Ok, I was just at WDW and ventured over to FW to bike around the property and look at the loops. We've got a popup and I'm not too keen on being put amongst all the motor homes. Is the 1500 loop a partial hookup loop (no sewer)? Is that why there's only tents and popup campers? Are there any other partial hookup loops? I love the 1500 loop, but what are my chances of getting in in August? (Yeah, I know... Florida in August.)

yes...1500 is partial hook up (elec & water only)as well as the 2000 loop. I literally JUST got off the phone with reservations and got in for May22-May31 with no problems...even got the AAA discount. It seems like the partial sites are alot easier to get than full or preferred. Good luck!

The 1500 loop is a partial hookup; that and the 2000 loop. I love 1500. It is a small, intimate loop that is very central to everything. My kids could ride their bikes over to the playground, even if I wasn't quite ready to join them. I have no experience with the 2000 loop, but I have noticed that it is more isolated, and for that reason I have never requested it. This last trip, we had to wait for a site in the 1500 loop for a couple of hours, but it was worth it!:goodvibes

WE have only stayed at the 1500 loop and we have always loved the central location of it. Being so close to the pool and trading post made it a great place to stay.

Ok, I've already booked a campsite for this August (might get pushed to next August - but insurance is good). I booked it through AAA, just because they did my last two trips. I booked room only and I'll pick up our tiks later. Now, if I want the 1500 loop, do I just have AAA put in the request and hope for the best?

Why don't you want to be with the motorhomes? We have popups next to us all the time. I was just curious. Although, if you don't have a bathroom in your popup, there really is no point paying the extra for a full hookup.

Well... I don't have anything against motorhomes per se. It just feels more like camping when you're with other popups and tents. I feel very puny beside motorhomes. Believe me, I'd love to actually own one myself. We are still looking to upgrade to a larger popup but it will most likely have a cassette potty so I wouldn't need full hookup.

But hey, if we end up being in the middle of the motorhomes, at least I know the people are always wonderful. I meet the most interesting souls that way.

There is one big advantage to being a pop-up camper in a full hookup loop - very little competition for the showers in the bathhouse! :cool1:
