FG.

I thought it would be cute for her to hold either in the wedding or just play with at the reception. I've also decided to get her a parasol from France as her gift. :) I still have mine from when I was a little girl!
I also picked up some stuff for our favors. We're wrapping 10 of our golf tees in this ribbon and tying on the little tag that says "To Love And To Cherish"
Two of my BM's and I are getting together sometime in the next 3 weeks for a girls night of Disney movies and favor making! I can't wait!

OOH!! And I found my earrings for the wedding!! They fit with the Mickey theme perfectly!! (I'm not wearing a necklace)
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0347.jpg
I also managed to complete the BM's gifts. Here is what I have..
These bags I got off of DisneyShopping.com. (This is the bag for the MOH I had to 'fire')
Oh...and my dog Gizzy couldn't help but get a shot in on the DIS lol
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0336.jpg
I also found these initialed stationary sets for $1 each at the craft store..
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0350.jpg
Then I found these earrings at Disney when we were there last week.. (they kind of match mine!)
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/DSC_0023.jpg
And finally these frames at a local craft store. (I got one for me too lol) I'm going to put in a "Thank you for being my Bridesmaid" poem and also a little note saying that I will buy them a copy of a picture from the wedding day of all of us girls to put in the frame.
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/DSC_0021.jpg
Ok...
and lastly, I've been working on the welcome folders. I picked up maps of all the parks, a Mickey Disney Dollar for each folder, and yesterday I made CD's of all of our favorite Disney songs to give to our guests. It has our names, "Our Favorite Disney Songs!" (in Disney font of course!) and the list of songs. I'm really proud of them! lol Here are some pics (Our wedding date is blacked out on the CD cover..)

Ok..so thats it for me! I'm all updated now! lol. I'm sure there will be more soon..I've been very busy with everything..trying to get it all done ahead of time. Ooh..and don't forget..our PS is in about 2 weeks!! :)

Thanks!!! I know its been a long time coming lol. I actually went up to the BW concierge desk about a month ago and just asked for them. I explained what they were for and the girl was like "Oh sure!" I wasn't even staying at the resort lol. Then I asked what Disney Dollars they had (yes...you get them at Disney..and NO..it doesnt sound stupid :P They aren't as popular now as they used to be..but they're still fun!) and she said they only had Ariel ones at the desk but she thought they had just received a shipment of the new Mickey $1s and she went and checked in the back for me..and they had them!! I bought all 28 they had at the desk, so now I just need 2 more lol. (We're having 30 groups/families..so we need 30 welcome folders!)

Just caught up on your PJ! Everything sounds great so far! I love the pics of you in your dress, too cute!
Your girls cruise sounds wonderful!! My mom, sister, aunt and SIL do a girls cruise every year for the past 6 yrs. It is WONDERFUL!!! more fun than any vacation i've ever been on. One funny thing, the last cruise we went on was a 4 night cruise, and we had 42 pairs of shoes!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: we needed another cabin just for all the shoes!!!

Whew...had a day off today so I tackled a bunch of wedding stuff. I managed to finish our Blurb book for the guest book (thanks carrie!!), finished the "Will you be my bridesmaid" cards, and printed out the labels for the welcome folders. They're really cute. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it was!! lol I also sent off some emails to STVS & our planner I've been meaning to send forever. Oh, and faxed all our info for the PS & a payment to DFTW. (We're doing monthly payments to lessen the blow at the end lol)
Now..its off to bed!! :D

Wow! you have been busy! Everything looks great! My DF loves the monorail in your siggie! He promptly looked up in our family room and said "we can do that"- our families already think we have lost of minds-WHY NOT!
Love the girls cruise! FUN!!:yay:
Sorry about your MOH, sounds like it might have been for the best! :(
We are having kids and the Mickey surprise too! I had someone on the creative boards make an autograph page of Mickey in formal attire with our names and dates so each kid could get in autographed and it will be a cute keepsake of the wedding--I couldnt afford to buy them all autograph books. I can post it if you want to see it!

haha..thats too funny about your DF. maybe him and my DF would get along. Speaking of which, there is currently a large box at the door from UPS that I'm assuming is yet another piece of monorail stuff. Anytime there is a shipment and DF won't tell me what it is, it ends up being monorail junk. :rotfl: Its his crazy obsession..but it is really neat to have :thumbsup2
I would LOVE to see the autograph page!! I'm not wanting to spend money on the books, but i figured it was our only option. :confused3

Just wanted to let you know that I was at the Dollar Store and they had a ton of Disney stuff. I got great pens - they are the large barrel ones - and they were in a package of two for $1.00. I also got little note pads - also two for $1.00. I am going to use these in my Welcome Bags for everyone.

OK so I'm reading your updates - love them by the way. And I was greatly amused because the wand you bought your flower girl is the same wands I bought for the little girls in our guest list to go in the welcome bags and be used for the Pirate and Princess themed welcome party! How fun!
I'm sorry to hear about the MOH but at least you still have your Matron of Honor (sisters are great for that type of thing)! Sounds like it saved you a lot of stress in the long run though to just ask her now.
Also love the cruise idea for the bachelorette party! Too fun and your in the perfect area for something like that! I'm a little afraid of what my BFF is going to cook up for mine at this point. I keep telling her a night at Jellyrolls while we're in Disney would be fine.
I pointed your siggy out to Erik too because I thought it was so neat the way you had it going round the room. However if we had that I'd probably be the instigator and the one to put it all up.
Love the updates keep them coming!

My WONDERFUL WONDERFUL sister/Maid of Honor, who by the way is trying her best to get all of her duties done for our wedding from 10 hours away in NC where she lives (we're in FL), found an ADORABLE dress today for her daughter/my niece/our FG. The bottom matches the BM dresses and the top matches my dress...she text'd me a pic and I said 'BUY IT!!' lol. So my niece is currently getting measured! I'm SO excited!!  I think I'm more excited about my FG's dress than mine lol! :goodvibes I've always said I'm more excited about the opportunity for my niece to have a 'princess day' than I am for me to have a 'princess day'. :lovestruc

Just a little update....
I asked my 4th bridesmaid to be in the wedding tonight!! She said YES of course!! :) Its DF's SIL. DF's brother just got married April 12th. So I'm VERY excited to have a part of his family (my future family of course) in my wedding party. He is very close to his brother, so it will be neat in the future to look at wedding pictures with all 4 of us in them and show our children.

Woohoo!!! So excited!!
Our PS is this thursday!! (yes..I say 3 days left cause in our house you don't count the day you're on or the day it actually happens lol!) I'm so excited!! Actually...I'm kind of calm about it. I feel like if I don't get all worked up about it it will come faster lol. (That and I don't want to work tomorrow...so I'm sad about that, then happy about the PS, so in the middle I end up freaked out lol. )
Ok..have to print out all my ideas. And I FINALLY found the flowers I'm going to use for the wedding bouquets. (I'm using silk that I'm getting from a craft store..not Disney floral) So I'm going to take some sample flowers with me for ideas and color schemes. I'm also bringing a printout of all my ideas and pics. And I have my day-planner loaded with lists and questions and ideas. (I sub for high school, and its quite boring a lot of the time, so I'm always writing ideas and stuff down..sometimes the students will even help with ideas lol)
Anything else I should bring?? Any ideas?? What really helped you at yours??
OH! And DF and I went and created our 'hard' registry today at BB&B. We're doing a Disney Honeymoon registry (our 'soft' registry) and the one we made today, so people have a choice of gift options. It was a LOT of fun!! DF and I had a blast.
Ok..um..can't think of anything else to update at the moment. I have TONS of ideas written down..but I'll type up all my plans after the PS this week.

Hey girls!!
I'm getting so hyped up about our PS in 2 days that Im on the boards all the time this week lol.
First off...we just got our guestbook in from blurb today!!! :yay: (THANK YOU CARRIE!!! For such a wonderful idea!! ) I LOVE it!! It is so gorgeous! I hope every 'gets' that they're supposed to sign the guest part AND write a little something around the photos. Maybe I'll have some family pre-sign it so everyone 'gets it'. :confused3
Anyhow..here are pics..I got to design it all myself..its awesome!!
The cover:

The inside jacket sleeves:

The actual "Guest Book" part:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0364.jpg
Some of the picture pages for our guests to fill in with thoughts & wishes:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0365.jpg
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0366.jpg
LOVE it!! :goodvibes
I also finally found my flowers!!! I'm going to use cream roses & blue hydrangea with touches of white dill sprouts.
For my bouquet I will use 7 of the cream roses and 3 large hydrangea bushes..it will look kind of like this..but with more roses & hydrangea:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0373.jpg
Like I said..it will have 7 roses and lots more hydrangea..but its a start. :)
Then the bridesmaids will hold just the roses (5 of them) with the dill weed sprouts. Their dresses are blue so we didn't want to try to match the blue hydrangea to their dresses...and this way I stand out.
DF's boutonniere will look kind of like this:
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/OceanGdss/IMG_0380.jpg
Like it? I hope so...Ive changed my mind about 10 times with these flowers...but now I think I REALLY have what I like..actually, everytime I go look at them I LOVE them..so they must be the ones! :)
And the using the silk and making them myself this is the cost breakdown:
1 bride bouquet
4 bridesmaids bouquets
1 groom bout.
4 groomsmen bouts.
2 mothers nosegays
2 grandmothers corsages
3 grandfathers bouts.
2 fathers bouts.
1 ring bearer bout.
 Total: $300 :teacher:
And we all can keep them! :) And the roses I'm using look absolutely real! And feel real! They're top quality silk. Very nice. :thumbsup2
Well...I was going to write out all my ideas that I'm taking with me to the ps Thursday, but DF is looking sleepy and I'm sure I need to head to bed too. I'll post again tomorrow!!! Night night! :cloud9:

Megan,
The book is really nice. I think everyone will "get it", especially if you have a few "earlybirds" sign the book. It's going to make a nice souvenir of the wedding.
I really like the flowers you are using for your floral. I think you've chosen well. I did all the flowers for our original wedding in silk, so I know what a headache it is. But they were exactly what I wanted because I did it myself! :lovestruc
Very nice, I can't wait to hear about your PS. BTW, how long will you be in Disney? We arrive next Wednesday 5/21. :earboy2:

lol..SURE!! Will you be at Disney Tuesday?? We're supposed to be doing a DISbride meet. :)
No unfortunately I won't be in Disney today. hehe I know I was bummed there is a dis meet the day before the leave to go there and the day after we come home.:sad2:
Guess I miss out on all the fun :guilty:
BTW I LOVE you blurb book. It looks so professional very nice and will make a nice keepsake better than just a book with signatures. Also...your flowers look great too! Very real looking and nice combo. Can't wait to see them when you'll all finished!

Love everything and your Blurb Book is just great. We will be down in Disney the end of May for our PS and we are doing a Engagement Shoot with Misty (our photographer). I have definately decided to do one of these. I hope it is not too hard. I'll have to play with it for a while before making my book. How many pages is your book. I just love it and all the sayings you put in it and the cover is great.

Thank you so much! Yes, I think having early birds sign it will be a big help...we're also going to have the DJ mention something about it during the reception, so people can hop over and sign a little something. Its going to be a great keepsake. And it won't take up as much room as a signature mat! :thumbsup2
Thanks for the compliments on the floral. I'm so glad to hear someone else has used silk before...its not that common anymore, especially not at Disney. I'll be a trail-blazer lol. But its more important to me that I can keep my bouquet, and in the end, ALL of my floral will cost less than it would have cost me to preserve my bouquet!
We will only be there tomorrow & Thursday (we live pretty close to Disney, so just driving down the night before). How long will you be in Disney?? We're going back for our tasing in a few weeks!! :cutie:

Thank you! I hope it will be easy...I'm stressed enough by myself lol. Maybe my planner will have already read my PJ on here and will just say "Ok..here ya go" lol! :rotfl2:

Its ok, I didn't go to the meet either. I tried emailing several people and posting on here to see if anyone else was still going, and I received no response..so I didn't drive down. (Its 2 hours..thats a lot of gas to use up, only to get there and realize it was cancelled lol)
Thank you for the compliments. I can't wait till I get the rest of the flowers and make the complete bouquets! Its on my list of 'to-do's for June. :)
love the guest book, those pics are gorgeous!!!!! I like the flowers too can't wait to see the finished product.
Thank you!!! I'll def be posting pics when I get them all done! Now I just need to find a good place to store them so they won't get crushed!:confused3

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Ohhh...Amanda...your poor poor offspring..what ever will we do with you! lol They're going to have ADD too lol. The program is actually really easy, you should try it again...its never too late. :cutie: And def use blurb...I've tried using other companies and they are so much harder to navigate & they are much more expensive. Blurb has awesome prices!:thumbsup2

Its not hard at all!!! (unless you're amanda..:rotfl2:) Our book is about 20 pages (or 10 sheets). It was extremely simple to do the layout..and you can mess around with it all you want to change things. It took me about 2 days of working on it for a couple of hours each day to get it done. But it was SO worth it!! You can have soft or hardcover, and now they have an option to have the cover printed right on the book instead of a dust jacket like ours. But I like the dust jacket because I could put those sayings on the inside. We also used Waltograph font and put a Walt Disney quote inside as well...really added a little Disney touch without going overboard. (Oh..and THANK YOU RANDY for the great engagement photos I used!!!! :goodvibes )
I think you'll love it if you do it...its even better when you see it in person! :)
Everything in your pj looks great! I absolutely love your shoes!! Keep up the good work!
I can't wait for the next installment!! popcorn::
LoL..thank you! The shoes are a whole saga unto themselves. I wore a pair similar to my FBIL's wedding and my feet were KILLING me!:headache: It was TERRIBLE! So I am looking at a lower heel/different style...but I'll still keep my blue shoes and may wear them to the rehearsal/dinner! :thumbsup2
I'll get a new installment up soon!
 you all!
