Should I identify myself as a "DISer" when we go to disney? In case someone were to see it? That would be cool. :)

Cool! But one question... how did lime green become the official color? Is there some significance to lime green that I just don't know or is it something obvious and I'm just being stupid?

Happy reading! This is as close as I have been able to come to the mystery. Not sure who originally thought of it but you might find your answer there. :goodvibes

How cool!!!! I love the FAQ. And from there I got the idea of the "advent" use of the mickey heads. Now I gotta go figure out how I'm going to lift 90 mickey heads from Home Depot.

ha ha. My local Home Depot does not seem to care. I just take em' lol. My co-workers do the same for me, so I end up with lots and lots.

I saw another thread where a lady laminated them and made luggage tags out of them. Too cool.

Keep in mind that just wearing lime green does not signify a DIS connection--this tidbit of information can save you some embarassment! Lime green was originally choosen because it was such an "odd" color that no one else would wear. Since then it has become popular--who knew! :rotfl:

You will probably see lots of lime green shirts, crocs, bandannas, strollers etc.. . in the parks. Don't automatically assume they are DISers or you may get some strange looks! The best way is still with the HDLGMHPC (Home Depot Lime Green Mickey Head Paint Chip for the newbies) The actual color is Alien Green. Usually I put my username on it in black to make it obvious, and the letters DIS or something. I put them in very visable spots, the back of my backpack, on my stroller, on my fanny pack, the back of my ECV last time. I have met quite a few people that saw my LGMH and started talking to me, and have also approached others. It is really neat and fun. I still talk to one of them quite a bit on the boards since we met in the All Stars Food Court almost 2 years ago.

I have a laminated LGMH hanging off the zipper of my backpack and on my camera strap. I am always in favor of giving newbies the advice, if you see someone with a lime green mickey... chances are they are experts on the parks, if you have questions feel free to ask nice, odds are they know the answer, or have some one on speed dial that knows the answer.

Sitting in Cape May for dinner on my last trip in Sept. A lady at the next table asked me what it meant, and I kinda explained... I then spent the rest of dinner giving them all kinds of tips and tricks, and my resie for chef mickey breakfast that we had changed plans and were not using.

At the opening ceremony at AK a young lady tapped me on the shoulder and said hi I'm a diser too.

Think of it as a cult.

My friend and I laminated our LGMH's with our info on them and stuck them everywhere! Backpacks, strollers, shirts, our kids, even our hotel room doors. AND..... NOTHING!!!!! We did not meet a single disser! Major Bummer! Oh well, so much for trying.

If you dont want to take the paint cards you can print this out and laminate it.

i used them as magnets and luggage tags!

Also, if you order a hat, Brad does a great job. I highly recommend one.

within 30 minutes of checking into our hotel because of a LGMH on my backpack. It was fun to chat about the DIS tips we had learned:thumbsup2
Also had fun decorating our hotel window with the LGMH and other MH's. and locating others in the hotel. My DS & DM thought I was crazy, but then kind of got into it after we had been there a while and saw others..
