DD Destiny has an appt in Feb with a pediatric endocrinologist for growth issues. What might we expect?

I'm afraid I've never visited an endocrinologist, but from my experience of other departments, first visits tend to be 'setting things up'. They will probably go through all the examination things and possibly take a history (if I had a pound for every time I'd given my history, I'd probably be going to Disney this Easter!). They may well refer her for tests and / or procedures as well.
My advice with any area of medicine is not to expect too much from the first meeting. First appointments rarely yield much in the way of treatment or diagnosis, but they are your starting blocks. Make sure before you leave, that you ask when the next appointment will be, and when any test results should be back by. I'm used to dealing with the UK's NHS, so it may be different elsewhere or in the private sector, but I've found that they don't always tell you what's going to happen next, unless you ask. If you don't hear from them by the time they say you will, ring them up and chase them.
Good luck and I hope it goes well! :thumbsup2

First thing they will do is a x-ray of her hand to see her bone age. If her bone age is younger then her actual age and she is small that's great but if it is her actual age or older then you will discuss options.

Full history, xray of wrist/hand for bone age, blood work and an exam. Karen
