I'll soon be booking a room at POFQ for our October 08 trip and have found the cheapest prices to be on the wdw.co.uk website.

Are there any pros and cons to booking direct with Disney? Or booking online with them vs over the phone? Have you found better alternatives?

I'll be booking the park tickets with them later in the year and am holding off on booking flights, hoping for a sale somewhere.

People in the states seem to book direct with Disney, but I'm not entirely confident it's the best thing in if you're in the UK.

We booked direct with them 2 years ago and everything was perfect. I think we booked park tickets with them at the same time. We booked our flight tickets online around the same time as well. We would book with them again. I think we paid all money online, deposit first, then final balance so many weeks before travel. All paper work was just printed off and kept for hotel check-in. I think we did phone nearer time just to double check with booking ref and ADR.

I've booked with them for the first time for our August holiday. Everything seems to be straight forward and I paid my deposit on-line too :thumbsup2

We allways book direct with Disney in the US. The deposit is equal to 1 night and the booking can be changed at anytime or even cancelled with a full refund.

Over the last year it has also been much cheaper due to the exchange rate not sure what difference it makes now that the exchange rate has dropped a bit.

I booked POP, through the UK site, this Summer and paid online :)

Even though the exchange rate was good (1.98 I think) it still worked out cheaper than booking through the US site-another person on the boards found this too although I can't remember who :thumbsup2

I was checking a few days ago for someone, booking on US site was £300 cheaper than .co.uk, you need to check both.
Check as many sites as poss, Expedia often do 1 night free but I find them overpriced to start with, hotelopia(Tui) usually have codes flying about, I just booked my hotel for August with 15% code and 10% cashback thru rpoints.com

I think the reason it always works out much cheaper for us is that although we book at rack rate we have always used a code to reduce the price (we keep an eye on the American codes board). The difference is that in the US just because you book at a certain price doesn't mean that you can't apply codes after booking. This worked for us in Jan, Jun & Dec last year.

It does take a bit more time and I think we possibly notice bigger savings as we book Deluxe concierge rooms.

I think that if you find a price your happy with book it and then stop looking (I wish I could take my own advice :rolleyes1 )

And Babyboo, I feel happy with the price I've found on wdw.co.uk, but since I started reading these boards I've become more and more obsessed with finding the lowest possible price! :scared: I'm now having to convince myself that if I book the room and find out after that I could have gotten it cheaper, it won't be the end of the world!

I always book direct with Disney in the US. As earlie post said, you can cancel pretty much up to 24 hours in advance, plus if you find a discount code you can sometimes apply it afterwards. On the first night of my trip in December we stayed at CBR for $99 a night and the last part of the holiday at SSR for $222 a night.
