here is the design template for the napkins I ordered from impresssions. The napkins are royal blue and the design is in gold foil. I plan on using these at the reception rather than the DP ( my first thought) so at least they can be seen! will try to get better pic than one I have because you can't really see the design.....
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/napkindesign.jpg

my newest project ideas was to incorporate a "cake pull" into my tea. since its not a private event perse I won't have a cake but still wanted to do this. a cake pull is a victorian wedding tradition ( quasi mary poppins) where before the cake is cut the bridesmaids pull special charms (each with a special meaning; a heart for love, clover for luck etc) attached to ribbons from the cake, so I decided to make a towel "cupcake" for each bridesmaid and special participant. I will use white towels which I am going to personalize for each and I will roll them up with charm inside attached to a ribbon they will be able to pull and make the towel look like a cupcake with wrapper and decorations. when it is presented to each they can pull out the charm for their fortune and then a have special towel to use. will be able to do after tea with favors etc. and no mess. not sure that makes any sense but I tried...

well , here is my first mock up of my towel cupcake the tag is on the ribbon attached to the charm rolled inside the towel..... I will take a pic of the charms later. more to come

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/cupcake001.jpg

here are the towels they are a work in progress..... on one end will be the name and then the other will just have a design similar to this.... the luggage tags are at the top with the plastic lace/string attached http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/VRtowel001.jpg

For are quasi welcome get together I am planning on a pirate theme.... more to come.:goodvibes

I had a cake pull at my wedding and dh's family had no clue about it! Doing that cupcake towel favor is such a great idea!

I love, love the tea bag envelope. Together with the mug, you are going to make their day so special!

Luggage tags like movie reels, great theming!

More, more please.

Let me ask - how did you make the big carriage to paint on the aisle runner? Do you have a big clip art of that?

I want to copy you idea! :rotfl: Again!

First thank you for you kind words... I have enjoyed doing my projects. For the runner I just enlarged a small image to the size I thought would work and then traced it onto the mock runner( butcher paper) just to see what it would look like......I am still deciding about using a runner or not.....so haven't went any further than the mock up. there was actually another dis bride that had a similar runner made:goodvibes

I did that a couple different times had had some wonderful designers help me out! good luck!:goodvibes

Well I have been working on an idea for a scavenger hunt for our guests just for fun(most our staying at all star movies so I thought with the theme it could be fun) so with the help from the creative boards and a little "tweaking" I have a pirate themed photo scavenger for our guests. each room with will be a team and they will have one hour to hunt around the resort for certain items/things to take a fun picture with. I will supply the cameras. I thought this would be fun for a non park day/time when we are hanging out at the pool- thats where the pirate theme came in.... I will give each " team" a loot bag with a scroll map of the resort , the list of treasures to discover along with one time use a digital camera to go and locate as many items as they can and take one fun picture with each item....about half our guests(family) are Tweens/teens so I figured we could end up with some pretty "unique" photos....more to come....pirate: I will try to post pics later....pirate:

here are the items for the pirate themed photo scavenger hunt. there is a list(not the original design but tweaked it for a pirate theme) and then a map for each team/room. A " treasure bag" will hold the map ,list, camera and crayon/marker to check off the "finds" of the hunt.
Just for fun, I made some candy pockets I found on the creative board and will fill with the bones/skulls candies, a few colorful necklaces as treasure- not in photo, the cup/can holder that was a quarter after halloween (Dead Man's Brew- quasi POTC) and some napkins that were also a quarter. I figure after wards we will have pizza/drinks and swim.

Laura, Hi Thanks for reading.... I think it will be fun at least I hope it will be....and you would be more than welcome to sneak in....:)

Seriously Tammy - that is just awesome! Your guests will love it! I wish I was ambitious enough to do something like that for my guests!

Joanna, Hi!!! I hope our guests enjoy it... and I would love to take all the credit but I can't ... yes the inspiration was mine and I did the printing but some wonderful ladies from the creative board actually did the most of it.....I am so very thankful for their help and talent.....:worship:

I love the treasure hunt. Do you mind sharing the questions? When are you having everyone do theirs? I know I included the in-park scavenger questions for our guests to do at their leisure and we had quite a few people do them while they were in the parks.

Vanessa, hello! There aren't really questions , its more of just finding specific location in resort from list and taking a picture there... but I will gladly share.
My intent was do use questions, but that became more involved than I wanted so with some help from the creative board I plan on using a list of things/themed decor etc. around the resort..... guests will just need to find item( an example would be find RC the car, the winners circles or mousekeeping) and take a FUN picture....

Then with some "tweaking" to fit a pirate theme (Plan on doing late in afternoon before supper as a break from the parks and then have pizza and swimming). guests will all do the hunt at same time for approx. one hour in teams. Teams will be by room. different rooms/teams can go together but will need to have their own pictures.....

the pirate themed scavenger hunt will have resort maps. my home made "treasure bags" to hold list, camera. marker/crayon to check off "finds" and map. candy pockets are also from the creative board for fun and will fill with skull / bones candies. a pirate can holder I found for a quarter that fit the pirate theme with "Dead mans Brew" (quasi POTC), pirate napkins were also a quarter for pizza and plan on having some pirate jewels/necklaces too for fun... more to come!
I hope it will be fun.... I think it will make for some great photos...
about half of our guests are non camera shy tweens /teenagers.... oh my...:rotfl:

will start a condensed version of our dec trip. This was our first trip during the holidays to see the decorations and for dd Amandas birthday along with our PS. It turned out to be a very busy trip.....

we left home as soon as we could on tuesday dec 8 because of storm coming up from south (pittsburgh- where we were flying from) It is roughly a three hour trip to airport from home we left that night and planned to stay overnight near airport to make wed am alittle easier-our flight was at 7:55 am...no problem getting to pgh at all and security in am was a breeze! go figure anyway we were off and on our way. we planned to meet my girlfriend at the resort once we arrived.

we got to orlando and CSR resort easily using ME and sure enough my girlfriend and her dh met us there. when we got off the ME people must have wondered, we hadn't seen each other in about 5 years so it was alot of hugging and kissing etc.. her husband drives for the ME , but he was off for the day. not only did we get to see her but another friend from high school had also come to wdw and got in touch with her so him and his wife came too!so now there were 8 of us carrying luggage through CSR.

the resort was beautiful.our room was newly redone and near the quiet pool. we were on the ground floor corner room and the pool was right outside our door! after a quick change etc we all headed to the bus stop and then on to epcot.....

after arriving at epcot, we hit nemo at living seas and then soaring, test track etc grabbed a quick bite and then headed to world showcase to walk around before dp party.....here are some food shots from the dp

After this first day, we spent multiple days in the parks.... riding, eating and admiring the decorations..... we had breakfast at 1900 and CRT. we had our PS, my hair trial and MVMCP. we ate at T Rex and rainforest cafe. I won't bore everyone with all the details but I will post various pics and highlights...... oh and not to forget the alligator..... he/she was in the lake at CSR. The bell man told us they let them stay there until they reach about 3 ft in length and then they are removed....

CSR is very pretty resort but big! It can be quite a hike to a bus stop if your room is in a certain area..... its set up similar to CBR but rooms are nice. The beds/pillows were so comfy and big!

for those who want to see... we were on the TTA when space mountain was experiencing difficulty.... here are some pics from inside space mountain....my dh thought it was pretty cool not something you see everyday.....

ok here are a few more.... we went to 1900 park fare for breakfast sat am... for an early bday. she has always liked pooh. when pooh was walking around he saw her eating gummy bears. he stopped and pointed, covered his month , shook his head and started to wipe his eyes like he was crying then he held out his paw pointing for her to put the gummy bears in his paw. she did and the he was throwing them at the mad hatter!.... here is a picture of her and pooh "making up" after he took all her gummy bears....it was quite the breakfast.....

I had tried to get a ressie at TREX before we left but couldn't so one night at DTD we just went and asked and got it. It is basically like the rainforest cafe
( owned by same company) but with dinosaur twist. the food was great and there seemed to be alittle more selection than at rainforest. here are some pic. Its a neat place and you can stuff your own toy a dino......like build a bear. there was a sea room( where we sat) an ice age room and a few others I am not sure of.....more to come!

Great job on keeping the floral costs low! Glad to hear you had a good time at the PS and at Disney. I've always wanted to go for Christmas, so it's fun to look at other's pics. TRex looks really cool, we'll have to check it out soon.

Congrats on booking your room! That is an awesome deal!

Sara, thanks for reading:goodvibes.....this was our first christmas /holiday trip too and I enjoyed it.:cool1: It was pretty!
the bounce back offer was nice- we had never used it before but figured I would call and see what the $ ran. The first call I asked about GF and I was quoted a price for garden view- I just thought it seemed like alot so the next day I called about the WL and the price for the HM suite was just a little more w/taxes etc than the GF so figured why not splurge. In the grand scheme of things its only a small piece....:goodvibes it is starting to seem more real now.....

Our invites are offiicially done! Didn't have too many to make but figured if my printer was ever going to not work it would be when I started to print things out....but worked fine!

on the little mickey I put one name on each ear and then monogram on largest circle w/date-sort of our hidden mickey. I plan on sending out in mid march or so since everyone already knows the basic information.

next up is booking a tea at the GF.... when I was there earlier this month I spoke to our waitress and she suggested I give her the info(date/number etc) along with my contact info and she would pass it on, which I did and then for me to call after beginning of new year- 180 day mark.....:goodvibes

Tammy - I'm so behind! Looks like your PS trip was really fun! I so want to go when it's all decked out for the holidays. It looks so pretty! Maybe next year...

T-Rex looks nice, I'll have to put that on my list.

Way to go on the floral budget! That's amazing! But don't tell my DF... he'll want me to cut mine then :rotfl:

And yay for the WL suite that will be so fun. The GF is nice, but really expensive - that's why we're doing our free night there! :) I really want to try the WL someday, it looks so nice. I'm jealous.

And your invites are way cute. I'm totally impressed. I would not have the patients to make those - they're awesome! Your guests are so lucky.

Tammy, I'm so disappointed I should have been following your plans better and maybe we could have met up :sad2: (I haven't been keeping up very well on the boards.) We were in Orlando December 10-14 and met up with several other brides while we were there. We did breakfast with Laura on Saturday and saw Andreah at Disapaloozah plus went to Ohanas with two other brides on Thursday, Dec. 10. Most of our trip was at Universal and we only went to a Disney park for Disapalooza, but I'm sure we could've managed to meet at some point.

How cool that you got to see the track inside Space Mountain, DH would've loved that if we were there. Looking forward to reading more from your PS and congrats on keeping the floral right on track for budget.

Your invitations are beautiful! You should definitely send your invitation to Mickey. There are 2 addresses (one for Florida and one for California) and they send something back to you. From Florida we got a signed picture of Mickey and Minnie in front of the castle and for California a certificate from Cinderella & Prince Charming. Also, don't forget the White House.

PRELUDE/GUEST SEATING

BRIDESMAIDS PROCESSIONAL
BRIDE AND GROOM ENTRANCE
GREETING………………………………………………...REV. KEVIN KNOX
1 CORINTHIANS 13……READING (we used this at our wedding-0ur dd will read)
BLESSING OF THE HANDS
RENEWAL OF MARRIAGE VOWS
TRUE LOVE…………………………..READING
EXCHANGE OF RINGS
FAMILY SAND CEREMONY
PRONOUNCEMENT
RECESSIONAL

Here is the Blessing of the Hands ceremony:
("N and N" are used in place of names)

We would like to take a moment to bless the hands of N., and N. For it is through the hands that we demonstrate our love and commitment to one another.

N, and N, please face each other and join both hands so that we may bless them.

N, and N These are the hands of your best friend, strong and full of love for you.

They are being held by yours as you two renew the promise to love each other for the rest of your lives.

These are the hands that will continue to work alongside yours as together you two build a future and share your innermost secrets and dreams.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.

These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief threatens to overwhelm you.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will tenderly hold the (Grand)children.

These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one.

These are the hands that be there to give you strength when you need it the most.

And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

Prayer: (optional)

God, bless these hands that you see before you this day. May they always be held by one another. Keep them tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their wondrous love. Help these hands to continue building a relationship founded in your grace. May N, and N see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide. We ask this in your name, Amen.

When you married ___years ago you had no idea what life had in store for you. Your togetherness as husband and wife, at times, may have been under difficult circumstances. Your circumstances may have required great faith, but your faith has found you steadfast and its now brings you to this point in your life where you joyfully reaffirm your love for one another.

I now invite you to look into each others eyes.

Renewal of marriage vows

N, this woman, whom you hold by the hand, is your wife. She has given you one of the most sacred things under heaven: a woman’s life and a woman’s love. She will continue to look to you for support, loyalty, and understanding.
Do you renew your vow here, as you have promised N,
That you will be true and loyal,
Patient in sickness,
Comforting in sorrow,
And forsaking all other, keep yourself only unto her,
So long as you both shall live?

I DO

N , this man whom you hold by the hand is your husband. It is upon your life, your love and your devotion that he will lean upon for strength and inspiration. He will continue to look to you for encouragement, cheerfulness, and confidence. Do you renew your vow here, as you have promised N,
That you will be loyal in adversity,
Ministering to him in affliction,
Comforting in sorrow,
And forsaking all others,
Keeping yourself only into him as long as you both shall live?

I DO

Here is the second reading, a friend of ours will read this....

True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh demands
It neither rules nor binds,
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

Dh knows about the slipper but not presentation(thats my little surprise). The caricature artist was important to us because we love the animation studio at dhs. the MK shoot was a given for us- once I got past the price tag, the epcot shoot we are trying to decide on a few location choices. the glow ice cubes were just fun along with the other dp party items I have and the petal cannons are basically going to be a surprise for everyone ;)....it was the last addition I made (both dds wanted them when our planner talked about them at our PS). Its funny when we started planning, I was always worried about choosing things for the BEO and then having to cut things out but our experience was different.....but worked out in the end.

Our floral BEO was 770.00 which I was happy with because I had budgeted in my head a $1000.( I posted entire BEO above.) I made basically all our personal floral and centerpieces. here are pics of the floral we will be using.... to save on costs and use $ for other things.
I am not a floral person by any means but figured it was one way to save....and really they cost very little to make....$20 each maybe for the bouquets. The centerpieces were less the ten each.....I got all the flowers on sale...

centerpieces at reception are going to be movie themed,so each is different, but again pretty basic more for color .... our tables will be Cinderella, POTC and Toy Story. I made table name cards and escort "movie ticket" cards. Guests are assigned a table versus a seat. here is the toy story centerpiece....

Lately, I have been spending most of my time working on different play lists, but I am finally to a point I am pretty happy with what we have picked. There may be a few changes but minor ones....

for our entrance at reception we will be using Indiana Jones theme....dh loves these movies and it was a choice between POTC/ starwars or indy.....indy seemed more upbeat.(IMO)
our first dance will be keep on loving you by REO speed wagon (one of our favorites)
then goofy will arrive to mickey march(can't find anything else yet...)
then celebration, you've got a friend in me and my hey mickey -disney version( this could also change if I find another song)then brief Heigh-ho to lead into cake cutting...

cake cutting song- still the one (DH agreed about using be our guest when the food is served) followed by love is a wonderful thing and ever after.

when the food is served -to be our guest.
when sorbet slipper is served- bibbiddi bobbidi boo.

meal music is variety of instrumental/soft music- some disney and other

"reception" music is a mix ... upbeat/fun/party ones (new and old) , along with general mix of a few love songs/ballads/easy lsitening etc....

the last song will be the time of my life....dirty dancing theme song

Now I just have to get them on the IPOD..... Thanks for reading and more to come:goodvibes

Lately I have been working on wording for our family sand ceremony, I have found several versions and I working on combining them.... more to come

padisneyfour
03-10-2010, 03:35 PM
here is the verse I have for the sand ceremony, it needs some tweaking.....

Twenty years ago _____ and _______ made a promise to one another. We have all joined them here on this day to celebrate the reaffirmation their commitment to each other along with their children . We recognize the significant role that child, and child have in the marriage and family celebrated today. They join ____ and ____ in their commitment to each other by contributing a part of each individual person into a family.

this family bond is symbolized through the pouring of these 4 individual containers of sand, each representing a member of them in all that they were, all that they are and all they will ever be.

As Each individual sand is poured into one container, the individual container of sand no longer exists, but will be joined together with the others as one. ____ and _____ will first pour their sands into the vase, showing that their marriage is the foundation of this family. Their sands mix together and symbolize their bond of love and respect that can never be separated. As child and child now add their sands, we are reminded that though we are all different people, it is our individuality which adds a unique color to the tapestry of the family. Just as the grains of sand can never b e separated and poured again into the individual containers, so is the bond of family.

Just went back and read some of your posts from last week (we were gone for our anniversary) and I love that you're doing a welcome breakfast at O'hanas. I was also worried about planning meals that we weren't actually going to pay for our guests at but everyone asked for group reservations and really enjoyed the time together throughout the week.

The sand ceremony wording is very nice too. I also combined a couple to get exactly what I wanted for ours.

Thank you for sharing the scavenger hunt! I have saved it and plan to do it on our next trip to WDW (at a date TBD ;)).

Just wanted to share a few project pics.
Here are the the travel journals. I made one for each family along with letter , a personalized with mouse ears family page and ADRs (I know about). I included a section for planning, each park with a few pages with different attractions to write about and then special pages for group activities like the welcome breakfast, welcome gathering, tea and then VR day( ceremony, reception and DP) I was happy with how they turned out. I plan on giving them out before the trip with the letter.

most of the designs came from the design board. I love the design board! they are talented and helpful! I put a few different versions from there together and then added some of my own pages. I figure if the families use them they will be a nice keepsake of the trip.

Thank you.

For the Napa room (California grill)you have to use their menus... ours is basically a deli style menu. it is served family style. We did add the sorbet slipper between the meal and cake... Our minimum for food and beverage because it ends before 4 pm (we are having a 10 am ceremony) was $1000.00 for the Napa Room which was basically pretty easy to meet. The min for the room increases in the pm... not sure on the amount though
I did all my own personal floral -bouquets and centerpieces too which saved $. good luck:goodvibes

since I had made the autograph books for the VR, I figured I should have a special autograph card for goofy since he will make an appearance at the reception. I did a request to the disign board and some wonderful designers helped me- again. There were several wonderful designs! (thanks to all the designers).:goodvibes I will print one for guests that will fit in the autograph books and have it for them to use at the reception so goofy's visit stays a surprise. Its fancier( a fancy border, our names w/wdw and date) than the other autograph cards but thought it would be a nice touch.... I will post a pic when I have them printed.....more to come:goodvibes

From Mickey and Minnie With Love FromMickeyAndMinnie

From the moment you step into your Walt Disney World® Resort room, you step into a world of romance, experiencing all the magic Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse have arranged just for you! They heard congratulations were in order, so they turned back the bed and sprinkled rose petals on the sheets and chocolates on your pillows. Cozy bath towels, specially embroidered with your names, are draped across the foot of the bed and a spa basket for two sits waiting for you. On the table nearby, a splash of Mickey-shaped confetti, a dozen pixie-dusted roses, and a custom-matted photo of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse stands to congratulate you. Then, for the final touch, three magically lit candles are scattered about to set the mood for romance - and, if you look closely, you’ll find Tinker Bell spreading a little magic too! All of this is not only meant for you to enjoy - now every piece has been selected for you to take home - with love.

I would love to be a guest at your wedding too!! You think of everything. You are going to have such a wonderful day.

PS I know you have read positive reviews again and again so I will repeat them and say we just had our lunch at the Napa Room and it exceeded my expectations. The guests loved the caricature artists and he was the hit of the day. Randy and Patricia were excellent too!
