San Diego Zoo on Mother's Day

Would I be crazy to go on Mother's Day? Here in Mi. the Zoo is really busy on Mother's day. I am assuming all parks will be busy. Anyone ever go on Mother's day?

I have been to the zoo on Mother's day, and yes it is a bit crowded. Sundays have quite the local crowd normally, and add in the "special" day, it is a bit more.
However, the zoo is really large, so other than the entry plaza area, the zoo rarely seems too crowded to enjoy.
As a local, we do the 9-11:30 thing because as soon as the place smacks of getting busy, we flee. So, get there early and as it gets more crowded, take a deep breath, and shuffle with the crowd!!

thanks. We are deciding between disneyland and the zoo and I think we will try the zoo. It is Mother's Day and the main reason we are coming to so. cal. is for me to go to the zoo so why not on Mother's Day!

With a choice of the Zoo or DL...on Mother's day, the zoo is a much better choice!!!!

I went to the zoo on Mother's Day 2 years ago and it really wasn't that bad.
