really. it's true. my mil took us for our christmas present. we had two little boys and we were, um, done. we came home pregnant. :lovestruc

mil said she would take us every year, lol, but the sad truth is that we've never been back, and our daughter is now nine and one-half and has a younger brother who is five.

out of the blue, i just found out i've got some free time during spring break. dh is taking our oldest to look at colleges, and i want to take the two littlest ones to disney for, maybe four days. i've forgotten everything i ever knew about disney and this needs to be a pretty low budget trip, although i want to try and stay on the disney property and have pretty good access to our room, since our littlest one has pretty bad asthma.

can someone help me figure out where to get started? i hate asking such a dumb newb question, but i really want to pull this off and have very little time to plan as our spring break is the third week in march. any help will be very gratefully accepted! we need to fly in from alabama, so i thought maybe there would be a fly/stay package, but i was unable to find one googling around yesterday. all i could see was a basic kind of package with food option increases.

We too have ourselves a little Disney souviner that gets bigger each year. He'll be 2 in August. "Technically" he's been 3 times. Dec '05. Then in Jun '06 when DW was 6 months pregnant and then again last month when he could actually use his own eyes to see everything. :teeth:

So your not the first and certainly wont be the last. :teeth:

Hi,

The prices will higher the 3rd week of March (until the 29) as that is peak season rates at Disney. Values start at $129, and might be higher on weekends.

Still, I always recommend staying on site, an especially good option since you are traveling alone with 2 young children... no car rental, traffic or direction worries, plus, free transportation to and from the airport, extra magic hours, etc.
Room -
First, I would call Disney (soon, as that is spring break and around easter) and try to secure the room for your dates. If you have AAA, you can get a slight discount on the room. Also, try ordering Disney's planning DVD, it might trigger Disney to send you a discount code, and watch these boards to see if one is released for your dates of travel.
Flights -
Then check out the flights, prices, dates and times.

If you can line-up flights and a room for your dates, you'll need to decide if you want to book a package, with tickets and or the dining plan DP.
Tickets -
To cut ticket cost, just buy Magic Your Way (MYW) base tickets... don't buy any extra add-ons... hoppers, water parks, etc., you probably wouldn't have time for those anyway. Since you only have 4 days, (Does that include travel days?) don't buy tickets for days you can't use... meaning if your arriving at Disney very late or leaving Disney very early, don't purchase a ticket for those days, Tickets aren't greatly discount until after the 4TH day.
Food -
The DP would cost, $38 for you and $10 for each of your little ones, times (X) the number of NIGHTS you are staying. You would each receive 1 Table Service (TS), 1 Counter Service meal (CS), and 1 snack for each night of your stay. If you don't care about eating at the TS restaurants, or don't want to take the time, the DP is not right for your family. Paying out of pocket (oop) at CS locations will be cheaper and quicker. DP or not, if you want to dine at a few TS restaurants, (including character meals) you will need to call and make Advance Dining Reservations (ADR's).

Any other questions, just ask.

Im not sure where youre at in Alabama. I did see some good fares from Huntsville to Orlando last night. I just cant remember where I saw it. If you go from Birmingham your only direct flight options are Delta and Southwest.

This reminds me of that commercial where the little girl is telling everyone in the
elevator that her little brother is "Mommy's little souvenir" from their Disney
Cruise a year ago. :thumbsup2 Congratulations on finally making it back.
You'll find all the info. you will ever need right here on the boards and just be
careful this time....don't drink the water! ;)
