After the events on the CB with Dan Murphy, I'm feeling a little less excited about going to DIS CON II.

:(

Remind me of all the neat things that we are going to do!!!!

My reaction to the Dan Murphy issue is stunned. Ok that out of the way. I am still looking forward to DIScon II!!!! I am still kind of new to the DIS, we found this place about 10 days before our last trip to WDW. I had the pleasure of meeting Dan there. I also met a few others at a mini meet Dan had for Princess Michelle's birthday. I am soooooo looking forward to meeting all of you wonderful people there. The feelings about the CB will pass. Dan said he will be there jjust as on of us instead of a ogre. LOL Dan an ogre I think not. Just think Dan will have more time for pic p threads instead of telling us kids to behave.:D .

Far be it from me to talk anyone into going anywhere...Your choice to go to the Dis Convention 2002 is totally a personal one based on time off, finances, and the need to be there..

I feel there is a lot of discussion on the events of the past few days on the Community Board and please feel free to access any of those threads to continue your discussions...

Karen, how about this? DISCON 2001 was a total hoot and DISCON 2002 is going to be even better.

And you know what? Unless something has changed, Dan plans to attend DISCON2. Doesn't that make you want to go?

Marsha I haven't had much of a chance to get to know you yet but I assume you are coming too. Like I said before I can't wait to meet all of the DISers I can no matter where. Marsha maybe we need to start some kind of wild and crazy thread to get folks to laugh again.:D

Why go to DIS CON II?

1) Because it was an incredible experience.
2) The friendship you will form will be incredible.
3) You will never see Disney again in the same.
4) All the fun
5) It is an expirience that can never be duplicated...no way can #2 be the same for me as #1, but it will be a blast.
6) meet all these people on the boards, who are as crazy about Disney as you are.


Do not let the discussion of the last few days ruin an expirience of a lifetime. JMHO....

Dis Con II will be even better than the first because I will be there!! :D:D

Seriously, it will be a blast!! Look at all the great people who visit this board and are going...How can you beat that...great friends and Disney all in the same place!! :)

Here is one of my reasons to go to Dis Con II To go with out KIDS finally!!!!
Can't wait to experience Disney in a different matter!!! To actually be able to meet people and hopefully get to know them!! Nothing like another Disney NUT!!

I think I'm more excited about the Dec trip, then I am about the OCt trip.. lol

Ive only been gone a few days......i dont understand whats going on :confused:

I don't think that the change in moderators has any impact on DISCON. I actually think Dan could have been great on the inspiration board, but I understand his decision. I have a feeling that the board owners did not expect what happened to happen, but you live and learn!

If I am still employed I will be at DISCON. It is so much fun to meet everyone!

I understand what you mean...it is a very sad, unbelievable, stunned type of week, here on the DIS.

Thanks for the question.

I had the best time at Walt Disney World at DIS-CON-I because of getting to meet and talk with all the DIS people that we talk to on the internet.

We all like Walt Disney World and we all get to talk and to laugh and to hug and to eat and to drink and to sing and to ride rides together.

I would like to spend more time with all the DISers that I have talked with here on the DIS, like Glo and Patrick and Alex and Marla and LisaTx and NativeTxn and Jaypd and so many, many more that I didn't get to spend time with last time.

I would also like to change the time from 24 hours a day to 34 hours a day...hahaha.

Do more unofficial DIS mini-meets, like the one that Dave H just posted about eating at MGM's funny, old timey restaurant. I can't remember the name.

Enjoying the holiday christmas lights at the resorts and parks.

Having different meals together.

Watching the EPCOT's Christmas Processional, Illuminations, Fantasy in the Sky, Spectromagic, Fantasmic and MVMCP together and on and on and on.

The things that I really liked last year was everyone meeting at the Wilderness Lodge Whispering Cafe for dinner and holiday resort tour the night before the official DIS-CON-I registration.

Meeting most DISers (this year I want to meet everyone and that's why I'm making a list) at the opening ceremony. I wish that there was more time to meet everyone. I don't want to miss meeting and talking to one single DISer, whether they are signed up for the official DIS-CON-II or just visiting WDW during that time and going to unofficial DIS mini-meets. Whew!!!

Going to Jellyrolls and Adventurer's Club.

Going on more thrill rides.

Going to every single unofficial DIS mini-meet.

Letting Barb-for-real cry on my shoulder during the beautful Christmas Processional.

Letting Barb-for-real splash me and beach her log on Splash Mountain.

Watching DumboOrBust's special festive hat and all the little kid's reaction.

Laughing with disneycub and SandraB and lowellsdad and Towncrier and Barb and others when DumboOrBust kept stepping in the vomit while waiting for the MVMCP parade at a table next to the castle and bridge and asking what that smell was...hahaha.

Laughing when I thought that the only clothes that I had on with DIS green was my green Big Dog b*****, but instead I had my orange "basketball" print b***** with the waist band that said "Big B****" instead of "Big Dogs"...hahaha.

This was on the bridge before Illuminations. We laughed so hard that we were crying.

Beating Towncrier at MGM's "Who Wants to be a Millionare"...hahaha.

Asking for catsup and a spoon at the Whispering Cafe restaurant.

DATW with SSB...hahaha and not losing power and Marla's cups in my ECV...right Jaypd...hahaha.

And I want to sing with Jaypd and the other guys at the Swan Resort Kimono's Karaoke Club, "I'm Proud To Be an American".
So many happy memories...so many more that I

I have a couple of more things that I'm looking forward to do, but I'll let others talk about it.

I understand the saddness right now.........but..........DIS-Con II is still on my Must-Do List :D I hope it finds its way back to your's. Time will heal. {{{hugs}}} for you.

Actually today reminded me of why I DIS. (is that a verb?) Dan Murphy has received so many PMs that he is just overloaded and has TONS of emails (he even posted a thread asking people to email him instead of PM) I think that regardless of what happens we have a great community and the fact that we care so much about each other shows that!

The best reason to go to DIS CON 2 is to meet...ME!!! LOL! For all tat don't know I am Barb's little sister (for real). And just a heads up to Ray, being extremely emotional runs in the family...do you have 2 shoulders?

I am so relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who cries at the Candlelight Processional! I'll bring the tissues and we can all have a group cry and Ray will hug us all:D

I am SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to Dis Con II for all the reasons everyone else has mentioned. The biggest is getting to meet and share some "face to face" time with so many members of this wonderful family we call "The DIS". Didn't make it to Dis Con I, so I can't refer to any great memories but I am certainly planning on making some great new ones come December!! Do we get name tags or should I have my name printed on my shirt??!!!

I don't know what they'll have for DIS-CON II - but we had nametags attached to lime green lanyards for the first convention! Very easy to spot another DISer that way! :D

I am DEFINITELY Going so I can give Dan a GREAT BIG {{{{HUG}}}} in PERSON!:D Of course, I will be re-applying my Makeup afterwards!:rolleyes: ;) :D
