Has anyone tried Boma at AKL? Did you like the food? Is the food a little different? We were also thinking about trying it for the Christmas dinner since we'll be staying there.

I have been to Boma twice so far and I enjoyed the food both times. Yes some of the food is a little different but they also have chicken fingers, etc. I esp. liked the Prime Rib that they had. My second trip, I went with both of my sisters and we had an awesome time trying all the different food.

If you have kids, just keep in mind that some of the desserts have alcohol in them. They are well marked but you may want to go up to the dessert part with them.

We love Boma. The food is a little different but there is a huge selection and really something for everyones tastes. They also have some of the old standbys for pickier eaters such as pasta, fries, chicken. The soups, salads and desserts are also really good.

We LOVE Boma. The salads and soups are unique and absolutely delicious. The meat selections are also different but there are some more "American" selections for the less adventurous. You will also find a table with mac-and-cheese, chicken, etc that appeals to kids. And the desserts are fabulous. We try to go every trip. If your family does not like to try new things, then this may not be the best choice for you. We usually dislike buffets but love Boma.

I loved BOMA and as  the op mentioned they do have chicken fingers for kids. Some of my friends are very picky eaters and they did not enjoy it.

I've eaten at Boma three times and will go back again (and again!) Food is very good, service is very good and the atmosphere and resort are wonderful!

I personally did not like the food at Boma. They use some kind of spice I didn't like. There were a few dishes I thought were okay but I didn't eat enough to justify what I paid.

Add us to those who love Boma! We were there for the first time on our last trip and will definitely be going back. The chicken corn porridge was excellent, as was the prime rib. Never did get to the desert table as I was too full from the other courses.

Thank you for the replies. Just curious...anyone try the Christmas dinner or do they have the same menu as other days?

A lot of the dishes use spices that give the food an "exotic" flavor. I tasted some cinnamon, cumin, cardamom and some that I couldn't identify. I loved the food there. The variety of flavors was spectacular and I waaay overate trying as many as I could.

We LOVE Boma! We even held our rehearsal dinner before our wedding there. They have such a vast selection that anyone with any special dietary restrictions can be accomodated. Some of the food is really exotic, while other selections are really simple and common dishes.

To us Boma's is the best buffet in Disney.

According to another site, Boma will have a Buffet with Holiday items. I am not sure what those holiday items will be, but at VWL at WCC (which is usually BBQ items) they had turkey and stuffing with gravy and another meat, pork I think.

Boma is a place that we go to about every 3 or so years. It is not our favorite, but we do enjoy it. The same for WCC (actually for dinner we only ate there once, we like other places more). But it was so nice on Christmas day, to stroll our of our room and wander down to dinner ;) . I think Boma on Christmas day is an excellent choice!

DH & I loved Boma. It was great trying all kinds of new foods. I'm not usually an adventurous person. I tried a little of everything and went back for seconds on lots of items. We'll be going back on future trips.

I'll second that.

I'll have seconds as well . . . and thirds . . . and fourths . . . and . . . :)

Their prime rib, peanut rice, and mushroom soup are to die for.
