I remember reading a previous thread concerning moisture problems when using a videocamera. Since I can't search for this thread does anyone remember the particulars concerning this problem? We have a Panasonic PVL-858 Palmsight that we would like to bring but if we won't be able to adapt it to use we will just leave it home. Thanks for your help!

We had minor problems with the dampness- nothing to leave the camera home for. I think it only happened like twice the whole trip. We love the videos and really enjoy watching them while waiting on our next trip! Take it and enjoy- memories of a lifetime!

Hi
Minor humidity should not hurt the cam, however... Save the Silica gel packs you get with various items. If you keep your camera in a bag and do not have your room frozen it will be ok. If you tend to leave it on the bed or dresser then I would suggest you try to keep the cold air off of it by wrapping the camera in a towel. The problems come when you bring the camera from a cold (cool) environment to a warm humid one. Other than that you should not have a probelm. Enjoy your trip.

We also wrapped our camera in a towel, and stored it in the closet. It worked fine.
We had a verranda, we would put it outside for about 5 minutes prior to leaving the room to help it aculamate. On the few occasions prior to us doing this, I simply open the camcorder and removed the tape for a minute or two outside and this seemed to help also..smjj
