The easiest decision I ever had to make was picking my wedding party.
My best friend (apart from DF) who is also my cousin but more like my sister is my MOH. She just had to be. We made that decision when I was 8 and she was 7. It's funny because on the way home from the falls we stopped to see her. She was the first person that we told about our engagement and she already knew she was MOH. She's great! She'll be posting on here soon too. She already has a huge organized disney binder started and it's all color coded and organized. It's great! She's really a great MOH and has really helped me with everything from the beginning.

I never really wanted to have bridesmaids. I don't know why but it's just not me. I wanted to incorporate my brother in there since we are very close but I wasn't sure how. I just decided that he will be my co-man-of-honor. He's in denial right now but I'm getting him in pink somehow.

DF picked his dad to be best man. I cried when he told me. I think that is so special. They are really close so I thought that was nice.

I never really wanted to have flower girls or ring bearers either but DF's nieces were flower girls in his sister's wedding a couple of months ago and they were just too precious. That changed my mind but I don't have any little kids in my family and I'm not sure that DF's sister will be able to make it to Florida for the wedding so I didn't want to ask them yet. I have really cute plans for them if they do though. It's exciting!

I did however, find out that I am going to be an aunt in August :cheer2: so I will have a very cute toddler ring bearer or flower girl. How adorable!
My cousin was my MOH, we are 9 years apart her birthday is March 4th and Mine is March 5th I decided when she was born she would be my MOH.

My MOH and I were talking this past tuesday and we are thinking of "faking it up" for my wedding. It's the one time we get to get all dressed up and feel princess-y and we want to go all out. Now, I know most girls want to stay as natural as possible with the make up and do up-dos but my MOH and I, we need to do our own thing. I already have long hair, but my MOH has shorter hair and we want to get extensions. I want some for my vavoom factor. We want to get the fake lashes put in and the fake nails and of course, we cannot forget the fake spray tan. My MOH literally needs spf 50 in order to go outside and we don't want to be all pale showing up in Florida. For some reason I'm really looking forward to this. Is this normal or am I actually losing my mind? We're going to do it in a classy way. I still want to look like me but with more of a "photo shoot" look.
I say do what makes you happy I think it sounds like fun.

I just realized today that these PJs really help you organize your wedding thoughts in a rational way. I already find it helping me out. I think DF and I are going to have to do a wishes wedding after all. I don't think we are going to invite everybody in our family anyway but out of the people that we do want to invite I believe we are already over the max. for an escape wedding. Our immediate family is going to stay for our disneymoon and make a family vacation celebration out of it so I'm sure we'll have no problem with the min. room requirements. Phew. One less thing to stress about.

I really want to make the 24 hour drive down to disney instead of flying. I'm not doing it to try and save money or anything, I think it may equal out to the same amount but I'm already having panic attacks over my wedding dress on the plane. I also don't want to be limited to the amount of luggage that I can bring with me and how will I transport all of my wedding stuff and gifts and vacation stuff otherwise? Plus I'd have to rent a car at the airport anyway to get my Florida marriage license so this way I'll already have a car and that is another thing I don't have to worry about.
You can get a marriage license in the mail also that is what I did

I plan on doing that since I live in a different country. Hopefully there will not be a problem with that.

Thanks :) The haters hated my theme (big surprise). They thought it was so childish. Whatever. :cool2: I originally wanted my MOH to wear pale pink, like the tie, but she has red hair and never wears pink because she feels it clashes. I'll see if I can persuade her muhahahahah pirate:

Hi everybody,

I'm feeling well enough to get back to writing my pj. My in-laws and I just went through a sudden loss in the family, as you already know by now, and the arrangements were out of town so I was gone for a bit. Of course this all happened during a HUGE snow storm where we received enough snow to break a record from 30 years ago. After the funeral, my family actually got lost in the storm and ended up seeing various car accidents ranging from minor to severe. Not always a good thing when you are already sad from a funeral but we did the best that we could.
The past couple of weeks have been a little rocky. I'm currently dealing with a very serious illness that now has me in treatment 2 times a week. Just in the past week I had a bit of an emergency with a tooth. I know it sounds like "oh it's just a tooth" but considering all that has been going on, it's just sort of like "what next?" you know?
Anyway, now it is just nice to get back to some fun stuff in my life and planning my wedding!

DF has FINALLY agreed to send out our official announcements for our DFTW!!!!!! He has been very apprehensive about sending them out because he didn't want to receive a thousand phone calls from people asking all these details when we really haven't set anything in stone yet. We can't officially book our date for next year yet and since our guest list is jumping all over the place we can't even pick a venue either. In the next couple of days we'll talk about the guest list and send out our announcements to get a general idea of a guest count. I will include a mini quiz because I have some surprises up my sleeve but I can't post what they are unfortunately because my SIL comes on here and I want to keep it a surprise for her as well. I'll post a picture as soon as I am done.
In regards to the general wedding planning, DF and I pretty well see eye to eye which I think is pretty fantastic however, the guest list is where we divide. I've mentioned this in an earlier post but DF wants to keep it small and intimate. I don't want an enormous affair but I don't want to deny people who are close to us to come to our wedding. I'm sure we'll eventually meet middle ground but I'm still not sure where that is at this point. I would LOVE to be able to do ADH or the great movie ride I just completely blocked it out of my mind because I didn't think people would respond well to a destination wedding. Well it now seems that the demand to come may evolve to surpass my expectations. I have family members volunteering other family members and even family friends. I think my middle ground will even surprise me.

You will know what feels right, about who to invite.... who do you want there to share this (your) day.....we have pretty much kept our planned guests to immediate family: siblings w/their families and our parents because they are who we want there. You will know whats right for you both....:goodvibes

We have finally set the guest list I am happy to report. It is officially going to be
immediate family only i.e. parents, brothers, sisters, spouses and their children; My MOH, who I consider my sister, and one aunt and three cousins on DF's side who he is very close to. That brings the official total to 26. I am happy with this number and even more thrilled that we are sharing this with the people we consider to be truly special to us. We believe it will be more personal and we will be able to share more one-on-one time with these people.

I am sooooooooooooooooo excited! I am going to officially start my dress shopping in a couple of weeks!!!! I couldn't sleep the other night thinking about it. I'm going to go to a place near where I live first. My SIL bought her dress from there and I was with her and the service was absolutely amazing! They are very nice and really listen to what you are looking for. They also sell a lot of designer stuff which I'm really excited about too! There are few shops here that do this. If I cannot find anything I'm going to try and go to a place where I'm supposed to be moving to in the next year. They are about a 7 hour drive though so we'll see how that goes but they carry the disney wedding dresses. I really have my eye on a couple of those. I think there were a few other brides who were getting married and moving all in a short period of time also. It's crazy I tell you. DF and I are also going to be starting new careers paths as well.

Hi!!
I'm Pink Tink's MOH/cousin (like a sister)/best friend and I'm jumping on the messaging bandwagon! I'm very excited about the whole Disney wedding idea, and I'll be delighted to be in a hot place (living in Canada, I'm freezing cold from October to May) I know weddings take an awful lot of planning and organization, and planning one that will take place 2000km away is going to be quite a challenge! But I love my cousin and her DF dearly, and I'm up for it!
I wonder if any other MOHs out there have any tips for helping to plan something like this? Brides, what is the best thing you think your MOH could do for you?
Cheers to all!

I've been talking to DF a lot lately about our wedding and showing him pictures, it turns out he is really repulsed about the idea of anything feathers to be there :rotfl2: This is news to me! I've been posting feathers galore on here after I showed him a picture of the feather centerpieces and now he has decided that the feathers need to be "plucked" from the wedding. I love the idea but I don't want him to hate the whole thing so now I'm going to re look at centerpieces. I'm thinking about roses.

Also, we can't seem to agree on locations either. I know it will all work out but it is a bit frustrating. He is really gun ho on a restaurant like Vic & Al's because he thinks we'll be like 5 people. I said that if 5 people came we could go to a restaurant but since we're almost 30 people we need to pick an alternative. I personally like the GF white room or the great movie ride. DF thinks the characters are going to be too cheesy and nobody will have a good time. He's also set a back with the whole western theme for dining. I just think it is really different and from the looks of it really fun!

Furthermore, a ceremony location isn't going well either. I want epcot and he wants the SBP. I like SBP just not a fan of having my ceremony on display for all to see. We both love the beach idea but I'm thinking that might turn out to be pricey. It's $2500 to rent the beach and then I have to pay set up fees and decorations. I think I'd have to extensively decorate here more than at epcot but maybe that's just me.

I personally think that hair style is really pretty. And flattering on most people too!
Please forgive my ignorance, but I'm not yet familiar with all the acronyms. What is the GF white room? And the SBP? I agree with you both that a beach sound just lovely... There must be less costly beaches, no? And wouldn't anywhere else at Disney be around the same price anyway? I could be wrong, but I'd like to look in all the corners before we let go of an idea that you both like. Maybe we'll get lucky!
He doesn't like the feathers? Not a problem. We'll find something else. Tell DF he'll have a completely feather-free (ie. bald) wedding.

GF = Grand Floridian Hotel
SBP = Sea Breeze Point

Well the GF beach costs $1000 more than all the other sites but like you said I'll get a quote before I go all OCD and have a panic attack.

Of course I don't mind if you take the idea. It is actually not my idea in the first place. I was inspired from past DIS brides. The picture was just my idea and the layout. Here is the template:

http://kids.creativity-portal.com/images/projects/door.hanger/dh-white.pdf

here is the picture I used:

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/747/174604cinderella3.jpg

I chose this one because cinderella is in a wedding dress so you can use this one or just google cinderella under images and then select one that you like.

I printed the image and the template. I cut out the template.

Then I opened word and aligned all my writing in the center.

Then I used my favorite trick, I static clinged the cut out door hanger to my screen so I can see where I needed to align my text, clever I know ;)

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/747/174604staticcling.JPG

let's pretend that was the cut out template. Print that out and then cut and paste on your template and you got yourself a protoype.

I'm either going to use bristol board or foam for the final product. I'll post when I have it.

Earth friendly tip, after you print one try to at least fit 2 templates per page :thumbsup2

Your door hangers are great -- thank you so much for sharing the instructions. I've just added them to my to-do list. ;)

My pleasure :goodvibes

I love your hairstyle you picked... so pretty

Thank you so much!

mini update: I found my MOH dress!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm very excited because it's pink. I originally wanted my MOH to wear pink but she doesn't wear it because of her hair color but we found an awesome dress that was a coral (but more on the pink side) that looked just spectacular on her!!!!!! I think it's supposed to be a prom dress and it's at a regular chain store and she can buy it right off the rack!!!!!! It doesn't even need to be hemmed or anything. We were freaking out in the store :goodvibes What's more is my MOH tried on 2 different dresses one long and one short but we went with the long because I liked it better on her. I brought my mom to show her the dress today and she's going to buy the shorter dress in the same color. I'm so loving the matching colors you have no idea.

Because the dress it at a regular store I couldn't get a photo of it but I found a very similar one from Impressions bridal. It is the same concept and fabric but no train and no slit.

Here is what the color looks like:
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/747/174604coral.jpg
It wasn't originally a color I would have picked because I wanted a plae pink but I'm actually really happy about the color.

Wedding dress dramarama!!!!! I called a dress store to make an appointment to try on wedding dresses this morning, I ask to make an appointment and then they ask me when I'm getting married so I say next year. The woman asks me to hold on a sec. Next thing I know the manager is on the phone and asks me when I'm getting married so I tell him that I'm getting married next year and then he asks why I want to start looking for my dress so early and how I heard about their store. OMG! does it freakin' matter? I just want to try on dresses. He goes on to explain that I should at least wait until July because the 2009 collection will be out. Anyway, he talked so much that the battery on my portable phone had time to run out!!! I told him 3 times that it didn't matter and that I just wanted to try dresses on. I'm already frustrated and I just started. Anyway else experience something similar?

That was so unbelievably rude of that guy! That is one thing that has annoyed me throughout the whole planning process...whether it is looking for the dress, shopping for the wedding band, etc., so many vendors acted like since my wedding wasn't like a month away, it wasn't important yet and I didn't even need to be thinking about things like rings or dresses yet. They are selling a product, and should be happy that someone is interested in seeing it, no matter when they are getting married! Besides, you are only 16 months out (not like it's 16 years!!), and there is nothing wrong with wanting to get started with your planning.

Unfortunately, IMO some bridal shops can be very snooty. There is one near my house that I went to one day after work and the guy wouldn't even let me in the door because I didn't have an appointment! So I wrote that shop off and took my money elsewhere. Don't take it personally...if they act like that on the phone to a bride-to-be, then it probably isn't a place you would want to buy your dress from anyway. I'm sorry he acted like such a jerk and made you upset!

How obnoxious! And he's a very bad manager/salesman too--why does he assume that it's important for you to be trendy and have a 2009 collection dress? I mean, that's totally FINE and GREAT, IF that's what you want, but my point is that it's not for him to say.

My wedding is at the end of January 2009, and I already bought my dress in early March of this year. I like to do things ahead of time.

The next time you speak to a bridal salon who's giving you a hard time about wanting to try a dress on ahead of time, just listen to them and ask them point blank in a very confident tone, "So, you're saying that you're not going to let me into your store to see any gowns, or to try them on, right?"

That pseudo-rhetorical question should make the salesperson stop babbling and look/feel stupid enough to give you the answer you want to hear. If it doesn't, and they ask you to come back later, you can politely tell them that you're not interested.

Many of these salons will do anything to make a buck, but their bad behavior shouldn't go unchecked. Any dress that one has can be found at another, after all!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Don't be too worried, there are so many bridal salons and they all have completely different attitudes; you'll find one that suits you.

Just remember not to reward bad policies! If you feel snubbed by one of them, or they are not respectful towards you at this point (even this early on in your planning stages), just go elsewhere!

I could hardly believe it too! There are a ton of dresses from this season that I'm just dying to try on so why make me wait 3 more months when I could walk in and buy an older model? Because they are on sale now? I don't know what the problem is. Iy's really crappy because my SIL bought her dress there and I thought the service was really great. It's bad enough that you aren't allowed to take pictures in there even after you buy a dress from them but honestly, I'm kind of annoyed to go there. I'm sure I could have sorted it out if my phone hadn't died but still. I know I'm early but who cares if I'm spending money. Actually now that I think about it there is another thing about that store that pissed me off. They don't allow any men in the store except for employees. When I went with my SIL to buy her dress the sales woman clearly stated this when I said I wanted to go with my fiancee. We're not super traditional and he wanted to come and I didn't have a problem with it so why get all annoyed?

Thanks. You're definitely right, I shouldn't reward a snooty attitude and I should go elsewhere. I'm like you as well and like to be ahead of the game and get things done early. Besides I'm just STARTING to look at dresses and trying them on so why turn off a potential client.

That is truly awful and I'm glad you've ruled that store out of your plans!! I went dress shopping today and was VERY scared to be honest. I'm a plus size girl and the thought of someone I didnt know seeing me in my underwear terrified me! And I thought the staff would be skinny and snooty and none of the dresses would fit - however, they made me feel beautiful and were extremely helpful and positive and honest - those are the sort of people you need around you when trying on dresses. Sorry for babbling, back to the point, the lady told us today that they had someone in the store who has purchased their dress for their wedding in September 2010!!! So there are stores out there who take orders far in advance, like you said - your money is just as good as everyone elses. It's there loss!! ;)

What bad customer service! I wonder what his cut off point is....you are only allowed in the store 1 year before your wedding date, 8 months........? And they don't allow men in the store.....that is just strange! What if you wanted your father to come? Anyway, I hope you find a nicer store and have a positive experience.

You have to fib your way through the whole wedding-dress shopping process. Tell them it's 8 months away, or whatever. They don't need to know it's a year away. And when you finally order the dress, move up your wedding day by a month when they're filling out your form so that it arrives in time. A lot of shops take your money and then sit on your order for a few months before they actually contact the manufacturer. So if you give them an earlier deadline, they will order it earlier.

When I went to David's to get my bolero and the sales clerk put my wedding date into the ordering info, the computer told her the bolero wouldn't arrive until the week before my wedding (I needed to have collar and cuffs attached by a seamstress and I was leaving town 4 days before the wedding) :scared1:

Even the sales clerk was incredulous, so she typed in a made-up wedding date, and my bolero arrived two weeks later.

That's terrible! I told my bridal shop that our wedding was in December this year, but was dependent on confirming with Disney. I only wanted to try a dress on but they were more than happy to order it when I decided to go ahead.

I then told them it might not be until next year depending on Disney and they had no problem ordering it. I managed to haggle a lot too as I was ordering so far ahead and they would have my money nice and early.

I would either not bother with them or call back and lie about when your wedding is like I did!

Good luck :goodvibes

Yesterday my MOH and I went for lunch and before returning home I had just wanted to show her a dress that we both had liked the last time we went dress shopping. We only say it on a billboard in the store but it wasn't in this particular store. We went in and just for fun I asked her to try it on. Well, we both immediately fell ion love with it and after having it on in the store for 20 minutes she bought it!!!!!!! The dress fits her like a glove and because there was a little dirt on the dress she got 10% off!!! The dress is yellow instead of pink BUT I decided to keep the pink focus on me and have her have pink and yellow flowers.

She took many a costume designer classes and wants to take off the hideous silver beading and redo it also in silver. I think it's going to look great. Her friend is going to bustle it for her so she can dance without breaking her neck

P.S. she thinks she wants to lose some weight before the wedding  . If I told you her dress size you'd send her hate mail ;)

I personally would have told the bridal salon to kiss off, but since the dress you want is there, why don't you just call them & tell them you've moved up the wedding date & give them one really soon. It's none of their business anyway as long as they have time to order it & do any necessary alterations.

If it makes you feel any better I am also limited to certain things living in Canada. Especially disney stuff. It has something to do with licensing. I am so glad you don't have to deal with that store anymore, and I am sorry you are having trouble finding things - if you see anything you like you can always have it shipped to me and I can send it over to you or I can get. :)

AWWWWW  that is the sweetest thing! thank you so much. I may have to take you up on your offer sometime ;) I almost ordered the wrong sized envelopes. I'm using 6x6 and was going to buy 6x6 envelopes and realized at the last second that they would never fit. Boxes? you mean for your invitations?

That's so funny! I can't wait to see yours too! did you fill out the part on the order form where they ask you where you heard about them? Because I totally put the disney DIS boards. Don't want them thinking, what the heck it that.

Furthermore, the baby's due date is Jan. 1st!!!! how fun is that!!! I just had to share the good news! My other niece or nephew (from my brother) is due this august!!! I am happy to announce that I found another store that carries the dress so I don't need to bother with them. :yay:

Brilliant news! So glad you don't have to go back to them - nasty people

If it makes you feel any better I am also limited to certain things living in Canada. Especially disney stuff. It has something to do with licensing. I originally wanted the disney invitations but couldn't get them delivered here. I ended up finding the seals on ebay. If you could get some seals, how many would you need?

It sucks doesn't it?! I would probably need around 20 seals or less for the STD cards and the invitations. I'll have to have a good look around again on ebay rather than internet wedding places. I don't mind paying for postage but it really annoys me when they rip you off. Some place wanted $25 postage for some labels to the UK!!

I'm so freaking excited!!! my invitations got held up at customs for a bit but are finally in!!! Oh and did I mention that they are not exactly in my possession? They dropped them off yesterday while I wasn't home and sent me a card to go pick up my parcel at the post office. I rushed over there this morning to find out that they had not received the box at that location yet!!! Frustrating! You know when you are so excited and close to something you can almost taste it, that's how I feel. But I'm still excited they are here!!! I'll post pics asap

That's what I am doing too. It's such a pain, but they didn't have the exact color I wanted at C&P. I hope you don't have tons of them to do! I only have to do 15, so it could be MUCH worse.

I only have a few to do so I'm happy about that. I originally didn't want to use C&P for those because they only had white, ivory cream etc and I wanted pink...but I couldn't find them in pink anywhere else and I wasn't going to cut out tons of cardstock so I settled

The ribbon says: snow white with and apple icon, cinderella with a slipper icon, and sleeping beauty with a crown icon.

Here's the wording:

Once in awhile right in the middle of an ordinary life
love gives us a fairytale...

We
S&J
invite you to join us for a fairy tale wedding -
the beginning of our Happily Ever After

then all the wedding details.

It took my MOH and I 2 hours to afix the ribbon to the pocketfolders, albeit we had a bottle of wine so that may of had something to do with it. Oh and did I mention we only made 10 of them? First we tried to glue gun the ribbon on but that was a disaster. It made this huge clump behind the ribbon which wasn't attractive. We decided to use double sided tape which I didn't have so we ran to the store half in the bag (we walked, I assure you) to get the tape. Got back and realized that the tape was too big for the ribbon and had to trim it down piece by piece to fit on the back of the ribbon. We got this brilliant idea that we had to whisper while we did this? Did we really think that the ribbon wouldn't stick if we talked normally. I don't know but needless to say it was a long night.

I was talking to DF a couple of days ago about having an at home reception for people that couldn't make it to our DFTW and surprisingly he said that he wanted one  This is coming from a man who doesn't want a photographer at his wedding because he doesn't want to pay for it, so I was shocked to say the least. Now I'm sitting here feeling a little overwhelmed by this. Should I rent a hall, have it in somebody's back yard? Go to a restaurant? I'd like to keep things very simple. Maybe even a bbq. Is that tacky?

Hi pink_tink. So, we're doing a reception at home too after our DFTW. I'll agree with you, it's very overwhelming. What is now our "reception" started out as a "little party." So, planning for Disney and the thing back at home feels like I'm planning two weddings. Two florists, two photographers... :faint:

We first rented a ballroom, which was much cheaper than most fire-halls... but it was all downhill from there. My helpful advice is to keep your life easy and be careful that you don't end up essentially planning a second wedding. In retrospect, I think a restaurant would be great. You don't have to decorate it. You don't have to look for a caterer. You won't feel the need to get a photographer. Good luck with it all :)

This is what we are probably going to be doing for our at home reception after the wedding as well. At first, I too was concerned that this would be tacky but the idea is growing on me! DF and I have a lot to discuss in terms of who we are inviting to our disney wedding. I think out of courtesy we should invite everybody as we know not everybody can make it and then those who can't make it can come to the at home reception if they so choose. DF doesn't like this idea because he would like our disney reception to be small but wants to have an at home reception. I think not inviting people to the initial wedding would leave a sour taste in some people's mouths i.e. I'm not good enough for the disney wedding but I'm good enough to give you a gift for your at home reception even thought we are going to state we don't want any gifts of any kind. We'll see what happens with that but in the mean time I went shopping yesterday and found the nicest invites for our at home reception or if we choose to invite the rest of the family.

It came in this kit, you get 25 invites, the decorations for the invites, the envelopes, the rsvp cards and the envelopes and I paid $8.99 for the whole thing!!!!!

I also found the cutest shoes that I could change into at my disney reception so I can be more comfortable

Sabrina -- LOVE the pink ballet shoes. Are they from Payless? I have a pair of AE flats from payless that are really adorable (unfortunately, they are NOT comfortable as there is no cushion between the ball of my foot and the floor, so I put a pair of gel cushions in the front). Definitely wear them around your house (and on non-rug) to be sure they are comfy enough for your big day! :)

I'm doing a BBQ "reception" at home after my DFTW. So no worries... I don't think it's tacky at all.

Yes! I got them at payless for $10. I wore them all day today. I didn't have any problem with comfort but maybe that is because they are slightly too big? I'm only going to wear them for the reception because DF is 6'3 and I'm only 5'4 so I'd like to look a little taller in our pictures otherwise we look awkward together.

I need to have a major vent and I knew this was a good place to do it. All of sudden I feel like OUR wedding (DF and I) is getting a little out of control. Members of our families are trying to take over. Some are complaining about the quest list and others are trying to add guests. After I showed a family member some of the mickey stuff I got for the welcome bags they asked "oh did you change your theme, I thought it was Cinderella" so I explained that it was but that I'd like to have other disney touches and they basically asked me to make up my mind. People are complaining about our reception location and basically telling us that they really won't accept anything that isn't traditional. We NEED to have an open bar and we NEED to have a dj and we NEED to invite certain people. It is all getting a little ridiculous. My mom has already told me out front that she won't eat anything that I choose. My dad insists that there be sea food and sushi. Not everybody eats that. People are inviting themselves. It's like, um, no. It's all getting to be a little too much. phew..I feel better now.

There is just something about a wedding that gives people the idea that they can interfere, I mean give suggestions and tell you what you should eat, drink, who you should invite..... and on and on. Yesterday someone said to me "****** said you are having characters at your wedding, he is just joking right" as he laughed. I said very proudly "Yes we are having characters, Mickey and Minnie." :3dglasses I was also given some advice on the guest list. :3dglasses I say it is your wedding, invite who you want, eat what you want, if you don't want a DJ don't have one...... Everyone will eat, drink, and have fun and you will have the wedding of your dreams!

Several people have told me that all this drama is going to be forgotten on your wedding day, whether the people who were difficult get what they want or not. So just focus on you and what you need, and everything will pan out okay.

Thats no fair at all :sad2: . Your weddings not something you re enjoying organising at the moment its more like a chore & thats when you know somethings gotta give. The whole term YOUR WEDDING should indicate to everyone else that its up to you & your df where you have it, what you eat etc etc. Its disrespectful to you both to have people saying they want this & they want that. People have already lived out their dreams when they had their wedding so they should sit back & let you & your df live out yours :) .

Id stick to everything you want for your wedding, dont bend for anyone as why should you have to. People should be there to support you & enjoy the special occasion, they re not there to get a free meal. I would just be blunt & say that this is how your weddings gonna be, this is who you want to attend & dont be swayed by what anyone says. Your parents probably mean well & dont realise what they re saying is hurting you so just be honest with them. You dont need to have anything other than the things you & your df truely want. Its your wedding, remember that :cutie: . You re suppose to enjoy planning it ::yes:: , dont let people put a dampener on what should be a very special time for you. As for items going in a goody bag, what does it matter what your theme is. You re having a Disney wedding so anything Disney goes:thumbsup2

Alright ladies and gents I got my dress today!!!!!!!!!!! I am so freakin' excited!!! I took lots of pics for all you DISers but don't have time to post them right now so sorry for the tease. I just wanted to let you all know! I just have to say that my DF is the best! I'll recap my DF for you all in case you don't read my pj page by page. My DF wants to have a nice wedding but doesn't want to spend all this cash to have it. Yeah, like that is ever going to happen BUT he did say that one of the things that is very important to him is that I have a really nice dress. So, we didn't really discuss a budget which means that I'm not limited as long as it's not in the 5 digits or something and that I'm still reasonable. So, I did what any other girl who wanted to be princess on her big day would do... I got a designer dress from Kleinfelds

thank you for all of your nice comments. I ordered my crinnie yesterday and I can't wait to see what the dress will look like once it is more roofed out. I'm also going to dye my crinnie either blush pink or hot pink. I also got gloves. Now I'm starting to think that wasn't such a good idea since I'm getting married in the summer. Anyway, I've decided on 2 songs for the wedding.

1) I don't want the wedding party and I to have different songs. I've been in love with pachelbel's cannon in D so I will have the string quartet start playing this song and then the processional will start and then I will walk to the rest of the song.

2) Our (DF & I) song is Unchained Melody so that will be our first dance song but it will be instrumental once again played by the string quartet.

I forgot to mention my bridezilla moment I had the other day when I bought my earrings. My mom and I went to look for a dress for her to wear. I've been telling her for the past three years that she needs to wear pink. We start looking for dresses and she picks every color except for pink!
So I take a deep breathe and just say "oh that's nice, but look, there's pink ones over there!!!" I proceed to run over to the pink section like the biggest loser ever. Believe it or not finding pink dresses had been quite the challenge so when I saw a section of 15 dresses + I had to freak. PLUS they were in blush pink which is exactly what I had visioned. Now, my mom finally reached the section and starts looking at what else, the dark pink dresses. This is the face that I made:

http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii110/pink_tink8i8/bridezilla1.jpg

So now I'm like screw this, the bridezilla emerges and I just start picking out the dresses that she needs to try on. I pick a long one out because that's what I had visioned and my mom freaks out. She doesn't want a long dress because it will be too hot and a long dress isn't "her". So, I did what any other bridezilla would do and I said " you're trying it on!".

Hello ladies!
I bought a pair of bridal shoes yesterday and I need your honest opinion. What do you think? I got them on sale and I only have 10 days to exchange for a refund. They were $240 and I only paid $100 for them. They weren't initially what I was looking for. I wanted a longer heel and wanted pink shoes. These have a shorter heel but are REALLY comfortable and they are diamond white but are completely dyeable. Shoot, photobucket isn't cooperating right now so I'll have to load pictures later

Thanks! Yea, I'm digging the whole dying them thing. You wouldn't believe how hard of a time I had trying to find any pink shoes, never mind pink fancy ones. The same designer who makes the shoes I have has pink ones but they are $300!!! :faint: (well that would be DF's face :lmao: ):goodvibes

Too funny about your bridezilla moment with mom.

I have to be the odd man out, and say I didn't like the shoes. :worried: The little cutout on the side is too cute, and yes you could die them, but I don't like the double bow. BUt that is a great deal! If you like them, and the most important thing, they are comfortable, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks! Chances are no one will see them anyway!

You know what, I wasn't convinced about the shoes at the beginning either. So, I thank you for your honesty. My mom did convince me about the double bows because they were different and I like different things and I can dye them. They are super comfortable though. They had another pair that I liked a little more but they had 5 inch heels and as much as I'd like to be closer in height to my DF, I don't see myself wearing 5 inch heels for more than a few few hours. If I even last that long
