well things have calmed down here and I am feeling more comfortable about restarting my PJ now with some edits here and there-still.. I will sort of recap quickly.
we are planning for a VR for our 20th anniversary in july 2010 with just family which brings us to about 27 so planning for a wishes package. Our two DD will be our bridesmaid(only attendants) and would love to have actual anniversary date which falls mid week that year. would like wp and the reception(not firm location ideas on that but want it to be relaxed and fun! and then DP party later, but where is a question. I love wishes, DH likes illuminations and 2DDs love fantasmic, so who knows!

I have a dress I found on sale, I know what I want to use as my save the dates and invites(cards and pockets), welcome bags logo, folder with some items and then favors. For favors I plan on using the Lenox mickey and minnie ears personalized. I plan on wearing a tiara. I will post some pics again later of different items/projects. Sorry, if you read this all before and for the rambling, bear with me and thanks for reading ... more to come I promise with pics!:)

06-24-2008, 09:59 PM
I got most at a few different outlets never more than $6.00 each ( I found 12 once for $60.00 which covered most of what I needed) and a few off ebay too!
I also have bride and groom ears for me and DH which I will post later.... I LOVE them! I just personalized them using a gold perm marker.

padisneyfour
06-25-2008, 06:25 AM
I had gotten these off ebay and never posted a pic before. I originally wasn't going to get the bride/groom ears but then decided to and will use the others just for guests.. sorry but its not the best picture. They are smaller than the other lenox ears. I wrote in gold on them as well. on the back of all of the ears I plan on putting the date and WDW 2010. These were the most costly ears but I still only paid about $20 with shipping which is basically the regularly listed price of one. I figure we are doing this once in a lifetime so splurge because for our wedding we really didn't ,our splurge then was saving to go to WDW for our HM. I think twenty years deserves a splurge! Does that make any sense?:goodvibes

I have gotten most of my inspirations from other brides here so you are welcome to take notes....:goodvibes

I just realized I never added the photo/guestbook I plan on using to my PJ. I had posted about it so I will add it now.... some other dis brides had done these and I thought the idea was GREAT, so since we are doing a VR I thought about doing a book of through the years starting with our wedding and disney Hm and then adding pics of our many trips since with different members of our family . I used shutterfly( because I liked their covers and had a coupon too!) I won't post every "page but some. The cover is a padded photocover( i used my avatar pic because it is one of my favorite)
the cover
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/guestbookpic.jpg

the first page " The magic began twenty years ago...."
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/pagegb2.jpg

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/pagegb3.jpg

"on our walt disney world honeymoon"

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/pagegb4.jpg

"and continues through today!"
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/pagegb7.jpg

then I used several pages of disney like quotes and added pictures/collages from different trips and years.....

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/pagegb6.jpg
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/nycetc144.jpg

the last page reads "where family share magical memories"
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/pagegb19.jpg

then the back cover .... I used a verse from our wedding ceremony
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/nycetc146.jpg

There are twenty pages with over 100 pictures. I plan on having our guests sign with colored sharpies. I used the star pages throughout to sort of go with the magical theme- "our Magically ever after." I love how it turned out:love: !

well I have been working on a few projects.... the first project is a multi page mickey ears fan.
Here is the fan I have made....the back:http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/043.jpg
the front:http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/032.jpg
( which I like) but it seemed like a lot of writing on a small area and I liked figmentfan814 (Vanessa) multi page mickey fan program so I have made one. I will post picture soon. Also decided that even though, I like the mickey crystals on flip flops I have decided to wear skechers so I am working on making them fancier with some crystals/rhinestones and hopefully some mickey head crystal designs. I will post when I get more done. I am working on a design for our family shirts for the VR too. ( we always have family shirts for our wdw vacations so figure we should have ones for the VR too( another disbride has a design I really liked for her family shirts with bride minnie and groom mickey withtwo bridesmaids so I may use that design) I have also been looking at possible bouquets... more on that later.

padisneyfour
07-04-2008, 12:43 AM
I plan on wearing skechers for comfort but thought they needed alittle bling so I have added some rhinestones..... and do they shine! (not the best picture-sorry!) will try to get another.... the rhinestones cost a total of $2.00 -I thought They looked pretty good.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/momshoes002.jpg what do you think? I still would like to add a mickey head crystal.

Thank you. . I liked how they turned out. I just decided on the shoes and had the rhinestones and thought I could add a little bling to the shoes, wasn't sure how it would look. Together both shoes took maybe an hour.... the rhinestones are in strip and then I sewed them on the mesh..:goodvibes

Everything is just great. I am also doing a photobook through Shutterfly and it is just so much fun. I think using pictures through the years is a great idea. We are doing a little bit of the same thing. I am using the red hearts theme (as our colors are red and white) but I just love the blue stars for a magical theme. I am aos hoping to make the mickey fans but as would need around 60 I might just go with making my own progams and not mickey shapped. Thanks so much for posting all your project.

Linda, have fun creating you book- it was fun when my dds and I did ours. I really considered the heart theme too ( it is pretty) you will have to post a picture when your book is done. The mickey fans ( the one I already did shown above and the new multi page one) do take time and I only have to do 25 give on take, so I couldn't pass it up. They look so cute! Good luck with whatever program you decide to do....:goodvibes Thanks too! I have enjoyed working on the different projects.

for tables.... since we won't have too many( depending on recept location) I just decided to use disney movie titles(haven't chose what specific ones) but I just took 5 by 7 photomats ( which I got for look 30 cents a piece one day) and spruced them up aliitle... I will print movie title etc insert and then just close so they stand....

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/motheroftwo/mom2010001.jpg

here is a unfinished sample of multipage mickey head fan. I will fasten together with either a star or heart shaped brads(actually just fancy shaped brass fasteners)... I added scrapbook glitter to the outside of the fan cover....you can see alittle bit of the glitter on the second picture..

additional pages inside will have music selections, attendants etc with different background pictures....

this will be the last page....

the back side of the fan will still be the same as before......

Cam, Thank you for your kind words. I am really enjoy all the projects it is something I haven't done in a long time..... here is an idea I have for the sharpies I will have for our guests to sign our guest book.I want colors so I am going to get different colored sharpies for everyone and then attach them to a mickey head cutout with a verse on it about the guest book and a thank you. Another disbride had done something similar. Here is a sample of my project. Just used black posterboard, gold ribbon and a thank you tag. The color is off. here is the front

well it will be two years from today (I hopepixiedust: ) we will be having our VR. I know that is a ways off yet but I am still excited..... I have so many ideas spinning in my head today. It is actually our 18th anniversary today and my birthday(not such a big deal). I have started trying to organize my thoughts on what to put in my welcome folders for general info purposes( I have been working on that and will post what I have soon) and I have a few more items that are HTH for the welcome bags. Dh and I have also decided we will be staying at the poly at least one night( I am hoping for two- the night before and after) and I think I have figured our what flowers I want in the bouquets... I will try to find a picture.more to come....:goodvibes

since we only have a small number of families that we will be inviting(family for the most part) I ordered a customized park maps to see what they were like and then had one sent to my moms address too, I plan on getting additional for the families attending since so few and have the time. You can only order once every 6 months. I also found a website (that may have been posted before) for LED/glow necklaces and have ordered some for DP(?):cool1: They came to like $1.60 a piece. On the same site they have LED spinning Mickey head/ball- may need to get some of those too later... will see what the necklaces are like once they arrive.

Thank you.... my family wonders though....:rotfl:

oh!! Where did you get the LED lights and necklaces!
the name is premier glow in tenessee. I just searched their site. The necklaces came yesterday- they are so COOL! They are red, yellow, blue green and purple- I think( each necklace is 5 colors anyway) and they flash the different colors.:rainbow: I ordered 24 and it was $38.00 including shipping . The spinning mickey head I thought look neat are currently out of stock. I tried to get a picture of the necklaces but it didn't work well. will try again over the weekend. In other news, per se, the customized maps came- I think they are neat looking. My plan is to include them in the welcome stuff too. then last night dh and I were talking and DH wants to wear a top hat but not with mickey ears. he wants GOOFY ears-these weren't around when we had our HM- he told me that is my next project. His favorite character is goofy. He has a vest with goofy faces to wear (similar to the mickey vests) for the VR and a tie with goofy outlined on it. The First thing is finding a top hat..... I will keep you posted:goodvibes

something I have been playing with for awhile is making my bouquet at least( flowers to me are important but not the most important if that makes sense). anyway I have been trying a few different arrangements I guess you would call them... here is one what do you think? Does it look too fake?I plan on adding some crystals and of course a mickey head on the ribbon and maybe a little bit of a third color or colored ribbon instead of white or twisted together with the white. will have to think about that.... feedback will help. I have never really done anything with flowers before. what do you think? Any Suggestions?Thanks...:goodvibes
7/13 new Update: well, I have started again and now I have found a picture to use as guide and I am currently reworking the bouquet arrangement.... will post once arranged....

well, I found a top hat for DH to wear like the mickey groom hat but instead of the mickey ears he wants Goofy Ears, so I just got a regular top hat ( and it fits too!) from ebay and I am now working on creating goofy ears......:rotfl: they won't be difficult but I am not sure what type of cloth to use yet( will have to think on that) will keep you posted.... for my bouquet - I am thinking about adding the lacy ribbon from my original wedding bouquet along with the other ribbons.

I plan on using the lenox mickey ears as my favors/placecards.originally planned on personalizing one per guest and having at tables for seating. But afraid they will get broken, so thinking of leaving them in the box - personalized( I have boxes for all) wrapping/decorating the boxes and having the boxes at the table for seating. I found some glittery tissue paper with gold stars and have sort of worked up a possible design. It sort of goes with the design I am using for our logo. I had thought about adding a ribbon around the box ,but not sure on that. what do you think? any thoughts? alternatives? Thanks for reading.:goodvibes

not doing too much. working on a few things here and there and in my head too. have decided we will use movies names for reception tables to be put in frames I already made.... the names we are def using will be cinderella, beauty and the beast, the little mermaid, Pirates of the caribbean and still need a couple more maybe toy story, jungle book, lady and the tramp etc.... I will post the pictures later of the trial version tablecards and seating cards( so when guests arrive they know what table to look for) that I have been working on.Then on the tables will be the wrapped ears at each seat. I would like to have each table have colored linens( or maybe just a colored runner/napkin) to tie in with each movie ( maybe red for Pirates, light blue for cinderella etc.)and then some little item to go along with the movie too., i.e. glass slippers for cinderella, a rose for beauty and the beast etc.... thats all for now. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me, its a beginning....:goodvibes

here are the frames...they are photomats decorated. I think I paid something like thirty cents for each one.

well, I thought I would post my trial version of table and seating cards. The seating cards are tent cards and I decided that inside each one( according to theme) I will use a quote from the movie,i.e. Cinderella " A dream is a wish your heart makes...." I thought they turned out pretty good considering I just used word. What do you think? BTW, I am open for movie quote ideas too....thanks for reading.:goodvibes

Linda, Thank you. I was happy with how they turned out.:goodvibes

I think I have managed to find all my quotes too! Some were def. more difficult than others..... here is what I have so far....

for cinderella.... " a dream is a wish your heart makes" -this was easy!
toy story.... " to infinity, and beyond!"
little mermaid( part of a song) "such wonderful things around you"
jungle book..." forget about your worries and your strife"
POTC...." Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate"
Beauty and the beast.... "True beauty comes from within..."

I also have a mickey and minnie "sweet heart" table card made too. I even added a little not so hidden mickey inside the tent cards below the quotes.

any thoughts? I am still open for additional ideas.... Thanks for reading :goodvibes

I am going to do an email questionaire to all of our guests about 6 weeks before so that I will know exactly who needs rides from where and flight information for people heading to the airport from the reception. I haven't thought about really anywhere but the florals, so I am not sure....but it is an idea!:thumbsup2 Thanks for reading

Val thanks, :goodvibes its a work in progress but a start.... I only plan on having four tables along with a sweetheart table so not alot of centerpieces to do so I can have some fun "creating" them..... My plan is that each table will have a different colored centerpiece (movie title /theme), will see how that comes together. Thanks for reading:goodvibes

Tammy -- That is such a cool idea! I agree that with fewer tables to manage, we can be a bit more creative and not so constrained by a budget. We also have 4 guest tables and a sweetheart table, but we are using our aisle floral from the wedding pavilion for our guest tables & the altar piece for the sweetheart table. Are you thinking of coordinating the linen colors with the theming, as well?

Cam, I am glad you like the idea.I plan just to add a splash of coordinating linen color, like napkins and/or table runner etc. sort of what you had in mind for DP. The other colors I have in mind are light blue for Cinderella, green for jungle book and orange for toy story. I want it to look nice and FUN, not empty but trying to conserve $ where I can for other things.... :goodvibes

Tammy -- I LOVE the ideas for colors. You'll have 3 "brights" -- orange, red & green and one kind of pastel -- Cinderella blue. Have you thought yet about what color you'd use for the sweetheart table? Or are you thinking of doing the pastel blue for the sweetheart table and another "bright" for your fourth guest table?

I have been working on centerpiece idea for cinderella table along the lines of the POTC posted above. This would be clear container filled light blue (?- right now tiussue paper)then I added a styrofoam pumpkin 3/4 around outside bottom of container with glass slipper in front.( sort of hard to picture, I know...) Then put silk white roses with light blue and white carnations in the container/vase. I have a light blue frame w/ table card and would use lightblue overlay linens (napkins/runner).I am looking for a silver star wand to add with florals. will post a pic soon....

Sorry..girl. I forgot to check up on those sizes for you!
We checked into Michaels, but neither me or my sister could remember the size. I am pretty sure you got it figured out though..there weren't to many to choose from!

They look great so far! We used a shear ribbon on ours so that we weren't trying to match color so much..if that helps.. it was yellow.. but much more subtle than a solid one would have been!

Let me know if you need anything else!
Was hydrangea what you used? We just plucked tons of hydrangea and pinned the individual petals down? Looks pretty similar...

well I got an idea for the toy story table centerpiece so I started it... the table card frame is orange so thats the color I started with. I used a clear container w/orange tissue and then added orange gerber daisies. then sat it in "created" a toy box. I have to add the toys, mickey crystals etc yet.... very early stages mind you. It would also have coordinating linens(napkins/table runner)
I am still in the thought stages for a centerpiece for the jungle book table, but the main color will be green with leaves and I am thinking an orchid or two (yellow/maybe white?)in the floral arrangement - just started trying to visualize...more to come....

The sweetheart table will be mickey and minnie, it will have my bouquet and then couple mini bouquets to match (to be given out as special thank yous).....I am still looking for a special frame for our table card.
I plan on adding confetti(mickey shaped, castle and tinkerbelle shaped to each table as well).

well, here is a new pic of the toy story table centerpiece(not finished version but close).... the containers in front are actually plastic baby blocks with the top cut out will act as seat cards and will hold bag of candies(M&M, jelly beans etc..- not sure yet) All guests will find their seat cards w/their name and then have to find their specific table by movie title/color and choose their seat at that table. Every table will have something similar relating to a specific movie and different color,i.e. the Toy story table (as you can see) will be orange.Any thoughts? Thanks for reading

I went to the Dollar store the other day , and I found this cute padded frame to use for our sweetheart table card. All the guests table cards are in colored frames and I wanted something different for ours. I moved the bow to the corner and added a crystal mickey but for 75 cents I think it looks pretty good. The fabric is satiny with a bit of a shine with floral leaf/vine prints, the ribbon and bow have the scalloped edges with a floral design and some shimmer. I know another dis bride mentioned to check the dollar stores because you never know what you'll find and I will second that!
Otherwise, I added some shimmer to my youngest DDs mickey shaped pomander- she requested it after she saw the other bouquets. It was a little harder to do just because it had to hang as I did it. I may have to add more shimmer/"pixie dust" -will see what it looks like when it dries. Thanks for reading:goodvibes

The smaller ones , I will use with the bouquets. The more I look at the sweetheart table set up, I think it will come together nicely in the end, but sometimes when you have an idea in your head and then actually see it ;what you see versus what others see can be different so it does help having others perspectives/opinions (besides my DDs...though they do help me alot with the projects :goodvibes ) Thanks everyone! well for the first time today.... I actually tried my gown with my bouquet and then shoes just to see it all together once. (The dress is at my mothers so I hadn't ever had everything together) I took some pics of the shoes with the gown(pulled up so you can see them) and the bouquet on the train. The train is actually embellished with lavender colored flowers- though very light. I was happy how everything looked together....:goodvibes Thanks for reading. more to come....

Thank you,,, I would love to wear some of the shoes that have been posted -they are so pretty, but I am not one to wear heals so I figured go for comfort and dress them up bit. The sparkles are just a string of rhinestones from walmart ($2.00 I think I paid) that I "sewed" (well just stitched) on the mesh but it really adds shine and sparkle! Thanks for reading and good luck with all your plans too!:goodvibes

well I have been undecided about a bride hat..... I don't really want the headband ears. anyway, I found this bride hat on ebay for $1.00 plus shipping(it came to $3.25 w/shipping) so I got it. I purchased some shiny tulle for the veil /bow earlier today . Now I Need to create the ears....will keep you posted.... here is the hat. That's all for now.:goodvibes

I am still working on the ears, I have white ones done but DH said he thought they should be black, so not sure what they will be in the end.... I am looking for your thoughts.... should the bride hat have white ears or black ears? Neither set of ears is the final version, but just looking for your thoughts on what color the ears should be? I made the white first, but DH thought they should be black? :confused3
I like both, the black just because they are "different" for bride ears and more " Minnie" like , but the white in someways looks better too. I know this is not an earth shattering question by any means, just wondering....

We ordered our hats (I believe the same one lukyloo used). DF'S is black with white writing and mine is white with black writing. When our local Disney store was closing :scared1: they were giving out Mickey ears (kids size) in black so I just used these. I cut off the ears and there are two little holes in the base of each ear. The hats I purchaed had vent holes in them and the two on the sides are the perfect place to put the ears. I purchased paper brads and just put a brad through the hole in the ear and then through the hole in the hat and opened the brad when it got through the hat. I need to put a small hole on each side for the second hole. The ears stay on fine and I do not need to use any glue. This way we can just take the ears off and use the hat again. Not sure if we want to wear the ears on the way down but this way we can wear the hats.

Anyway, after all that, I am using black ears on both hats and I think ether one looks fine on your hat. I looks like your Bride is in rhinestones so the white might look better. Sorry that was so long.

Tammy, first I think both hats look great! You did a nice job with them.

Honestly, I think both of them are adorable. The black ears are more true to "Mickey" and "Minnie" but the white does look better with the hat!

I think maybe the white ones look better just because they meld with the gold and white of the hat a bit better! Just MHO! Are you making one for DH?

Linda and Amy, Thanks for your responses.... I am still pondering( both DDs like black ears too, now that they have seen them on the hat). The ears are just pinned on now until I decide....

Amy, Dh wants a top hat, but with goofy ears( his favorite character). I have the top hat and a hat band made with wide blue ribbon with "goofy" in rhinestones on it, so it looks sort like goofys hat but have to work on the ears yet... will post a pic later.:goodvibes

My tinkerbelle punch finally arrived.... I plan on using it to make confetti to go with a castle and mickey head. Also have been looking a different lunch menus to try and get ideas. We were originally looked at using the tinkerbelle brunch menu with some adjustments( and may well be what we end up choosing) but wanted to get some other options/ideas too. I know they will customize menus . I think a buffet would be our best option. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. we are looking at a noon ceremony, so the main meal would be approx. 2: 00 give or take , so I don't want anything too heavy but yet enough to be filling until evening DP party. Thanks for reading... more to come:goodvibes

Today I worked on alterations on my dress again, the sleeves and then the hem, just pinning and checking lengths etc. I was concerned the sleeves wouldn't work the way I planned to shorten them, but it DID! :cool1: I did decide that I am going to add additional colored tulle /netting to the underskirt for some fullness and see how that looks then if I want a criinie I can get that later..... more to come. I wish I had a clue....about hair, make up and even jewelry..not a strong suit for me. I am rather a plain jane. My hair currently is just about shoulder length and very straight. It will hold some curl for awhile . I like wearing make up but don't wear it often. my everyday jewelry is limited to my wedding band and my e ring(yes I still wear it), necklace and maybe earrings. these are areas where I def need help!:goodvibes Suggestions?

Laura, Thank you so very much.:goodvibes Yes DH's ring matches mine. When we got married we purchased a bridal trio set but DH lost his band several years ago and we just bought him a plain gold band as a replacement, so we really wanted our rings to match for our VR.

Thanks for the support about the website, I was happy with it and have gotten some nice responses back too! As for the inspiration board I am using bridalcanvas .com. I made one just to see how to it would look in word but I am now recreating it via that site. I just started with pics I had and began to group and arrange them.
