View Full Version : Information on photo opportunities please!

Like all of you, we are Disney addicts! Been to the parks numerous times but this is our first cruise. We get a kick out of collecting pictures of our kids with Disney characters in different outfits. Thought a cruise would be a great photo opportunity with characters in nautical wear, beach wear, formal wear?, etc. Any specific information on what different photo opportunities are available when and where would be greatly appreciated. P.S. My co-workers think I'm nuts!

there will be ample opportunities for you to get pics of the kids with the characters in different outfits, starting with when you arrive in the terminal. i'd say around 11:00 or so, they start cycling different characters in sailor clothes to stand in front of the ship model for photos (disney photographer or your own or both) and autographs. they'll be on board as you board (usually on deck 9 around the pools) most of the afternoon and into the evening.

when you get to the port, they'll give you a personal navigator. in there, they list the times and locations that you can meet and greet the characters.

on castaway cay, i found that the characters tend to be out early, but as the day progresses, they aren't as visible. as you head for a spot on the beach, you'll find them around mt. rustmore and the she sells seashells shop. stop and get a pic as they look adorable in their beach wear!

just beware...those photos are good and get expensive after a while!

Also, in the Atrium of the ship on Deck 3 is a board and every day they update it with the times the placed the characters will be. Between that and the Navigator, you should have no problem finding phot ops.

Also, this past week we found the ship photographers to be very accommodating when we wanted to take a photo with our camera and as well as the the ship's camera.

Look in the navigator every night for the glove, for the character appearance. Go to the character breakfast. And, hand them your camera.
--One nite I dropped off DS7 and ran back to dinner. I saw Mickey in his sailor suit and asked them to take a shot of just the 2 of us. When we got our pics developed we laughed because I was the only one to get the shot. Glad DCL didn't snap a shot so I wasn't tempted w\their $9.95.
