Prayers please - update page 2, post 25

Hi everyone,
I don't know if any of you are praying people but if you are, pelase could you help me out and keep my grandfather in your thoughts for the next couple of days. he has been rushed back to hospital tonight and is going to need heart surgery, he really needs a pacemaker fitted and was scheduled to have it done next month but things are suddenly a lot more urgent. I just don't know if hes going to get through this again and i just feel like I'm not strong enough to hold it together right now so if you belive in prayers or anything else, then if you could this, i would be so grateful.
I knew hed been getting worse and he looked so ill this weekend but to me hes my hero and I always felt like he was invincible but now I ....anyway you have always been my rock in the past so you were the first people I spoke to. everyone's phones are engaged at the mo.

I am sooo sorry to hear that Claire :hug: I lost my Granda in May after he put up a big fight and miss him everyday.

Sorry to hear your grandad is poorly again. I hope he gets better soon after his pace maker insertion. I have all fingers crossed for you. Pace makers are a wonderful invention. I have seen many patients having these fitted in many emergencies. Keep your hopes up. Thoughts are with him.

ok heres what I know so far. Grandad did indeed have another heart attack on monday night.he is on a monitor and being given oxygen. he has also had one of his medications removed that was causing him so much stomach irritation. the specialist came to see him on tuesday morning and decided that his scheduled pacemaker surgery will be brought forward to friday and he will be transferred to harefield for this. the problem is they have found a urine infection which unless is brought under control first makes surgery impossible as this can spread to the heart. Plan now is to play the waiting game to see if the infection can be controlled and then surgery to follow. i know they are very worried about putting him under a general anesthetic. he is in good spirits apparently and is eating ok and feeling well.
I will be going to see him this evening. i wanted to see him last night but as most of you know i am on my own and the children's father makes it very difficult for me at the best of times, so he decided sleeping after work was much more important yesterday:mad: he has agreed to come and watch them later at least.
Thankyou for all your posts, they really do help and I'll keep you informed. I'm just about to update the quiz and apologise for the delays on it so far, but as you can see now I have had other things on my mind. he has been deteriorating for a little while and i always seem to be running errands or something, anyway will try and keep on top of it.
