I am wonder how points can be used for value & moderate resorts. My parents are OKW DVC members and are going to let us use their points for a future trip.
Can we use the points to stay at All-Stars or POFQ? Will it be more or less points? I don't want to ask if it is going to cost a lot of points.
I know for the week we are looking at the OKW studio is 8 points per night.
TIA!

It will be more points to stay in a moderate resort as opposed to a DVC resort. I don't think you can use them at value resorts.
Value Season at Port Orleans is 16pts sun-thurs 30-pts on the weekends

yeah, if you're going to spend 16 pts a night, get the (1000 sq ft) 1BR at OKW...;)

Value Season at Port Orleans is 16pts sun-thurs 30-pts on the weekendsWhich is almost double the points, for a somewhat smaller room, at a less desireable resort. Plus...you have to pay the $95 fee for booking outside of DVC.
You'll be way ahead with a studio at OKW, or way, WAY ahead with a one-bedroom at OKW.

Value resorts are not available using DVC points, only moderate and deluxe (except BC & AKL) resorts.
I agree with the other posters that you are better off at OKW vs. going to another Disney hotel because 8 points/night is a true value for what you get.

AND YOU'VE GOT TO PAY THEM $95? wow I didn't know that. That makes it a really terrible deal.

That's why I haven't stayed outside of a DVC resort when I've been to WDW. Why pay more for a regular hotel room just for the location? I used to want to stay at the GF using points, but not anymore.
