Fab guestbook! ;) I was so stumped on what to put on the dust jacket flaps... it never even occured to me that I could just fill them with a big quote - great idea!

I think you'll have no trouble getting signatures - you have the lines on the pages, people will already have signed it, and the DJ announcement should be a great reminder. But if you like, I can lend you my MIL to carry it around to each and every guest and hover over them til they write something...:rotfl:

Seriously though...thank you for such an amazing idea. DF and I were iffy on getting a signature mat...we didn't want it collecting dust in the closet..and its kidn of akward to pull out and show people. And I have ALWAYS loved coffee table books that you make our of your own photos. (I made one out of my Galapagos trip photos..but it was another company and very expensive...will be sticking with blurb from now on) This book was a perfect answer to what we wanted..and another way to use our engagement photos!!! :hug: Thank you!!!:worship:

Hi!! :) Don't worry...July will be here before you know it!! The months are FLYING by!!! Thank you for the floral compliments! Doesn't it save SO much money doing some floral on your own?? I'm creating all of the floral for 'people' (bouquets, corages, bouts, etc) and using disney for decor & centerpieces. Though I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have much floral in the centerpieces...candles instead. :) I'll let you know when we get back fromt he PS!! :banana:

Woohoo!!! We're leaving today for the PS!! Going to stay @ AKL tonight with FMIL. I'm thrilled!!! I promise to take lots of pictures and tell you all about it when we get back!! We don't leave until between 4 or 5 today...and I have SO much to do, but I'm being lazy and sittin on the DIS lol. :surfweb:

So far I've printed out all sorts of stuff including floral and centerpiece ideas, pics of the BM dresses, pics of my own silk floral, etc. Im also taking a mock invitation, sample flowers from my silk, a few favors, and other small decor items so they can see what we're already working with. Anything I'm forgetting????
Oh...and a laundry list of ideas/questions from both me & my DF. :thumbsup2
( I actually had to tell him.."Honey, you need to think of some questions to ask Marion" he is slightly un-involved in the whole process lol)

We're back..we made it..we survived...DF has NOT gone into wedding-shock....or maybe he has lol. Poor guy is overloaded and in sugar shock after spending the day in Franck's!! :rotfl2:

I am EXAUHSTED! I actually don't think DF has ever seen me this tired...I even debated coming on DIS tonight..I'm THAT tired. (driving to WDW yesterday, staying up till 2am w/ FMIL chatting in the room *and spying on animals lol*, and then planning the wedding & driving back home all in one day = a very very tired Meg :faint: lol

Soooo..that being said...I will post my TR tomorrow. I should have the day off, which means I may get everything done for you guys. :goodvibes I know you're all just :surfweb: in suspense lol.

Here's a teaser tid-bit:
After realizing our rehearsal dinner guest list reached 42 people, we were told that nearly zero restaurants will accept that size group......so....**DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!** (oh...and this was actually DF & FMIL's idea....)

We're having a Rehearsal Illuminations Dessert Party the night before the wedding!!!! UK LOWER BABY!!! YEAH!!! :banana: :banana: :cool1: :cool1: :banana: :banana: :dance3: :dance3: :yay: :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Can't tell you HOW excited I am!!! We wanted a DP SO SO SO bad...but just couldn't fit it into the wedding budget...however, when it takes the place of the rehearsal dinner, and its actually the same price as having it in a restaurant...it works right into our budget!!!! YAY!!

Ok...off to peruse a few threads then go to sleep!!

Okies..I'll get this started lol

We don't live very far from WDW, just a couple of hours, so we just went down the night before the PS, then drove back home the night of. It was a wonderful little trip.

We invited FMIL to go with us because she is wonderful at planning, decorating, flowers, and food! lol And she just finished planning FBIL's wedding (married April 12th) and we wanted her to be involved in ours. Ours is a little different, we're paying for everything out of our pockets, and I'm planning pretty much everything..so its everything WE want, no one else. But we wanted her to be involved..so this was perfect!! (She's coming with us to the tasting session as well!! That will be June 5th)

Unfortunately my mom lives in NC, so she couldn't come with us, but I'm emailing her ALL the pics so it will seem like she was there!

Ok, so we left Wednesday around 4pm. We picked up FMIL and some stuff from the store and then we were off.
Here's a pic of my planning materials I brought...can you tell I was overprepared?? lol

The drive was great, FMIL sat in the front and I drove, so we chatted the whole way (she is the sweetest woman in the world) while DF sat in the back and read the paper...he always stays in his own world when it comes to girl talk and wedding stuff lol

Then we arrived at...*another drum roll*...Animal Kingdom Lodge!! (yay DVC!! lol)

When we were checking in the CM asked why we were there for only one night and I explained we were there for our PS...so maybe thats why we got a Savanah view?? :confused3 Because we had just booked a standard...yay for pixie dust!! :yay:

We could see the new DVC Villas building from our room..we are very excited for that to open!! (though not as excited for that as we are for another building currently under construction...more on that later lol)

I was SO excited and showing FMIL everything. I'm such a dork lol..but hey..thats me! She thought it was SO cool that we could see animals right from our balcony.

So we checked out the room, got settled, then headed down to the Mara for a quick bite. I had chicken fingers & fries...not picture worthy lol.

After dinner we walked around the grounds and showed FMIL all the savanahs and animals. (Btw...in our house we're really silly, and we call animals "aMiNals"...switching the "n" and "m" around. Well....we've been doing this SO long that the entire weekend I kept saying "aMinals"..it was funny..I couldn't help it!:rotfl: )

Then we grabbed the car (Oh...did I mention that with DVC membership you get FREE..yes FREE valet parking at any DVC resort??? Pretty neat!:thumbsup2 ) and headed to DTD.

DF decided to tell me a different way to go (gotta love backseat drivers) and nearly got us lost. Now...we have been coming to WDW for YEARS...and I used to be a CM...so I know these roads like the back of my hand..so how and why he decided to get us nearly lost is beyond me. We've been going the same way from LBV to DTD for years...he's just wierd lol.:rolleyes:

We get to DTD and head straight to Arribas Bros. Our goal this trip was to get our champagne flutes. (We're trying to spread out our purchases for the wedding..so everytime we go down I get something different)
We thought we would have to buy them tonight then pick them up tomorrow after they were engraved...we figured it would take at least one day. Well..when I asked the lady how long it would take she looked at the guy's work station and said "Oh..well you're next, so 15 minutes?" :yay: FMIL suggested we stay there so we could actually watch him engrave our names....how romantic!:lovestruc

Now..funny thing..when we wrote out the design we wanted I wrote the names next to each other like this:

But I thought it was standard to do them like this:

So I thought thats how he would do them...
Well, as he was engraving FMIL looked and said quietly "He's putting them next to each other, not on top of each other..."
At first I was going to stop him and have him start over, putting the names on top of each other, but after we saw it..we really liked it!!! Sometimes mistakes happen for a reason!! And make things better! :goodvibes

You are going to LOVE it!!! When you go, go to the bar at the pool and ask for a Paw-Paw...its a non-alcoholic drink they make. (I know how they make it, but I'm not telling lol..its very simple..but SOOOO yummy!) yummers!

Ok, part 2...

After we got our glasses we walked around DTD for a bit. FMIL got a coffee at Ghiradelli's (i got a free sample of their peanut-butter square..yumm) and I got a churro from a cart...I forgot how yummy those things are!! mmm...craving one right now!! We checked out Once Upon A Toy so DF could check if there were any new monorail items out..there weren't. But I did find the plush toys for our table markers (using Disney characters). I didn't buy them yet, but I was able to show FMIL. She approved.

We didn't stick around long...we headed back to AKL and up to our room.
(Actually, DF made a stop for the gift shop because he has a doughnut addiction and needed some before he went to bed)
Once we got up there we all started getting ready for bed. FMIL was on the pull-out and DF was already almost asleep in the bed, so I sprawled out all my planning stuff on FMIL's bed and we looked at all the plans I had so far. Since she had been planning FBIL's wedding until recently, she didn't know a lot about ours and all the things we had been doing/planning. So it was like a cram session for her. lol
We started chatting and ended up talking from 10pm-1:30am! :scared1:
DF woke up a couple of times and kept saying "Aren't you guys going to sleep?!" hahaha...:rotfl: he's really silly and grumpy when he's sleepy. But it was a good thing we stayed up so late!! At 1:30 FMIL and I started to head to bed, but I peaked out the window one last time to check for any animals....there were 3 zebras right outside our balcony!!! It was so cool!! DF even got out of bed to see them!!
So we watched them for a little bit then went back inside to go to bed. Well after seeing the zebras we were all awake so we layed there talking for a while about the next day....then about 20 minutes went by and we were about to go to sleep again...I got up to go to the bathroom and happened to peek outside again....there was a giraffe walking right by our room!!! Now its 2am and we have a zoo outside!!! lol :lmao: So here we were again..all three of us on the balcony ooh-ing and aaah-ing at the animals.
Finally we went to bed. But honestly, I couldn't sleep...I was SO jazzed up about the PS the next day!

Day 2~ Thursday May 15th

I woke up around 6:45am. Our PS wasn't until 1pm, so there was NO need to be awake..especially since we were up until 2am. But I just couldn't sleep at all. I layed there tossing and turning for about 30 minutes until DF grumpily said "Just get up..you know you want to" lol. So I did. Then FMIL was awake...and with both of us up DF woke up eventually to. (That man can sleep more than anyone I have ever known!! lol)

After some debating as to whether we should all get up and go get breakfast or send someone, we decided to send DF.
He went down to the Mara, and I made coffee in the room. (gotta have my coffee!!)
FMIL got the breakfast platter...(no pic)
DF got the Mickey waffle with bacon..

After breakfast and coffee we all started getting ready and packed up. We left AKL around 10:30.

When we left AKL it was only 10:30, and our PS wasn't until 1pm. So we had some time to kill. I drove over to GF and as we pulled through the gate the CM asked us "What brings you here today?" and I told her about us planning our wedding. She was SO nice and sweet and must have said congratulations 10 times! lol

We parked ourselves (no DVC valet here...:sad2: ) and I lugged my big old tote bag with all the planning materials with us.

We walked into the GF and went up to the monorail. DF LOVES the Contemporary, so we immediately headed over there.

When we got there he hopped off the monorail and DF took off walking...I didn't know where he was headed. Well...I should have known. As me & FMIL were dragging behind I realized we were headed to the construction site outside. This is rumored to be the future site of a DVC Villa at Contemporary. :yay: :banana: :cool1: <~~thats what our family looks like when we think about owning conteporary points lol

We putzed around there for a little while then headed over to the polly. FMIL hadn't seen any of these resorts for a while, so she has having fun comparing them to how they looked years ago. :cutie:

When we got to the Polly we headed to Hook's for a bite to eat. We were all hungry for lunch, and by now it was 11:30, and we knew we needed to eat before we went into the PS. But when we walked into the dining area it smelled like BURNT CHEESE! Yuck!! It smelled SO nasty in there that I immediately lost my appetite. DF and FMIL were about to order something when I said "um...can we just go back to GF?? please".
They said no problem. We were supposed to walk from Polly to Franck's, but instead took the monorail to GF to grab something to eat first. And its a good thing we made this change!! Every trip DF tries to sit in the front of the monorail (yeah...he's THAT GUY :rotfl2: ) and he had failed up to this point.
However...this time we lucked out!! AND we had the nicest driver ever!! I wish I could remember her name...but she was very sweet!

The monorail drivers usually don't talk to you that much and sometimes rush you out at your stop, but she was so nice. She was asking us about our wedding plans and telling us ALL about DFTW (it was funny because me & DF knew everything she was saying...but we smiled and oooh'ed and ahhh'ed like we had NEVER heard of the Wedding Pavillion before! ;) )

So then we hopped off the monorail and headed over to the counter service at GF...
This place is my new best friend!!! The food was AMAZING!!!
FMIL got the jerk chicken salad wrap (I won't eat it because it has almonds in it) DF got the cheeseburger (he doesn't do health food lol...and he's still as skinny as a stick!! booger :mad: )

At this point it was 12:30, time to head to Franck's!!!

By the way....the entire day before, and ALL day Thursday (the PS day) my stomach was in knotts!!! I couldn't settle it. I kept telling DF "I need a drink...omg I need a drink" lol. But he just kept laughing at me. I don't know why...but I was so nervous!! And excited, and anxious, and scared...lol...I was just a big ball of nerves. But in the end, I felt great during the PS. Which I will tell you more about......in the next installment! :rotfl:

Oh..and PS~ By this point, my shoulder was KILLING me from that monster bag of materials I was lugging around!!!

Off to DF's cousin's wedding shower! :)

This weekend we're leaving for an 8 night cruise to celebrate our 1yr engagement (and take a break from planning before it gets REALLY crazy lol). We're also capping our cruise off with a 2 night stay at Disney's Vero Beach Resort...I'm SO SO excited!!!:banana: So I'll be missing for about 2 weeks starting this Friday! I know you'll miss me lol. :lmao:

Omg I know..DF and I were just in SHOCK at how much DT Miami has grown. Its crazy. And half of those condos are empty!!! Thats actually where we stayed, an unoccupied condo. It was so much cheaper than a hotel and right on the water by Hard Rock.

Next time we're down you and I will DEF hang out for drinks!! I love Mojitos in Miami!

Ok..so 3 months after the fact, I'm going to finish my PJ.

First, to explain the delay...
I have seriously considered abandoning my PJ here after recent issues, and of course safety concerns. But mostly, the atmosphere on the boards here has changed dramatically. But..I started here, I made a lot of friends here, and I'll keep posting here...but it will NEVER be the same for future brides. I'm so lucky to have found the friends that I did while the boards were such a warm place. I can only wish future brides the best of luck in finding the same here. I will be around up to, and after, my wedding to help out anywhere I can. I will finish my PJ here, and of course come back after December to post my TR. But it will never be the same...

Enough with the sad stuff!!! On with the finale of my PS TR!


Ok, I left you after lunch at GF. (That was the yummiest sammy EVER!!)
After we had finally found lunch we started walking over to the Wedding Pavillion and Franck's. My stomach was STILL in knots!!! But I was super excited to finally be attending MY ps!!!!

I was SO anxious to get inside. I opened the doors and angels started singing, men in suits came dancing into the lobby carrying trays of treats, doves were flying, and the sun shined through the windows creating stars with such beauty you were left in tears.....

We checked in and sat around waiting for about 10 minutes. In that time I managed to increase our BEO by $700! :rotfl: (no need to worry, I later cut those things out! ok...some of those things! lol)

Finally Marion came out to meet us. She was SO amazing!!! She took us into a little room (I can't remember the name of the room! agh!) and immediately started the process. There was a wonderful guy that brought us drinks (water/sodas/etc) and of course FMIL and I thiefed a handful of those pretty blue DFTW napkins for the scrapbook! lol

The whole process is quite a blur to be honest. We spent about two hours talking about everything wedding. I had brought a LOT of info for Marion, and as almost every other bride on here has said...I was over prepared! lol. DFTW really has their stuff together...it was such an easy process. I went in with a list of about 50-60 specific questions to ask...in the end I only had to ask 1 or 2. Marion had touched on everything!

It did suprise me that she jumped right in lol. We sat down, received our water, and she said 'Ok..so lets start with the ceremony.....' My seat was barely warm! lol...but I was so nervous I was glad to just get it started.

So we went through all of the ceremony, reception, and misc. We even decided on our Dessert Party for our Rehearsal Dinner!! (YAY!!!!!!)

I enjoyed almost ALL the flavors! I REALLY enjoyed the passion fruit icing, and almost decided to have a 'brides cake' with that flavor lol...but DF was the one who made the ultimate decision on our cake flavor...and here is the winner!

After the cake tasting Laura from floral came in and we talked flowers. This part was super easy/fast because I already knew what I wanted down to the petal

We're also using blue w/ silver tipped poinsettias in the walkway at the ceremony, transferring them to half the tables at reception. The other half of the tables will have silver bowls with silver painted pinecones in them as the centerpieces. The cake table will have the bridal party bouquets and tealights, and the head table will have a few white poinsettias (moved from the archway at SBP from ceremony). The guestbook table will have the tossing bouquet, and the "memory table" (pics of all the family weddings) will have my bouquet. We will also have two flowers, we havent decided what type to use yet, one on each side of the aisle in a seat (front row, out-wards most seat on each side) in memory of our grandmothers.

After floral that was it! We were done!! We trekked back to the GF parking lot (that thing is FOREVER away!! lol) and headed back home!!! (we live 2hrs away..not a bad drive). We were exauhsted!!!!! My mind was so overwhelmed with wedding stuff I didn't even want to talk about it the whole way home! lol...it was seriously AFTER our cruise in June that I even wanted to talk about the wedding!!!!

We finally got our BEO btw... we were *hoping* for close to 12k, but it came in near 18k. So we did some immediate chopping (no more alcohol! lol) and got it down to around 13k. I need to send in the revised copy to Marion! :)

Our original was about the same and we came in, our final bill at under 12k! It is so easy to add everything on, even with restraint! It is so beautiful there and you cant help but want it all!:goodvibes

I'm so glad to get our BEO down. I'll NEVER beat Carrie, lol, but I'm going to try to get close!! If it wasn't for the Holiday season charge for the DJ we'd be BELOW minimum before taxes!! lol

I guess I should have been more specific about the poinsettias lol...they will be in pots, there will be 4 of them, 1 on each side of the aisle at the steps leading to SBP, and two at the front, infront of the beams of the arch. :) The way I said it made it sound like they'll be poinsettias sprinkled on the aisle! lol..its a novel idea...but..not for me lol!

Ok, here's the Cliffnotes:

Bachelorette cruise is in 3 weeks!! (Sept 18th)
My bridesmaids have set a date and printed the invitations for my shower, October 5th
DF's Aunts are throwing us a couples shower (the theme is 'Honeymoon' so everyone is buying us gifts from our Disney Honeymoon Registry!! yay!!) It will be on November 21st
My sister is coming from North Carolina for the Bachelorette Cruise and BOTH showers!!! yay!!
My mom may not be attending my wedding (a big part of the reason ive been MIA from the boards here for so long..dealing with that..so now there is a good chance the only family member that will be at my wedding will be my sister)
I have all but finished my invitations, just need to address the envelopes, RSVP envelopes, and type/print/glue the outside labels for the names on the pocketfolds
I purchased all my postage for my invites today
I made a super cute basket for flip flops for the reception (no one likes sore feet!)
I'm starting my wedding-bootcamp diet/exercise this week to get in shape for the wedding!
