Hello! I received a Pluto postcard with a PIN late last summer, but I wasn't able to use it. Now that I am ready to plan a trip (and needing to save money), NADA!

I am wondering if those of you who have received the 40% off postcard or 40% off e-mail (or called and had a PIN attached to your name) would be willing to share your locations. I am thinking city and state or province.

Perhaps Disney marketing is leaving Richmond, VA, out of the promotion this time. I am just trying to find some rhyme or reason to how they make their selection. I called tonight, and the CM said I did not have a PIN at this time. It gives me hope! But I probably need to be realistic, too.

With my Pluto postcard, they released the same rate to the general public soon after I received my postcard...one can hope, right?

Good luck with your quest :wizard:

I used to frequently get post cards - haven't rec'd any in the last few years.
I remember last year about the same time there was a similar email pin code for discounts thru out the year - I didn't get that one..
This year I did  but there wasn't much availability for the dates I needed so I have a split stay. My location is southwest CT.

Hi, I'm south of the James in Richmond and I have NOT received an email or postcard. I keep waiting and checking and hoping.

I did receive an email code last January, I believe it came around the 16th (others had received email codes and postcards earlier than I did).

Here's hoping Richmond will be soon.

I got an email the other with the 40% pin. I live in Philadelphia, PA.

I'm not going to use it though because I booked the free dining bouceback when I was there in September. The free dining is a better deal because I am staying in a value resort plus there are two adults and children in our party.

It would have been nice to add in the responses when the last time you had been to disney world, for those that got a PIN. The way i see it, alot of people that never get a pin are the ones that go every year. Disney doesn't give them a PIN cuz they're already frequent visitors. PIN's are used to entice new customers and those who haven't been there in a while back to WDW. At least that's the way i see it.:upsidedow

You would think that makes some sense - but it doesn't seem to work that way either.

Check out the siggy on wdwnomad's post just a few before yours - it says that they have stayed onsite every year for the last four years and they just got one of the 40% codes.

Once again, Disney baffles us.

What I would love to know, however, is just how many they send out for each time they do this (and also know if sometimes there are more or less).

Ah well, still hoping up here in Canada...

 Hey everyone! Thought I'd jump in here a moment and ask a question. For those of you who are getting these codes...have you ever received one before now and how long has it been since you got your last one? Also if you have gotten one of these codes ... how often do you go to WDW? :confused3

I have never received a code before, but we go several times a year. I still can't believe we even got one. I was literally jumping up and down when I saw the mail. It was just laying on the counter and as soon as I spotted it I freaked! I actually ripped it on accident when I was jumping around. Sad but true, LOL!!! :lmao:

We also have been every September for Free Dining since 2005, and went either every year or every other year before that for quite awhile.

Good luck to those of you still waiting!

Once again, Disney baffles us.

I am not sure if this makes a difference but I always go with my sister and her kids. Some way or another we have two different "households" in the Disney system. When we booked last year my sister had the PIN under her name and phone number. We booked under her and I was included in guest under her. The previous two years I booked our trips using my name and phone number. They were guests under my name. The trip in 2005 I got an email with a PIN for the free dining before it went public. The email I just got came to me so I am assuming that is tied to my household. Maybe in the computers eyes I haven't been since 2006?

Some folks are getting a post card, so watch your mail! You can also call and the CM will check for a code associated with your name.

DH and I were incredibly fortunate to get the Poly deal back in 2002 (We were booked at CBR, WDW announced a renovation and we were upgraded to Poly for almost nothing: we paid a TOTAL of $1500 and change for 8 nights with two length of stay hoppers). We've wanted to return ever since, but could not bring ourselves to pay $400 per night. I'm over the moon!

We received a post card last summer. We live in Maine. My daughter, who also is in Maine got one as well. She was able to use her's last August. My son, in Mass. has also gotten one even though he has had no contact with Disney in years.

On 1-7-08 I called Disney dining to add to my ADRs for a trip in April-May. As usual I was asked if we were staying on site. I said not yet but we are hoping for a deal so we could. When we were wrapping up the call the cast member said, 'I hope you get your deal'. The next day we got the 40% off email. Do you think there was any connection? Unfortunately the dates of the 40% do not include our dates. So for now we'll keep our 60$ rate at the Fairfield Inn and keep hoping for something on site.

We got our 40% off email on Friday and after checking lots and lots of rates, booked 7 days/6 nights garden view at the Poly for $204 (before tax) per night. :woohoo:

We received a PIN email last year as well (I think it was right around this time), but our DS had some health issues that prevented us from traveling, so we couldn't use it. We were amazed and thrilled to get another PIN this year. Our DS is much better now. He will be 3 1/2 when we go in August, and his 1 yo brother will be going along too.

We're from Cincinnati Ohio. Our Disney history: DH and I day-tripped to Disneyland in 2003. Then we went to Disneyland in November of 2005 as part of a large party and stayed at the Grand Californian, but we didn't generate a hotel history since someone else booked the rooms for us.

Our first and only time at Disney World was September of 2006; we went for Magical Beginnings with our then 22 mo old and stayed 6 nights at the Pop Century. We really only went because DH had to be in Orlando for work anyway the previous week, and I had a plane ticket credit that had to be used or we'd lose it. Otherwise I don't know that we'd have gone until our DS was older. Once we got to the World, though, he just loved it and we were sold on going back.

Does anyone else who got a PIN have babies and toddlers? Maybe they're trying to hook us while our kids are really little, so we'll come back more times. :)
