Invasions of the Bushwackers >>>>title subject to change
Hello fellow Disney fanatics. This is my first attempt at a report so wish me luck. :scared: Here is my story.
The reason for the title is because this trip will consist of 8 goofs, all of who live in a community in southeast Louisiana known as “Bush, LA” hence BUSHwackers. :upsidedow This team consist of 6 grown-ups, some of who (like yours truly) refused to grow up and two little ones. Might be a reason we love Disney as much as we do.
I guess I should attempt to introduce you to the Bushwhacker team. Ok, let’s start with me, y-knot, this is my report so I make the rules, rite? :worship: I am David (how original were my parents):hippie: and I am 41, and like I said, refuse to grow up. I made 4 trips to the world as a youngster beginning in ’73 at the age of 7 and the last time in 85 at the age of 18. In ’85 Epcot was still new but I did not go to Epcot. We had too much fun at the MK in the few days that we were there we did not feel the urge to go see a “world’s fair”,:teacher: after all, we just saw one in ’84 in New Orleans. The thing I think I miss most is 20,000 leagues under the sea. Enough about me, for now, more to come later.
DW, who is much, much older than I (she robbed the cradle) is 42. She is mother of two (DD23 & DD8) and works a “fulltime job”, in which she does not allow me to forget. :rolleyes1 Really, she is a very hard working medical professional and is a kinda neat freak. She is supper organized. When we are on vacation she is the one that will COMPLETELY unpack the suitcases and put all the clothes in the dressers and hang the “hang-ups” in the so called resort closet,:laundy: me on the other hand, will be happy living out of the suit case with the dirty clothes lying on the floor in the corner of the bathroom. :crazy2: Last Jan was her first ever trip to the world. I really loved watching her walk down Main Street USA the first afternoon we arrived. When we got to the castle I asked her what she thought. The only thing she said is that it was not what she was expecting. I asked her what she expected, an amusement park? She replied…..”UHH……. I guess so.” :confused3 I had attempted to talk her into DVC when we booked that trip but she kept saying she did not think she would want to vacation at Disney THAT much. Needless to say, we bought into DVC by May and she is already talking about adding more points soon. Woohoo, she is hooked.   The closer we get to our trip this year, she is getting more and more excited. She is already packed and it is still 12 days out. More to come on my “cleaning-beauty bride”
The youngest of our part of the clan is DD8. She is definitely a “daddy’s girl”! She was born about 22 months POST – vasectomy. After a quick trip back to the doctor’s office, I found out that, in fact, I was not “shooting blanks”.:scared1: The entire time DW was pregnant we referred to the baby as the “miracle baby”. This was early summer 1999 so I kept telling DW she was going to have the “miracle baby” as the "millennium baby". Well….our “miracle babe” was born on Christmas day. :santa: I took that as a sign that we were meant to have this blessing. She, too, went to Disney for the first time last year. I think I had more fun with her and her mom than they had themselves. :yay: Here is a pic of DD8 shortly after we arrived at, then, MGM.

Ok, where did I leave off? Oh yeah, the 2nd clan in the Bushwacking journey.
Part II of the introduction of the Bushwackers.:teacher:
Big-Guy. I call him this because he is the bodybuilder on the team, therefore he is OUR bodyguard for this trip, we may need one with this crew. He is the “CCC” (cool, calm & collected):cool2: one in this part of the team, another good reason for him to be our bodyguard. Although, he does like to play in the mudd :moped: on the weekends. Big-Guy lived in central FL for a while. I don’t know how long, I just know that he used to live “not too far” from the world. Needless to say, he has been to WDW several times. Different this time, is this is his first time as a married man and with his son. We are going to PPP on the 2nd night of our stay and I don’t know if I can get him to put on a pirate costume or not (I did say he is the CCC). My DD8 has requested that I don a costume for the evening pirate: (no pix allowed) since she is going to be in her Princess costume. princess: This maybe another time when a bodyguard might come in handy. Really, Big-Guy is a cool guy and his DW did gud landing him, she would say that he didn’t do too bad either!:flower3:
Stacgirl—Then there is stacgirl, what can we say……..she is another Disney crazed grown-up refusing to do so. She works and plays with animals all day, even lives with some too.:rolleyes1 She took their Christmas tree down Christmas night so she could make more room for her “Disney stuff”.:yay: She is probably the best thing that has happened to her stepson. I think she has spent more money on him for this trip than she spent on this trip. Either that or it is a cover-up for her obsession.::yes:: She really loves her “lil man” ! We made her suffer last year by asking her to pet sit for our 4-legged family member that we could not take with us to WDW. :sad1: It may have been torture on her knowing where we were. Now we are in need of another “sitter”. Stacgirl has volunteered her mom, isn’t that sweet of her. This too will be her first time as a married woman.:bride: She has been before but I am not sure how many times or when it was. Stacgirl will more than likely be our spokesperson on this vacation, if we need one. She is really a sweetheart with a heart bigger than herself. Big-Guy and Stacgirl did gud!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/KevinStaceysm.jpg
Now to the “Lil-Man”. This man is a ball of energy that never stops. :hyper: He is 6 (I think) and goes to school with my “daddy’s girl” and has never been to the Happy Place. Daddy’s girl can’t wait to show him around Disney, since she is such a veteran. :rotfl: I have never seen lil man slow down except in church for a while. When he gets going he is like the Tasmanian devil with a big smile on his face. Not that he is a mess maker, just fast, all out and loveable. You can see his personality just by looking at him.
With all the things that we have ready to bring just for the traveling part of the trip (mostly from stacgirl) we may need to get a u-haul. We hope this will prevent all, or most, of the “are we there yet”s and the “how much longer” questions on our 10-11 hour drive.:drive:

Invasion of the Bushwackers>>>>>>>>>Now the 3rd Installment of, "Who are You"!!!
The remaining two of the invasion are just past their first anniversary. :cloud9: They were wise enough to spend their honeymoon/disneymoon at WDW last Jan. They too, are young at heart and are not in a hurry to grow up. This has become a requirement for our mission. :goodvibes She is kinda quiet (at least around me) and is the smallest of the big people, so I think I will call her “Lil-Bit” for now (until she catches me and forces me to change her name).:duck:
I have not come up with a name for Lil-Bit’s DH yet. :scratchin He was a pretty smart groom to take is new bride to WDW on a honeymoon. He is stacgirl’s brother and is just about as goofy for Disney as she is (and I guess the rest of us too). He and Lil-Bit just bought a new house, 2 weeks before we leave. Are they nuts??? :scared1: Not to worry, stacgirl confiscated their Disney stuff before the move so none of it would get lost. :woohoo: They do not have any children together, yet, which is the reason I think they hitched a ride with the rest of us (to use the kids as a cover-up).:rotfl2: I think this may be their last trip before they DO have small ones of their own. They are a very good lookin couple that I always see with smiles. Almost too happy.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/JimmyKatie.jpg
We all enjoy spending time together, usually involving BBQ & beer/wine/daiquiris :drinking1 and maybe an LSU football game. We have had one “Disney meeting” already and are working on another one before our departure to make sure that we don’t forget anything. Yeah, like that is going to happen with this crew.

DD23 just got a new job and can't get time off yet. She is already talking about next trip. Yes mom and dad DO pick up the bill:sad2:
Not afraid of flying, fly every week. We kinda enjoy the drive, :moped: except for the part between P'cola and Tallahassee. A lot of trees.:bored: We leave early (around 1:30am) and stop around Pensacola for breakfast, about 4 hours into our trip. That puts us in the world around 1:00pm. Just in time for check in.:cool1:

Hello everyone, it is Stacgirl ! ! !
I love reading my own Pre Trip report. :lmao:
I am so excited about my trip I cannot stop watching the countdown clock.
O.k. since I only have my stepson every other weekend, we HAD to go shopping this past weekend for Logan's suitcase for Disney. He had to get the camo one of course. He is a BOY ! ! ! ;)
On to Shoe Carnival for the perfect shoes for the family.
Today I decided to go find some activites for the kids to do during the 10 hour drive. I went to "Dollar Tree" not sure where they have them but for the people who don't know the store, everything in the store is $1.00.:cool1:
Well about 15 minutes in the store I had already spent $50.00 :rolleyes1
I promise the kids will not get bored. I was amazed at the stuff they had there with the "Disney" theme.
I got stickers, Pirate and Princess notebooks, Glow Sticks etc.....
I think I did a wonderful job.
Well I have about 10 more days to stare at all of the Disney stuff on the table.
I love all of my Bushwackers and cannot wait until we leave !!!:grouphug:

Invasion if the Bushwackers>>>>>>The Strategy Begins
Alright, we finally decided on how many DVC points we want to start with... Then change our minds and get more. If we still want more, we will add later.:thumbsup2
Now, we know we want to stay at BWV, DW’s loves Epcot, but how long and when???? We do know that we want to go in Jan because of the crowds. We thought about going the 12th – 19th but after a little research, I learn that is the same weekend of the marathon. Can’t do that, don’t want the crowds. Ok, lets try the next week. More research….MLK holiday weekend. Nope, still big crowds. Maybe we should re-think this timing thing???? :confused3 OK one more try. The next week????? Little research, nothing scheduled. Woohoo! Jan 25 – Feb 1. Hope DD’s teacher will be ok with it. Glad DD takes after Clean Lady and is a very good student,:teacher: whew.
Humm….who do we sucker into this adventure with us? How about family? Mmmmm. :scared1: NO!! Family is family, not always friends. They (our families) tend to get on your nerves too easily if we spent too much time together. Besides we are doing a family thing in July @ Gulf Shores. No need to do it twice in the same year. Right? Maybe next year. Didn’t take long to make plans with Big-Guy and Stacgirl. They were already looking to go to the world. But stacgirl is our pet sitter. Who will take care of brownie (my lil buddy)??? Stacgirl so gererously offered her mother’s service. After all she does live right around the corner and LOVES my lil buddy. Ok, Big-Guy, Stacgirl & Lil man are going with us. That’s done! :cheer2:
So now we need (or have a good reason for) a 2 BR villa. What view do we want,,,standard, boardwalk, pool,,, is there a bad view at BWV???? Any suggestions? popcorn:: Which views go first, how many points do I want to use, will I get what I want??? Since this is not my “home” resort, I have to wait for the 7 month window. Does it really matter what view we have? Don’t plan on spending a lot of time in the “home” anyway. I think we will shoot for a standard view and save points for next trip in case we decide to go crazy next time. My rules, remember! :cool2: The Boardwalk view would be really cool though. We could do some sight-seeing from the balcony.::yes::
I think I want AP this year and plan next year’s trip a week, or maybe an month (Christmas) earlier. I do like the convience of having the room key, pass & DDP all in one, though. Can't do this with AP. Not sure if we can get DDP without MYW tickets? More research. :teacher: I don’t think I did this much research in school. :sad2:
Too bad I didn’t know about DISboards when I started this wacked-out expedition. I believe member services recognizes my voice now. :scared:
OK, this is what I have for now:
7 nights at BWV Friday Jan. 25th – Feb. 1st in a 2 BR villa standard view room with DDP and MYW passes with park hopper for 6 "grown-ups" and 2 small ones.

Do I Really Want to Dress Like Jack Sparrow>>>>How Much Fud Can We Eat in One Week?
It’s time to start thinking about ADR’s. Hmmmmmm. We did not have any last year but suffered on a couple of them so we wanted to make sure we made ressies for those that we had trouble with. First one I want to make is WCC. Last year we could only get one @ 9:30 pm and we are not what you would call “night owls”. I also learned that Sat. night is the best night to go. So I called to get a ressie for around 6:00 or 7:00 and the lady tells me that she heard that Disney MAY extend the PPP into Feb so we might want an earlier time so we would have time to get back to the MK (if we wanted to do that). I said, “what the heck” let’s do it. We have a 5:10 time. I will take that one. I love the “all you can eat" MEAT at your table. **quick insert from last trip** DW did not want the all you can eat meat pit, she wanted her own steak cooked the way she wants it (tell the cook, when you think it’s burnt cook it some more). When the very friendly wait staff came by the table to pick up the dishes and asked DW “would you like me to take that for you?" DW, yes, thank you. Friendly waitstaff person: UH,,,I can’t help but notice that you did not finish your veggies. DW,,, yes mam that is correct. Friendly waitstaff person…I would hate to see you walking around the restaurant flapping your arms like a chicken saying “I didn’t eat all my greens, I didn't eat all my greens”………would you like me to leave you plate for now and come back in a minute? DW…..UHHH, yes please. As soon as the friendly waitstaff person left the table DW stuck a fork in the broccoli and shoved towards me, “here eat this”. **nuff reminisin' back to this year** OK, I will take the 5:10, thank you. 1 down and umpteen million to go. Not positive about the PPP but that is not a bad time. Next:
Another ressie that is a must is Breakfast @the Castle with Cinderella. We love the idea of the a buffet brought to the table (see a trend here?). DD loves all the princess that come around to the tables for autographs and pictures. I learned last year that, with a ressie @ the castle you can get in the park before everyone else. :cool1: The food was gud, the service was typical Disney and the inside of the castle was like nothing I expected. And for DD it was really like a “Dream Come True”. Disney=dreamy
A little story about last trip:
On our last trip we got into the park about 30 minutes B4 our ressie time and had to wait on the rest of our party. While waiting on everyone else we were leaning against the rope looking at Tinks treasures hoping to be able to get in and wake her up. Well the rest of our party called and said that they were about to leave their room (@ BWV) and would be headed to Castle ASAP. We are still watching for Tink’s treasures to open. I turn and look back down Main Street and guess what I see? A HERD of cattle headed for the Castle, and I am still behind a rope. :scared1: Oh no, they are going to go around the castle and get in there before we can get past the rope. DD says “daddy what do we do”? We anxiously turn and look at the treasures and finally I see someone open the doors. The CM looks at us (behind a rope) and starts waving her arm (come here, come here). We hurdle the rope like relay racers in a made dash for the gold. DD & DW are half way through the door before I pick myself up off the ground and check for any blood or protruding bones, none, gud. :thumbsup2 No need to call the medics or get Air-Med enroute, I’ll be alright. Now, look around to see if any body saw my stunt, whew, no-one laughing, that I can see anyway. I finally catch up with them, hoping they don't notice my lymp. DW “what took you so long”? “I had to secure the rope back after I went around it”. :rolleyes1 She was ok with that. The CM said she saw us standing BEHIND the rope, waiting patiently, and could not let us NOT get in to wake up Tink. :tinker: CM=gud
Back to ADR’s.
We are going to pay for this on OOP so we don’t have to use 2 TS credits off DP. Again, we want to avoid the crowds so we decide to pick a day that we think will be low crowds. Can’t do Sat (1st full day and will have a late night (maybe) with PPP. Sunday, no-way, incase of a late night with PPP. Monday is supposed to be a high crowd day according to UG book. So… Let’s try Tuesday, yeah that’s the ticket. Call to get a ressie for 6 lunatics. I did not call at the 180 day mark. I did not think I needed call soo early since it was Jan and no large crowds, right??? Wrong!!! :worried: Nothing available, all booked. Aw MAN! Ok, how about Wed? Nope! No table for 6. Thursday??? Nope! You should have called sooner. :furious: Ok, do you have 2 tables close together? I was finally able to reserve 2 tables instead of 1, on Wed morning. :goodvibes Oh well, they will be close together, I hope.
Next on the list of must do’s is the Coral Reef. I've heard mixed reviews about the food but the “special service” :fish: is the main reason I want this one. Plus DW LOVES seafood (I think she wuz a shark in a previous life). :duck: I am attempting to spread these first few ADR’s out as to not crowd them together at first. Really, I don’t know what kind of system I am using, it just sounds good as long as I am not at the same park too much. That being said, I shoot for Monday evening at 7:00. That way we will still have time to catch Illuminations. I call and the closest thing I can get is at 7:50. Not bad. If we scarf down the grubb we may still have a shot at the show. Then I call the manager to get some “special” request :ssst: and talk to Debbi (she is cool), give her the ADR number and time of ressies. She said she would work on it for me. I, of course, said PLEASE. Debbi sent me an email the next day that said she would only be able to handle my “special” request if I could change my ressie time from 7:50 to 7:00. WaaHoo, no more indigestion. Bye-Bye Pepto. Debbi=gud. I email back to her, “if that is all you have, that will do”. :rolleyes1 So that one is done.
Enough of the ADR’s for now. I can only do sooo much at once, with the busy schedule I am tring to keep.
DVC sends out this email alert that disney’s PPP is soooooo popular, that they have decided to extend it into early 2008. WOW, what a surprise, I thought. I wonder if DD would like this. On top of that there is and “early bird” special. I ask clean lady if she would like for us to do that. “I am not staying out that late”, she informs me. Ok fine. I ask DD if she wants it, and show her all the pics on the puter. YEA, daddy, let’s do it. :love2: Ok. We find out that “lil-man” & Big Guy are going to join in on the fun while the wimps go back to the room (I found out later they are headed to DTD). I called and got the tickets without any problems. No changing dates or times. How did that happen?
Quatam Leap forward: :teleport: DW (clean lady) heard that there is a sale @ the Disney Stores so she goes online to check it out. :surfweb: I told her to find me a Pirate hat to “look” like a pirate. Well, she calls me to tell me that she found “something”. It is the WHOLE Jack Sparrow costume. Vest, pants, bandana with dreadlocks, eye patch and oh yea, a HAT. pirate: She also informs me that DD saw it and can’t wait for her “daddy” to look like a pirate while she is in her princess dress. At this time DD gets on the phone and says “daddy you are going to look soooo cool in that. You can guess what I said………. OK sweety. Daddy loves you. Let me talk to your momma! It is at this time I learn that I will need to stop by the Disney store in the mall to pick it up. They only have one left in my size and it is being held for me. Boy it sure fells good to be the MAN OF THE HOUSE.

We have done Breakfasts, Lunch and Dinner at WCC and enjoyed ever meal we had.
At lunch the server found out that my DW and I were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary, so he made us stand made an announcement to the other guests, then after a round of applause he informed us that we had to kiss for 17 seconds one for every year of our marriage.
Now kissing my DW sounded like a good deal, even if for only 17 seconds...:cool1:

Hey David! (my brothers name too!) :goodvibes Followed you over from Buzzes,,wasnt he the one who talked you into this? where is he? :confused3 hmm...o-well,,,I`m here... Sounds like this is going to be a fun trip!
We`ve been 3 times, 05,06,07. but with just my Hubby and 3 kids,, We have talked about going with friends, but I`m not sure I would like it because of worrying about what everyone else wants to do, or go where, So this will be interesting. O.K So I know that one couple is your BIL and SIL,, I`m not sure who Big Guy and Stacgirl are,,Friends of yours? just so I can get a picture,,,
You will enjoy your surprise at Coral Reef,,I did it for my 40th birthday trip in Sept, I call it my "trip" and not my birthday because my b-day isnt till the end of Oct, but nobody knew that,,,anywhoo,,,it was fun,,I almost missed it because my DD 4 had to go potty! I sent my 14yo son with her and he came while they were in the bathroom! whew!!
And the picture of your DD at MGM is adorable! I remember it from the Pic of the day thread a few days ago,,,,

:confused3 I was hoping that Buzz would stop in but you know he is on injured reserve (IR) with that HUGE razor accident and all. I guess his DISing is limited for now.:sad2:
Sorry about the confusion with our crew. Let me see if I can do a little better this time. :teacher: Big Guy and Stacgirl are very close friends of ours & neighbors too. Lil-bit and her DH are BIL & SIL to them (Big Guy & Stacgirl). I guess that makes us the odd ones out, kinda, but we are like family with them so it is cool. :confused3
It is our first time with friend too but we hang out together (mostly eating each other's food). It should be a lot of fun.
I am attempting to do this PTR and I hope to attempt some LIVE updates when we are at our HAPPY PLACE. I am not sure about the internet availability issue at the resorts (fingers crossed).
Thanks about the pic. I am just learning how to use photobucket and that one is my favorite one of her. I have a bunch of her. She seems to light up (show-off) for the camera, but is very shy when other people are around.

Now kissing my DW sounded like a good deal, even if for only 17 seconds...:cool1:
Do you have any idea how long 17 seconds is when you are in front of a 100 people yelling and screaming!!...:scared1:

Run-Away Honey Do List
Yesterday was a HUGE honey-do day for me.:laundy:
Just before I get DD off to school and DW off to work. DW, in her sweetest of sweet voices says to me… "Honey, since your are going to be in town to put my truck in the shop, can you do a few things for me???" I left the list on the counter for you to do while you are in town. :teacher: Then gives me a BIG kiss :love2: and leaves out the door for work, “have a great day” she yells as she gets in MY truck, smiling as she drives away. :drive:
I noticed that it was rolled up. Not a big deal. I thought DD may have been playing with it and rolled it around something. After DW left for work, I picked it up to look at it but only held it with two fingers. The bottom of it dropped. No problem, OK. The problem was, it (the bottom of it) fell all the way to the floor and I still had the top of it in my hand. Worse yet, it didn’t stop there! :scared1: It rolled all the way across the living room and halfway down the hall like a run-away roll of toilet paper in the stall of Walmart with no replacement, I had to run and dive on it to keep it from going out the door and down the steps. WHEW!
I was only gone for 8 days. How can there be so much to do? :confused3 She must sit up at night thinking of things to keep me busy while she is “working a fulltime job” (One of her favorite things to inform me of). :duck:
I even took my laptop to town with me so I could attempt to catch up on my report. In case I had some down time. :rotfl2: Yeah, like that was going to happen with THIS scroll. :sad2:
I tell you this because I did not have a chance to post my next installment. Not that I have to. It looks like ya’ll were having fun without me.

It rolled all the way across the living room and halfway down the hall like a run-away roll of toilet paper in the stall of Walmart with no replacement, I had to run and dive on it to keep it from going out the door and down the steps. WHEW!

>>>>>>>>>>>>Surprise, A New Addition<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
And now back to our regularly scheduled program:
At this point we are within 6 weeks of our departure for the Happy Place. Once again Clean Lady calls me to inform me of a looming situation. She says that Stacgirl’s brother and Lil-Bit would like to make a trip to WDW before they decide to bring their own mess-makers into this thing we call life on earth.
Stacgirl is not sure if they will be able to get ressies this late. Clean Lady asked me if we would have room for them with us, and would I want to invite them to say with us. I’m thinking, WooHoo, we gonna Par-Tay.!! party: “If they want to get on the DP and don’t mind sleeping on a sofa sleeper I guess it's alright”. :rolleyes1 Great, she says, I told them you wouldn’t mind. :sad2:
Now we need to have the first of our “Disney Meetings”. ;) When I get home this time I am notified that we are going to Big Guy’s and Stacgirl’s to get together with Lil Bit and her DH (still no name???) to talk about our trip to the world. Yea! More Disney freaks, I mean fans, yeah, that’s it.
We go over to Big Guy’s place to meet with everyone just to make sure we are all on the same page. "We will take our truck and we want to join ya’ll with your ADR’s”, Lil Bit’s DH says. Great. Not a problem, I say.
Here is a pic of Lil Bit's DH and their truck. :goodvibes
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/12-30-2006022.jpg
All the “fun” I had getting these ressies and now I have to go back and try to change them. Ok! The Castle should not be a tough one, since we had to do 2 tables anyway. All they have to do is put two more cabooses in the chairs that are already at the table. Right? Make that call and what do you think happens? Yes Sir, we can do that, thank you. Whoa. Was expecting more trouble than that. Maybe they finally are giving me the respect that I deserve. :cool2: If I could only convince Clean Lady of the same??? :lmao:
Time to call WCC. I hope we can do the same with this one. “Yes Sir, not a problem. Have a magical day”. I think I am beginning to like this respect thing. :woohoo: Now to call Debbi at The Coral Reef. How much would a change in size of the party affect our “special request”??? Well, since I have this respect thing working, let’s give it a shot. After 3 phone calls and 2 emails, I finally get through. We may have to get 2 tables but it can be done. Ok, 2 tables will work. Wow, so far so good. We are set. :cool1:
But first, more ADR’s,,, maybe: Suggestions accepted.
After racking the noggin about how many and which ADR’s to make, I have made all the right moves. That is, until I talk to Michelle @ DVC. After talking for several minutes, she tells me that if we are going to do CM we better make ADR’s QUICK because they go fast. Oh no, I need another Disney meeting to decide which morning we want this, and we DO want this one, clean lady says!!!
No time to waste. I have to make an executive decision!! We already have breakfast @ the castle for Wed morning and I don’t want a big breakfast on back to back mornings. That being said, we are limited to Monday morning or Friday morning before we leave the world for reality. Well, to make a long story short. The respect thing ran out. :sad2: There are absolutely no tables for 8 available for our entire trip. :headache: "We do have 2 tables of 4 on Tuesday morning at 7:00 am" the operator suggest. :scared1: Are you kidding lady, 7 AM, we ARE on vacation!!! No way are we getting up at 5:30 or 6:00 just to watch Mickey and his friends run around the place stealing our napkins and wave them in the air. I can do that anytime. "Well sir, you can keep calling back in case there is a cancelation." Oh well, there goes the roll-over minutes.
I inform the rest of the team about our impending situation. Their reply is, “let us know when you get the ressie after someone cancels”. At least Stacgirl and Clean Lady say this. So much for that respect idea here. Maybe I should attempt to call CM’s instead of the Dinning plan phone line? I dunno. DD really liked it when Mickey took her napkin last year and Goofy sat next to us and propped his feet on the table next to us. I am going to have to find some strings to try to pull. :flower3: Maybe it can be DD’s birthday??? :ssst: Or is that one OVER-used? What if I can’t get CM’s. What can I do then? I heard about another CB over at the Beach Club. Maybe I can substitute that one? :scratchin Stay Tuned>>>>>>>>>

My measly attempt at a cliff hanger seems to have failed here. It’s a good thing I don’t depend on this kinda thing for an income. :sad2:
I tried to lie, cheat, steal and bribe (all the things that you are taught not to do) to get an ADR at CM but no luck there. :sad2: It is time to go to plan E since plans A, B, C and D have failed. I haven’t given up yet. When we get to the world maybe I can threaten them in person (or attempt to get DD to give “sweet eyes”). :flower3: Anyway, we still want to do a CB so Plan E is get ressies @ CP. We have had to dinner @ CP before an enjoyed and I hope we will have the same luck for breakfast. :thumbsup2
I still don’t want a big breakfast on back to back days so that eliminates Tuesday and Thursday since we have breakfast @ the castle on Wednesday. We have the late night on Saturday with PPP so that rules out Saturday and Sunday. Pretty much only leaves Monday or Friday. We are leaving Friday morning so Monday is our first choice. Lets give this a try. Yes sir, we have a table for 8 at 7:30 or 9:25. WooHoo, give me the 9:25, the 7:30 is toooooo early for vacation. That’s done. No more ADRs till we get to the world.
It is time to advise the rest of the invaders of my executive compromise. "If that is the best you can do, we guess it will work." We will take this if it is all that is left, is the kinda feeling I am getting from my team. This is what we are doing and that’s, that! I am the KING of this journey, so there. :cool2:
Now I have to record the ressie in the PP book. Oh NOOOO. That is an EMH day @ the MK and a high crowd day according to UOG. :scared1: Oh well suck it up, cuz I ain’t changing this one. :sad2:
DD doesn’t care, she just likes to eat.

MORE CHANGES>>>>>>>>>>>>
Ok, now I have to go by the Disney Store in NO on my way home to pick up the Jack Sparrow costume that clean lady is having held behind the counter, since it is the last one they have in my size. Not a problem, it is the middle of a weekday, there won’t be a bunch of people in the mall. Right? Wrong, yet again. It is lunch time a week and a half before Mardi Gras. Judging by the crowds in the Disney Store a lot of people are leaving New Orleans for WDW. Just my luck. Take a deep breath and get the package behind the counter. The nice lady hands me the package and I notice it is a YOUTH large. UHHH,,,,mam this is not an ADULT large. “Just a second”, she says. “Suzie, do we have an adult large in the Jack Sparrow Halloween costume?” Suzie, in a very irritated sounding voice, says “NO we don’t stock those kind of things in adult sizes.” That would not have been SO bad had Suzie not been on the other side of the very crowded store. Now everyone in the store is turning to see who in the world would be looking for something like that. With the line forming behind me there was nowhere to hide.
Now the problem was, “what am I going to tell DD?” It is too late to order it online now. It will never get here, in time. The nice lady behind the counter tells me about a party shop down the street. Thank goodness for Mardi Gras season in New Orleans, there is never a shortage of costumes around here.
I do find something. It is not the WHOLE costume, but it does have a bandanna with long hair, eye patch and an ear ring. I decided against the hat because I thought it would hide the bandanna. The big test, though, would be getting DD to approve of the change.
I thought about going to pick her up form school with it on but did not because I was not sure what some of the teachers might think about someone walking up to the school dressed like this. pirate: Also, I might be recognized, and I sure don’t want that to happen. That being said, when I get home with her, I don the new digs while she is changing clothes and wait patiently on her to notice…….Hey daddy that looks cool. You can put on a white tee shirt and blue jeans and it will be great. Whew! I was fearful of her suggesting that clean lady put make up on me or something. :rotfl:

Hello everyone. This year's trip is over. The vacation was great.
Asking for prayers. We went it 2 vehicles and Stacgirl, Big Guy, Lil Man, Lil Bit & her DH wanted to leave early to get home before dark (10-11 hour drive), while DW, DD & myself wanted to stay a little bit longer and have breakfast before we left the happy place. After about 45 minutes into our trip Big Guy called to see how far behind them we were and to tell us that they had been involved in a bad accident on the interstate about 150 miles ahead of us. He said that He and Lil Man were OK but Stacgirl was unreponsive and he was, obviously, very scared. As I was talking to him the EMS was starting to arrive on the scene, Thank You Onastar. A little bit later I talked to him and he told me that Stacgirl was starting to talk to him but was still not all "there" when they loaded her on the ambulance and that he was going to call me as soon as he found out where he was going.
Big Guy called back told us they were going to Gainsville trama center and he and Lil Man were riding to the hospital with the state trooper.
We got to the hospital about 10 minutes before Big Guy and was able to see and talk to Stacgirl just before BG got there.
We were able to see and talk to everyone. They are all safe and without any injuries except a lot of bruising and soreness and were being discharged last night.
Big Guy has family that lives not far from where the accident accured and was able to help with working on a rental car and SG's Mom & brother came down to be with them. We came home late last night to take care of the pets and are now waiting to hear that they are one the rode headed home this morning.
We will have many more details later in the reports.
Sorry about not having a live report from the World. The signal was weak, at best, even with wire and I did not want to pay $10.00 a day for "limited" access.

<<<<<Lets get the Invasion Started>>>>>
Well, Let me attempt to get some things clear and re-introduce you to our Invaders:
Me---David, (King of the Invasion)-Responsible for the ressies for this trip.
DW---(Clean Lady aka CL), Author of the “honey_do” list and critic of the driving and travel schedule.
DD8---(Daddy’s Girl), 2nd trip to WDW
Big-Guy---(our Bodygurard aka BG), A former resident of Florida.
Stacgirl---(aka SG), DW to BG, 1st trip to the “world” in a long time.
Lil-Man---(aka LM), Son to BG and stepson to SG. 1st ever trip to WDW.
?????---(aka ???)(still no nick-name), Big Brother to SG. Earns nick-name in this update.
Lil-Bit---(aka LB), DW to ???
Flora Crocker---(aka Flora), Croc from the Disboards.
Our Goals: Have as much fun as humanly possible in 7 days. What is it going to be like staying with-in walking distance of Epcot and MGM (can’t get used to Hollywood yet). :confused3 Where are the best food and drinks?
The time has finally come. It is midnight Jan 25th and time to wake up CL. She wants to get all made up for our trip. We are going to meet BG & SG with ??? and LB at around 1:30am. I step outside to check the temp BRRRRRR 35deg and wet. It was not supposed to get below 40deg tonight and there is still 5 and a half hours to go before the sun comes up. I hope this is not a sign of how the week is going to go. It is supposed to be 65 – 80degs for highs the next seven days in Orlando. :cool1:
1:40am: We are on our way. WooHoo. Last trip we were an hour late getting started. We can’t get to Pensacola before about 4:45, though. That gives us time to fuel up and get to Cracker Barrel at about 5:00, opening time. Pensacola is about 210 miles away. I am sure that we will have to make a couple of pit stops before we get there. Besides, I just carried DD from her pillow to the truck without stopping by the bathroom. (there’s one stop).
We are well into Mississippi and DD is still asleep. My pit stop strategy is not going to good yet. She finally wakes up just before the Alabama state line so we can pull in at the rest area. Time saved without having to get way off the interstate. This is not looking good for my scheduled stop in P’cola. Well, when we get to P'cola we are about 40 minutes early and I don’t want to sit in the parking lot for 30 plus minutes waiting on Cracker Barrel to open. We can catch the Cracker Barrel about 20 miles past P’cola (if I remember right) in Milton.
Three Milton extis later we stop for fuel. I go inside to ask, "Where the Cracker Barrel?" (CL has her mind made up she wants a good breakfast from there). The nice girl behind the counter smiled proudly exposing her 3 front teeth and said “There ain’t no Cracker Barrel in Milton but there is one in Pensacola. I have to step back from the counter (I am lovin pay at the pump) and inquire about one going in the other direction. They have one of those in Crestview about 30 miles east. Whew, just right, we can be there by 5:20 right after opening. The rest of the invaders are cool with this as long as we don’t waste too much time. The natives are getting hungry.
5:15 and we arrive @ Crestview CB. Only 4 cars in the parking lot, great, not busy we can eat and run. :cool1: We get to the front door and the LOCKED door said open at 6:00am. What! Why is P’cola open at 5 and this one at 6? :furious: Oh well, We have a few choices. Don’t want to wait 45 mins to open. How about Waffle House or the arches? Waffle House it is (and it is closest too). Not long after we set up camp, the place is empty. That is the kind of affect we have on people I guess. We had all three of the employees with smiles by the time we left. I don’t know if it is because we were there are because we were leaving??????? :confused3
Ok, that was uhhh……..filling. Now back to the venture eastward. How far can we make it before someone starts yelling for another pit stop?
The sun is starting to rise in front of us.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/003.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/001sm.jpg
We make it past the Eastern time line and all the way to Tallahassee before we have to stop. Not bad, about 2 hours, we are doing good. It is time for fuel too. This is going too good, time wise.
I am still catching flack over the breakfast stop. :sad2: I am inventing all kinds of travel games to keep the subject off of breakfast. :thumbsup2
Now we are headed south on I-75, Yay, about 3 hours left. :yay:
Just after we get on I-75: "Invader 2 calling invader 1 come in". We have two way radios, by the way. "LBs eyes are floating we need to stop somewhere quick." No problem, lets go ahead and top off with gas and we can make it all the way without any more stops. The gas stations on WDW property have low prices.
60 minutes later: "Invader 2 calling Invader 1, I need to stop again." I think I have finally come up with a name for ???. From now on ??? will be known as “John” since he spends soooo much time there. "We can stop at the rest stop in the middle on the turnpike", John says. He knows where all the good B/R’s are too. :lmao: Alright, one last stop. Everybody OUT!! Go NOW or too bad. :rolleyes1
Finally, we arrive on property at 1:15. Still way ahead of our ETA of 2:30.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/004.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/WelcomeWDW08.jpg
And here we are driving up to the BWV at 1:25. WOW.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/006.jpg
The valet guy looks at my “national Championship LSU” sweatshirt and the first thing he tells me is that he is a big Buckeye fan. I said I hope you are not looking going to take it out on my truck then. :rolleyes1 When I opened the back of the truck, he asked if he should get another cart. While we were unloading the truck, CL noticed the fry-daddy. What is that for? Don’t worry about it, just tip the guy and lets get checked in so we can get something to eat before your sugar level drops and I have to deal with your hot flashes.

1st - good call on the two-way radios. We always bring hand held CB radios on our disney road trips. It was a great way to make some time fly on a long car drive.
2nd - I would have spelled it "Jon" not "John"

I will be waiting for the next installment of the PTR.
Thank all of you ! ! ! ! !
Stacgirl, glad everyone is safe and sound. Losing our cameras were probably the last thing on your mind:hug:

I love the sunrise photos!
Can't believe you actually brought along the fry-daddy. Did you really?
:rotfl2:
Those little radios are great eh?
Great start - looking forward to more
The sunrise was cool. Yep I did, even have pic to prove it. :thumbsup2
radios were fun for everyone, kids too.
just found this report and love the pics. Sorry to hear of the accident, I hope they r all doing better now.
Can't wait to hear more of the trip.
Only visited Boardwalk but what a gorgeous hotel it is.
Thanks about the pics. Everyone is getting a little bit better each day now, I believe. It was getting worse for the first 3-4 days but I think they are going in the right direction now, but still have a ways to go. SG was hurt the worst, thus she has further to go but her spirts are getting better, which is easy for her. :goodvibes
Working on more of the trip, but I am not very fast at this. :surfweb:
The BW is beautiful and fun too. Wait till you see pix from the resort later in the report. :rolleyes1

>>>>>>>The Extended Check-In and Pa Pa Pa Pa Please Can We Eat Now<<<<<<<
Ok, after 11 hours on the road and 20 minutes arguing over the Fry Daddy making it to the room, we get to the check in. The one thing I was SO waiting for: “Welcome Home”! Waiting….Waiting….Waiting??? “The check in is that way sir”. Oh well maybe later.
Hello Mr. David, I don’t have the same number of people on the computer as you have with you. I can get you checked it but I cannot give you your room number. Is our room ready yet? Of course not. Here are your room keys. Uhh, mam, these names are incorrect. One person is not with us, one has the wrong last name and there is no card for one of us, other than that everything is ok. She looks up at me, I think. One eye is looking at me and the other is looking out west somewhere. Which way do I look? :confused3
“Let me get a manager”, says the eagle eyed keeper of my ressies.
You can go to the concierge’s desk and buy your park passes and get into the parks. But I don’t think you will be able to put your park passes on the room key, we have a computer glitch that won’t allow us to do that right now. No! That is not what I asked for when I made these ressies. I wanted everything on each card. :snooty:
Hey Mr., manager (nice young man, bout ½ my age). I know you can make everything right. Mr. Manager says that the computer won’t let him fix the problem. He is going to have to cancel the ressie and have DVC make a new ones and he does not know how long it is going to take, “Where are you wanting to go, he asked me? We can get you a free fast pass for your party for having you wait?”
We are hungry, I tell him in my friendliest voice and big smile, we ARE in Disney, after all. We haven’t really decided where we want to go, just that we want to eat. SOON! I tell him we will go to Epcot since it is the quickest to get to and find something to eat there. SG has been hinting in a Oh so subtle way…….NOT. As I recall, she was looking for one of those "Grey Goose Slushies" when we made that last pit stop on the turnpike. She saw the frozen coffee at Starbucks and was asking then if the sold a Grey Goose Slushies.
Little Mr. Manager says he will get us a one day pass to Epcot. Cool, only need to by 6 day park hoppers then, cuz after Epcot we are going to head to DTD for dinner & whatever.
SG says, “He can upgrade us to the DDP????” Give it a shot, I tell her. She thinks for a minute, :scratchin then picks up DD and tells her to give “sweet eyes” and say: “Pa Pa Pa Pa Please, could we get the Deluxe Plan???” I think he kinda raises his hand to her while he is on the phone in a manner that acknowledges her.
About another 20 minutes go by. CL and the rest of the crew decide to browse around the gift shop while I wait at the counter. Of course, every 15-20 minutes she passes me a look like, what is taking soooo long, like I am in control of this situation. Her blood sugar is getting low and I am getting nervous. When this happens no one is going to have a good time until she is fed. Mr. Manager, I need some help, and fast.
Just about now Mr. Manager tells me that DVC has made the new ressies and he is waiting confirmation on his computer. How long, is all I want to know, PLEASE. More waiting. DVC had to RE-ISUE the ressies AGAIN. Second set was lost somewhere in cyberspace. Aint technology grand?
Finally, the ressies have showed up. Mr. Manager says we have already issued cards for a 1 day pass to Epcot for any day of your stay, so you don’t have to buy 7 day passes, you only need 6. And that’s not all. For your trouble, and those pretty blue batting eyes, you are upgrated to the DELUXE dinning plan at no extra cost. :thumbsup2
ALRIGHT! :cool1: And yes we can get the 6-DAY passes on the same key. All is gud after all. NOW, lets get some fud in CL’s gut before I get a kick to mine. :rolleyes1
The room is still not ready (about 3:00 now). So we head over to the International Gateway with free passes in hand and decide we want to go to Mexico for a quick bite. But first we must go to France according to SG. You go to France, I am going to Mexico to get some grubb for the miss while I still can. :flower3:
We get to the Cantina de San Angel where we can get something quick. CL and I got the Plato del Nino with the long sugar stick thing for a desert and a XX beer, she got something else to drink. We find a table close to the water to set up our picnic, and before I can even put my sore butt on the bench one of those d@&# seagulls swooped down and grabed the sugar stick thing off my tray and dropped it on the ground right in front of the trash can. Much to the delight of all the kids within eye sight of my table. :furious:
CL picks it up and starts to “whistle” for the bird to come back. You better knock that thing in the back of the head if you are not going to throw it away, I demand of her. Believe it or not, she actually threw it away. Must have been because she thought is was dirty, because I know she sure would not take my advice about something like that. :sad2:
DD got something off the kids menu and demanded a milk shake even if it was not one of the choices that she had. Oh well, I had to pay extra for my drink, why not her too. Of course she was finished after the 2nd or 3rd sip. I finished all of mine.::yes::
Call the Boardwalk to find out the room is ready. WooHoo! :thumbsup2

After a couple of laps around DTD in and out of half of the shops in Market Place we decide to head over to CJs for dinner. 25 – 35 minutes wait says the cute Hostess. The rest of the Invaders are cool with this. Half of them go for margaritas while the others go snoop through the Rainforest Café’.
The Margarita crew come back and make me sample the margarita while I am holding the buzzer thingy. I can only hope it is not the same buzzer thingy that Buzz had. Here SG, you hold this while I go get a margarita. BRB. Ahhh, no one in line gud. Give me one of those Pa Pa Pa Please. Wow, this taste good as I mossy on back to CJs looking across the water. Life is gud. Hey David hurry up, we are waiting on you. That was a fast 30 minutes.
Lookie here, we get a table for 8 next to the window. I think the cutie hostess likes me. :smokin:
Crab cakes, Spinach & Artichoke dip, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and someone got the Caesar Salad were our deserts. The dip and the Crab Cakes were gud. That is the ones that I tasted. I think the others were not bad either, they were all gone. LM and DD got the fruit or pre-made salad I believe, since that is about the same thing they were offered at most of the eating places on the kids menu.
While we are waiting for our entrees a little boy at the table next to us notices a bird standing outside the window next to our table and ask his mom if people eat those. Mom says I imagine some do. I leaned over to her and said that bird better watch out, we are from Louisiana and will put just about anything in a stew or a gumbo. For some reason she pulled her son a little bit closer to herself. :scared:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/drinksCaptJack-1.jpg
Entrees are here. Most of us ordered the Twin Lobster Tails along with a couple of Pasta dishes. Yes I was one of the pasta’s, the Shrimp and Penne Paste in a lobster sauce. This was very gud. I ASSUMEd CL would at least offer me a small bite of her lobster. Boy was I wrong. If I hadn’t distracted her about that stupid bird again, I would never have know how gud that lobster really was.
As far as the deserts go we tried just about everything on the menu that was un-healthy. It was all great. I thing half of the dishes made it all the way around the table.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/sleepingCaptJacks.jpg
Check time. Since we are at a table of “6 or more” the gratuity is included on the bill. Who would have thought that we would have eaten, most of it anyway, $325.00 worth of food with no “adult” drinks. I think the tips charged on the bill are 18%. Not bad. The service was really good too. Two thumbs up (or maybe 8 thumbs) for Capt Jack’s. Will come back to this one in the future.
Catch a bus back to the BW. Who knew there were that many stops before the BW. I think we counted 5 or 6 stops. Back to the room at 10:30pm.
Next Stop/////////////Pirates, Princesses and Rain Party,,,,,,,Anyone have some Ketchup?????

It sure was worth the wait. We all had a good attitude about it (joking with the CMs and not raising any trouble) might have helped too. By the time they got everything fixed we had them all laughing at us (we kinda had this effect where ever we went), or laughing AT us. Anyway we just might get the Deluxe next trip. I think it will be worth it. If I know ahead of time we can plan it out better. :thumbsup2

The Pirate, Princess and Rain Party & Anyone have some Ketchup????
It is the begging of our first full day in our happy place. After staying out till 11:00 last night and will be staying out late again tonight at PPP, we decided to sleep in a little this morning. I was up before everyone else so I decided to take a walk to see what the boardwalk looks like first thing in the morning.
Not much planned for this morning. Since we slept in we decided to wing it at the MK. Getting into the park with no problem, this is one good thing about not being there at rope drop. It didn’t hurt that it was overcast with a light mist in the air. Just enough to have some people with ponchos (CL didn’t want her hair messed up). We head straight to SM to get a fastpass. It is broke down again. The same thing happened last year. While we are in tomorrow land we hit Buzz’s ride. I didn’t score as good as I had hoped for. But then again I was having just as much fun spinning our (me & DD) spaceship back and forth until DD yelled “Daddy STOP IT”. Then I snapped a quick pic of CL and BG tring to shoot at us before I got back in the right direction. Tried a pic of our score but I forgot to turn off the flash. I think I had something close to 300,000 points, DD 2200 and CL had 50.
Hey, what are you two doing back there? Big smile??? :rolleyes1
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/KevinLeeinBLY.jpg
DD & My scores???
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/scoreinBuzz.jpg
Next was Monsters Inc Laugh Factory (I tried initials only, but it did not look rite). This was pretty good. They kept picking on one poor old baldheaded man that wanted nothing to do with the act. Everyone was pointing at the poor old man on the way out.
We actually went through the Stitch thing. :sad2:
We grabbed a quick bite to eat while we enjoyed Cosmic Ray perform for us. Also used this as a pit stop and I found Buzz’s secret exit. Got lost attempting to go around the back way. :confused3
We headed back to HM but the wait was 50 minutes, so onto BTMRR it is. 15 minutes great! Half way up the line DD decided she did not want to do this. I stayed behind while CL rode. What would they do without me?
Catch POC on our way out. 5:10 ressies at WCC.
Got a corner table for all of us. It was way back in the corner with a lazy Suzan that would not turn. Most of us got the Canyon Skillet all you can eat. I highly recommend this entrée. I wish I could find the recipe for the ribs. They are to die for. She shrimp were superb too. Of course we did have “jon” wanting ketchup. I don’t need to tell you the rest. I have a short video of this but don’t know if I can post it here.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/Jimmyketchupsm.jpg
I think there was 19 bottles in all.
Lil Bit (LB) was the only one to order from the menu. She does not like broccoli and heard about the chicken dance if all was not eaten.
She tried to hide them under some chips but SG found them threatened to rat her out. :rolleyes1
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/HiddenGreenssm.jpg
She finally got DD to help her out. DD loves “trees”.
The deserts here were delicious and of course the presentation was beautiful.

DD8 had the Worms & Dirt
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/Wormsdirtsm.jpg
Back to the room to get dressed for PPP. We were a little late getting back to the Mk but that was OK. We still had a good time. The rain stayed away. So all was gud!
Waiting for the bus back to MK.

Entrance to the P&PP.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/Pics%20with%20Flora/Pirate%20and%20Princess%20Party/PPPentrance.jpg
Short story…”Jon” was with all the ladies at Epcot enjoying the Grey Goose Slushy so much that he even took a picture and sent it to BG to let us know how much fun they were having. He made a mistake (Jon did) of telling BG about a time last year when he got the music from IASW stuck in his head ALL day. It was at this time we decided to go on IASW and record some of the music to send rite back to him. I don’t know if he like it though. We did not hear back from him much after that. :confused3
I am not going to say much about this, just let the pictures talk. Disney does an amazing job with the way they display the lights. We were able to ride our favorite rides with little or now lines. HM, BTMRR (BG & LM rode while DD & I snacked), SM, BTMRR among others. Here are some pics. Hope it is not too many. May pose again with just pics.

WCC is not what I would call a "fancy" place. Like MTD said, you do need to go with the right frame of mind and not expecting "superb" service. They toss the napkins and straws on your table, among other things. We tried to warn Jon, but he just could not do without his ketchup. :sad2:

Sorry DM. The camera was in the bedroom next to the be (where CL was still sleeping) and I learned a looooong time ago, never ever wake her up before she is ready. If you want to have a good morning, that is. :scared: I do have some pics of the Boardwalk later in the report, I promise. How about some morning pics of the view from the room???
We opted for the standard view room since we did not anticipate spending much time in the room and thought we might want to use the extra points for another trip or a longer stay.

Hey Ed, Cool Mickey, like his shorts.
I am working on an update. The honey do list has killed me this week. Just last night CL added about a dozen items to the list of things to get done it the yard, like transplanting shrubbs, cutting down trees, getting rid of stumps, removing a garden and cleaning up another garden, and Oh yea, get a veggie garden started again this year. :sad2:
Spring is tring to come down here, so I spend a lot of time in the yard, except this morning it is 31 deg but suposed to get upto the upper 60's today. :confused3
I will be going back to work in the morning (to rest). When I am on the Disboards I spend a lot of time reading other reports. ;)
Thanks for checking in.

Hold It Right There>>>>Hand That Thing To Me Butt First!!!
Alright we made it through our first full day in the world.
Since we stayed out sooo late last night, we decided to sleep in again this morning and head to Hollywood Studios. This is not our favorite park, so we are OK with not being here for the rope drop.
While waiting on the boat to DHS, DD says, “Daddy, I need to potty”. Yep, her and I head back upstairs to remedy the situation. :sad2: DD finishes up with the paperwork and we begin to head downstairs so I call BG to find out that they are on the boat just pulling away from the boardwalk. Looks like it is going to be a race to the Studios, boat or walk. DD & I make a circle between the giftshop and the lobby before we finally get started heading in the correct direction. We get to the entrance just as the boat pulled up to the dock. We win!!:cheer2:
As soon as we get through the turntables we have to wait for the girls and Jon, of course, for a pit stop. While we are looking in the direction of the facilities I hear in a very loud and stern voice, “HOLD IT, HOLD IT RIGHT THERE”, I instinctively hit the deck and spread eagle on the ground. Then I hear, “Hand that to me butt first.” DD says “Daddy what are you doing?” I get up and notice the cop talking to a kid.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/KidWGunsm.jpg
This funny young boy decides to play hard to get and makes about 3 laps around his dad before the cop can catch him. I guess the massive size of his horse made it hard for the cop to maneuver around the boy's dad.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/GetGunsm.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/DuncanDonutGettingGunsm.jpg
The officer finally gets the weapon from the juvenile and fights with it for about 2 minutes before he dislodges what he expects to be a bullet. He then announces that this young man is a stuntman. He kinda fusses with them asking why didn’t you tell me you were a stuntman. Then he says “I am officer Duncan Donut, he is a stuntman and I have everything under control.”

After this freighting encounter with the law we decide to get ressies at 50’s PT.
While waiting on our food we were attempting to get ADRs for dinner but everything was booked up. Tonight is the last showing of Fantasmic for a while, so I guess everybody was doing the same thing as us. "Cuzin Sue" overheard us attempting to make ressies so she got someone to come to our table to help. A nice young man (manager, I guess) came to our table and talked with us for a minute and SG told him she wanted ressies at H&V for that afternoon. He came back to the table and told SG she had ressies at H&V for 5pm. :thumbsup2
Service was great and the food was pretty good too. “Cuzin Sue” was giving me a hard time and told me I should wait my turn to order or I would be sent to the corner. DD loved this idea. :sad2:
DD got a hot dog, I got the Pot Roast, very good, BG got a burger with fries and a little ketchup. He was glad to see it on the table and not have to ask for any. DD and LM both got the ice cream to decorate for desert while CL ate the smores.

Now onto TOT. We get to the gate and the CM threatens to hang Flora, until DD comes unglued on her.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/FloraToTentersm.jpg
We make it all the way till where you get to the first room with the movie when DD decides that she may not want to ride it this year, then she got mad at me because I said we need to go back out through the “chicken” line. She told CL “Daddy called me a chicken”. Can you say “doghouse”? She does let me go on RnR with the rest of the Bushwackers. This is a first time for me. Now I don’t think I care about SM anymore. It is so smooooooth.
We will meet them at after show for dinner at H&V. Only CL, DD and I are eating at H&V. The food wasn’t bad but the service was by far the worst we experienced at Disney. After we finished eating it took 30 minutes for the waitress to get our check to us. We have time to kill while waiting for Fantasmic so CL & DD want to see Beauty & The Beast. CL & DD loved the show, I thought it was ok. Disney does an awesome job with the costumes and the production.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg223/DARuss/BB5sm.jpg
Just enough time to get to Fantasmic. The show was like no other show I have seen before. We are so glad to have the chance to see it this year. This is the first time we have seen this show. Well worth fighting the crowds.
