sorry if this has already been posted and im sure I already know the answer but just want to confirm...if I have a % off pin code can I apply that to two seperate room only reservations (ie. split stay) with myself on the reservation? I feel like the answer is no and that you can only use a pin code once rather than apply to numerous reservations...just confirming...thanks!!

Hi first time poster, long time lurker! :)
We have been going to Disney for over 10 years now, my wife and I. We have been doing multiple trips a year now and got an annual pass for this year.
I am some questions re: discounts for the annual pass holders. . .
are there any other codes or pins that pass holders might get besides what is advertised on the disney webpage such as the rates are available out to 4/16 right now?
Also when I called to book a trip yesterday the cast member said there was nothing out past 4/16 yet but there was a code he gave me from the newsletter. he said it could only be used online? i thought u can't put coeds in online? sooooo I called back today and the cast member said u can't put them in online and it was for use calling in even though the last cast member said it was for online use only.
I'm getting kinda confused at this point. any tips for annual pass holders for discounts. is there a place i can get a full list of what's out there and i thought by being an annual holder now i didn't have to bother wit the whole wait for a message on my email anymore, but it seems like I might still have to?
Thanks! Sorry if this is confusing but I can't get one story to line up with 2 cast members. Everyone tells a diff story!
It's frustrating. I remember years ago U just booked and went. U called a few months early for dinner reservations and U got anything U wanted. Now I got my cellphone beeping me with a reminder to get out there and make dinner res 180 days out,not cause i want ot but cause I HAVE to now or I won't get in any of the places we want.
So different than years ago. . . not all bad just different!
Thanks for listening and hope to hear from some people soon with advice!
All the best,
jimi

AP holders do get PINS sometimes too, Jimi. There is one out right now. Check your spam folder, and don't delete anything from Disney Destinations without reading first.

Hey thanks for that. Is it the ones for the two chunks of time that don't cover July but up to oct?
Oh I always check it. I make sure of that?
If this isn't the one can u maybe get back to me?
Thanks,

Oh no! I just deleted an email from Disney Destinations and then emptied my deleted folder. Is there any way to still find a pin? I had never heard about pins / codes, etc... this is all new to me.

Deleted... I found my answer.
I received a pin and didn't even know it. Am not an expert by any means and just planned a trip for DD who is there right now. After reading this thread on pins, I realized a few weeks back I received an email from Disney Destinations but didn't really pay attention to it. Went back to it today and sure enough, there it was. Unfortunately WDW is not in the plans for this year (going to Italy this summer, it will be our 25th wedding anniversary and taking both our children too) Wish it didn't have to go to waste as I'm dying to get back to WDW.
I have a question though, and forgive me if I've missed this somewhere. Can you give the Pin number to a travel agent, or do you have to book it yourself?

Lurker but first time poster here!!
We've booked a trip to Disney November 19th-26th 2011 at the Wilderness Villas (2-bedroom). We received a PIN just today...YAYAYAY!.
My TA is currently on the Disney Dream Cruise so I called Disney myself to find out what I was entitled to. They wouldn't give me all of the details but said we were blacked out for all days but one. We were eligible for 40% off ONE DAY. Wahhh.
Do they ever LIFT the black out dates??? Has anyone experienced a black out? If so, are there other promotions that you know of during this time period that may be more worth our while if we are offered it? Anyone also in the same boat? Love to hear from you!!!!

Major Holidays like Thanksgiving are always blacked out when it comes to % off room discounts, pin # or public offer.
I do believe in 2010 FD was offered in Nov with cutoff before Thanksgiving week but as long as you check in on the last day of the FD promo or before it will extend thru your vacation up to a total of 14 days.

Another boardie got a PIN with these dates and I submitted a thread somewhere else, but not sure i the correct place...so double checking here.
Another boardie got this: cut and pasted
"Special Resort Offer

at Disney Value Resorts and
Disney Moderate Resorts
Save up to 40%*
at Disney Deluxe Resorts and

Can somebody please confirm my understanding of the various discount types and how they can be used? I've been to DL once but have never been to WDW and this is a whole new and confusing world for me! We're planning a trip for fall 2012 (we are having a Disney wedding) and I know it's a long time away but I like to be organised early! We will definitely be staying in a Disney resort, most likely one of the Port Orleans, and possibly a Deluxe for a few nights around the actual wedding. So what I'm wondering is:
1. We will get APs with the wedding package (since they are free I'm not really fussed if we have to buy park tickets as well to be eligible for certain discounts). If we use our APs and don't buy park tickets does this mean we are not eligible to purchase a dining plan? I know AP holders get a discount on Tables of Wonderland passes, but I don't think we would really benefit from buying one.. the dining plans on the other hand sound great.
2. If free dining is offered, it is my understanding that it can't be used in combination with any other discount (e.g. room discounts). Is that correct?
3. Can you receive free dining if you have an AP or do you need actual park tickets?
4. Is my best chance of getting a PIN code to somehow give WDW my email address? Unfortunately because I live in Australia they won't post me a planning DVD so I can't give my details that way. Is there some kind of newsletter I can sign up to or something?
5. I know that nobody knows for sure when free dining will be offered, or who will get a PIN, but in the past has it been offered in early November (before Thanksgiving)? And if so; was it to the general public or only the lucky people to receive PINs?
Thank you SO much for your help! :thumbsup2

Typically there is a "paid" dining offer for those who hold Annual Passes. Ask when you book. (This isn't a discount it's regular price)
2. If free dining is offered, it is my understanding that it can't be used in combination with any other discount (e.g. room discounts). Is that correct?
Correct. Only one discount offer per booking may be used.
3. Can you receive free dining if you have an AP or do you need actual park tickets?
And typically there is no alternate offer for those with AP's for FREE DINING. Free dining requires ticket purchase almost always.
4. Is my best chance of getting a PIN code to somehow give WDW my email address? Unfortunately because I live in Australia they won't post me a planning DVD so I can't give my details that way. Is there some kind of newsletter I can sign up to or something?
Sign up @ Disney.com and do the online vacation planning thing. That will work too.
5. I know that nobody knows for sure when free dining will be offered, or who will get a PIN, but in the past has it been offered in early November (before Thanksgiving)? And if so; was it to the general public or only the lucky people to receive PINs?
I'm going by memory.. but while I know it has been offered in that calendar month before T-Giving once or twice.. I wouldn't count on that. Sometimes they extend past end of October.. but .. no guarantees.

Quick question:
What if I make my reservation now with no discount, then later on receive a PIN but don't realize it...
Will Disney let me know somehow I have an unused PIN (via confirmation of reservation later down the line, or a phone call, even upon check-in, etc.) or will they just apply it on their own if no other discount has been applied yet??? Or nothing at all?
If they frown upon guests calling to ask if a PIN has been attached to a name (or if they won't give the info through the reservation system anymore), how does one truly make sure there's no PIN? Just take a chance and call 45 days out and hope you get someone nice?
Disney is up-to-date on our email and snail mail addresses, but if a PIN comes to my husband who isn't ACTIVELY looking for it... :confused3 Chances are it will never see the light of day.
Thank you!

I do not think Disney alerts you to the fact that a pin # has been attached to your name. At least I do not recall anyone saying that they have. I usually ask about a pin when I call to make changes , add flights, add room requests.
I had to chuckle a little when you said about your DH getting an email, since I bug mine all the time asking if he has checked his Junk mail folder.
Disney did send him a pin , thank goodness it came snail mail

Here's a question I never thought I'd have to ask, but how long do you have until personal PIN codes expire?
See, I got a PIN in my email on Feb 12 and I thought, "Okay, great! Let me get the gang together and see when they want to go." It's taken me until now to get everyone to commit to a date, so I go tonight to get the pin out of my email and see that it says to, "Hurry now and book before Feb 28!"
Does that mean my PIN code is expired and I can no longer use it? And why would they send me a PIN if I've only got a few weeks to act upon it? Yikes!
We're still planning on going, but if the PIN's not valid, we may be staying offsite instead.

My teenage son thought he would be funny, went into my WDW account and ordered a free vacation DVD under the name Ben Dover. Juvenile joke, AUGH! So- now we get advertisement materials from WDW for the Dover Family! it was sort of funny until I got a free dining pin code in the mail for Ben Dover during the exact June 2011 dates I would need it for. So- I called the Reservationist and embarrasingly told her the whole sordid story. She said since it is in the wrong name, I can't use it. Even though it came to my address and it is my child that pulled this. There is no Ben Dover so, obvious his name can't be on teh ressie.
Anyone ever have any success getting pin code name issues straightened out? So frustrated...:confused3

Thanks for letting me know. I still have no idea why they'd send me a PIN code that expired barely two and a half weeks after it arrived. Well, unless we get another one in the next couple of months, offsite rental condo it is.

I learned to pay close attention to all info on the offer. The dates it can be used, book by date (expiration date) and phone number to call to use. I booked on time but then tried to change my dates to another allowed time and one CM told me I couldn't because the book by date/pin code was expired. I called another one who said no at first but then she called someone else who allowed her to make the change in dates at the pin code rate (40% off). Just depends on which CM you get sometimes.

I noticed you stayed at the Dolphin in 2010. How did you like your expereince compared to an actualy Disney hotel? Would you care to share some pro and cons?
Are extended family and I are hoping to trade RCI points for DVC points for a Grand Villa - but the wait seems endless! (I got on the list Jan 1 of 2009) We plan to travel on New Year's Day 2012! ;-) SO enlight of that we're considering giving up and booking at the Swan or Dolphin.
Any thoughts? I've been to WDW many times but only stayed at Disney properties.

Hi fellow DISers! I have a PIN question:
So I got an email from disney destinations the other day after I had been on the WDW website, playing around with the reservations. (Just dreaming , a trip like that would not happen for at least a couple of years). The beginning of the email contained a trip I had "planned" on the website and never booked, and a PIN #, 15 digits in length. Scroll down past the trip info and other random park info, there was a "special resort offer" for 10% off all disney resorts for a few select weeks in the fall. Does the PIN code go with the discont, or the trip I had "planned"? I have never been to WDW (always DLR) and I have never gotten a PIN before. Thanks for the help!

You are so lucky! I'm crossing my fingers for a code. Never had one, never knew about them before DISboards. Our trip is 10/23-28 and we have only ever stayed at value resorts. CBR is at the top of my list, but it would take up every last dollar in our budget. Haven't booked a room yet, still weighing our options. Just 15 min ago through these boards I learned about a typical 10% AAA discount, I didn't think they offered it on rooms. We just need room only, we have no exp passes from '08 we'll use, although we do need to buy tix for my son who was 2 at the time, now 5.
Crossing my fingers for a room-only discount!!

Yes. We received a pin code to our CORRECT name and email address, but when I called to make my ressie, DIS had the wrong street address (in another state ) associated with the PIN code! Since I couldn't confirm the address to the CM because I had never LIVED in that state, CM said we couldn't use the PIN code. I persisted and said that since it seemed to be a DIS clerical error, the policy seems unfair. CM would NOT relent on this PIN code offer, BUT she did get me some other type of "mystery" discount that she would not disclose. I was very appreciative of her hard work to get to the bottom of the issue. :worship:

Pin codes 'I think' are like finding a needle in a haystack. Or in this case a 'pin' in a haystack?:)
I've signed up everywhere as well and had a dvd ordered but still no special info. I'm going in November and will be staying deluxe as it stands they still are offering me 'rack rates' so there is no incentive at this time to commit:confused3

UPDATE 4-28-2011: Disney World Free Dining in August and September has been announced for Disney Visa cardholders. The General Public will be allowed to book this deal on May 2nd, 2011.
UPDATE: Just heard from a reader on the facebook page that codes are also being distributed for Fall dates.
Thanks to Erin Foster for the update that select guests (who have given DisneyWorld.com their email address for special offers) are receiving the chance to book free dining for arrivals most nights from 4/23–8/13/11 via email with a special one-time-use pin code.
Deluxe and Villa resort packages are being offered with the Standard Disney Dining Plan for free; Value and Moderate resort packages are being offered the Quick-Service Disney Dining Plan for free.
Guests must book by 4/30/11, and must use the pin code included in the email. Hopefully this will develop into a general public offer.

unfortunately I do not qualify for dining regardless as I already have tickets... unless... I decide NOT to use my tickets and book the package AND save my tickets for a future visit as tickets expire 14 days AFTER you first use them? And it's not like I'll NEVER use them again? :woohoo: Just need to wait and see and maybe be extra nice to dh???? :rolleyes1 hee hee

I'm confused - are these dates for next year? Should this be book by 4/30/12? Dates 4/23 -8/13/12? :confused3

My ex boyfriend and I went to disney two years ago....today, I recieved a postcard wtih a pin in his name. Our names should be together in the disney system as we went on the trip together....however, the postcard is just in his name.....do you think I will be able to use the discount?

We are going 10/30 - 11/09/11. This is the 1st time in years we are not going in Sept. during the free dining. B/c part of my trip is work related I am able to afford to go at this time. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any discounts or dinning offers that were offered during this time in the past. I would really hope to take advantage of those savings and may go to the mnsshp or the christmas party.
:cool1:FREE DINING GAVINSMOM. I'm waiting for discount room rates. Historically offered anytime up until Sept.24th... Already have tickets so free dining not the best deal for me BUT YEEHAW for you. Enjoy:hug: lucky duck

Anyone Know;
Yes, they have a current dinning package on going for the dates you are going. I know because we are going in Oct too. Go to the WDW main page and look under tickets and packages. There you will click on special offers. Click on the Free Dining offer with the picture of Timon form Lion King.
Also if you have not done so already. I would the reservations # and ask if you or your wife have a pin code under your names. Not everyone has one, they are random. I called today and found I have a 30% code which will save us more then the free dining.
Hope this helps.

sooooo..... if you get an offer by email or mail for a discount at a resort, can you not use that offer along with free dining? How does that work?:confused3
Kicking around options for a group of 11 of us to make a trip next year and just wondered if it's possible (in the unlikely event that I receive an offer) to use both......
TIA....

No, you can't combine a free dining offer with other discounts like room/ticket discounts. The free dining offers involve buying a Magic Your Way package with a room and park tickets, paying rack rate for the rooms, but including the Dining Plan. If there's more than one discount offer (free dining vs. others) available to you, you have to pick which one works best for your situation.

Thanks for all the great info.
Sorry if this has been answered already. (This is hypothetical; not for what's out there currently.) Let's say there's a room only discount and a free dining discount out at the same time. Can you request one room through the free dining package and then request a connecting room using the room only discount? Or would the connecting room have to be at the rack rate? Thx...

I will be at WDW April 14-22. Of course, I'd love a discount!! I am probably looking into this too much and should just be patient before imagining all the "what ifs", but I can't! I am worried that IF a discount comes out, it will begin on April 15 (since the 14th is still holiday pricing). If that is the case, what can I do to still get the discount for the remainder of my vacation? If it is a room only discount, I know I can leave my dates the way they are and just get the discount on the nights it is offered. But what if it is kids stay and play free? We aren't planning on going to a park the 14, so should I just make that day room only? IF we decided to go to a water park that day, could I pick our tickets up early? What about if it were free dining? Thanks for any advice.

I'll give it a shot :confused3 A previous question was somewhat related and the answer was basically one or the other BUT... Technically you could IMHO take one room free dining, but all parties in that room would have had to pay for park tickets and room included in that rack rate but you would get your free dining for all those in that one room. You could technically get a second room (if available) with connecting doors at RO discount, but the party in that second room, would not get free dining nor would they have park passes. This is what we are doing. My BIL and SIL with their kids are doing the FD and we jumped in to join them on vacation but already had our tickets and we do not like FD (limits our choices) so we got a RO discount and have made a request for adjoining rooms. Request is made but ONLY if available. We are hoping for at the least, the same building and same hallway... Going to GF with 30% RO discount

I thought this might be the case. I'm glad you found a way for it to work with your group. I hope you get connecting/adjoining or at least close. It sounds fun; I'm trying to talk my bro and SIL into doing the same thing. I was interested in doing this for the extra space. I have a feeling I'll have to get a family suite or just stick to one room. Or maybe rent dvc points and decide whether to buy the dining plan oop. Hmm...

We received the Game On postcard generically addressed to our last name @ our address. (Dates won't work for us & it's only for 4 nights--we stay 7.)I get other general info sent to my email address on file with Disney. It's my name on our 'account' on the webpage. BUT--does anyone know if my DH might have different codes under his name since his the first one on any of our past reservations? Currently booked under the spring room discount for our June 2012 trip but would like to see if there are other options out there just to compare offers.

Just so you know it has been my expierence with the Game on offer you recieve via snail mail that if you call you may just find out it is good for other dates than the ones specified.............Ours said Dec 1-Dec 022, turned out it was good for the entire year and I was able to use it for our Oct vacation in 2010, also the 4 days is just an example, Disney will usually show Mon- Thurs as an example for price as weekends(Fri & Sat Nights) are at a higher rate.
Nothing to lose by calling to see if the pin might work for your dates, a lot to lose($$$) if you just toss it in the trash without calling

Don't know if this was posted already, but thought I'd share. We had booked a 5 night free dining for this Jan when the offer was still active. We later decided to add 2 more nights. The offer had expired, but we were allowed to add the nights on to our existing reservation, continuing the free dining for the longer stay.

We received a pin code in the mail in my husband's name in November for dates in 2012, but we let it expire because we didn't think we were going to be able to go this year. We just decided though that we can't make it another year without a trip, so when I called to book, they told us we had a pin code under my name now. Not sure how it works, but I think it's worth it to call and ask. We are now able to stay at CSR our favorite resort! :yay:

Yeah, it said on the postcard to call regarding other dates, lengths of stay and accommodations. I got excited! :woohoo: Called, explained to the CM what I was calling about & what the card said, told him we were interested in other dates and for more nights (didn't tell him we were already booked-didn't want him to think they didn't need to extend the offer since we're already planning on going.) He did some checking...but the only thing he offered was the spring discount (which we're already booked under.) :sad2: Oh well, like you said, nothing lost. We're still booked but now hoping for the free dining that's rumored to be coming for our dates. The room discount is nice & we had planned to go OOP this trip (have always had free dining.) But if the free dining comes out I think we'll take it. It will save us much more than the spring room discount.

I hope FD comes out for the dates of your trip, FD does not work as well for DH and I since there are just two of us and we tend to stay Deluxe. We are booked with the RO GP Spring Offer too for 30% which I had to change resorts to get since CR was excluded- only 5% discount:scared1:

I received a code by email today, but all it says is that they're excited we are thinking about staying at all-star music and here's some pictures to look at. Then it tells our vacation plans that I had plugged in and says to book now and mention the specific code. I clicked book now and went through to the end of the process on the site but it doesn't look like I got any discount.
Does Disney just send our codes that save the trips you've looked at or am I looking at it wrong??

There may be some assigned PIN codes where you can only call, but the recent ones I have received provide the option to either call or use the PIN online. You're provided with the address to visit where you can enter your assigned PIN code, last name, and zip code.

I'm sorry Halloween Baby - I don't know the answer to this.
Whenever we've gotten an email, or snail mail code, it's been for free dining, or a percentage off the resorts. I've never rec'd a code for a specific resort. I hope someone in the know will come along soon to answer your question.
BTW - maybe you should save some more expensive resorts too - just in case!:rotfl:

When you're calling to ask if you have any type of discount what info do you give?
Reason I'm asking is I can't recall if when we've gone before if we've booked under DHs name, my maiden name or my hyphenated married name but without the hyphen. I know, that last part is confusing. I'll explain ...
DH last name is Smith
My maiden last name is Doe
I use Doe-Smith as my last name
Not every business will use the hyphen and they will delete my actual middle name and make my maiden last name as my middle name with DHs last name as my full last name.
I got to wondering about it because last year I was getting snail mail offers at least every other month. This year, to date, nothing. I don't recall which name they came in.
I searched through my emails, I rarely delete emails, and I had received a new offer every 3 months beginning in 2010. Every offer was sent to Doe, my maiden name.
Should I call and ask to have all 3 names checked?
BTW - Doe and Smith aren't our real last names. Just examples. ;)

Got a snail mail PIN today for 20% off room only. It may not be the best offer, but an offer nonetheless. We were looking at moderates for our trip in December. We were willing to pay the rack rates, but getting a PIN has helped bring down the rates. Since we got the PIN we were wondering, can you add the dining plan to this offer? If so, do you have to add it at the time of booking? Or can it be added on later? I know we would also have to buy our tickets through Disney. We did the math and we found it may be worthwhile for us to do so. This would be our first time staying on-site. So I'm trying to learn all that I can. TIA

Quick questions...we booked two rooms at csr with a free dining pin in my boyfriends name. The first room is us and second is my mom but we all live at the same address...so it wont be a problem right?
Second question..my bf might have a job offer and not be able to go on trip...will we be able to use his pin still bc its in his name? We would still need two rooms we will also be brining my brother and son.

Is there any chance I can apply to that a trip booked pre-Jan 4? Or would it have to be a new booking?
I think you can use the new deal you saw. I recently saw the "summer room discount" for a trip I had already booked. I just called WDW directly and asked if I could use the deal for my current reservation. They made the switch with no hassles, under the original ressie, and I saved $800. Give it a try.
