Forgive me if this has been asked before . . . :confused3

I know that we get AP vouchers as part of our DFTW packages. And I know that there is usually a room rate discount for AP holders. But, in order to get the ball rolling on an Escape wedding, we need to have a room reservation locked-in before we get the vouchers . . .

Now finally my question: is it possible to call Reservations once we have the vouchers/AP's and change our inital reservation to the reduced room rate?

I really appreciate any info - DF & I just totaled what the hotel portion is going to be, and it took quite a chunk outta the ol' budget :rolleyes1 - any discounts are gonna help!

TIA!

Well first thing, the AP room discounts aren't automatic. This is what it says inside the Passholder Program that they give you with the pass.

"Walt Disney World Resort Room Discounts: Periodically, a limited number of rooms may be made available at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels and select Disney Vacation Club Resorts at a discounted rates for Passholders."

I would go ahead and get the room, and if you happen to see discounts for your resort at the time you are staying; then see if they can give you the discount. If you have any other questions, you can go on the Codes and Rates board. They will probably know more about this.

Thanks for the info PrincessBride07! :goodvibes

I figured the discounts wouldn't be automatic, but I can hope/dream/pray . . . :scared:

Thanks again!

If/when Disney releases a discount for Annual Pass Holders (usually during off-peak), you can apply the discount code to an existing reservation. Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Thanks Jessi! :goodvibes

I'm really hoping that they will have a discount when we need it - it's good to know that if we do get lucky, we'll be able to change our ressie for the better rate!

Thanks again for the info!

When are do we get a chance to start using our AP? my DF and I are planning to go for our planning session and it would be great if we could use the passes then.

I called the Passholder line and got rooms for when we went down for Christmas and asked for the Passholder rate and told them we were going to activate them when we got down there. We had not activated our passes until we got down there. No one ever asked to see our APs....
