2009 Marathon sign ups are available

Just wanted to post that the 2009 Marathon sign ups are online. I know those who just got done with this weekend might not be so eager to sign up. But for all those that are just a heads up that it is now open. Here I go to sign up for the 2009 full!!! :scared1:

I was bummed that you can only get a max of 2 pins. I got one for each of my children, since they'll be there cheering me on and they love collecting pins. Of course, they will be under strict orders that these are NOT allowed to be traded, lol!

I was hoping for one for me too, but oh well. I'll still have that medal - woohoo! (Because I WILL start and I WILL finish, even if it's DLF!)

Congrats on racing your first marathon! :woohoo: And bravo for registering for the Goofy! I'd like to try it sometime, but I'll have to stick with the full as my DH is running the half and someone's got to watch the kids! :laughing: We'll have to bring some grandparents along in 2010! :)

Thanks for the info! I'm not into the pin trading like the kids are, but I'd love to have one from the Half and pin it to my coat.

I'm in kind of the same boat as you regarding someone needing to watch the kids. IF my DSis comes (she might run the full) or IF my parents come, then DH will run the half with me. Otherwise, he knows that this is "my" race (he does others and isn't the Disney nut that I am), and he'll be with the kids while I run it.

Nope. They were completely out of the pins by Friday around 11am. I know because I tried to get one for each of my mentees. I asked and they told me they had sold out. I was able to get the "my first marathon" pins and the Goofy pins at the expo though. I didn't see any half pins at all but I didn't look for those. So get to the expo early.

I have questions for you marathoners... when does registration for the half usually fill up? I heard it is quick. What if you register and you can't do it? Do they apply your registration fee to the next year or are you out of luck.

I would like to sign up but I am a little nervous myself. Plus I just don't know if I will be able to make the trip down. I will have to keep a close eye out then.

Its one thing I really want to do after I graduate.

I would rather lose the registration free than decide later that I can go and have it full!

Shan, I ordered the pin when I registered (I was doing the half) and the pin was for the full! So you might want to check and see if there's any fine print about what the pin is, or wait for the expo.

Yeah, I was a little dissappointed about that. I wanted a pin for the Half, but got a Marathon pin. Oh well.....

I'll be back in 2009 for the Half again. It took me almost 4 hours to complete the Half, so I want to be an "official" finisher next year.

Well, I'm glad I asked then. Something told me it was a pin for the full... So the half pins will be at the expo? If we arrive Friday afternoon will all the pins and merchandise already be gone?

I saw some half pins at the merchadise trailer at the staging area before the half. I bought mine on Thurs at the expo. (Im always early)

I know that stuff can disappear fast at the expo. They were out of tech Goofy hats after Thursday. They have more stuff for the full & half but you never know.
