Pirate & Princess Party - Pic of the Day

The P&PP is becoming more and more popular, especially here on DIS! I had a GREAT time when I went, and I thought it would be cool to post our favorite pics. So, those of you that are on the fence about going, here’s a chance for you to see what P&PP is all about!

Rules:

1. Your pic must be from a Pirate & Princess Party in the Magic Kingdom – characters, parade, fireworks, etc.
2. It must be a pic that you have taken (not copied and pasted from another website or user)
3. Tell us what date the party was on
4. Explain where you were in the park and why you have chosen that pic
5. Only post 1 picture a day, please, unless your pics go together
6. Enjoy! :)

These are great pictures! I'm going March 6, and can't wait!

It's nice to see other adults do dress up! I was a little worried, as I sit here madly sewing my replica of one of Elizabeth Swann's dresses for myself, and two full on pirate outfits for friends!

I wish I could sew my own unique costume. Instead I am trying to piece something together. I am missing a pirate hat. All I can find is cheap looking felt ones and I want a really nice one. I am still looking and hope I can find one before our Mardi Gras trip. Dh is going dressed as Jack and my dds are wearing burgundy dresses from the Disney store with fur collared short jackets and gold princess gloves. I even bought them shiny tiara's from the wedding craft section at Walmart. I can hardly wait.

For those who have attended the party is it true that your ticket will get you into the park as early as 4PM?

You MAY get lucky on this one. It's rumoured that the P&PP's are being extended into April/May/June. So you may be able to catch one if this happens. Keep checking the official Disney website for dates :)

i love these pics, brings back so many great memories from when we went in august. I thought the fireworks show was the best i have ever seen. We watched it by the carousel and it was like we were standing in the middle of the display, i was in awe. The parade was fantastic too..i really hope its back in may when we go. our kids were in heaven at the dance party and seeing all the princesses.

I am so excited to go!! I see most of the pictures are of pirates (which is fine b/c I probably have the only child that freaks out at Cinderella) My son will just die to see Captain Jack and Barbosa!! He was Davy Jones for Halloween and I guess I will be carting the costume to WDW (He is just turning 4 and everyone is surprised he wasn't scared)!! LOL

We plan to attend P&PP March 6th. Enjoying all the pics! Are there any special decorations around the Main St. Flagpole area? They usually decorate this area during MNSSHP.

They had this throne set up right at the beginning of the bridge to Tomorrow Land (if I remember correctly!!). It was right by the station they set up to put wristbands on people with tickets to the P&PP. This picture was taken at about 5:30pm-- there was a short line of people waiting to pose for pictures on the throne.

Your costumes were awesome! Looks like you all had a great time. We are hoping for dates when we are there in August.

How did you handle the weather in those costumes? We went to MNSSHP in Sept and were hot! I would love for us to wear these same costumes again, but we were so HOT and I know it will be even more brutal in August. I especially worry about DH and DS.

We were there for the August 24th party last year. The one that got totally rained out with all the lightning. I, of course, forgot our rain ponchos as you can tell from the picture. We went to meet Captain Jack and it was well worth it. He even tease our girls, asking them if they just escaped from the Kraken.

Are y'all using tripods for those fireworks shots? Awesome! I just got a new camera for Christmas, and we're going to the 3/1 party - I'd love to get some shots like that. But if I leave the shutter open without a tripod, won't they be blurry?
