Not that I am allowed to buy it or anything since I am "banned" but now that I saw what the cuttlebug can do, i want one! I got the impression that the plates are somewhat interchangeable (between brands) which would be awesome. Which is the best for embossing, cuttlebug, sizzix or something else? I already have the baby cricut and I am planning on buying expression, so this will be used simply for embossing.

I have the Wizard and I LOVE it. You can use other brands with it. The dies that come from them (spellbinders) do both cutting and embossing. Not in the same step, you run it thru with different plates, but they are really nice. And there are texture plates for just embossing too. Here is a link to their site:

Here is alink to an example of what the outcome looks like after chalking and coloring:

After I posted I saw that you have the cricut, so you wouldn't need this for cutting, but it is a great little machine.

I have the cuttlebug and the sizzix. I LOVE the Cuttlebug - small - portable - not too heavy - easy to store and very easy to use - both my 5 1/2 year old and my 2 year old love to use it with me.
I also have both the circut and the expression.

I have the cuttlebug (Used a 50% coupon at Mike's) and I love it! I can easily bring it to crops if I want to

Another vote for the Cuttlebug. I love mine, and have used sizzilets and quickutz with it. Easy to use, doesn't slip...

Another vote for the Cuttlebug! I bought it strictly for the embossing too. I have bought a few dies that I knew I didn't have on a Cricut cartridge- such as a fire truck. It is so easy to use and very portable.

I got a cuttlebug (i have both bugs also so mine is only for embossing except for the new Mickey dies that came out). I know creativeExpress.com has them for 35 right now plus shipping. You almost can't beat that price. ;)

I got a cuttlebug for Christmas so I could emboss. I have a craftrobo and an expression so I only have it to emboss and cut some of the Disney dies I can't do on the cricut and don't want to take the time to create a file for on the craftrobo.

I love it!!!

I too have a cuttlebug. Also own a ZAZ for tiny diecuts (because it was $5 from a friend).
